I kneel wrath. I used to think that Kingmaker was a masterpiece and wrath was underwhelming, but I didn't realize just how bad the writing was in the rest of the industry. It's not even fair to compare it to bg3, it beats it in everything(yes, even character customization).
Imagine thinking you'll still be excited about your act 5 path switch after you're 5000 hours into the game, just pick what you want to do at first and think of the rest later
as far as difficulty after you get a couple of things in act 3 done you're just coasting, and thats with the paths that aren't just broken like book merged shit
So the way I understand Arcane Strike is you get a flat +5 to damage, it just cost a Swift Action. +5 to damage is equivalent to what Greater Weapon Focus, or Weapon Specialization?
you don't need to buff unless your playing on hard. i completed Daring on first playthrough as a angel without even knowing you can increase Arue damage with hurricane bow or even using the all in one buff that angel has when you merge with Cleric.
If you are missing in the prologue it's because you put the game on hard and fricked up your character's build by pumping dex and not taking weapon finesse or playing an archer without point blank shot.
Frick. I put it in core, enjoying the difficulty but I’m pretty sure my build is moronic. Should I enable the character retrain option and fix him when I can? I’m already 5hours in
Post your character sheet and I'll tell you how to fix it. Retraining with the ingame option takes a day which will frick you over in act 1 so just install toybox and use that to respec.
Ok yeah without weapon finesse you'll use your strength bonus on attack rolls which is just a +1. You also want at least 14 int on a Vanguard Slayer since your 4th level ability lasts for a number of rounds equal to your int bonus.
pathfinder games would be 10000000x better if they never had the shitty management games
that i agree. the effort they put on making these shitty managment minigame can be used to make something else. sadly RT will also have shitty management
I like the crusade after my second playthrough, even the battles are growing on me.
Now if they can just find a way to do it without having three versions of the map screen and a 5 second loading screen swapping between them (???? did not one the devs stop and ask if that was really necessary when they actually stopped pushing code and tried to play it?)
there isn't, you also miss out on items and events. it sucks we know.

So what actually happens when you put it on auto-battle from the beginning of the game? Will you just soft lock yourself from progressing because you keep losing battles in the minigame and eventually can't progress in the story?
Anonymous
what? you don’t lose any battle when the crusade is set to auto. the battles basically just dont happen for you during the campaign and you can adventure at your leisure. enemy forts that block off certain regions are removed either by reaching certain points in the story, or just on a timer
There is no point, it's shit and you're better off getting Setsuna Shy asap so he can carry the entire thing, or just mod it and win everything automatically

knowing Owlcat you probably will be the student before some big tragedy happens to the principal and you have to become the principal because you and him know each other form back than and he knew you were the person to be put in charge when shit hit the fan
its literally just one autist from /vg/ that hates all crpgs other than owlcat and samegays arguments vs himself. he's mentally ill and also shitposts in gacha generals and is generally on Ganker 24/7
no you are not mentally ill and enjoy different games. i do hope Owlcat take some pointers from Larian gameplay and Larian learns how to create good companions like some of the Wotr cast
you have to realize that Ganker users dont actually play any of these games, dont care about anything they shitpost about and just want a place to shitpost freely. if you play either of these games you realize just how many people just straight up lie about them
what the frick are you on about? you can frick Arue when she becomes a Azata or if you corrupt her(not romancable tho) and if you are talking about the bg3 succ you can also frick her.
>if you pick evil options it corrupts her and breaks her romance >if you pick horny options it breaks her romance
Jesus this girl is way too high maintenance for a literal succubus.
well that's how her romance works. you are suppose to make her horny for you by holding hands and sweet talking her. not screaming sexo and creep her out.
>by holding hands and sweet talking her
Jesus I'm chaotic good, not a fricking evil psycho that shits fricked up.
Jokes aside though all the female romances are way too hard in this game, whereas gay gays literally can't stop trying to get into bed with you. >camelia will bribe sex you but shes literally a murderpsycho >arue needs like to pick 20 correct dialogue options and only romanceable by act 5 >wendu is also evil and will betray you unless again you pick all the right dialogue choices >the queen is a shitbag and extremely incompetent to boot
Did I miss anyone?
>only romanceable by act 5
The romance starts in act 3 and you outright get the option to break up with her after the jail quest (which is usually considered thet point where the relationship in-game gets serious)
I have no idea why you would play pally compared to cleric-crusader which supercharges their spell book through mythic merge to get the BEST buffs in the game super early
I don't. i just go full Oracle with some Paladin levels and let it rip with smite evil and various buffs.
>REEEEEEE WE NEED MORE DLC THAT INCLUDES CONTENT FOR THE MAIN CAMPAIGN >Here it is bro, sorry for making the first three DLC garbage >NOOOO I DON'T CARE FIX MY WAIFUS ENDINGS

I doubt there's a ton of overlap between CRPG and JRPG fans though.
The classics. Fallout 1, Baldur's Gate 1/2, Torment, etc etc. Neither of the Pathfinder games can even compare to the brilliance of the classics, especially in the writing department.

Obviously you lack any reason or capability of forming thought since you like literal shovelware russian slop that copies old CRPGs and fails at every aspect of transporting a tabletop experience worth playing on a computer.
one thing that owlcat manages to do and no one else does is actual make the game feel like a campaign (obviously helps that their games are adapted APs)
bg3 and really, any other crpg feel like adventures, no sense of time, of distance, of long term progression and scale
Kingmaker was fricking goated at this, you really felt like you start as nothing and YEARS later you became a near god
bg1-2-tob is the only other that comes close
i’ve never understood posts like this. you can just turn them off in the menu. if you don’t like them, why would you go out of your way to choose to do them?
>you can just turn them off in the menu bro. >lose all the good shit like passion sweet kiss, mallander belt and grave singer bro. >just lose the ability to do the secret ending bro.
It still worse than bg 3. Atleast a bg 3 writer don't have a cuckold fetish and don't make all female companions talk about getting dicked in the past when you romance them.
>Can't mating press Nurah until she's loyal to The Commander >Paizo is writing out all mention and reference to slavery with zero explanation despite it being baked into the lore of Asmodeus' faith >Can't tell Iomadae where to shove it and kick her ass despite the Commander being capable of doing it by the end of the game
I'm not buying the next Pathfinder.
>despite the Commander being capable of doing it by the end of the game
there is a big difference between an actual god and a mythic demigod. you can fight Iomedae and probably win with the help of your other demi-god companions but it would be a very tough fight.
You absolutely can tell iomedae to shove it though, and she just kinda takes it like a loser and stutters "I hope you won't regret it" and flies away.
Trying to fight her is plain moronic (not even evil, just moronic) since there's obviously no way you can win even with the power wanking the games puts on you.
The power fantasy story was great, but I fricking hated the system.
Overall I had fun with it, but I played Oracle Angel on release and blasted everything to oblivion with holy rays. Not sure how it would go without an OP build.
Good relics for melee? I finished the game without bothering with them, just drops and vendor stuff. I heard there's gear crafting but never found it too.
I never shit on it but I definitely have more respect for it now.
Both pathfinder games just flow.
BG3 is full of choices, options and dialogue that I don't want to choose but I have no other choice.
So can you completely frick yourself over based off how you build your character from the character creation?
I tried Kingmaker for a little bit and picked a wizard but I was filtered pretty hard if I remember right because I actually needed DEX to land spells instead of INT which I didn't really understand.
Is there like a primer I could read somewhere that goes into ways I can avoid bricking myself? Seems like kind of an oversight to allow that to happen in the first place.
>I actually needed DEX to land spells instead of INT
you need dex to land ranged attacks
some spells do ranged attacks, others dont
just use spells that dont do attacks if you dont have dex
>Wouldn't that mean I can't do any damage as a mage without DEX then?
no
lots of damage spells dont do attacks but instead require saves, like fireballs
have you tried READING the tooltips and spell descriptions?

You might want to stop randomly linking stuff before reading it bro.
If it's something that just makes people explode, dex is not needed
Stuff like lasers and such need to be aimed and thus need dex
Fireballs and other aoes don't count cause it's more of a "frick this general direction" thing
>things that need to be aimed need dex >throwing a ball of fire doesn't need to be aimed
I'm not sure I really buy that explanation. Why can't you just widen the lazer and shoot it in a general direction to not require dex?
Anonymous
Cause a laser is based arround precision
A fireballs doesn't need to hit something directly to explode it
You can't cast a laser at the darkness and hope to hit the grue
A fireballs on the other hand will fry the grue, the paladin and the rogue
Huh?
Magic classes use spell attack to land their attacks, not their proficiency with ranged/melee.
They depend fully on their main casting stat, like INT for Wizard

Because they have much better options now?
They might go back to pathfinder, but I highly doubt it.
I'm hoping for warhammer fantasy rpg.
Paizo refused to keep working together. Owldead
wait, really?
Didn't owlcat already lose their license and control over Kingmaker so they don't update it anymore?
They lost them to their original employers. At the time of kingmaker's development and release, they all still worked at mail.sru
They made a lot of money and have a system built that they just need to create new assets for. The only reason not to make another pathfinder game would be Paizo revoking the license which hasn't happened.
They are making 40k game now and using same assets lol
I don't think that's gonna stop them
>Because they have much better options now?
Just because you don't like Pathfinder doesn't mean they dislike it too
Maybe they'll release a WH fantasy game or maybe they'll just stick to another Pathfinder AP

Owlcat has yet to make a dlc worth making. I hate that I have FOMO so I consume their garbage fricking standalone shit I'm not interested in. I wish they'd just add normal fricking DLCs that connect to the main campaign instead of that meme garbage nobody likes.
>REEEEEEE WE NEED MORE DLC THAT INCLUDES CONTENT FOR THE MAIN CAMPAIGN >Here it is bro, sorry for making the first three DLC garbage >NOOOO I DON'T CARE FIX MY WAIFUS ENDINGS
If you don't like romance then don't even add romance in your vidya. Better to have nothing than to have borderline unfinished trash endings. Owlcat completely fricked up their PR with that spyware bullshit and they still don't give anything back and don't offer any fan service. I am definitely not buying Rogue Trader and being a idiot again, pirating that shit from gog-games.to.
>spyware
This shit is literally in every fricking game.
About 80% of your library has similar or literally exact same shit.
>Because they have much better options now?
Just because you don't like Pathfinder doesn't mean they dislike it too
Maybe they'll release a WH fantasy game or maybe they'll just stick to another Pathfinder AP
I don't hate pathfinder it's just given their entire history I doubt they will only make pathfinder.
If they wanted to do the same cash grab over and over again they probably would have stayed in mail.sru and stayed out of basically dead genre.
Not chaos.
Just imbalance.
Imagine if one day you stepped on a lego that shouldn't have been there and instead lost a leg to infection that resulted from it
Aeon doesn't remove the lego piece
Aeon just makes it so you still step on it, but you don't frick up your leg to the point of having it cut off

Alternatively if the person who placed that lego piece under your foot broke enough laws, he gets evicted from reality and THEN you never step on a lego piece
So based off these replies, I guess I'm justified being confused that I can't land spells with INT instead of DEX because even the referenced rules are conflicting with each other.
Do I trust the in game tooltips or do I have to reference outside sources? Which is correct?
>ranged
a ranged attack uses dex >touch
a touch attack ignores armor AC, only your dodge/dex/other magical stuff helps you evade it. Imagine how hard it is to touch a gigantic monster, not pierce its armor. That's what touch AC represents (just your overall ac minus the part from having thick armor) >fortitude save
this is basic stuff, targets make saves to avoid or reduce harmful effects. The DC (difficulty class, or the number you have to beat) depends on the power of the spell/spellcaster.

Fug. There must be more to life.
I was using bestow greater curse. It seems very cool having a sword that curses enemies with whopping -12 to stats when it hits them.
Curses are save or suck spells so they fall off on higher difficulties when your gish class can't hit high enough DC, Vampiric Touch and Force Punch will do damage with no save to prevent it as long as you hit with it.
Based off the game tooltips, DEX doesn't seem like a good stat for a wizard

as I'm not a rogue and I don't plan on wearing light or medium armor.

You want dex because as a wizard you want to hit enemies with rays.

It's most important to rogues
It's useful when you're wearing medium, light, or no armor
Some spells are considered ranged attacks and need dex
Learn to read before you play video games
a rogue can't cast scorching ray
a dexterous wizard is better at aiming a ray than a less dexterous one, yes
a more intelligent wizard is better at making a fireball than a less intelligent one
it's called a system that allows different scenarios to be represented
unlike 5e where you can be prone, grappled, restrained, and 20 other shit and the only thing that happens is "disadvantage" causing your players to go wtf, he can still dodge me? he can still prevent me from touching him with my inflict wounds? etc
If I have a spell made available via two spellbooks and they're both spontaneous casters, how the hell do I pick which should show up in my uhm.. handbook?
But I can't open the spell bar while the spellbook is open. Where do I need to drag and drop it to?
GIving it metamagic would be a good idea if I had any
Doesn't seem to be the case. I have a few duplicate spells from being lazy with my level ups and I don't seem to have a single dupe.
If I remove ampiric strike from my magus spellbook using toybox I get the sorc version instead in the quick menu.
>zero actually look looking straigh white male npcs or companions >every important character or character in position of power is female or black >99% of companions are gay, black or generic strong wyman

Daeran is white with a tan, Woljif's human family members are all white, Lann is white, Greybor is white, Regill is white, and Ulbrig is white. Of them the only "gay" ones are Daeran who's a degen and treated as such by everyone and Ulbrig who is playersexual.
>BG3 level design is better
I love pointless jumping and verticality mechanics, it's so fun! I'm somewhat enjoying the game so far, but that's one of the most annoying parts about it.
>most people loves it
Maybe form your own opinions esl dog >see Elden Ring
It's a fast paced action game, running around in Elden Ring is snappy and intuitive, it's just janky and clunky in a crpg
I initially wanted to pick aeon, but then when you are introduced to them the first time at market square, it turns out the last aeon came down and got immediately cleaved by deskari lmao.
Why the frick would I want to join the faction who got rekt by the demon lord I'm trying to kill in the first place?

Not even close. Lamashtu is the only one to achieve divinity, and Nocticula could have as well. Deskari's only feat in-game was killing a silver dragon which isn't even that impressive given the player party could have done the same by mid-game ish. By end game you clubbed deskari so hard he died.

Cool, you just mentioned two of the three demon lords that are stronger than him, the other being his dad Pazuzu
Yes Deskari is one of the strongest
I had the opposite problem with trickster, the scene where you unlock it was the sole reason I chose the path but I ended up hating it guess I got tricked
i feel like am talking to a lawyer rather than a big evil devil. atleast the demons are honest and don't pretend they are anything more than murderhobos
So what was Greyboor's beef with Arue beyond the obvious danger of having a demon nearby, because the hostility felt a lot more personal than that in his banter
I cannot think or comprehend of anything more cucked than having a son. Honestly, think about it rationally. You are feeding, clothing, raising and rearing a boy for at least 18 years solely so he can go and get ravaged by some redeemed succubus. All the hard work you put into your beautiful little boy - reading him prayers to Deskari at bedtime, making him do sarkorian rituals, making sure he drinks plenty of mythic juice, teaching magic to him, summoning balors with him. All of it has one simple result: his body is more enjoyable for the Succubus that will eventually frick him.
Raised the perfect boy? Great. Who benefits? If you're lucky, a random demon who had nothing to do with the way he grew up, who marries him. She gets to frick his wiener every night. She gets the benefits of his kind and sweet personality that came from the way you raised him.
As a woman who has a son, you are LITERALLY dedicating at least 20 years of your life simply to raise a boy for another woman to enjoy. It is the ULTIMATE AND FINAL cuck. Think about it logically.
>busting criminals and passing judgment as a Aeon >Melies just tells you to spare the criminal because they will be useful >Irebeth on the other hand just wants to execute very last one of them
why do we hate Orc paladin lass again?
but i thought people here loved murderhobo paladins. well /tg/ seems to love them because Gygax headcanon is that paladin are just idiotic zealots who can't think
Essential mods before I start playing a Pathfinder game for the first time?
Preferably things that don't make the game harder because I'm already enough of a brainlet.
So looking into bag of tricks, it just seems like an in-game cheat engine. Is this basically used to tweak settings how you want them or are there specific things I should probably do like removing inventory encumbrance
Also since you're going to play Kingmaker make sure you set the kingdom management on effortless difficulty, and if even then it's too much, then you can consider using kingdom resolution
11 months ago

>make sure you set the kingdom management on effortless difficulty
Does that impact the timed stuff? I hear a lot of people talk about a lot of quests being on a timer so I've been thinking of playing WotR and avoiding Kingmaker primarily because of that. People said WotR timers are more lenient.
Anonymous
No, it affects the difficulty of the rolls while using kingdom management. The timers will still be there, each major arc gives you like 200+ days to solve the main questline your kingdom is going through, but it's more than enough provided you don't rest after every fight like a moron
I like both Larian and Owlcat games. Can't wait to play Warhammer when it releases, the beta was good.

10 times better than the bg3 zoomerslop. I am sorry pathfinder.
Nah man cyberpunk is the superior rpg
If that's the case, then it must be true that pic related is better than Pathfinder.
Right?
Are you shitting on Geneforge? Geneforge is based.
Who knew one of the 75 people that played this dogshit posted here. Why am I not surprised.
Might be, heard that Geneforge is a good rpg, but it doesn't have the exposure of BG3. So I don't know much about it.
you aren't as smart as you think you are.
I mean yes, geneforge is kino.
so cyberpunk is better than both. Mass appeal boring shit.
2 hours of BG3 shit made me replay this
Same.
ok. mommy? ok. mommy? ok. mommy? ok. mommy? ok. mommy? ok. mommy?
I kneel wrath. I used to think that Kingmaker was a masterpiece and wrath was underwhelming, but I didn't realize just how bad the writing was in the rest of the industry. It's not even fair to compare it to bg3, it beats it in everything(yes, even character customization).
Just finished first playthrough at 120 hours, Now doing a non mounted Cavalier, should I go full angel or demon into legend?
Demon into Legend will always be superior but that's if you do it in a specific way. Trickster into legend is broken as frick tho
Normal spear or long spear for that dragoon look?
Glaive, or Fauchard.
Longspears.
>dragoon
The cuck archetype, play a real man's class like dark knight or paladin
Dragoon is superior to both
Tell that to Rosa
Don't care, didn't ask. Here's a Dragoon ready to do some dragooning killing all the dragon waifugays
SWARM
THAT
WALKS
>Swarm that walks
I hate this mythic path's name. Locusts can already walk. There's nothing special about it.
Should have been The Consoomer.
Demon > legend of course
>class: fighter
>path: legend
>name: john pathfinder
Calling yourself John Pathfinder is like somebody being named Joe Archeologist
or Karl Schumacher
Joe Smith is a sensible name, Joe Mapmaker is weird.
>Demon -> Legend
>Primalist/demonslayer
>Lann, Daeran, Ember, Arueshalae, Woljif
>Romance Arueshalae
Yep, it's gaming time
So the way I understand Arcane Strike is you get a flat +5 to damage, it just cost a Swift Action. +5 to damage is equivalent to what Greater Weapon Focus, or Weapon Specialization?
Isn't it only +1?
Just started it yesterday, why do 8/10 attacks miss?
Because of pathfinder ruleset. You have to apply 50+ buffs.
Kino.
>people all praise this game
>it's completely unplayable without the BUBBLES mod
Very cool
It's not unless you play on unfair.
you don't need to buff unless your playing on hard. i completed Daring on first playthrough as a angel without even knowing you can increase Arue damage with hurricane bow or even using the all in one buff that angel has when you merge with Cleric.
you didn't buff up bro.
>Retraining with the ingame option takes a day
Damn I didn't know that
Here. Went with the Vampire race to simulate yoshis soul stealing ability.
>+5 dex
>+4 attack
(2 bab, 1 masterwork?, 1 str)
HOLY SHIT TAKE WEAPON FINESSE IF YOU GO DEX
Ok yeah without weapon finesse you'll use your strength bonus on attack rolls which is just a +1. You also want at least 14 int on a Vanguard Slayer since your 4th level ability lasts for a number of rounds equal to your int bonus.
Can I get it down the line?
yes. and post your build if your having trouble.
that i agree. the effort they put on making these shitty managment minigame can be used to make something else. sadly RT will also have shitty management
>RT will also have shitty management
,OWLCAT NOOONOOOOO
I played the beta. It's really not that bad. I'd even go as far as to say that I liked it.
I like the crusade after my second playthrough, even the battles are growing on me.
Now if they can just find a way to do it without having three versions of the map screen and a 5 second loading screen swapping between them (???? did not one the devs stop and ask if that was really necessary when they actually stopped pushing code and tried to play it?)
>sadly RT will also have shitty management
i don't understand whats the fricking point of adding shit no one likes.
They like it
I'm new to WOTR, what exactly is the point of having an auto battle option for the minigame if you always lose the battles?
there isn't, you also miss out on items and events. it sucks we know.
So what actually happens when you put it on auto-battle from the beginning of the game? Will you just soft lock yourself from progressing because you keep losing battles in the minigame and eventually can't progress in the story?
what? you don’t lose any battle when the crusade is set to auto. the battles basically just dont happen for you during the campaign and you can adventure at your leisure. enemy forts that block off certain regions are removed either by reaching certain points in the story, or just on a timer
if you put it on auto mod you miss out on the crit axe and the unholy fire belt. don't do it. just hire Setsuna and kill everyone with scorching rays.
There is no point, it's shit and you're better off getting Setsuna Shy asap so he can carry the entire thing, or just mod it and win everything automatically
>sadly RT will also have shitty management
just why? who is the Black person who actually love these minigames
Pretty sure they said they like it and it's the main reason why they adapted Kingamker and WotR
sooo does that mean they are gonna adapt strength of thousands so we can now manage an entire school?
>Magic school
Sounds pretty stupid if you want to play a fighter
the next game they're making is jade regent trust me
That's not how you spell Ruins of Azlant.
you get a unique spellbook so you can cast spells even if you are a barbarian or fighter from the AP.
>harry potter magic school
can i get to frick my students as a teacher? that will be the deciding factor if i will buy it or not .
I'd rather be the student and frick my teacher
knowing Owlcat you probably will be the student before some big tragedy happens to the principal and you have to become the principal because you and him know each other form back than and he knew you were the person to be put in charge when shit hit the fan
I kneel. this game clearly has the superior tieflings and succubus girl
Using toybox to recruit repurposed enemies is fun.
I refunded it. BG3 too
Is it weird that I enjoy the Owlcat games as well as Baldur's Gate 3?
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when every single discussions of these games turn into a tribalism shitflinging contest.
its literally just one autist from /vg/ that hates all crpgs other than owlcat and samegays arguments vs himself. he's mentally ill and also shitposts in gacha generals and is generally on Ganker 24/7
Some people like me just hate 5e for being shit and after they pulled that ogl shit decided to actually refuse to buy any and all wizards products.
no you are not mentally ill and enjoy different games. i do hope Owlcat take some pointers from Larian gameplay and Larian learns how to create good companions like some of the Wotr cast
you have to realize that Ganker users dont actually play any of these games, dont care about anything they shitpost about and just want a place to shitpost freely. if you play either of these games you realize just how many people just straight up lie about them
Everyone is stealing your data(read the licence you acepted when you bought BG3 for example).
SEXOOOOO
>No cute demon girls (good) in BG3
It was never a competition..
Karlach is a good barb teifling girl.
Tieflings aren't demons, and in that case she's a devil tiefling not a demon one
Know the difference you racist chud
>one million body count
>one million body count + bible
frick off
>can't frick the succubus girl into being your good wife
shit game.
Das rite whyte boy
what the frick are you on about? you can frick Arue when she becomes a Azata or if you corrupt her(not romancable tho) and if you are talking about the bg3 succ you can also frick her.
>if you pick evil options it corrupts her and breaks her romance
>if you pick horny options it breaks her romance
Jesus this girl is way too high maintenance for a literal succubus.
Have you tried not being so horny?
well that's how her romance works. you are suppose to make her horny for you by holding hands and sweet talking her. not screaming sexo and creep her out.
>by holding hands and sweet talking her
Jesus I'm chaotic good, not a fricking evil psycho that shits fricked up.
Jokes aside though all the female romances are way too hard in this game, whereas gay gays literally can't stop trying to get into bed with you.
>camelia will bribe sex you but shes literally a murderpsycho
>arue needs like to pick 20 correct dialogue options and only romanceable by act 5
>wendu is also evil and will betray you unless again you pick all the right dialogue choices
>the queen is a shitbag and extremely incompetent to boot
Did I miss anyone?
>only romanceable by act 5
The romance starts in act 3 and you outright get the option to break up with her after the jail quest (which is usually considered thet point where the relationship in-game gets serious)
>by holding hands
jesus christ. what a degenerate
Angel-path Human Male Paladin with Arue
Ancient Oath Human Male Paladin with Shadowheart
Simple as
literally me.
based.
I have no idea why you would play pally compared to cleric-crusader which supercharges their spell book through mythic merge to get the BEST buffs in the game super early
I don't. i just go full Oracle with some Paladin levels and let it rip with smite evil and various buffs.
yes. fix the goddamn game first than make shitty dlc Owlkek
Move on homosexual, fixing a shitty ending (yes, a, because there is nothing wrong with Camelia's) is simple and takes no effort, it has no bearing on the DLC, they haven't done it because they don't want to, the sooner you accept it the better
>A minor ending slide
>"fix the game"
There are more important things to fix
You morons are such drama queens, I don't like it either but it's not that bad, open the fricking script file and edit it yourself
the third worst thing to come out of russia if russia was anything like what people think they would've been banned from operating there since their inception
are you moronic? the audience for both these games are the exact same people
KEKmaker is better. Both are below average though.
What's a CRPG that you'd recommend being above average then?
Easy. Change the C to a J. Now we're talking.
I actually just finished playing through FFIV for the first time before I started my BG3 playthrough.
I doubt there's a ton of overlap between CRPG and JRPG fans though.
The classics. Fallout 1, Baldur's Gate 1/2, Torment, etc etc. Neither of the Pathfinder games can even compare to the brilliance of the classics, especially in the writing department.
Fallout 1 is garbage and Kingmaker beats it in every regard.
Fallout 2 is the shitty one, Fallout 1 is a masterpiece.
https://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/pathfinder-kingmaker
73 by critics, 74 by players. Literal garbage game that nobody considers playable outside of your /vg/ and /vrpg/ circlejerk. It's fricking shit while Fallout 1 is one of the greatest vidya of all time. Cope.
>using metacritic score
>i-it doesnt COUNT okay?! the sales dont count, the critics dont count, the player reviews dont count...
What counts?
>uhm... uhmmm..... its JUST GOOD OKAY?!
Why are owlshills like this? You have a war to fight ivan, get back to it.
>What counts?
One's own critical thinking skills
Obviously you lack any reason or capability of forming thought since you like literal shovelware russian slop that copies old CRPGs and fails at every aspect of transporting a tabletop experience worth playing on a computer.
if you're gonna cite FO1/2 and torment as having great gameplay, let alone mediocre, you're trolling.
both pathfinder games are a terrible boring slog
what's the gimmick of trickster?
Crits and telling demons to kill themselves now. the path content is boring tho.
Improved improved improved critical
one thing that owlcat manages to do and no one else does is actual make the game feel like a campaign (obviously helps that their games are adapted APs)
bg3 and really, any other crpg feel like adventures, no sense of time, of distance, of long term progression and scale
Kingmaker was fricking goated at this, you really felt like you start as nothing and YEARS later you became a near god
bg1-2-tob is the only other that comes close
>you really felt like you start as nothing and YEARS later you became a near god
Need more crpgs (or games in general) like this
playing Aeon currently and thinking off going 6 demonsalyer 14 Inquisitor, yay or nay? Also why is everyone glowing like a light bulb with star maps?
If they glow blue they have violated the laws of that land, you can confront them on that.
pathfinder games would be 10000000x better if they never had the shitty management games
i’ve never understood posts like this. you can just turn them off in the menu. if you don’t like them, why would you go out of your way to choose to do them?
>you can just turn them off in the menu bro.
>lose all the good shit like passion sweet kiss, mallander belt and grave singer bro.
>just lose the ability to do the secret ending bro.
>troony game talking shit about the other troony game
for frick sake...
WHERE IS GUNSLINGER CLASS YOU OWLKEK SUBHUMAN AAAAAHHHH
It still worse than bg 3. Atleast a bg 3 writer don't have a cuckold fetish and don't make all female companions talk about getting dicked in the past when you romance them.
>Can't mating press Nurah until she's loyal to The Commander
>Paizo is writing out all mention and reference to slavery with zero explanation despite it being baked into the lore of Asmodeus' faith
>Can't tell Iomadae where to shove it and kick her ass despite the Commander being capable of doing it by the end of the game
I'm not buying the next Pathfinder.
>despite the Commander being capable of doing it by the end of the game
lol
>despite the Commander being capable of doing it by the end of the game
there is a big difference between an actual god and a mythic demigod. you can fight Iomedae and probably win with the help of your other demi-god companions but it would be a very tough fight.
Yeah, but the Commander did the one thing she couldn't. Kick the ever loving shit out of the Abyss
Not sure how it would go without an OP build.
i unironically think this game is more woke than bg3 and its in annoying cancer way.
You clearly have no idea what you're talking about
Good relics for melee? I finished the game without bothering with them, just drops and vendor stuff. I heard there's gear crafting but never found it too.
Grave singer and soulshear(demonic)
>I finished the game without bothering with them
You have no idea what you missed
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2608364853
Holy frick, how much did I gimp my character? What else am I missing? Now I want to achieve big numbers
The game expects you to use one of the pregen characters if you know nothing about the system.
use a premade character
>Is there like a primer I could read somewhere
yes read the fricking tooltips and combat log in game
>I actually needed DEX to land spells instead of INT
you need dex to land ranged attacks
some spells do ranged attacks, others dont
just use spells that dont do attacks if you dont have dex
>just use spells that dont do attacks
Wouldn't that mean I can't do any damage as a mage without DEX then?
>Wouldn't that mean I can't do any damage as a mage without DEX then?
no
lots of damage spells dont do attacks but instead require saves, like fireballs
have you tried READING the tooltips and spell descriptions?
I wish some of this was actually described in game and you didn't have to dig through a PDF manual or DnD rulebook
>I wish some of this was actually described in game and you didn't have to dig through a PDF manual or DnD rulebook
everything is described in game
It's a video game, not a novel.
I obviously meant described through in-game mechanics and not just reading through 100 different tooltips
are you one of those zoomers that will watch a video with some music and big letters on screen instead of reading a fricking article when you need to pay your taxes or some shit?
>Are you fricking moronic?
no but you must be for linking a pf2 rule in a discussion about pf1 games
Do you want to shut up already or do you want me to shove a dick in your mouth?
https://aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?Name=Spell%20Attack%20Rolls&Category=Active%20Spellcasting
>When casting a spell or using a magical effect that allows a saving throw, the caster makes a spell attack roll, rolling 1d20 with a bonus equal to her spellcasting ability modifier plus the spell’s level. Any bonuses that would normally make the spell more difficult to avoid (such as the Spell Focus feat) also apply.
Here's your 1e, see how it says
>with a bonus equal to her spellcasting ability modifier
Or do you want to ask someone to wipe the shit out of your eyes?
>Pathfinder unchained
>Active Spellcasting
Linking weird variant rules that were never brought into general play doesn't make you right.
>unchained rules
holy shit you really have no idea what you're talking about do you?
do I need to explain it further? or are you gonna keep trying to google shit you don't understand?
do you need me to post a screenshot from the game?
https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=297
>unchained rules
You might want to stop randomly linking stuff before reading it bro.
If it's something that just makes people explode, dex is not needed
Stuff like lasers and such need to be aimed and thus need dex
Fireballs and other aoes don't count cause it's more of a "frick this general direction" thing
>things that need to be aimed need dex
>throwing a ball of fire doesn't need to be aimed
I'm not sure I really buy that explanation. Why can't you just widen the lazer and shoot it in a general direction to not require dex?
Cause a laser is based arround precision
A fireballs doesn't need to hit something directly to explode it
You can't cast a laser at the darkness and hope to hit the grue
A fireballs on the other hand will fry the grue, the paladin and the rogue
Huh?
Magic classes use spell attack to land their attacks, not their proficiency with ranged/melee.
They depend fully on their main casting stat, like INT for Wizard
we're talking about pathfinder not 5e
yes, i'm talking about pathfinder
to land your spells you either use spell attacks or your spell DC, which include your main ability modified, which would be INT for Wizard
Are you fricking moronic?
https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=325
>All these people that think owlcat will ever go back to pathfinder
lol
Why wouldn't they?
Didn't owlcat already lose their license and control over Kingmaker so they don't update it anymore?
Sure, but Kingmaker is Kingmaker, WotR still keeps getting updates and DLC
That was because Owlcat's former parent company holds the rights to Kingmaker and when they set off on their own they couldn't take it with them.
Because they have much better options now?
They might go back to pathfinder, but I highly doubt it.
I'm hoping for warhammer fantasy rpg.
wait, really?
They lost them to their original employers. At the time of kingmaker's development and release, they all still worked at mail.sru
Paizo refused to keep working together. Owldead
They made a lot of money and have a system built that they just need to create new assets for. The only reason not to make another pathfinder game would be Paizo revoking the license which hasn't happened.
>crpg resurgence
Is there any hope for an "immersive sim" resurgence?
nope. nu deus ex was the only good imm sim we got in this decade and it was unfinished.
What I played of gloomwood was good, not out yet however.
I just want them to drop the new DLC and archetypes, and not give me spyware.
Owlcat has yet to make a dlc worth making. I hate that I have FOMO so I consume their garbage fricking standalone shit I'm not interested in. I wish they'd just add normal fricking DLCs that connect to the main campaign instead of that meme garbage nobody likes.
frick the main campaign, more roguelike DLCs like Treasure of the Midnight Isles.
>DLCs that connect to the main campaign
That's literally what their last DLC was
Wait, no, let me guess, it doesn't count because it wasn't a girl
Yes, it doesn't fricking count, especially since they have YET to improve Arue or Cam endings.
>REEEEEEE WE NEED MORE DLC THAT INCLUDES CONTENT FOR THE MAIN CAMPAIGN
>Here it is bro, sorry for making the first three DLC garbage
>NOOOO I DON'T CARE FIX MY WAIFUS ENDINGS
If you don't like romance then don't even add romance in your vidya. Better to have nothing than to have borderline unfinished trash endings. Owlcat completely fricked up their PR with that spyware bullshit and they still don't give anything back and don't offer any fan service. I am definitely not buying Rogue Trader and being a idiot again, pirating that shit from gog-games.to.
>spyware
This shit is literally in every fricking game.
About 80% of your library has similar or literally exact same shit.
I don't hate pathfinder it's just given their entire history I doubt they will only make pathfinder.
If they wanted to do the same cash grab over and over again they probably would have stayed in mail.sru and stayed out of basically dead genre.
Is Aeon like dr fate? a champion of order made to fight chaos
Is doctor fate a cosmic jannie? never read the comics but liked his design
The writing is so bad it's embarrassing
How do you gays tolerate that shit?
Soul....
>come join our grooming troony discord
>soul
Um...owlcatbros, our response?
So based off these replies, I guess I'm justified being confused that I can't land spells with INT instead of DEX because even the referenced rules are conflicting with each other.
Do I trust the in game tooltips or do I have to reference outside sources? Which is correct?
>Ranged touch attack
Wow this is so hard to understand.
Game
It either works like game says
Or it works in some weird way
Or it doesn't work at all
>ranged
>touch
Actually this is kind of confusing. How do you touch something from a range? I thought touches were melee stuff.
>Fortitude halves strength penalty
I have no idea what this means. I thought I needed DEX or INT. Now I need STR too? Or Fortitude?
It says a "fortitude save" does that mean my fortitude stat or the enemy's?
>ranged
a ranged attack uses dex
>touch
a touch attack ignores armor AC, only your dodge/dex/other magical stuff helps you evade it. Imagine how hard it is to touch a gigantic monster, not pierce its armor. That's what touch AC represents (just your overall ac minus the part from having thick armor)
>fortitude save
this is basic stuff, targets make saves to avoid or reduce harmful effects. The DC (difficulty class, or the number you have to beat) depends on the power of the spell/spellcaster.
READ THE FRICKING RULES
>READ THE FRICKING RULES
So I guess people were lying when they said I don't have to read the rule book and all was available in game. This is why this game seems so confusing to me.
Which rulebook am I supposed to read before I can play a Pathfinder game?
No you jackass. People told you to read the tooltips which cover all this stuff.
But the tooltip for the spell was linked here
and it doesn't go into anything that was outlined here
Here's fortitude and touch AC
Ranged touch attack is like touch attack but ranged
It all makes sense when you're actually playing the game
BG3 does.
Owlcat removed that shit after uproar.
I read that this game collects and sells data from your PC
What are some cool late game touch spells to use with spellstrike?
Vampiric Touch and Empowered Vampiric Touch
Fug. There must be more to life.
I was using bestow greater curse. It seems very cool having a sword that curses enemies with whopping -12 to stats when it hits them.
Curses are save or suck spells so they fall off on higher difficulties when your gish class can't hit high enough DC, Vampiric Touch and Force Punch will do damage with no save to prevent it as long as you hit with it.
empowered heightened shocking grasp
>nobody can clearly explain how the game works
jesus frick owlcat put this in game
kys
>a rogue is better at casting scorching ray than a wizard is
This seems really dumb for some reason
You still need to hit with that ray.
I guess next time I try a Wizard I'll look up the spells I'm allowed to use with INT. I figured I could become adept at all spells as a spellcaster
You can just take some dex to your wizard.....
Learn to read before you play video games
a rogue can't cast scorching ray
a dexterous wizard is better at aiming a ray than a less dexterous one, yes
a more intelligent wizard is better at making a fireball than a less intelligent one
it's called a system that allows different scenarios to be represented
unlike 5e where you can be prone, grappled, restrained, and 20 other shit and the only thing that happens is "disadvantage" causing your players to go wtf, he can still dodge me? he can still prevent me from touching him with my inflict wounds? etc
what you think the spell comes with a targeting system. learn to aim your rays scrub
Weird that this description doesn't mention at all that your dexterity modifier also adds to your initiative roll.
it's in the initiative page.
Does this game not have contextual encyclopedia pages where I can click on "Dexterity" and it takes me to that page?
No, contextual encyclopedia is for lore only.
That's unfortunate. Thanks
>why doesnt the game explain
thanks bro
Remember. Aivu is best dragon
I tried Pathfinder but I got extremely filtered as someone who has never played any tabletop games before.
were the WOTR slav devs fans of HoMM 2?
there is almost no counter play the demon army can do to good wiz general
yes. they are slavs after all
scratch that, they probably rounded up the last of the living HoMM5 devs
Some developers at owlcat worked on homm5
Yeah
>angel armies dont get taxpayers for mad dosh
If I have a spell made available via two spellbooks and they're both spontaneous casters, how the hell do I pick which should show up in my uhm.. handbook?
you drag and drop the, you can use the ',metamagic'' window to add borders and shit to them too so you recognise them.
But I can't open the spell bar while the spellbook is open. Where do I need to drag and drop it to?
GIving it metamagic would be a good idea if I had any
Before i go further i normaly demand money when i'm dealing with the mentally ill or other mongoloid.
all the spells you have castable will show up in the quick menu, duplicated if you have them from multiple classes/sources
Doesn't seem to be the case. I have a few duplicate spells from being lazy with my level ups and I don't seem to have a single dupe.
If I remove ampiric strike from my magus spellbook using toybox I get the sorc version instead in the quick menu.
All these rules is too confusing for me, I just turn down the difficulty so I pretty much always hit lmao.
i would rather play Dragon age Origins
>Act 4 and 5
>no autobuff build in
>shitty HoMM knockoff
No I don't think so.
>zero actually look looking straigh white male npcs or companions
>every important character or character in position of power is female or black
>99% of companions are gay, black or generic strong wyman
no thanks
Sosiel is my favorite character because he's a doormat and fuels my white power fantasy of owning a Black person slave
Sosiel just needs a portrait change to a better looking black femboy.
Daeran is white with a tan, Woljif's human family members are all white, Lann is white, Greybor is white, Regill is white, and Ulbrig is white. Of them the only "gay" ones are Daeran who's a degen and treated as such by everyone and Ulbrig who is playersexual.
>the nigs get the best classes with domain and smite bots
What games do people like you even play where you just desire a genocide simulator where you play as Hitler
I'll never understand this
Dominions 5: Warriors of the Faith
The game is a powerwank where the MC is just better than everyone else. If you don't make a straight white male character that's on you.
Both DnD and Pozzfinder are bottom of the barrel systems.
I love both WotR and BG3. Suck my dick.
>Suck my dick.
frick off astarion I thought I killed you
BG3 level design is better, I like the timed mechanics and events on owlcat games. Both have good and bad aspects.
>BG3 level design is better
I love pointless jumping and verticality mechanics, it's so fun! I'm somewhat enjoying the game so far, but that's one of the most annoying parts about it.
I love verticality and exploration and most people loves it, see Elden Ring. You will need to deal with it.
>most people loves it
Maybe form your own opinions esl dog
>see Elden Ring
It's a fast paced action game, running around in Elden Ring is snappy and intuitive, it's just janky and clunky in a crpg
Cope, you will see more platforming elements and jumping from now on.
And they're still gonna be shit
Honestly this game could be a lot better with just a few basic dialogue and quest mods
It's taking too long
>That filename
It worked OP, your thread didn't die
Is there a feat or mythic feat that lets alchemists give their cognatogen to other characters?
>Mogs ever theme in your path
Legend and aeon are better
frick off Azata gay. Aeon rocks
I initially wanted to pick aeon, but then when you are introduced to them the first time at market square, it turns out the last aeon came down and got immediately cleaved by deskari lmao.
Why the frick would I want to join the faction who got rekt by the demon lord I'm trying to kill in the first place?
>but then when you are introduced to them the first time at market square, it turns out the last aeon came down and got immediately cleaved by deskari lmao.
yeah what a jobber that guy is. because he is (you) from a alt timeline who wants you to become a Aeon like him
>alt timeline
Literally marvel tier slop writing
Imagine being so fricking obsessed with marvel you think they invented time travel or alternate universes
>spoiler
Well I didn't know that, but that's still pretty pathetic lmao. Do they even have a patreon deity like Iomedae or Desna?
>Getting killed by one of the strongest demon lords is pretty pathetic haha
Are you fricking moronic?
>deskari
>one of the strongest strongest demon lord
Not even close. Lamashtu is the only one to achieve divinity, and Nocticula could have as well. Deskari's only feat in-game was killing a silver dragon which isn't even that impressive given the player party could have done the same by mid-game ish. By end game you clubbed deskari so hard he died.
Cool, you just mentioned two of the three demon lords that are stronger than him, the other being his dad Pazuzu
Yes Deskari is one of the strongest
>playing Aeon
>suddenly a 12-foot tall diablo boss shows up and offers me a contract to sell my soldier soul
should i decline or not?
>spoiler
what the frick! are you telling me the aeon was literally me?
that's a shitty path, save it for later
Shit or not I still went for it because I wanted to be LE and I didn't like being a lawtisic robot with no feelings
I had the opposite problem with trickster, the scene where you unlock it was the sole reason I chose the path but I ended up hating it
guess I got tricked
Is there any tool that allows one to make edits to the item models in wrath or kingmaker?
you can. using using .json files patches like i did. i still don't know how to create a merged patch tho. well try after i get some free time
What do you want to do?
A bit of 3d modeling, mostly removing certain parts from a few armors models to see if theyd look better
Maybe also make certain weapons i think theyre too visually small longer
Not touching stats of armor or the reach mechanics of weapons- i just care for visuals
i want to apologise and play it turn based next time
Correct way to play is switching between tb and rtwp depending on the difficulty of the fight.
>Mogged by bg3 out of existence
Yes mam. I apologise.
should I play kingmaker first or is it ok to start with wotr
90% of the encounters are the fricking same demons
I fricking hate 5e but that's not a good example
i feel like am talking to a lawyer rather than a big evil devil. atleast the demons are honest and don't pretend they are anything more than murderhobos
Just sign the contract, goy
>I feel like I am talking to a devil rather than a big evil devil
???
Anon this post makes no sense. Lawyers are evil devils
so what you are saying is that israelites are devils? make sense i suppose. guess Hitler was a paladin after all
So what was Greyboor's beef with Arue beyond the obvious danger of having a demon nearby, because the hostility felt a lot more personal than that in his banter
manlet malding over someone asking why he had to act like an edgelord all the time
>edgelord
Hes not the egdelord of the party though? Wenduag's the one with the most tryhard banter ive ever heard. And Cam Cam is an actual psycho
He's literally a *teleports behind you* assassin. Change him from manlet to human or tiefling and he's 100% an edgelord
He's mad because he's afraid of changing too and going back to be a family man
a Demon can change her nature but a stubborn idiot like him can't.
is having sons the ultimate cuckoldry?
Think about it logically.
>busting criminals and passing judgment as a Aeon
>Melies just tells you to spare the criminal because they will be useful
>Irebeth on the other hand just wants to execute very last one of them
why do we hate Orc paladin lass again?
>Defaults to kill kill kill instead of making people useful
Sounds pretty cringe to me bro
but i thought people here loved murderhobo paladins. well /tg/ seems to love them because Gygax headcanon is that paladin are just idiotic zealots who can't think
I believe in giving one chance of mercy and redemption.
One.
Essential mods before I start playing a Pathfinder game for the first time?
Preferably things that don't make the game harder because I'm already enough of a brainlet.
An autobuff mod and bag of tricks/toybox
So looking into bag of tricks, it just seems like an in-game cheat engine. Is this basically used to tweak settings how you want them or are there specific things I should probably do like removing inventory encumbrance
No, just play the game as is, but it's good have just in case particularly in WotR with how buggy these games are
Ah, gotcha. So like having the console in a Bethesda game as a fallback. Makes sense.
Also since you're going to play Kingmaker make sure you set the kingdom management on effortless difficulty, and if even then it's too much, then you can consider using kingdom resolution
>make sure you set the kingdom management on effortless difficulty
Does that impact the timed stuff? I hear a lot of people talk about a lot of quests being on a timer so I've been thinking of playing WotR and avoiding Kingmaker primarily because of that. People said WotR timers are more lenient.
I really can't get into Obsidian CRPGs though, POE is boring as frick. They should do Alpha Protocol 2 instead.
Obsidian lost their good writers, now they only have morons who can't write for shit.
