Constant annual releases with zero time to breathe because the monolith franchise demands a new major release constantly in order to continue producing merchandise and marketing for new monsters and characters to sell to the lowest common denominator.
Because they go "bigger" each time. Naturally, it will look and run worse with this approach when they can't even apply distance LOD correctly or ship a gand with finished music or eyes closing during battle sleep

This feeds right back into those postings from Japanese Indeed. The stuff where employees and ex-employees were confidentially saying that GameFreak has no idea how to make games anymore and it feels like they're a full 2 console generations (sometimes 3) behind everyone else most of the time? This is that shit. This would work as a Wii game. Hell ,this would look pretty good as a Wii game (if you ignored stuff like Xenoblade). But this is not an acceptable Switch game. This is GF having no idea how to program and being too pigheaded to move forward and accept that they need to bring more people in who know what they're doing or otherwise learn themselves. This is pure "It's Pokemon, so they'll buy it no matter what" condensed into a line of dialogue plus an image. GF wants to do something huge and interesting and they just fricking can't because they don't know how and are too prideful to ask for help or admit that they need to get better to do whatever the frick they want to. If you had told me 10 years ago I'd be saying something like "It's a shame Pokemon is tied to GameFreak" I'd laugh at you. Now it feels like it's just a reality we're all dealing with. Some better than others, I guess. Frick the morons who think they can will this shit out of being by simply ignoring the issue.
