I'll probably get Live-A-Live (I'd been wanting a remake since getting disappointed they didn't announce one at last year's concert), but Xeno 3 is strictly on the wait-and-see list. I've never been as taken with any of the Xenoblade games as others are and down the line when all the DLC is out there will almost certainly be a $30 bundle for both game and extras, IF it turns out to be worth it.
It's honestly the smart choice. Live A Live is a third party game at the end of the day, so even if it remains Switch exclusive, it would still be subject to sales, both physical and digital. For me, it's that, plus everything worth spoiling for Live a Live has been available for over 30 years, while Xenoblade will turn the Internet into a mine field for me for a couple of weeks.
boomer, just looks very soulful and I don't even like JRPGs normally, plus western and prehistory settings are the shit
hope it emulates well, can't see why it wouldn't but Kirby was fricking up on Yuzu for me yesterday
>frontloads the cutscenes in the first four chapters >after that you barely get 10 minutes between battles and that goes on for 14 chapters >battles can last up to an hour later on >THIS IS BASICALLY A VN
He’s right, anon. Over 50% of the game is dialogue. And the worst part is that the devs were too lazy to make actual cutscenes with animated characters, or even draw some nice portraits that change expressions. Instead, you get to watch a static overhead view of sprites standing around chatting for up to 20 minutes at a time, for literally every exchange of dialogue in the entire game. For $60. Even games from the ‘90s had more effort put into keeping viewers visually stimulated during long exchanges of dialogue.
Who of you killed the super boss in the demo of LAL? Is possible to reach the storage with the respawning ghosts in the demo (and they keep respawning even if you kill the ghost woman, it wasn't like that in the original) to level up without killing anybody and in this vid.
Besides showing the music in the demo, they show you how solo the super boss, is very annoying but possible.
Both. I enjoyed the LAL demo, but it felt like it threatened to be really repetitive past the opening hours. Is this the case for those that know the game or does the game change as each character’s story goes on?
As for Xeno, I’ve played since the Wii, so I’m going to get this one too. It already looks stronger than 2 was, so that’s a good sign for me. Not that 2 was bad, but it took way too long to get interesting, so I can imagine how non Xeno fans felt.
Are there more gameplay elements that get added to combat and non-combat gameplay or is what you see what you get from start to finish for each character?
Xenoblade has an auto-attack and AI-controlled teammates, but if you are not doing anything then you will lose every fight. Positioning, arts (special attacks), timing of those attacks, team comp, and sometimes even the environment all matter for combat. Try one of the older games on emulation.
Live a Live gives me octopath vibes... and that's a bad thing. Still don't understand why octopath is so loved when its so shit, and I play the fricking lowest of the low bog standard JRPGs.
>octopath is so loved
homie, what? Nobody loves it and it's widely agreed to be a disappointment due to the near complete lack of interaction between party members. I have never once seen any praise for it higher than "It's okay"
>near complete lack of interaction between party members
false. it's there but the moronic developers hid them in tales of style skits that only show depending on active party members. without a guide you have to blindly cycle through all the party members after every cutscene just to get the skit prompt.
Yes you can basically play any xenoblade game without having played others. They exist in parallel universes.
The only problem is that you might be too low IQ for xenoblade 3's combat system if you've never played 2. There are a lot of smooth brains out there that can't comprehend having highly customizable party setups.
from a directional stand point, its technically a setting where elements from every xenoblade game is present in one game, but that does not take away from the fact that xenoblade 3 is its own universe. Which is why the falseflaggers are homosexuals.
Lets be honest.
People can't read
Most people haven't played MMORPG's so the concept of cooldowns, skill, and gear management are things that are foreign to those people.
Yes. Takahashi said you can play it no problem even you've only played one Xenoblade or none at all, and Xenoblade games in general are pretty good at presenting strong standalone stories with a few non-vital callbacks for veterans.
I’m a boomer getting the zoomer game. I played the last 3 and they were all great.
Live a Live is not good. It’s not underrated; it was forgotten about for a good reason. Maybe 3 campaigns are entertaining, which is less than half of the game. Turn-based combat is something I enjoyed when I was a kid, but I can’t really tolerate it anymore; I don’t have the patience for plodding gameplay. The last chapter requires too much grinding, the voice acting in this remake is grating, and I’m not a fan of these HD2D games. They all feel cheap. $50 for what amounts to a fan project is insulting.
People are going to buy the game, and just like Octopath Traveler and Unlimited Saga Remastered they’re gonna play 3-4 campaigns and quit out of boredom.
Neither. I assume every Japanese game localization is compromised in some way, so I no longer play Japanese video games. I don't like most western games either so in the end I just don't play anything.
Honestly, the more I look at it, the more I'm not excited for Live A Live. Maybe it's because Xenoblade is just that hype for me, but Live A Live kinda like another Octopath Traveler (I know Live A Live came out first).
Try the Demo. I am going for Xenoblade first as well, but Live A Live is worth the try. Is worth mention that each character is almost it's own game on it's own (Not a "Mini game", but still it's own experience), and none of them is an standard JRPG experience at that, so again, is worth giving the Demo a try to see what you feel about it.
Both
Live A Live is pretty short, you can finish it in the week between when it comes out and XB3 comes out
Especially if you get a head start via the demo
Tried playing the first Xenoblade, the MMO gameplay doesn't really jive with me so I'll be skipping #3. Live A Live looks cool as frick though so I'll be definitely picking that up.
From the most recent Japanese trailer, there seems to be a decent amount of party chatter when they finally meet up. Was that in the original Super Famicom game?
Neither. I played LiveALive 20 years ago and it was 'ight. And I have no interest in Xeno games. I've given all of them but X and 2 a shot but I just don't vibe with 'em.
Talk to me when we get an HD-2D remake of Treasure of the Rudras or that weird famicom-satelite airship battle game.
Both
Lost my Live a Live save file like a decade ago after finishing 2 characters. The ninja level was so horse shit that I didn't even feel sad about it
Just find it the teensiest bit odd that we're going directly from Oersted in the Live A Live remake to what appears to be Melia and Nia being an Act 1 antagonist in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
from a directional stand point, its technically a setting where elements from every xenoblade game is present in one game, but that does not take away from the fact that xenoblade 3 is its own universe. Which is why the falseflaggers are homosexuals.
Neither, gaming is generally dead to me. Western shit is notoriously garbage and now the troonylator ~~*localization*~~ teams have been getting bolder and troonylations as a result even worse than ever before. Besides the fact that Xenoshit 3 is not a true successor and is the sanitized entry in the saga to please the good people over at Resetera. Now I lift and read between shitposts.
>I refuse to buy or play any games because [schizo delusions] >Wtf gaming is dead???
No, you're just a moron fishing for reasons to continue being angry on loop in your head while doing nothing.
>claims to just be jumping off now because "muh Black folk" >1 had Otharon >X had literal American black people >2 had a bunch of Abbo looking motherfrickers in Uraya
What did he mean by this?
I put up with that fricking Black person in XC1. Didn't stop me from 100% the game and doing all sidequests in anticipation for 3. Too bad 3 turned out to be a total disappointment. There is a huge difference between a one off NPC you hardly see after the first encounters and a party member who blacks the big titty girl. Besides the fact that the game has ethics committee stink all over it. XC2 was a love letter to boys everywhere, XC3 is for the fujos.
Being dogmatic and buying into blind faith is also part of human nature but most people generally agree that being that stupid is a bad thing, even if it is our natural tendency
Accepting your disposition as the only way to be and not exerting your will to be better is degeneracy. You’re degenerating into an animal rather than a person
both, though chances are i wont like the boomber due to getting used to at least 2003core graphics and gameplay
problem is im supremely bored until zoomber one drops so i need something to stave off boredom
>moronic Black folk still trying to act surprised as if any Xeno game never had any dark skinned people, specially in the main party
So this is the power of secondaries.
is LAL really only 10 hours long?
i've heard that the cowboy's chapter takes place in just one town and i know the present day chapter is basically just a boss rush
>Caveman - Typical RPG >China - Typical RPG >Ninja - Typical RPG [Stealth Focused] >Western - Closer to a Puzzle, Boss Fight >Modern - Boss Rush >Near Future - Typical RPG >Future - Proto-RPG Maker Horror, Boss Fight >Medieval - Typical RPG >Finale - Typical RPG
They all have slight gimmicks, but the big standouts are Western, Future, and Modern for having 1 fight, 1 fight, and only fights respectively. I'm getting Live a Live. I wanted to like Xenoblade but it just goes on and on and on. It would be years before I even get to the end of the second game.
I'll probably get neither for now, but both eventually. I like Live A Live and I'm sure the remake will be worth playing, but I played the original too recently to want to play the reamke at the moment. I still need to play Xenoblade Chronicles 1 at least, and if I like it I'll get 2 and 3. I'll certainly get Live A Live at some point anyway, and I expect I'll get Xenoblade at some point unless the first one disappoints me, but I won't be getting either at launch.
Both
Same.
I preordered Live a Live, 364 kn with shipment
>inb4 how nuch is that in real money
~1026 pesos.
I'm still waiting with Xeno3 preorfer, maybe I'll save some cash...
I love Xeno, but I definitely want to play and finish Live a Live first.
>inb4 how nuch is that in real money
>~1026 pesos.
???
so how much is in real money?
As a zoomer, I am getting the boomer one.
As a boomer, I'm getting the 'zoomer' one
I'll probably get Live-A-Live (I'd been wanting a remake since getting disappointed they didn't announce one at last year's concert), but Xeno 3 is strictly on the wait-and-see list. I've never been as taken with any of the Xenoblade games as others are and down the line when all the DLC is out there will almost certainly be a $30 bundle for both game and extras, IF it turns out to be worth it.
Given the way Nintendo discounts games, you are going to be waiting a very long time for a $30 bundle lmao.
For me, it's Xenoblade and Digimon.
How much do you get paid?
>Paid
Even worse if you’re shilling for free.
zoomer on day 1.
I'll probably pick up the boomer one after it gets a price drop.
This
Monosoft has consistently delivered since going to Nintendo
boomer, just looks very soulful and I don't even like JRPGs normally, plus western and prehistory settings are the shit
hope it emulates well, can't see why it wouldn't but Kirby was fricking up on Yuzu for me yesterday
at least they put the trigger warning on the poster. NIce of em.
None of these are boomer or zoomer, stupid piece of shit
ok, zoomer
A 1994 "boomer" rpg that the west never saw and is a B team game, which is equivalent to a AAA title these days.
Ill take both, because they are RPG, but i been waiting forever for a remake i never knew would exist.
Live A Live is S Team
It wasn't made on a Final Fantasy budget or team, so it's a B team, like Saga.
Id kill for treasures of rudras and treasure hunter g.
does the B in B team mean Beaming [with soul]?
Boomer zoomer coomer doomer have a nice day Black DOWNIE
the Boomber one
thank Dog for YuZu because it's probably going to be shit like Trianal Strategy was
>triangle strategy
this shit game is more VN than game. What the frick.
>is more VN than game
So you didn't actually play it.
You obviously didnt play it.
>frontloads the cutscenes in the first four chapters
>after that you barely get 10 minutes between battles and that goes on for 14 chapters
>battles can last up to an hour later on
>THIS IS BASICALLY A VN
Yes, it's basically a vn. Especially so since the story fricking sucks and is drawn out.
>the story sucks
i will rape your mother
seething
He’s right, anon. Over 50% of the game is dialogue. And the worst part is that the devs were too lazy to make actual cutscenes with animated characters, or even draw some nice portraits that change expressions. Even games from the ‘90s had more effort put into keeping viewers visually stimulated during long exchanges of dialogue.
Sure. If you only played the demo which was ironically a shit showcase of the full game.
If the OG is anything go by, you should be wrong.
You can solo the fish too.
Just blind him and use the instant death attack.
What instant death attack?
Deepest Dark, it is learned at level 14.
Does it work on the ghost samurai super boss too?
It works against both super bosses.
neither, I don't have a switch
One of the main appeals of LAL is that each chapter plays differently.
I know, but does the gameplay open up as each character’s story goes along or not really?
What the frick do you mean with "open up"?
Are there more gameplay elements that get added to combat and non-combat gameplay or is what you see what you get from start to finish for each character?
You mean sidequests? Minigames? Or shops? Then no.
The boomber, i'm not a fan of autobattlers.
Xenoblade has an auto-attack and AI-controlled teammates, but if you are not doing anything then you will lose every fight. Positioning, arts (special attacks), timing of those attacks, team comp, and sometimes even the environment all matter for combat. Try one of the older games on emulation.
Boomer easily. Xenoblade is garbo.
I never played a single mario game, believe it or not. I have a switch lite.
Witch mario game should I get?
LAL is just a 10 hour game that costs 60 dollar
only mega weebs will waste their money on this
then it'll print money due to the stupid squeenix fanboys in this thread that'll defend every mediocre game they put out.
>then it'll print money due
lol this is SE we're talking about.
It cost 50 dollars.
ever heard of emulators?
Neither. JPRGs are garbage. Imagine enjoying just selecting attack in a menu over and over. JRPGgays have negative IQ
Live a Live gives me octopath vibes... and that's a bad thing. Still don't understand why octopath is so loved when its so shit, and I play the fricking lowest of the low bog standard JRPGs.
I'm not familiar with Octopath, but I can assume that the only thing Live A Live shares with Octopath is the HD 2D thing.
I agree on Octopath, though the music was kino
>and I play the fricking lowest of the low bog standard JRPGs
Gust or Falcom?
Both. But I prefer Gust.
>octopath is so loved
homie, what? Nobody loves it and it's widely agreed to be a disappointment due to the near complete lack of interaction between party members. I have never once seen any praise for it higher than "It's okay"
>near complete lack of interaction between party members
false. it's there but the moronic developers hid them in tales of style skits that only show depending on active party members. without a guide you have to blindly cycle through all the party members after every cutscene just to get the skit prompt.
Ganker had constant threads praising it and a bunch of tards unironically calling it goty. This went on for like a month.
I feel like most of the positivity was about the demo because the actual game was all wasted potential.
they should remake Xenogears as an HD-2D game that'd be cool I think
Neither.
>tfw Xenoblade is a 15 yrs old franchise at this point
Xenoblade is 12 years old.
god damn
>Not getting both AND Digimon Survive
NGMI
Both of course
ENTER
>It's deep and mature because
>LE LORD OF THE FLIES!
>YOU HAVE TO KILL EVERYONE TO SURVIVE!
>OBJECTIVE: SURVIVE!
No thanks.
Can't have gore and nude/rape stuff on consoles will never be edgy.
Neither
I'm getting Digimon
Anything > Shity gimmick xenoblade puzzle battles
>Perform a knockdown during a chain to change the boss phase!!
pure cringe
I got both
Can I play XC3 without having played 2?
I played 1 but never got around to playting 2.
doubt it
You can, but you are gonna miss loads of details and the main twist for sure, same if you didn't play Xenoblade 1 either.
The devs and previewers have said you don't need to have played Xenoblade 1 or 2. There are clearly going to be some references you'll miss though
Yes you can basically play any xenoblade game without having played others. They exist in parallel universes.
The only problem is that you might be too low IQ for xenoblade 3's combat system if you've never played 2. There are a lot of smooth brains out there that can't comprehend having highly customizable party setups.
Anon, the whole point of xbc3 is that both Xbc1 and Xbc2 fused.
from a directional stand point, its technically a setting where elements from every xenoblade game is present in one game, but that does not take away from the fact that xenoblade 3 is its own universe. Which is why the falseflaggers are homosexuals.
Supposedly Xenoblade 3's tutorials are way better than 2's and you can actually readily review them.

>Unlimited Saga Remastered
You don't even know what are you talking about
Both, but how long will it take me to complete LAL? I don't know if I can fit it in the week before XB3 or not.
SNES version took about 15ish hours to beat
If that holds true for the remake I should get through it in time EZPZ.
>getting live alive with those shitty character designs
No way gay
Star Ocean but not now. Games you ask about one has not fanservice and other is censored piece of shit with Black person main.
Xeno
Both. But I'll play LIVE A LIVE after Xenoblade 3.
Neither. I assume every Japanese game localization is compromised in some way, so I no longer play Japanese video games. I don't like most western games either so in the end I just don't play anything.
oh nice, a jrpg thread
is ys 9 shit or not?
Honestly, the more I look at it, the more I'm not excited for Live A Live. Maybe it's because Xenoblade is just that hype for me, but Live A Live kinda like another Octopath Traveler (I know Live A Live came out first).
Live a Live's narratives are all actually connected though unlike octopath
I guess. I just don't think I'm going to enjoy it that much. I'll still give it a shot. Especially cause it's free.
>Live A Live kinda like another Octopath Traveler
what similar artstyles do to motherfrickers
The gameplay doesn't look that fun either tho.
Try the Demo. I am going for Xenoblade first as well, but Live A Live is worth the try. Is worth mention that each character is almost it's own game on it's own (Not a "Mini game", but still it's own experience), and none of them is an standard JRPG experience at that, so again, is worth giving the Demo a try to see what you feel about it.
>live a live
>boomer
True boomers already played that game, anon.
What the frick is Live A Live?
Google it zoomer-kun
HD-2D remake of a SNES rpg.
The story of a man having a very happy life
A story about cuckoldry
Who would win
Underrated
Live A Live looks like shit so Xenoblade even though it looks like the worst Xenoblade yet
Both
Live A Live is pretty short, you can finish it in the week between when it comes out and XB3 comes out
Especially if you get a head start via the demo
I hate RPGs with auto attack while moving your character around so the boomer one.
Tried playing the first Xenoblade, the MMO gameplay doesn't really jive with me so I'll be skipping #3. Live A Live looks cool as frick though so I'll be definitely picking that up.
Xenoblade for sure, LAL if it turns out to be really great. I love everything Takahashi has been doing.

Both
Lost my Live a Live save file like a decade ago after finishing 2 characters. The ninja level was so horse shit that I didn't even feel sad about it
Zoomer day1, boomer when it inevitably gets ported to PC.
Why should I get the remake when I can emulate the SNES version for free while purists will inevitably shun the remake?
Xenoblade at launch, Live A Live when it's 50% off next month, I know how Square operates.
Both. I also started DQ11 while waiting for LAL and there's no way I'm going to finish it by Friday
Just find it the teensiest bit odd that we're going directly from Oersted in the Live A Live remake to what appears to be Melia and Nia being an Act 1 antagonist in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
Stop trolling
Keep crying. Your ship didn't happen.
>have zero interest in live a live
>XBC3 removed all the breasts and replaced them with fully covered blacked girls
it's time to quit JRPGs for good
You probably had a meltdown because wulfric was big and black
you probably had an erection
Wulfric isn't even human looking yet he make you think of Black person wiener. You mutts are fricking strange with your Black worship.
>having a melty welty because someone has different skin
yikes
>being excited about the game from the unholy trinity of NTR jrpgs
Neither, gaming is generally dead to me. Western shit is notoriously garbage and now the troonylator ~~*localization*~~ teams have been getting bolder and troonylations as a result even worse than ever before. >Wtf gaming is dead???
No, you're just a moron fishing for reasons to continue being angry on loop in your head while doing nothing.
>t. resetera sister
>reee how dare you not buy game and lift weights
get help
Evil a evil just looks like more low effort rpgmaker tier shit like octopath and triangle strategy
HD-2D games are the complete opposite of low-effort
>claims to just be jumping off now because "muh Black folk"
>1 had Otharon
>X had literal American black people
>2 had a bunch of Abbo looking motherfrickers in Uraya
What did he mean by this?
I put up with that fricking Black person in XC1. Didn't stop me from 100% the game and doing all sidequests in anticipation for 3. Too bad 3 turned out to be a total disappointment. There is a huge difference between a one off NPC you hardly see after the first encounters and a party member who blacks the big titty girl. Besides the fact that the game has ethics committee stink all over it. XC2 was a love letter to boys everywhere, XC3 is for the fujos.
>caring about race
Way to out yourself as an american
Racism is a human trait.
have a nice day moron
Being dogmatic and buying into blind faith is also part of human nature but most people generally agree that being that stupid is a bad thing, even if it is our natural tendency
Accepting your disposition as the only way to be and not exerting your will to be better is degeneracy. You’re degenerating into an animal rather than a person
>Black folk

so this is the XBC3 audience
Now this is schizophrenia
All you're doing is proving that image to be true lol
>all you're do-
shut the frick up and have a nice day, homosexual
Bro you're conceding!
3 is the one with Black person NTR and also the first to sanitize
He means that he wants to be racist outside of /b/
I'm getting Live-A-Live because I loved the original and want to listen to the remake version of the bad ending theme.
I'm in it for the new Steel Titan theme, my inner mecha weeb is salivating at Hironobu Kageyama doing it.
>Live a Live
>Western Chapter
Worth it for this alone
What is it about Xenofwee that completely liquefies people's brains
Cute cat
>tfw no pear-shaped welsh catgirl gf you can eat the pussy and ass of and dump massive quantities of jizz into in all holes
I'm ready for Noah's catlust awakening
It's just the usual response to Nintendo exclusives these days.
me on the left
Tiny tiddies
both, though chances are i wont like the boomber due to getting used to at least 2003core graphics and gameplay
problem is im supremely bored until zoomber one drops so i need something to stave off boredom
Live A Live is Millennial, not Boomer. Why do we now act like an entire generation didn't exist?
Everyone pretends Gen X doesn't exist even outside of Ganker
>12 hour game that costs $60
>XenoBLACKED 3
Neither.
I'll just play my backlog. I'll get LAL one day when on sale.
>>12 hour game that costs $60
?
LaL launches at 50 like most remakes you moron.
>moronic Black folk still trying to act surprised as if any Xeno game never had any dark skinned people, specially in the main party
So this is the power of secondaries.
I don't remember any of them in my party fricking the blonde blue eyed girl and being unable to bench them.
>implying they were ever relevant
enjoy your pozzed cuck game
Every time a series goes woke """fans""" of the new game pretend the previous games were either bad or always woke. Textbook.
Secondaries implies they care about the series in some way. The people making a big deal about it are just anti-tendies.
Please understand, i got mindbroken by xenoblade 2 selling 2 million copies.
is LAL really only 10 hours long?
i've heard that the cowboy's chapter takes place in just one town and i know the present day chapter is basically just a boss rush
HLTB says 18 hours
>short JRPG
God I wish more of these were a thing
>Caveman - Typical RPG
>China - Typical RPG
>Ninja - Typical RPG [Stealth Focused]
>Western - Closer to a Puzzle, Boss Fight
>Modern - Boss Rush
>Near Future - Typical RPG
>Future - Proto-RPG Maker Horror, Boss Fight
>Medieval - Typical RPG
>Finale - Typical RPG
They all have slight gimmicks, but the big standouts are Western, Future, and Modern for having 1 fight, 1 fight, and only fights respectively. There's no real 'shop' in the game and equipment is mostly found through exploration. Lots of secrets that you can stumble upon (but likely won't). The longest chapter is the Finale and that's probably 8ish hours if you take your time, but the bite-sized chapters with some of their more obscure secrets makes them somewhat replayable, even moreso if you end up liking the combat.
neither
Both thanks to Tinfoil.
Live a Live looks interesting
Xenoblade looks generic
I'm getting Live a Live. I wanted to like Xenoblade but it just goes on and on and on. It would be years before I even get to the end of the second game.
Zoomer, boomer for later
Live a Live is short as frick, I can easily play through it before the launch of XC3, so yeah both.
