Zombies in Days Gone are literally just beefed up humans. Normal zombie shouldn't stand a chance against 2 shotgun shells to the chest. It's comical when same zombie dies to a single pistol headshot.

this absolutely pissed me the frick off. i found a mod that fixes it but in order for it to work you had to start a new game and i was already like 40% through it, dropped the game and i dont think ill ever touch it again

Weapon crafting is useless when you can find the strongest weapon laying around a hub area
Fighting hordes are fun but takes quite a while before you really can fight them
Story kinda sucks most of the time, the whole being a drifter stuff gets abandoned rather early and eventually you have to live in a camp filled with characters that belong in a Netflix series.
what's the ratio of horde gameplay to story bullshit? I probably won't give a single shit about crafting or the reddit characters but is the game still fun enough to justify
There are plenty of horde and survival stuff but like I said, they locked a lot of tools to fight horde until late into the game.
You start off as a drifter-like guy, going from camp to camp to take jobs, but eventually cause story reasons you had to stay in a camp. Tons of mission full of melodrama and bullshit, I actually cheered when the camp gets attacked later.
Honestly if you can't stomach the sappy Netflix drama story you better avoid this game.
The way they handled Deacon's reunion with his wife almost made me want to stop. I'm glad I stuck with it, but that might have been the worst possible way to handle that they could have gone with. Genuinely blown away how that was the where they settled.
Outside of that, the pacing and the story were great, though not perfect. Too many story-lines ended without a satisfying peak (Iron Mike just kind of shrugs off us blowing up the dam?) though I'm glad they stuck with a serious tone throughout. I'll never understand why the voice acting didn't get higher praise, it was fantastic. The setting was perfect for the game and brought the right mix of characters together for the story they wanted to tell.
The world content was a bit lacking; I didn't really like blowing through camp after camp (after camp after...) screaming about how they were drifter scum only to freak out when we find the militia planning the same thing. The way the game handled the hordes was *amazing* though. Felt like an actual threat for most of the game then gives you ways to handle them after you've opened most of the map. Great tension throughout, satisfying landing when you get strong enough to take them out.
Overall, gutted that it won't be getting a sequel. Guess I'll just have to look forward to 'game remake #1452'
Deek shifted between fantastic voice acting to screaming like a schizophrenic at the oddest and most jarring times. Hardest part of the game was finding fuel, getting any of the extra skills trivialized fighting, but I still had fun

The game has strong woman with her gf a black doctor woman who's also strong. To be fair you have to play around ten hours to reach that part which probably is too much for journos.
