Why bother writing that many words. Just say "I'm a moron".

Anon, you can get both Gourgeist and Trevenant in either game. The only difference is that you can't find wild Gourgeist whilst you can find wild Trevenant.
>give gourgeist access to fire moves that weren't will-o-wisp, literally the only one that could before scovillain existed >LOL LET'S MAKE IT A PHYSICAL ATTACKER
I will never understand this decision.
they specifically say kintsugi in the jp trailer but English speakers are apparently too stupid to understand that word so they just say "it's been repaired!"
We need another Water/Fire. And really new Pokemon for all the typings that are exclusive to legendary/mythical/special Pokemon that are mostly only available in the postgame.
It's ok to not like the typing. (not like that will change anything) Hopefully you weren't one of those morons that were arguing for weeks that this was going to be a grass/fairy type.
Fire/Fighting was more disliked because it ws a trend in an already exclusive group. There are a higher proportion of Fire/Fighting mons in the group of starters than there are Grass/Ghost mons to the rest of the entire dex.

wrong
How come no one is crying about the repeated Water/Dark, Fire/Ghost and Grass/Fighting among starters then? Or really almost every starter with a second type having Ghost, Dark and Fighting since gen 6?
Types don’t mean anything if the Pokémon has a unique niche. The Poltchageist line should have the same species strengths as the Sinistea line, so they should still be special attackers. Every other Pokémon so far was physical.
Look at how many pure Grass and pure Ghost Pokémon we always get and nobody complains about that. But suddenly make a recurring type combination and now people are upset.
My only issue here is that this is the fifth time a soul fuses with plant material and becomes a Pokémon.
We only had 3 Pokémon with this type combination for almost 18 years.
Now over the past 3 years, we have 4 more, which is fine in this case as each represents different aspects of the type.
Zarude - Aggressive mammal who manipulates plants
Meowscarada - Con artist magician with a false flower
Brute Bonnet - Aggressive plant (falling in line with the original 3)
Wo-Chien - Negative emotions possessing a wooden tablet and forming a foliage body to protect itself and move around
>Look at how many pure Grass and pure Ghost Pokémon we always get and nobody complains about that. But suddenly make a recurring type combination and now people are upset.
You can't be serious.... Stop pretending to be moronic.
3 of the 4 convergent pokemon share the same BST and distribution, with Wiglett being the odd one with 20 points less in Special Defense. What make you believe that Poltchageist will not be the same?
The way they word Hosptiality makes it sound like other mons will be getting it. I think this, alongside it being likened to Sinistea and NOT Polteageist (despite the name) pretty solidly points to it evolving.

Well no shit? Of course the evo is getting it. You can count on one hand where this happens (only like what, slakoth does this?)
So the teal mask has the Grass type Ogerpon, a grass variant of sinistea and a new grass evo for applin. Isnt that too much grass? Will Dippin's evo drop grass in favour of another typing?

The story was very specifically based on a Tsukumogami, which is (traditionally) a Tool brought to life by force of age and/or a grudge, Matcha poweder is not really a tool. Also, the teamaster regretted his butthole nature in the end, but polchageist still carries the grudge because he's not the teamaster but a Yokai getting mad on his behalf.
Because your knowledge of Japanese pottery is lacking. A chaki doesn't hold liquid tea. It's a jar that you carry the powered macha in, then scoop it out to add to the water.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaki
I like it but I do wish it was water grass to shake things up, ya it doesn't make sense lore wise but there's going to be 100s of these mons in the wild and it's soul of one man so the lore alrady doesn't make sense
It takes more design traits from Polteageist and people in-verse probably named it after poltea because of that until they discovered that it can evolve. The name was just stuck in their heads by that point.
Abilities are important for competitive play, not for the campaign.
If you want to beat the game just get some STAB moves and use them against Pokemon that are weak or neutral to them.
>britoid designer goes insane as soon as he gets an important task and starts designing absolutely atrocious Pokemon like Sinistea >Gamefreak fires him and starts replacing his designs with japanized versions
Pure, unadulterated, unquestionable Soul.
To be hoenst I'm kinda just upset that Gen 8 is getting a ton of shit this DLC since I like only a scant few of it's designs compared to Gen 7 and that's gotten jack shit besides Hisuian Decidueye.
Gimme a regional Comfey. A convergent Ribombee that's a hummingbird. An evo for Pyukumuku.
tbh I'd be fine with that, one of these each gen. I just hope it doesn't take up dex slots, so I'd rather have regional forms than convergent ones, but it's fine.
The reason there hasn’t been a bug dragon dragonfly is because Pokémon design is still predominantly completed in Japan, and they aren’t called dragonflies in Japanese, and hold no connection to dragons.

This isn't fricking it, right? There's got to be more Pokemon, right? So far all the new Pokemon overlap in some way so you can't really even use them on a team. Not including the legendaries.
I don't know where else to post this speculation so I'll post it here. What if the reason Paradox Entei and Terrakion haven't been revealed is because they'll be in the Teal Mask part instead of Indigo Disk?
Huh, I actually thought the ones they announced were for Teal Mask. I didn't check, so I assumed we were getting one pair in the base game, one pair in Teal Mask, and one pair in Indigo Disk.
I don't think they would announce the Indigo Disk ones first, so my guess is the other two are for Indigo Disk as well and are just going to be dripfed to us later.

It's still stand out because it's the only special attacker.

>52 type combinations have 6 or more Pokemon
>110 type combinations have less than 6 Pokemon
>9 are unused
total 171 = 18*17/2 (double) + 18 (single)
It feels a lot because of how recent they are.
We're now consistently getting two per gen since gen 7.
I feel this way about Psychic/Fairy. We didn't get a Grass/ghost in SwSh
It is a lot when there are still multiple unused combinations and obvious shit like Grass/Fire wasn't used til over 20 years into the franchise.
And Scovillain isn't all that great either. People were just happy that Grass/Fire exists. Now we can move on to Ice/Poison.
Why? The real version won't be a spiky crystal monster.
It would be novel, just like Fire/Grass was. How good it is is irrelevant.
I like it, I wish we got actual new pokémon in the DLC besides legendaries/special stuff like paradoxes, but whatever it's fine
We got evolutions.
But...we are? Dipplin, Archaludon, Poltchageist?
Actual new pokémon, not stuff based on what we already have

Why would they? They didn't do that last gen.
Its cute, I like the look of it in game a lot, its bigger than the line its based off of too.
wonder what the ability is
I like how they just fricking showed it commiting mass murder on the audience, including literal children.
it literally just makes you sleepy did you even watch the video
Anon, it literally stated in the video that the matcha seeps into your life force.
they said it takes SOME OF your life force, and everyone was snoring at the end
Just like how the tea master "fainted?"
nah bro he's dead, but the mon just makes you eepy
Are you being a moron on purpose or just gaslighting? Either way please kys
also, what is it's name?
Poltchageist
Grass/Ghost
It really shows you make up memes on the spot using an AI, because there's really few grass/ghost in the game to begin with.
Gens 6, 7, and now 9 have had 2 grass/ghost lines.
So you never played the games.
hopefully the shiny is yellow and reference kintsugi

so bulbasaur isn't its own species anymore? they're all just venusaur now? this is how you sound.
>Counting Pre-evos
Nah, that's stupid. It's all the same Pokemon/line
Fairy/Metal is worse
Zero Grass/Ghost lines before Gen 6 and now we're up to 6 lol.
Finally, another grass ghost
We need another Water/Fire. And really new Pokemon for all the typings that are exclusive to legendary/mythical/special Pokemon that are mostly only available in the postgame.
>Noo, it needs to be something unique, like Flying/Normal, Ice/Water or Rock/Ground.
There are only two fully evolved rock/ground pokemon.

>but suddenly, 6 grass/ghost is okay
Explain this, /vp/.
Its not okay. But it is if it makes you upset.
You're acting like we're constantly getting grass/ghost types
We are.
No? We didn't get any in Gen 8.
Having two in Gen 7 makes up for it's absence.
It's in top 33% most common type now
Now compare to how many Normal/flying types we have. You people are overexaggerating.
Two lines in ten years

Basically everything but rocks is mostly water.
Everything is mostly empty space, atomically.
Because you need leaves to provide the flavor for tea.
Why don't they have a Water-type Steelworker?
It could be a Grass type which learns Water-type moves, which is more unique.
If it doesn't learn Scald that would he a travestea.
Matcha is meme powder that literally just tastes like grass
It's ground down green tea leaves, you uncultured swine.
Because your knowledge of Japanese pottery is lacking. A chaki doesn't hold liquid tea. It's a jar that you carry the powered macha in, then scoop it out to add to the water.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaki
That is Tea, Japan.
Tea is made with boiling water and various plants.
No tea is only made with camellia sinensis leaves. And like he said, the jar isn't for tea, it's for matcha. Flour isn't bread.
To put it in terms easier to understand, he's pic related, not a teapot.
really scrapping the bottom of the barrel... maybe it will evolve into a fricking barrel
>more Grass/Dark types
>more Grass/Ghost types
Someone a Gamefreak is addicted to these type combinations a little too much.
god I hate stoners so much
>OMG 8 OUT OF 1000 WTF ARE THEY ADDICTED
Stop asking chat GPT for memes
Obsessed
It’s fairy ghost
I like it but I do wish it was water grass to shake things up, ya it doesn't make sense lore wise but there's going to be 100s of these mons in the wild and it's soul of one man so the lore alrady doesn't make sense
Woah it’s like that’s how ghost Pokémon work, who could had possibly figure that out after so many years woah
Why does this piece of shit look like complete garbage? When did the designs get so totally awful in this series?
What else could it have been?
Why the frick did they make the name match with polteageist if it's clearly a sinistea expy?
Maybe it's a standalone meant to ape both
It won't evolve
It takes more design traits from Polteageist and people in-verse probably named it after poltea because of that until they discovered that it can evolve. The name was just stuck in their heads by that point.
>The ability that only does something in doubles
Almost as if 4v4 doubles is the official competitive format
The majority of gameplay is singles, hope this helps.
Abilities are important for competitive play, not for the campaign.
If you want to beat the game just get some STAB moves and use them against Pokemon that are weak or neutral to them.
It could have a hidden ability.
holy shit im convinced the designers are schizos wtf is this design what the actual shit lmao
>britoid designer goes insane as soon as he gets an important task and starts designing absolutely atrocious Pokemon like Sinistea
>Gamefreak fires him and starts replacing his designs with japanized versions
Pure, unadulterated, unquestionable Soul.
>Entitea is real now
Frick everything forever, but frick James Turner the most…
Someone woke up from a coma
It's cute.
Grass/Ghost
>Decidueye
>Bramblin -> Brambleghast
>Poltchageist
Ghost/Grass
>Phantump -> Trevenant
>Pumpkaboo -> Gourgeist
>Dhelmise
We need a mechanic which makes type order important. Imagine a held item which grants +30% Speed with moves of your primary type.
Give it the frick up already.
The rest are physical attackers, this appears to be a special attacker
To be hoenst I'm kinda just upset that Gen 8 is getting a ton of shit this DLC since I like only a scant few of it's designs compared to Gen 7 and that's gotten jack shit besides Hisuian Decidueye.
Gimme a regional Comfey. A convergent Ribombee that's a hummingbird. An evo for Pyukumuku.
This
Frick galar
I'll take 1009 cloths for Mimikyu disguised as every fricking Pokémon
Was I meant to get excited for this? This is, what, the sixth Grass/Ghost line? And not a single one of them is good? Frick me running.
Looking forward to Gen 10 in Italy and the wine version
tbh I'd be fine with that, one of these each gen. I just hope it doesn't take up dex slots, so I'd rather have regional forms than convergent ones, but it's fine.
Didn't some fricking youtuber do a video of Polteageist but for every type? And din't he actually have Matca/Green Tea down for the grass type?
No
Yeah. I just looked and re-found the video, though his was proper green tea leaves and not Matcha Powder.
Wine was the Poison type, incidentally
I like it but I'm a tea gay.
I bet it has a similar stat spread to the rest as well.
how have we never gotten a bug dragon
A dragonfly makes too much sense. Wr have to preserve dex space for 3 stage Pikaclone lines.
convergent yanma
believe
The reason there hasn’t been a bug dragon dragonfly is because Pokémon design is still predominantly completed in Japan, and they aren’t called dragonflies in Japanese, and hold no connection to dragons.
Scyther
Yanmega
Flygon
Goodra
Naganadel
Flapple
Slitherwing
We've had plenty of Bug/Dragon Pokemon
blame the japanese for not associating their dragonfly species with dragons
How have we never gotten a rock/ghost type yet
>Normal/Ice
Lemming
>Normal/Bug
Opossum with a Parasite
Alien
>Normal/Rock
Fossilized Mammal
>Normal/Steel
Cyborg
Hamster in Ball
>Fire/Fairy
Circus Clown
Will o the Wisp
>Ice/Poison
Common Cold
>Ground/Fairy
Gnome
>Bug/Dragon
>Rock/Ghost
Genuinely stump-worthy, I don't think these'll ever happen.
>Bug/Dragon
Flygon regional form (it has both the Bug and Dragon egg groups)
>Rock/Ghost
Literally Bouldergeist from Super Mario Galaxy
Closest we'll ever get to a bug dragon would be goodra
No matter what you think of Poltchageist, never forget it has a killcount above 1
GHOST
SLASH
GRASS
SLOW
PHYSICAL
ATTACKER
What do we even call this shitmon archetype? Slowst?
It's Indigo Disk.
#1013 RUMBLING CRAG
Fire/Dragon
#1014 IRON CHARGE
Rock/Psychic
b-but this time the Ghost/Grass physical attacker will have Shell Smash! p-plese stop making fun of it....
>ANOTHER Grass/Ghost
