I love FTL but it's such an rng fest.
It's just really flavorful dice rolling.

Lmao just get the arty ship, upgrade the arty beam, spend the rest of your shit on defence upgrades or anything that disables the missiles and ion and you win on the long run

every run can have cloak and hacking. get good weapons, get cloak, get hacking, win. dumbfrick.

Oh right, so it's as simple as just getting cloak and hacking.
Then why doesn't the game just accept you win when you get them then?
Oh wait, because it's never that fricking easy.

Then it sounds like you're an idiot who doesnt know how to make good decision. Spend scrap wisely, consider your crew. Consider your systems

Painfully easy to beat on Normal and lower
Hard is a challenge but not as much if you use an OP ship like Zoltan A or Fed Cruiser, or Mantis

With the starting ship you can pretty easily beat the flagship on normal unless you are horrendously unlucky

The starting Fed ship is very strong anyway, plus the B version is one of the best in the game.

fed cruiser and mantis are garbage ships though

You get 2 star pilot, shield and engine guy by the first sector, 2 star weapon guy by the second or third sector, and keep a list of blue options handy. Also get a preigniter.

If you don't get your hands one either cloak/hacking/defence drone, you gotta pump engines up as much as you can. As long as you have max shields and at least one of those other things, or a zoltan shield, you should be good.

If you don’t have cloak, have defense drones and vise versa. If you don’t have either, have upgraded engines that you can swap energy into depending on what attack is coming next. A lot of it is just farming scrap as much as you can with the fleet right on your tail and then working with what you have to make do. Good game, it’s a shame into the breach sucks so bad

kill the crew in the more dangerous areas (like the missile room) but don't kill everyone or else the AI will take over

I played this game years ago and I remember beating it with shield-scumming. Don't know if that works anymore though.

    Anyone playing Multiverse?
I've got all the first page "Multiverse Cruisers" unlocked and a handful of other random ships. I want to unlock the Flagship as a playable ship cause from what I've heard with upgrades that thing is an absolute beast.

I dont understand why people think this guy is so over the top. I mean, you wont win everytime but you can definitely beat him with decent weapons and at least a somewhat diverse system.

Remember its absolutly possible for a fight to be un beatable ex. if you cannot penetrate shields. You should consider this fight across the entire game from sector 1. Understand you starting ships weapons/systems and spend you scrap accordingly so you get get the upgrades/systems you need.

FTL is a bad game that people only shill because it let them indulge in their Trekkie fantasy while shilling for the holy indie devs
