I think so. AoE3DE shows that they are willing to take some chances, even if I don't particularly care for the content itself. Hopefully we can expect a fully redone China and possibly India?
>AoE3DE
Someone thought that nu-age shit was worth a definitive edition? >Fully redone China
Not part of the original AoM so it's trash and shouldn't be included.
India is probably not happening because they actually believe that shit and seethe every time about muh beliefs when you put in in a game.

That didn't stop the Chinese DLC, but in the dev's defense they didn't even release that over there.

Chinks don't care as much and they have been writing wuxia and fantasy reinterpretations of taoism since forever themselves.
The one weird hangup they do insist on keeping is skeletons, because that's disrespectful to ancestors or something and they do still care about that, so most games remove them for chinese market.

This skeleton meme is outdated and moronic, also i'm not talking about daoism. It isn't even their core faith, or even their largest one.
I'm pretty sure retold is being made by the people that made the other remakes not lelic so while they fricked it up the first time there is hope they will do it properly. AoE2HD also had it's dark times and DE turned out fine.
I’m going to need to see some changes before I get excited. AoM was already ruined with the last remaster and China expansion. The new Remaster needs to be like AoE2DE and actually have some effort put into balance and wanting to support the game into the future otherwise why would anyone want to buy it again?
One of my favorite RTS campaigns of all time. Very cool concept, unironically had SOVL.
I barely played MP at the time because I was a dumb kid but I remember not liking how brutal the supply cap was in the Skirmish mode, and how you had to expand to a gorillion bases to increases pop cap. Felt limiting
I hope they do a great job with the remaster they are working on. I actually replayed the campaign recently on Titan and that difficulty could use some re-tuning. With these types of RTS games sometimes the difficulty gets to a point where it's more like a trial-and-error puzzle game than a strategy game. I was able to complete it but had to use a lot of cheese
I love AoM, but I have to be honest, is not the best game of the series, not eve close. >Has limited buildings >Awkward placement >Horrible 3D models >Horrible physics (due to 3D) >Horrible terrain (Due to 3D) >Horrible Map Editor (probably, due to 3D too) >Limited TownCenter placement >Limited Population / small armies >Convoluted scissor/paper/rock system
>Has limited buildings >Limited Town Center placement
This is good, it means people need to actually try and control the map to expand their population, and can't just spam houses like madmen.
And there's nothing convoluted about the unit strengths and weaknesses. The real issues that the game has is how terrible the pathfinding tends to be. There's also the issues of poor civilization balance and mediocre at best hotkeys. there's also the issue that the enhanced edition actively destroys civilization asymmetry, but that's specifically an issue with that version of the game.
>>Has limited buildings
How >Awkward placement
How >Horrible 3D models
The game looked amazing for its time and still has neat things that more modern games don't bother with, such as different models for each upgrade (except breastplates) >Horrible physics (due to 3D)
Horrible how? They're limited for sure but earlier games don't even have physics and AoE 3 is pretty much the same but better due to tech advantage and more experience with 3D >Horrible terrain (Due to 3D)
Horrible how? >Horrible Map Editor (probably, due to 3D too)
It's better than 2's in every way >Limited TownCenter placement

AoE 1 had a hardcap of 50 and AoE 2 was designed and balanced around 75 pop. AoE 3 has the same pop limit as AoM >Convoluted scissor/paper/rock system
It's the literal opposite of convoluted, compared to AoE 2's unique units and hidden bonuses.
Prostagma
Etimos
This legitmately makes me smile, those two phrases were so fricking drilling into my brain
cool campaign
but shit everything else

i liked it as a kid, but i can see why it never kicked off like starcraft or age of empires
it was way too fun and ubalanced
the fact you cant build base anywhere you want hurts the game
Love the concept. Wish more games like it existed.
Are we hyped for the remake?

have a nice day Black person
This. They're going to go wild with additions and tweaks, probably at the cost of doing less stuff for AoE3 tho...
why would you ask for india, when you could have literary any other mythology
keep pajeets out of my video games ty

Literally nobody.
Me.
Indian mythology has some cool shit

Poop is not a resource in AOM anon.
No hype until we actually see some shit
AoE IV taught me that the hard way

I am pretty excited.
I however do not doubt it will be subject to changes (such as voice lines being redone; to be accurate to the ancient languages).
>retold
they're going to frick with it
No.
Frick no
I hope it’s good but I’m fully expecting it to be pozzed
frick no, they're going to frick it as much as they can

Wish I could play multiplayer without the "Enhanced" edition's additional units
google voobly AoM

I don't know... Seeing a cyclops pick up a guy and toss him and then the guy bounce on the ground kind of blew my mind as a kid.
>Convoluted scissor/paper/rock system
You have that in all Age of... games, even AoE1 to an extent.

scissor/paper/rock system
Nu Aoe2 is filled with too many shitty hybrid units that break this mechanic.
> Wow what if this civ had cav but it also countered pike.
> What if this civ had cav archers but no counters
It's impsisible to play without memorizing every special unit. Whereas in the original game you can typically guess from attack style and visuals.

He obviously means limits such as max 20 towers, max 10 castles, and that town centers that can only be placed on settlements.
