It's a commercial plane, not a fricking jet fighter.
Your not gonna be dodging anything you just fly straight for several hours
>suddenly competitive gaming is compared to flying a military grade plane into active combat
Yes suddenly once you made the comparison with this moronic thread
why are you so fricking stupid?
You would want a 25 year old pilot dodging AA guns
A 45 year old pilot can manage circling an airport and waiting to land
competitive gaming is compared to flying a military grade plane into active combat
Google the female pilot who ejected 0.5 seconds too slow and catapulted herself into the water, instantly killing herself. The male pilot ejected on time because men have literally 10% faster reflexes.
your competitive game outcome is almost never dictated by a 50ms reaction speed advantage, trust me
50ms is 0.05 seconds and games can easily be decided who pushed a button slightly faster than the other guy.
you've never played a fighting game if you think a 3f difference in reaction time wouldn't absolutely decide a match.
0.5s is 500miliseconds you fricking moron
Improper handling caused the crash in the first place. The ejection of the pilot and RIO is supposed to be staggered so they don't fricking fly into each other.
Shhhhhh no woman bad
the man ejected both of them.
her seat was designed to eject a split second later, like all jets are
lmao this whole situation is a clownshow to read about
>Literally Pelosi in JAG's office screaming "THIS WAS NOT INCOMPETENCE THIS WAS NOT INCOMPETENCE THIS WAS NOT INCOMPETENCE THIS WAS NOT INCOMPETENCE"
>Someone asked who was flying the plane, then
>He got discharged
If the woman was flying the plane then the crash is her fault, but if the man ejected first then that has nothing to do with the woman, in jet fighters if one seat ejects the other will also eject with a half a second delay.
I'll never understand why civvies keep trying to discuss military matters.
Can't anybody hit the eject button? If both can hit the eject button, it means that whoever hit it first will eject first, then be followed by the other.
In a two seater both can, it's just if any of the two hit the button the other pilot will also be ejected.
>it's just if any of the two hit the button the other pilot will also be ejected.
I got that, i was just wondering if it doesn't change any of the facts. She hit the eject button later than he did or didn't hit it at all, which is even worse. If she was the pilot, it was her fault for putting the plane in a bad enough position that the other guy considered it was okay to jettison himself. The plane's eject system also throwing her out 0.5 secs later is just beside the point because she was the one at fault and also was slower than her co pilot. Anyway, the whole thing was a shitshow created out of feminism moronation trying to prove that women are equal to men and sometimes even better and an innocent but incapable woman paid with her life because others wanted diversity.
>She hit the eject button later than he did or didn't hit it at all
That's because if you are in a two seater and you are in a situation where you might need to actually eject, you'll normally leave that to your copilot while you focus on trying to regain control of the aircraft.
>Boeing enters the game
Commercial airline pilots barely fly the plane and are only there in cases of emergency. Much like how the third leading cause of death is medical malpractice, the number one cause of crashes is pilot error.
You don't need quick reflexes to be a pilot, moron. You're not going to be dodging other planes.
you don't need quick reflexes to win in competirive gaming either
fighting games have moves that are unreactable for the express purpose of testing skills other than reaction speeds
Unless you Gaan
Most people give up on competitive gaming around 30 due to the fact they gotta worry about bills and stop getting supported by their parents.
Some of the pro players make enough to support themselves, but I know a large amount of players just throw the towel in by either shifting over to "content creation" or being a coach.
the often cited reason for not playing competitive pvp games is low reaction speeds tho
That's a misconception. Yes, there are teenagers who have insane reaction speed, but they can also afford to play for 6+ hours a day. Most high-level players are gradually improving at their game in some form.
Your reaction speed does slow down as you get older, but you can be sharper than 98% of the population in your mid 30s if you practice and take care of your self.
Sounds like a convenient excuse. If they said "I'm giving up competitive because I'm a full-fledged adult now and want to build a career that doesn't revolve around playing computer games", the community would shit on them. If they instead say "oh man I'd love to keep playing but my muscles aren't fast enough anymore, such a shame, well I guess I have to do something else now" then everyone accepts that.
Biggest cope of all time
You're not too old to be good at video games
You were literally never good at them to begin with
most commercial pilots are retired fighter pilots
they nerfed themselves too
I'd rather trust a 45.9yo pilot to handle my flight than a 25yo newgrad whose never had to pilot shit before.
Plus, you'd have to remember people can't retire at 25yo and start getting their pensions in 99% of the world, obviously unless they hit gold and can live off residuals and interests for the rest of their lives.
gamerbros how do we gaan??
OUTTA MY WAY PAN AM SHITS!
It's that high because being a pilot is one of the worst value propositions of all time for a profession and no one wants to get into it.
You also don't frick yourself nearly as badly as the average pro gamer does on a daily basis.
other than the initial investment of 100 grand for the license it sounds like a pretty safe job that pays well and lets you retire early
what is so bad about it?
You don't use reaction speed as a commercial pilot, you're not flying a fricking F-35
being a pilot sounds like a slightly less miserable oil rig worker
yeah no shit that's physical labor
>giving up before your 50s
>flying
>year 0+3
yeah that's a pass
>Captain Elmer Udd
Huh? Why are they dying in 2021 specifically?
global warming
kung flu
mrnACK
It's not the average age of pilot, it's average age of yt people. And since you need to be white to get a privileged job like a pilot (sit all day while autopilot controls the plane and be middle-class), the average age of pilot is around 50.
WE GAAN
waarheen eh jedde
Fun fact: The army in Spain is so corrupt only old farts get to fly the few fighters we have and every year (without fault) they crash at least a couple of them on training practice.
So yeah, boomers do lose reaction timing
>they crash at least a couple of them on training practice.
No it's because they fly F-16 and its garbage which crashes regularly. Like, 15% of them crashed, and in earlier serial numbers for US airforce there are sometimes like 3-4 crashed planes in a row.
I'd trust this guy with my life.
We gaan
runway status?
I follow a range esports a fair bit and age and reaction times are 100% a meme.
What happens to pro players is they lose the hunger for grinding. The vast majority of pro vidya players can only sustain grinding a single video game for 12 hours a day for a certain amount of years before they simply lost interest.
It is and was always a question of motivation and autism.
>Average age where "gamers" give up on competitive gaming due to "low reaction speeds": 25 years old
That's pretty much just the young generation. Every generation tends to be convinced life ends at like 30 and you have to go into a retirement home. Millenials did it, gen x did it, boomers did it.
the context of pro gaming is vastly different from almost any other profession in the world. You pretty much have to learn a completely new game every ~4 years and that's without factoring in game altering patches and stuff. There's also a bunch of other factors from the poor physical health that most gamers have to burnout from constant grinding within short timespans to the general factors of everyday adult life not being conducive to being a top tier gamer. Other careers can have sort of similar issues but gaming is pretty extreme and truthfully probably isn't worth it unless you hit the top .01% at the right time for the right game
How is this dude ever able to compete if your skills evaporate before your brain fully develops? This guy is AT LEAST 40
You don't need fast reaction speeds to slowly steer a plane, it's not a fighter jet.
Hell, the Apollo era astronauts all ranged between 35 and 50, and those actually had to steer the Lunar Module during landing.
>you need fast reflexes to fly in a straight line with autopilot doing most of the work
