"Supporting game devs" is not a fricking political position. It's not something I'm always going to do on principle. I support decisions based on whether or not I agree with those decisions. What the frick is wrong with people these days? What makes them think "The devs wanted to do it" means I'm instantly now going to say "Well, it's okay then."

they're not bots, often, they're sockpuppets. accounts that were once real (to look less suspicious) that get bought by corporations to run stealth marketing/damage control. Some game devs/publishers are particularly obvious about it (THQ Nordic seems to have about 10000 accounts specifically for sockpuppetry) butt hey all do it to some degree.
