Assume the average?

Assume the average Ganker user is 25, and will die at 75. You have 50 years of gaming left, which is 18,250 days, or 438,000 hours. Sounds like a lot of gaming! But, let’s be real, if you work 40 hours a week until the age of 65 when you retire, that’s 83,200 hours gone. You also need time to sleep, eat, clean, and do other daily tasks, let’s call it 10 hours on average to do those, which is 182,000 hours gone. You still have 172,800 hours left for games, which isn’t bad. 7, 200 full gaming days, or 19.72 years! But, the average person, even the average Gankerirgin probably isn’t going to use all of their spare time just for games. You have other hobbies, you watch movies, anime, some of you may even have a social life. Knock half of that time off for other activities, and now you have 86,400 hours, 3,600 days, or 9.86 years. If you knock it down further to 2/3, you have 57,600 hours, 2,400 days, or 6.57 years

6.57 - 9.86 years is how much gaming time you have left, if you are 25. Is that enough? Well, if you wanted to 100% complete Skyrim it would take you around 232 hours, which means at 6.57 years left of gaming you’d be able to complete Skyrim 248 times.

Is being able to 100% a game 248 times for the rest of your life enough gaming for you, Ganker?

The only sensible thing to do in this life is to become a NEET. Time is too short to spend it on pointless things like having a job or learning skills that will be obsolete in a decade.

Say it wasn't true, but you are actively fricking your life over by having a "career" nowadays. I don't even hate sensible work, but the vast majority of jobs available don't even produce any tangible results. It's also like you need a degree to work at fricking McDonalds.

Yeah, the only sensible thing is to deliberately limit yourself in terms of your abilities, that makes sense. This is like the gaming equivalent of saying the only sensible thing is to get equipment that's ten years out of date to play latest gen software.

The only thing worse than your opinion is the analogy you made to support it.
I highly recommend you proof read your trash thoughts before turning them into a post. This dump has standards.

I play maybe one game a year, last one was death stranding. Everything else new is trash, I build model kits, garden, and work on my car.

Gen 2 was the best pokemon gen, streamers are homosexuals.

Not only is that making a lot of assumptions, like anybody on this board having a real job, but yes, that is plenty of time, and anybody who bothers to 100% Skyrim of all things clearly doesn't play video games for fun or challenge anyhow.

I'm 40 and I feel like I've seen basically everything gaming has to offer. I will play a game every once in a while but I don't feel that I'm missing out by not playing the majority of new releases.

I sleep like 4-5 hours a night, only eat while watching anime, and clean maybe once a year when my parents come to visit. I think I can squeeze in at least 250 Skyrims of gaming.

You can't 100% Skyrim because it has infinite quests. You could play it literally forever and never run out of things to do.

While you anons are thinking about vidya, I'd like you to think about your family and loved ones and how much time you spend with them

How many times do you call or visit your grandparents in a given year? 30? 20? 10?
Multiply that by both the number of average hours/minutes you spend with them each visit and the number of years you think they have left on Earth
Kind of small when you think about it. You really don't have much time left with them so make the best of it.

I'm going to call up my grandparents tomorrow. They're probably going to tell me a story I've already heard 5 times but I just want to hear their voices again.

Pac-Man wasn't around 50 years ago and Pong is itself just turning 50 this November. People have a poor grasp as to what 50 years actually means, and also people shouldn't assume they have fifty in the first place.

There are only really good games released once every 3 years. In the future it will probably be once every 7 or 8. Which means there will be about 5 classics, and 12 'good for what it is' games released over the next 30 to 40 years. If you put 300 hours into each that would be about 5400 hours or a little less than a year rounding up.
Games are fun and all, but most of them aren't a requirement.
