Kojima has always been a pretentious hack, but so long as the games look and feel good, and the writing is at least unintentionally funny, he gets a pass. He's a goddamn weird military otaku who made it big by making legitimately good games for decades, who cares if he's full of himself?

People remember the the story try not because of the camp but because of the emotional scene with the original boss. I could understand why but the the plan being so elaborate and stupid at parts ruins it for me personally
