Rape isn’t constantly leveraged as a threat for the vast, vast majority of the manga. Fujimoto on the other hand couldn’t figure out how to raise the stakes so almost rape as the scariest thing he could think of. The rapes of Guts, Casca, and Griffith both actually happened and were extremely weighty character moments. Rape is at its most flippant in the Wyald arc, but even then Miura actually follows through rather than letting rape be some theoretical guillotine to hold above character’s heads but never drop because it’s cheap and easy tension. I say again, Fujimoto is a hack praised by idiot teenagers who think film references or having a basic theme make a manga intellectual.

That's false, since potato Casca was constantly at the threat of getting the dick. That was also the case with Rape Horse, whom existed only for the sake of a rape thread and giving Guts ptsd flashbacks. Pretty much all female characters during troll arc were under a threat of rape too, since if they were to be captured, they would get the dick first and foremost. So yes, rape is a theoretical guillotine above some characters' heads in Berserk.

Berserk unironically has more nuance even in its edgiest phases. Fujimoto dreams of pulling off a Lost Children or the rape of Casca. Throughout my reading of Fire Punch, all I could think about was how inferior it was to similar works, like Berserk. Berserk isn’t even that incredible as a whole, but FP is actual gutter-trash.
It's actually mostly trash, it starts interesting then it keeps jumping topics every few chapters and it's like the author doesn't know himself what kind of story he wants to write nor even have a shred of an idea how narrative should go. It has its moments but they're heavily outweighed by the story being mostly made out of chaos.

If you feel like investing 250 hours into the Project Moon setting, the game actually presents you this exact situation on a meta level, while also weaving it into the narrative. The game genuinely asks you, as the player behind the screen, if you are capable of forgiving somebody who has wronged you in a big way, and it does it without breaking the fourth wall.
It ONLY works properly if you play through the entirety of Lobotomy Corporation, getting the true ending regardless of how much you might dislike the game, though. If you don't, it's still a good story, but the emotional levers that it is pulling don't properly exist.
