Are you enjoying the game? I am but Im was outta the Madness loop for a while and didnt play the original Nexus Proyect.
Whats the point of the Virtual Training simulator? You unlock stuff if you made it to a level or its just infinite?

Also you only unlock gear for unarmed but no weapons like brass knuckles or power fist?

Just finished the Arena mode yesterday will go through the campaign soon. It's a rough game and I don't think it captures the spirit of the original series 100% (which is why I think it's a good idea they decided to make it basically a separate reality) but it's still a solid game with admirable effort put into it - once the combat flow clicked for me, I was having a blast. So far my only complaint would be the lakcluster AI, some bugs and the fact that grinding skills (especially Acrobatics) in the Arena is such a slog.

You can buy Unarmed gloves from the Quartermaster - they're in the Accessories section but they do reduce your other stats like rate of fire and so on.

its a great game. The VR training is just a reference to original arena in Project Nexus classic. It's ok for testing out new gear but since there is no death penalty when you die, just avoid it after the tutorial. You need to get to wave 10 to get any real EXP, so youre better off playing on the foundry to farm

I see so there is no point in maxing out levels after the cap (Wave 12) No fancy unlocks. Im using the TV show as a farming spot

it's a good spot to farm, also the only unarmed weapons you can get are the gloves from Q-bert. Your damage also raises when you upgrade your strength and lethality

game is fantastic but theres 2 things im bothered with:
The dialogue/voice acting feels cringey, putting voices on the MCs feels really weird, and the writing of the dialogue can get shitty, like deimos saying "you have to help us, the nexus are evil!".

And im worried if theres going to be a modding scene in the game in the future, hopefully mods that add some content rather than some tweaks.

Campaign was alright, ending for it was pretty fun
Now the ARENA thats some good shit right there, I can see where the rest of their time went
Shit feels like a deserving continuation of the original Project Nexus arena mode
Better, more fun and more indepth
Hope they keep adding more things to it, like seasonal events maybe?
Or hell, maybe that zombie mode somewhere long down the line...
    I want to believe

Arena is wonderful and actually teaches you about the ins and outs of combat in this game, where story mode expects you to break your fingers from mashing m1 (or steamrolling everything with guns).

Kind of lacking in feedback and needs little refining in control.
Picking up weapons is a choir because of the low equip range, constantly bumping into hordes trying to pick up a screwdriver, and character not dropping empty main or off-hand guns when trying pick another.
Kill confirm is a bit lacklaster, the screen effect is great, but when there is a lot of enemies standing in your way it is a hard to tell who is dead or not, especially when low amount of weapons have a splashing impact.
Since this game is made on Unity, I am sure modding those issues would be easy, as well as receiving changes from devs themselves. After that, it is perfect.

I have an absurdly high amount of things to say about this game, both practically and philosophically, but it would absolutely reach character limit +3 times over and I'm much too lazy.

    >beat the arena mode and begin new game plus
    >every arena has to be beaten on tough again to play on madness
i understand losing everything before hand but really? i have to do this shit again?
i fricking hate tough difficulty, its such a slog in comparison to the frantic goodness of madness difficulty
thank frick i backed up my save beforehand

it really should be, the game is 100x more enjoyable knowing i don't have to shoot or stab the same dude for 5 minutes before he goes down

thats true, madness is better over tough mode, however if you use critical attacks (press m1 right before the attack lands) most but the toughest enemies fall in a couple of hits

Attach a bayonet, and you will successfully turned your gun into a polearm.

are bayonets affected by melee skill? because melee is agent's weak skill and i'm having hard time learning it

I thought it was fricking neat to see a childhood favourite but in 3d. I thought they nailed the artstyle.

And yeah story mode is a trap since arena is where you actually learn all the features of the game.
