It should be illegal to shut down servers if it makes your game literally unplayable.

Join the SMW ROMhacking community or something
technically you can still make levels yourself, but yeah it sucks that you can't play other people's levels anymore
>makes your game literally unplayable.
You can still make and play your own maps which is the true purpose of the game. The online features are simply an extension of that.
You knew it would all go away when you bought the game
Who cares? It was an old game anyway most of us long since moved on to other games.
Time moves too quickly now to linger on one game forever. It's okay if games end.
When did this become the mantra? There are a shit ton of old games that still can be played perfectly fine and introduce people into experiences they would not otherwise actually experience.
I don't believe they are organic posts. I just don't.
>EVERY POST I DISAGREE WITH ARE SJW LEFTIST israelite Black person troony homosexualS WHO ARE FOLLOWING ME AROUND IN EVERY THREAD
No thanks, I'm not a sheep that likes being herded to be butchered for money.
And you'll pay the subscription for the server upkeep, right?
I have yet to buy a game with online functions and expect it to stay up indefinitely.
How would a fail mmo handle this?
>gone
officially
Is there some modded rom that come packaged with an archive of player-made level or something?
Why didn't they just move the levels to the second game?
Some levels wouldn't work due to changes in mechanics and some features were removed (i.e. costumes)
One of the more noticeable gameplay tweaks (i.e. not an outright feature removal) for the worse was making the hurtbox on spikes much more horizontally rectangular for some godforsaken reason. They're like 20% wider than in SMM1 or so, something ridiculous like that.
I don't expect them to pay for servers forever but there's literally no reason not to open source their backend when they end support
If I had my way it would be required by law
it's still playable
you can make and play your own levels and any you've downloaded before shutdown
also the 10 mario challenge with the premade nintendo levels should still be playable
but it does still suck that the online's gone
Who cares, the superior MM2 exists. The issue is the loss of all the unqiue power ups that changed you into whatever like Arino or BABYMETAL.
oink oink Erictroony
The level sharing threads were kino.
Is EU gonna make this stuff illegal?
>Is EU gonna make this stuff illegal?
I hope so lol, but ninty might end up making these japan exclusives
Isn't pretendo hosting the entire 500 gb level backup or am I moronic?
i think they're uploading it to internet archive
>It should be illegal to shut down servers if it makes your game literally unplayable.
ah but adverisiting an emulator via torrents and making a fangame are legal, sure?
Online games will always have a lifecycle, that ends somedays, nothing is eternal, like your life anon. Everyone who cared is playing MM2 and would probably move to MM3 when it becomes a thing.
>paying for online
No
I'm not asking, deal with it.
>NEET doesn't understand how the roof over his head, the electricity he uses and the internet he is currently using is being paid for
Jesus christ.
I didn't have to pay for online in Mario Maker 1, I'm not going to pay for online in Mario Maker 2.
1 was better than 2
sure?
