Any time EA spoke to the press, they're never speaking go their gaming 'customers' aka their cash cows. They're always speaking to their real customers which is the shareholders.

There have been ads in games for decades already. Every sports game has ads all over the place, but nobody complains because that’s how sports are. Burnout Paradise had ads on billboards and shit, I’m pretty sure they even shilled for Obama with those at one point. Ads in games, especially EA games, are nothing new or worth getting mad about.

This is already the case in Street Fighter 6. It also has battle passes and microtransactions. But it's Capcom, so everyone gives them a pass.
