Yeah, AM5 is really solid, non X chips are pretty damn efficient, and the 7800X3D/7950X3D are as good as it gets
even a 7500F or a 7700 will offer excellent performance and handle a higher end GPU like a 4080S or 7900XTX >GPUs
can be worth it if you don't care about RT performance/DLSS and other nvidia features, but some cards are really difficult to recommend like the 7600/XT and 7900XTX
t. been running full AMD since 2020 and have been very happy with it
Nothing really, but as of late it's been hardly any cheaper than the 4080/Super which offers very close rasterization performance, DLSS which is actually pretty nice at 4K, and tends to draw a little less power as well
the extra vram on the XTX isn't all that useful compared to the 4080's 16, and the memory bandwidth isn't *that* much better due to Nvidia having G6X
That being said, if you can get the XTX for non-neglibly cheaper than the 4080S, it's a perfectly fine choice
and I say that knowing I'd buy the XTX over the 4080/S since I don't wanna give up on adrenalin
Never bought a Nvidia GPU.
DLSS seems completely pointless when it's not actual frames and I already get 120fps at 2k in the most GPU intensive titles like Total Warhammer 3, Cyberpunk, or Red Dead Redemption 2
That has nothing to do with Nvidia. Elden Ring stutters on AMD as well cause DX12 fricking sucks ass. This can't be fixed with different hardware.
Only Linux doesn't have this issue cause Linux users use DXVK. Which works on both Nvidia and AMD. And technically nothing stops you from using DXVK on Windows as well but Windows users are Windows users for a reason. They would rather cry and demand Fromsoft fix their shitty DX implementation than apply a fix on their own.
People who complain about GPU issues are generally incompetent.
Sure, there can be faulty GPUs but even the worst among the worst GPU lines have a 2-3% early fail rate at best. On average it's way below 1%. The chance that you buy a faulty GPU is incredibly unlikely.
Most people who suffer from instabilities, bluescreen, stutters and crashes simply did something wrong. Either they didn't make a clean driver install, or their PSU is faulty/too weak resulting in instability, or they are some of the morons who think they understand computers better than others and play around with the voltage settings and over/underclock after watching some pajeets youtube guide on how to do it.
t. guy who has been switching between Team Red and Team Green for decades
cpus have been consistently good for a while now
gpus... they kinda missing the mark.
amd cant keep up with the nvidia features, much to my dismay, and bearing in mind a 7900 gre and a 4070 super cost almost the same for me it would be kinda dumb to go for the gre
low vram aside ofc
amd driver crashed when you switch tab focus between games/browsers still but at least you dont need to restart your pc anymore and it autocorrects itself (still crashes the game though)

what's wrong with 7900XTX aside from price?

CPU: AMD
GPU: nvidia
Intel x Nvidia forever
only when 9000x3d hits

I want 4k doe.
You don't even seem to know what DLSS is.
Nvidia shader stutters like hell on Windows. So does AMD but AMD Linux drivers dont have this issue and they run 15-30% faster than Windows on top.
>Nvidia shader stutters like hell on Windows
nah. straight up lies
doesnt happen on ste(amd)eck
happens on your 3090/4090
no it doesn't. don't talk shit.
GEE I WONDER WHY

Open source renderers are not a fix. They're cancer like all open source software. It needs to be stamped out.
oh look , no stutter you lying little homosexual
I bought AMD once
once.

shader caching isn't some ancient voodoo magic that only open source linux devs have figured out...
Of course not. But the fact remains that Fromsoft won't patch Elden Rings DX in order to get rid of the stuttering. It will always be an issue.

now that nvidia is abandoning gamers, AMD is really the only choice
Only if you're using Linux
