For me, it's Soilwork. Over time my taste shifted around from Symphony X and Dream Theater which got me into music (hated everything on the radio I heard), to various Power Metal bands and eventually to a particular subsection of Melodeath that only Soilwork and Scar Symmetry/Solution .45 hit. There are a few Inflames songs that hit, but it's really hard to find anything else that has the same feel, I can't really describe it.

Bump. It’s like a new 98 pound homosexual shows up to claim his music is the best and everyone else’s is virgin. Honest truth is all metal is virgin. That was a time of the past and this whole thread is dealing with the major wave of cope.

Nah, some metal is based, I would say US Power Metal is easily the most masculine (and probably the best overall, when it comes to the average quality of average band), but ofc those homosexuals are mentioning some Belakor slop, Nightwish (aka my first metal band from youtube recommendation) or other trash

Ganker pseuds are always funny when they decide to post on other boards are somehow always surprised and astonished that people that aren't hardcore into music just like whatever bands they happened to hear as teenagers growing up.

Newsflash, most people aren't "into music". They just listen to whatever they happen to hear and enjoy as they lived their lives doing other things.
This is why video game music is popular with gaymers, cinema pseuds have movie soundtracks on their shelf, etc.

It really depends on the game
Like if it's a JRPG, ARPG, "character action" or something similar I'll just listen to the in game music
If it's something more mindless and grindy like the above while grinding then likely I'll listen to Jpop or something jazzy
For games like diablo, PoE, or those kind of top down hack and slashes that can also get grindy and mindless, then I'll put on some rock, maybe even some kind of metal depending on how hard the game goes
For racing games I'll do techno or, yes, eurobeat
For FPS then it'll definitely be metal or power metal
and finally for Tactical/Realism FPS, it'll be nothing.

What are your thoughts. Is there such thing as genres of music matching genres of vidya or am I just completely insane I am posting on Ganker after all?

Metal is fricking dead as frick. It's basically the new dad rock, only boomers listen to it these days. The only subgenre that get any amount of mainstream traction is metalcore, and even most of that now sounds like electro pop.
