So, for all BG/CRPG/DnD newbies here are some tips to not make mistake during character creation.
1) You see all those stat checks requiring your char to have charisma/optimized stats/whatever? Ignore them. They are not important and can be passed cheesing always. What you need is a KILLER char that will carry you.
2) For that reason - ignore all classes aside from Fighter, Ranger, Sorcerer. Fightr is best class ingame and the reason is simple - it scales the best with leveling up stat wise AND it gets best benefits from most powerful equipment - while other chars barely could use most of it, let alone benefit actively. A meatshield tank witk high hit chance will make all encounters trivial. Spell preparation? Stealth? Ranger? Enviromental damage? You dont need it. All you need is Doom Slayer with big sword.
Socrer becomes godly at endgame, but by that time fighter and others do too, while he suffers harshly in first half of game. Wizard is not even an option.
Ranger is only option if you are hell bent on Sneaking, since it is decent fighter/pet/rogue, while actual Rogue class is shit. But fighter is better.
3) Do not Multiclass. I repeat. DO NOT MULTICLASS. Its a trap. Whatever advantage you get has bigger downsides.
4) Roll Human. Frick elves, dwarves etc. For proper minmaxin Human is a race to use and even +2 stats on some races do not outweight it.
5) Use and buy consumables. A scroll, potion or staff often make impossible situation to trivial.
>here's how you should play
>1-5 DO NOT ROLEPLAY AT ANY POINT
>teehee, now you can enjoy the game lulz
roleplaying is for gays
CRPGs never were actually "roleplaying games"
The first ones were pure dungeon crawlers, and BG series also was mostly focused on hard combat, with Icewinddale basically removing even resemblance of story that distracted from it.
Everyone telling you they play RPGs for "choices and consequences" is a liar. They play for stats, gear, progression, combat challenge they can see those stats at work.
Playing BG1-2 with non optimized "roleplay" party would make quick work of you stalling progression or killing you in the first zones, while having right build in BG1 you can kill everyone in Candlekeep than proceed to rape bear in next zone and all encounters you arent supposed to destroy easily.
wow I am having soooo much fun minmaxing dnd characters in a shitty DOS game with graphics being CGA scribbles
when fallout and diablo dropped and did away with dnd-isms the dungeon crawler genre died overnight with the holdouts being bioware games where d&d was just a small part of the game tying together an story and resolving some combat like how you're supposed to play d&d to begin with
>he thinks Fallout 1-2 was not about inmaxing
you clearly never played it. It was litterally unplayable unless you did min max
You're kind of dumb. Fallout was based on a tabletop game that used GURPS.
> Playing BG1-2 with non optimized "roleplay" party would make quick work of you stalling progression or killing you in the first zones
Considering you can solo either game with any single class, thats horseshit
To be fair solo is legit stronger than a full party till the last chapters simply because you level up so fricking fast you'll outlevel all your competition
I STILL remember poring over the manual for BG1 for hours before playing the game (it was like an inch thick) and distinctly remember them advising you that you can "pick anything you want" because "roleplaying is encouraged" and not only that, but suggesting a fricking fighter/bard multiclass (because of the gay that was writing the manual in character).
This is also in a game where your stats are randomly rolled and you're quite able to frick yourself in the first 5 seconds. hp was also assigned randomly each level up.
Epic fricking trolling. I had a really hard time.
I agree there's too much of a tendency these days for people to act like RPGs were always mainly about improv theatre when even from the earliest days they were in large part about combat and dungeon crawling, you know, adventuring, at least as much as they were about role-playing, and CRPGs doubly so.
But even if you don't care about role-playing at all there is no need to min-max and limit yourself to a handful of the most "optimal" builds if you think something else would be more fun. BG3 is probably not going to be an especially hard game on the default difficulty and even on the higher ones you could probably finish it while gimping yourself hard, and maybe even have more fun that way.
>I agree there's too much of a tendency these days for people to act like RPGs were always mainly about improv theatre when even from the earliest days they were in large part about combat and dungeon crawling, you know, adventuring, at least as much as they were about role-playing, and CRPGs doubly so.
This seems odd. I haven't played tabletop much, but when I did it seemed like the whole point was a game of make-believe with just enough rails to keep everyone on the same page. The transition to CRPG seems to have missed that whole bit and takes the rails as the end rather than the means.
If you are planning character builds and strategies in a fricking game like Baldur's Gate, holy frick you are the most peabrained b***h baby I have ever seen
These games are piss easy, you could have the most unoptimized build and still beat the hardest difficulty, why do people go so apeshit over needlessly talked about builds and ways to cheese the AI?
>you could have the most unoptimized build and still beat the hardest difficult
Have you?
>oh yeah I totally...
Prove it
EA was the easiest game I think I've played in the past 10 years, so yes, it was hilariously easy
This game is not about any kind of difficulty
Prove
It
the game just came out and it's like 120gb you stupid c**t, prove what? EA is over
>the game is so easy I can beat it off class with bad stats and my eyes closed
>okay, prove it
>no, actually I never played it!
Lmao what the frick? The fact you're crying about it means I gotcha. I bet you play on easy with cheats. These rpg threads remind me how shit you guys are at games, like when elden ring came out.
>GUYS!!! I POSTED LIKE A moron ON 4CHIN AGAIN!!! xD!!!
>CRPGs never were actually "roleplaying games"
This is true and the reason people don't realize it is because of Tim Cain and his games. It's his games and only his games that have a strong emphasis on the world reacting to your character and choices almost at the expense of everything else, but their fans are extremely vocal on the internet. Fallout, Arcanum, VTMB, etc. Fans of these games also constitute a large portion of people hurling "not a REAL rpg" at games like elder scrolls or planescape torment (the rest are parroting).
>NuRPGs
>Roleplaying
lol
>old crpgs
>you can roleplay as a homosexual yes man or a cartoon villain
Yeah, better to roleplay in old cRPGs which are designed in a way that you miss half of the game if you're evil and don't want to help everyone on your path.
Frick you.
Replay the game, duh
You mean the opther way around, old games were just dungeon crawlers and its the reason why the genre literally died for a decade
I always roleplay as the best.
Just the best.
I roleplay as having achieved CHIM
to be fair all tabletop adaptations to computer games are trash because their systems are trash for solo video game playing
hes right about 3 though, multiclassing is cancer
i roleplay as a really strong character
>using consumables
Umm no thanks I might need those later
>tfw I actually needed them later
Feels good I saved them
>min/maxing homosexualry
>nooooo stop being good and improving yourself, you need to flail around like a moron to have fun the RIGHT way!
Truly improving yourself involves learning the game well enough to dominate no matter what class you roll. You may as well just put the game on the easiest difficulty and use cheat engine. But just remember, you did not beat the game.
Is the joke here that each of these pieces of advice are worthless and wrong, or did you actually think these where good advice?
Those are time tested and absolutely correct, unless you intent to play on Explorer difficulty or a masochist to play in specific tailored uber multiclas mutant gimmic build requiring you to suffer for 12 levels, to become god at 13th.
theres no 13th level, the level cap is 12. You are now realizing how dogshit this game is
The game uses Tasha's custom attributes, so you pick based on the racial bonus features, not attributes. Human is shit tier and there's no VHuman in the game. Githyanki is the most bullshit overpowered race by far for spellcasters, which are what you should actually be picking. Fighters are better than they've ever been in DND before 5E but are still shit compared to spellcasters after the first couple of levels, and those first couple of levels are practically tutorials in this game that you cannot possibly fail anyway.
>Githyanki is the most bullshit overpowered race by far for spellcasters, which are what you should actually be picking
human is EXCELLENT now too- free light armor, free shield, good carrying capacity even with 8 str, and an extra proficiency
Ah, fair enough, you're right, it's decent. I thought it was just a worse githyanki but it gives you shield proficiency at least. I'd still go githyanki for minmaxing for med armour, free psionic jump, free misty step, and even some martial weapon proficiencies thrown in, but human is decent at least. Ironically, it's still absolute shit tier if you're picking fighter like the OP suggests though, since you already have armour and shild proficiencies.
I probably wouldn't do that in this game given the low level limit and the existence of speed potions, which are basically free action surges anyway, but yeah sure. The OP also suggests no multiclassing though.
Even if you don't want to play a fighter it's still the best fricking multiclass option for every single character ever because of the moronic action surge
getting device lost almost instantly on dx11
and after about 10 minutes on vulkan
updated my drivers
literally the only game this errors appearing in
install linux
HI FRICKING LARIOUS
No, that guy is right, it would just work under Proton.
It's Larian not Larious you idiot
Have you tried finding your device?
>device lost
Its over. Only way i fixed this is getting a new graphics card
bruh the game is too easy regardless of choices made
have a nice day
>minmaxing in a single player pve game
>GPU at 59°C
Ouch
that's nothing
It is considering my GPU barely goes above 54°C at other more demanding games
maybe, but it's still nothing to worry about.
well aren't you cool
personally couldn't care less if my gpu is 50c or 85c makes no difference
>but muh $2,000 custom loop
>50c or 85c makes no difference
It does
>It only gets hotter
So, whats wrong, it could damage the GPU? just buy another one, what are you? poor?
troll
What card?
3080
newest drivers
vulkan ran for like 10 minutes
then got the same kind of crash
That should be concerning to you, it means your gpu is running on low power
I'll play a Drow Sorcerer, but why is Wizard shit?
spell preparation
Being able to prepare spells is strictly better than not being able to prepare spells in 5e.
Sorcerer is still good for other reasons, but if sorcerer had all its class features plus being able to prepare spells, it would be objectively better.
Do you need a full party or does it have lone wolf mechanics like divinity?
you can solo it, but whats the point, when party banter and quests is half the content?
>listening to dialogue
>min/maxing in a SP/Co-op RPG
I shiggy diggy
>minmaxing guide
No thanks, I'm going to actually have fun playing the game.
I have a question about the Monk class. Can I just use other light armors or am I locked with no armor to get the specific bonus that comes with it? Is there like attires that aren't armors so to speak but just skins to custom my monk?
no one knows, Monk is new class only available on release, and most are still downloading
but if it works like elsewhere, Monks at best can wear robes
thx buddy
I was thinking about going barb monk for cons dex wis to AC
3 thief levels for the bonus action, getting advantages on attack is piss easy anyway
serious question for anyone who is playing splitscreen co-op with a friend
i intend to do it but i want to know if i get to make my own character normally or if it requires some bullshit
No. You do not get to create a character in this game. You can only choose between 2 premade characters, and they're both trannies. This game will flop.
Nah, i think i'm gonna make a bear totem berserker and tank anything with no special equipment.
the issue is, theres a lot of GREAT equipment granting not just stats but effects, abilities etc.
So as Druid you`ll only be really able to benefit from druid only items.
Why bother when raging is the best of all effects?
>Why bother when raging is the best of all effects?
is it really? Compared to what
GAME IS CRASHING
CON
STANTLY
REEEEEEEE
Which class has the most unique spells or abilities?
In terms of "not getting bored of it" the absolutely best class is Wizard
Things you can do with and variety of spells is insane and very fun. Downside is its complex to play, very weak at start, has to prepare spells and has limited casts. But its basically class everyone plays when already experienced in the game and wanting max power and fun.
Other classes even with lots of options wtill usually are tunneled to some gimmic build and using few same abilities. Plus, definition of "fun" is different from person to person.
Monk is fun to solo game naked kicking dragons in the nuts.
Fighter is fun being juggernaut slauthering enemies, but is most boring class in actual combat.
Rogue is fun if you want stealth, but tedious if you use it all the time.
So i`d say for most players it`ll be Sorc/Warlock or Ranger , being balanced classes with many perks.
ty im gonna be a wizard on max (non bullshit) difficulty. As I'm only going to play it once.
can I make my party multiclass
I am tempted to force everyone to take 3 levels in warlock
whats the point? Having low level magic is not worth it. For doing actual damage or even debuffs/spells to work they need to be of high casting level, so having basic casting ability is useless later, aside from some self buffs maybe. High level enemies will just ignore most of spells and abilities scale with different stats.
Exception is maybe Arcane Trickster, but not sure how well it works in BG3 yet.
They scale with character level rather than class level in this, so multiclassing is overpowered.
>Fighter is fun being juggernaut slauthering enemies, but is most boring class in actual combat.
Ty fighter sounds like my sort of class. Love big tanky juggernauts.
Spore druid so you can raise dead with a mushroom like you are playing Last of Us
Probably bard considering they have unique supportive texts AND insults for most characters in the game
Plus they are already a jack of all trades kinda class so you can do whatever you wanted with other classes, probably. Not to mention they can also perform in the game which is like a unique method of distraction so even people with no stealth can stealth around when you're playing
how do i multiclass?
it just autolevel whatever class am i
Ideal party if I plan on playing warlock? Im going Shadowbawd, Astarion and Lae atm but Im thinking of switching Laezel out for Mythandra or Karlach.
>Mythandra
meant Minthara
What are the good guy drows all about?
Pretty straightforward, they don't worship the cult of Lolth that the evil Drow do, and so they don't agree with how the evil Drow's society is set up.
this post is moronic on multiple levels, mainly because he says pick fighter instead of barbarian when everyone that's played a single game of 5e knows barb is broken easy frick mode for people that want to cheese away the entire game.
Barbarian has 1d12 hit, better than warrior, but cant benefit from same feats and heavy armor.
Simple truth one has to learn - the one class that is best in actual COMBAT is warrior. It also is better archer than Ranger.
you remember how barbarians just take 50% less damage
The best is that one fighter spec that practically has CC spells attached to non spell stuff that refresh on short rests they can do with their regular moves
Battlemaster?
Yeah, I think it's both unique enough to warrant a playthrough both in pen and paper and here and is actually strong enough even for metafrickers
>cant benefit from same feats and heavy armor
Barbarian can achieve higher AC than full plate.
how so?
Just don't wear clothes. Go into battle naked and every one will be so distracted by your massive wiener and/or breasts that no one will be able to hit you.
You can only get 16 AC at level 1 (human or stout halfling to get at least 16 in dex and con), but any race can eventually achieve 20 AC with 20 dex 20 con. You can still use a shield too.
>and/or
got a chuckle out of me
>rangers are extremely boring and you dont even have a dedicated pet
Played a ranger in closed beta and really didn't like it, barely any abilities and you can specialize in fricking up enemies or having a dinky pet. Though I was able to cheese a shitload of things with a pet as the AI is kind of moronic.
Paladin Masterrace now, frick everything else.
ranger is the worst class in 5e so naturally it has to be the worst in this too
I thought that was monk
ranger was so bad it got a modest rework
Yeah and how is it past the rework anon
I haven't played since it was sorry.
In tabletop? Better.
Ranger was always good at low level but it becomes shit late game
In early access, I think hunters mark is bugged. You should be able to cast it, it makes dmg you deal deal an extra 1d6 dmg to the thing thats marked. And you get to use a bonus action to transfer it to a new target without using a spell. However, pressing short rest seems to break it, same with shield of faith. Havnt tested mage armor but im assuming that wears off the same way too. Maybe its fixed for release but im only like 60% downloaded
They're like that in 5e so at least they're staying loyal to that I guess. I love the ranger with animal companion fantasy but every time i've tried it in 5e it's super underwhelming and boring, so I just quit it.
That's wild since from what I've heard having a pet/mount in the pathfinder games is super strong with shit like trip and adding it's AC to yours when you mount it.
Glad I don't like playing homosexual bow-wielding elves. Zappy smashboy or holy goodboy or NOTHIN'
Isn't there a specialization at level 3 where you get a pet? That's how it is in tabletop at least. Or Larian bullshit?
>MISS MISS MISS MISS MISS MISS MISS MISS MISS MISS
I HATE DND
I HATE DND
That's why people minmax, because otherwise it's suffering.
Any word on whether the Abjuration Wizard's projected ward impacts concentration saves? I heard in previous builds they coded it as temp HP instead of a separate target like it should be.
Wizard is bad and boring
skill issue. your donut steal's class and stats don't matter if you just use proper tactics and give yourself an unfair advantage over the enemy in every fight
>giving advise even though OP doesn't know just how buffed multiclassing is or that racial bonuses aren't even static
so whats the downside to multiclassing than?
can I just go wizard/monk and still have access to all the wizard spells?
>sorc is just a better wizard
bros...
In a roleplaying single player campaign like this, then yeah, the charisma scaling classes are head and shoulders over the rest, because the alternative is having Wyll initiate convos for you. This is not Wyll's game, it's (You)r game
are there any INT checks that come up that actually impact shit like CHA does?
Yes, but since you're interacting with npcs most of the time, CHA scaling skills like Persuasion, intimidate, and deception reign supreme. Out and about you are more likely to get fricked over by having low wisdom than low int. Essentially Int is fine as a dumpstat if you're playing any class that doesn't revolve around it.
Thanks for this. Having an OP fighter to tank through an unfamiliar genre sounds awesome.
Is there a set of tips like this for BG1/2? Id love to make an OP tank class in an older style crpg.
I especially love games where you become OP as the game progresses, i know thats basically all wrpgs and a decent amount of jrpgs too but if you have any suggestions id love to hear them.
fighters in BG are very equipment dependent. What makes them OP is not plain stats, but the fact that they get best weapons, best armor, immunity to negative effects and stat buffs etc.
If you want true easy tank - play Pathfinder Kingmaker/Wrath, as straight fighter with 2h can litterally just do the game on autobattle killing 3 enemies per swing of weapon.
I'm thinking Half-Elf Avenger/Oathbreaker Paladin for goodguy first run, then Tiefling or Human Warlock of some sort for a more evil run. Thoughts? I haven't played a DnD CRPG in over a decade.
>3) Do not Multiclass. I repeat. DO NOT MULTICLASS. Its a trap. Whatever advantage you get has bigger downsides.
1-3 dips in other front loaded classes is worth the investment. 2 warlock + 10 lore bard is still a bard, except they have a reliable single target attack they can spam in the form of Eldritch Blast.
game is crashing constantly
fricking HELP
Play it on ps5, ez
>stuck on character creation because I cant decide on class and race
hehe
I will make a STR Wizard and ponder my orbs daily and there is NOTHING you can do about it.
if you want melee caster, just make Warlock, he`s better for that than wizard
>relying on the strength of demonic creatures
check yourself before you wreck yourself
then play Paladin?
>relying on the strength of deities
I am my own master
Become an oathbreaker paladin then.
3rd worlder here. Bought the game and trying to get it to run on Windows 7. Early access ran on 7 just fine. Any news or help with this?
Sure. Update to win10.
Still working babe
How difficult is Tactician?
apparently game is not difficult at all, tactician just adds more enemies per encounter and fixes AI so that they actually try to kill you and not run to die
But given its Larian game, you always have ways too cheese any encounters
I game over'd at nautilus bridge bc I took my time killing things and the Illithid died and the General started oneshotting my party
Is druid fun?
Yeah, though I think spore is the least interesting one. Wildshaping with full caster spells is cool, and you get decent armor along with more fun cantrips than anyone but repelling eldritch blast warlock.
Yeah very fun, if you want to be a bit tankier go 2 Druid then 1 barb then rest Druid for rage bear.
Quick guys, Oathbreaker Paladin or Archfey Warlock?
>minmaxing in a singleplayer rpg made in 202X
kek, bg3 doesnt even have delevel mechanics you zoomers are pathetic
I have no idea what class to play
How is rogue?
Is there any downside to making a custom character? I know in the divinity games you got a fair bit of extra content picking a specific origin but feels weird to not make a custom character in a baldurs gate game.
It really is a matter of choice. The origin characters apparently have a lot of content, so if you use a custom you'll be missing out.
I just dont really like the classes they have. I want to play a paladin dammit.
There's not a chance you'll see over 50% of the content in a single playthrough, so you could easily play one then the other. I'm going with a custom character because I like to make it entirely my story.
dont care, where can i find the mod for shadowcute hair?
any decent spells to take for a necromancer?
>Ok so here some tips
>ONLY METAGAME
> do NOT, under any circumstances, just play the game your own way
I really hate this bg community thats infesting this place.
So when I'm picking proficiencies do I just pick the ones that match my main stat? For example insight is wisdom based so I pick it on my druid?
So there are no more racial stat bonuses?
Why is rogue and ranger the least popular?
They're boring as shit
Monk class pretty cool.
>min maxing
>in a single player game
>in an rpg of all things
OP is exceptionally gay today
Are warlocks any fun in 5ith edition? in 3.5 they were so much fun.
Why the frick is Jump set to a dpad button but not Hide?
Down on dpad is "Hide Party"
>I'm a boring c**t and you need to be one too
frick off
I enjoy rogue
Genuine question, why the frick do dumbass homosexuals like this play as a human in a fricking FANTASY GAME. You are the most boring milktoast fricking loser ever created.
>why the frick do dumbass homosexuals like this play as a human
What do you play as? A black person?
There's like a dozen fricking races in this shit and you pick to play as a fricking human. Like how boring are you?
I always choose a female half elf. Sexy and graceful
Most of them act like humans and don't even look much different, what difference does it make?
>bard is just a better rogue
>fighter is just a better ranger (if ranged)
Cool rpg
To be fair the fighter thing is at least true to aD&D then
I'm going to play a wizard that doesn't use evocation spells in an all-male party
Is assassin fun?
How did they even implement multiclassing?
Ive read clerics were good
was that a lie?
>cant worship the dead three
Dogshit
Because they're literally dead
why the actual frick is there no way to check class features? would it have killed them to make a screen that shows what you get and at which level? they homebrewed a bunch of shit and there's no way to plan ahead.
why is this game so GOD DAMN demanding even on medium!?
All you had to say was just White Human Male Warrior, gaming time. Not all that stupid shit
What classes can be healers? I dont want shadowheart in my party.
Clerics are the only pure healers. Druids are okay though and paladins can offheal.
so the best party is the 3 in op and a cleric?
You can make shit work as a druid.
Why don't minmaxers turn the difficulty down and a play a class they like instead?
I'd rather play an unoptimized multi class build with social stats, a useless but glowing sword and fashion armor rather than a minmaxed fighter on hard
They live sad lives and watching numbers go up in an electronic toy is the only sense of accomplishment they know.
How do you not understand that making a build is a fun part of rpgs? Do you usually just play Call of Duty? Wait, even call of duty has builds now.
How's it making a build when you're following a minmaxing guide with no options?
You're the one who doesn't give a shit about building a character.
A minmaxed pure fighter is a build now? lmaooo
You are literally the biggest casual on this website. People are talking about ways to get the most out of their class and you pop in to tell everyone to turn the game down to easy and think you're big brained to do that. Just turn on god mode while you're at it you fricking brainlet, granny gamer.
Picking either a fighter, a ranger or a sorc and following a specific build is not getting the most of your class. It's minmaxing in a very specific way
Then don't follow a guide you fricking idiot.
>not usually super into isometric games
>everyone seems to be going ballistic with love about BG3
>no idea what I'd even play if i bought it
What are you guys rolling? I need inspiration.
pal drow
>tfw cant choose between bard, rogue and ranger
Just base it on what you want to roleplay them as.
I need a AAA Cyberpunk/Shadowrun CRPG
when you level up, do you distribute points/pick skills for your companions as well?
e.g. like DOS1/2
D&D doesn't handle level progression like that, everyone more works on a sort of linear timeline with new class features and abilities unlocked at specific level milestones. So depending on your class, reaching Level 4 for example might either just represent extra health or it might open up build-defining features & spells.
>bought the game in early access
>totally forgot about it
>just find out the full game is out
>80 Gig update
>150 GB needed
I have that space but frick this will take like, two days to install
My biggest bottleneck is my goddamn download speed
How’s life in Australia?
Nah, I'm a burger.
I practically live on a reservation though.
Larian says you should just delete the EA and download the whole thing fresh
It'd be so much easier to choose my class if I could SEE WHAT I FRICKING GET PER LEVEL, GODDAMIT LARIAN. I want to know what Transmutation spells are in the game so I don't waste my fricking time going with that subclass on wizard for all of 10 fricking spells or some shit,
I was really expecting the full release to show class features. I need to know if I should go pure warlock or switch to sorc at 3. Why are people datamining irrelevant shit like armour models instead of class features?
>Why are people datamining irrelevant shit like armour models instead of class features?
Because most class features are straight-up taken from 5e, so you can data mine it on your own by reading the tabletop rules.
DnD tabletop has tables that show everything you gain (obviously) and properly explain multi/dual classing autism. CRPGs always half ass the manual and instead of fixing it they just encourage spending a day studying the game on the wiki instead of playing it. Very annoying and an actual example of lazy game design.
The problem is you don't know what from those spell lists has actually been implemented or homebrewed(in this case) in the game because Larian didn't release the complete spell list.
5th ed has been out forever you fricking autist
There's an achievement for taking one level in every class without respeccing. What's the best order for something like that? Paladin start?
Exactly how many women can I frick in this game?
That's kinda my deciding factor for whether or not I end up buying it.
For me its wild magic sorcerer
>pick fighter
>level 2
>max STR
>can jump to the top of a fricking 3 stories tower
>hits like a truck
>bonus action
>a self-heal
enjoying life as a fighter, will let shadoprostitute suck my dick later
Playing as a barbarian and having gale cast jump on me so I can leap across the map is so damn tempting but I really wanna play a goo warlock with the tadpole talent that makes all hits crits so I'm gonna have to save jumpman for my good play through.
Holy shit this game sounds amazing
dual hand crossbows any cool? I wanna be a cowboy
Do all rangers get a stupid animal companion or only beast masters?
Please respond
All rangers can get find familiar at will, but only beastmaster can get an additional animal companion like a bear instead of just a 2 HP cat. Beastmaster can actually have both at once.
So I can play a ranger as an archer?
Yeah, that's actually a good choice for it. Ranger has good options for anything since you can use any armor and any weapon, so pick what you want.
What kind of spells do I want to pick up?
Hunter's Mark is one of their best and unique to them, it lets you mark an enemy so that every single hit you do to them does more damage. And you can reapply the mark to someone else without having to cast the spell again, and it lasts all day. Healing Word is also good just in case you want to revive a KO'd ally really easy from far away.
Past those, whatever sounds cool.
Rolling a CIS White Male Paladin with a Longsword tonight. Will smite all non Good NPCs where they stand.
Same, I will ethnically cleanse the game.
>Lolth Drow warlock that's been exiled, starts off horrible but slowly becomes ok
I'm basic and I don't even care
I want to be a skelly summoner but not a nerd wizard. Can warlock or sorcs become necormancers?
maybe a spore druid?
Is there a class that can duel wield?
Heard your mum dual wields dicks
Any class can technically, but the best choices would be Fighter, Ranger, and Bard (Sword) because they get the Two Weapon Fighting Style as an option, so that you can add your str/dex stat to your damage.
Literally everyone can technically dual wield from the start. It's also called two weapon fighting instead of dual wielding in d&d
If you get rogue you get to sneak attack really well
Some classes get fighting styles like Fighters who can specialize in it for proper fighting with two weapons
What are the dialogue options for ranger like?
DOWN DOWN DOWN
BY THE RIVER
Does race and gender give different insults when you play a bard?
Like with a male orc give diferent insults to say a female elf
Playing a barbarian is just too fun, im intimidating everyone and everything, i just intimidated a squirrel.
Help I can't decide between sorcerer or paladin
>no halfling or dwarf female romance
sigh
>.1% of players have gotten through the very beginning
lol
These are the guys telling you the game is so easy you can beat it on hard with a low str fighter.
Most pro gamers are perfecting their character appearance right now.
>low str fighter.
Anon you can get damage from dex too
There's too much fire everywhere, and when I finally got past most of it without pathing through it and dying, I attacked some undulating thingy on the deck and it blew up and killed me.
>he didn't design his character for 1hour+
>Fap
>Post nut clarity hits
>Feel disgusted and refund the game
I wish the game would give more info on subclasses. I'm just fricking around in the character creator because I'm waiting to play co-op with my wife this weekend and I'm really unsure what I want to play. Looking at the list of subclasses Larian put out when they announced the release date, spore druid sounds cool but frick if I know what it actually does. Monks also sound cool but do they have any sort of gear progression if they can't wear armor? I like being able to use my loot.
Also is trickster domain cleric cool at all?
Unfortunately, a lot of it is guessing if it's the exact same as 5e or if they did drastic overhauls like Ranger, Berserker, etc.
Assuming they didn't do huge changes, Spore Druid is all about becoming tankier and getting into melee combat, with you using wildshape charges to get extra HP, make an aura that chips away at enemies, and do more damage every time you hit them, and later on you can turn dead bodies into zombies you control.
Armor's usually less interesting for unique magic gear than weapons or rings are, so monk shouldn't lose out too much there. Their level progression also adds a lot to what they can do, since all their resources increase each level and are fully restocked with a short rest.
Trickster domain cleric's cool. Enables a lot of stealth for themselves and others, great free spells that most clerics don't get, still all the great base cleric things. Shadowheart starts as one so you can use her in your party if you want to see what it's like before reclassing yourself/her if you wanted to take the role.
Thanks for the big writeup! Honestly all of those sound cool so it still makes the choice hard haha
Pretty much anything can feel like a main character, and you can respec the character real early and frequent so no need to feel like you're locked in. If you went Monk and get a really cool greatsword and heavy armor, nothing stopping you from swapping to Paladin to give it a test run.
How do you play couch coop on this game ? I haven't seen the option.
What does rogue play like? I want to be a really evil bastard but opening combat with stealth every time doesnt seem fun.
If it's like actual DnD then you actually mostly work around flanking attacks. Same shit with KOTOR in that sneak attacks are actually you hitting a stunned person.
I don't think Arcane Trickster relies on stealth much besides the one Sneak Attack spell.
How hard is it to play a heavy armor Warlock without multiclassing?
Fighter sucks up until level11
I can't see a sorcerer carrying the rest of the party unless you rest spam
Ranger with 3 levels of thief rogue (thief), eventually 4, is a better ranger lmao
Human sucks, half elf does everything it does but better
Yes, this is a larian game so consumables are OP as frick
>Yes, this is a larian game so consumables are OP as frick
On that note, reminder to always take mage hand so it can throw potions and bombs and poisons on its turn. For added fun, take Lazael and get a second mage hand for free.
Why are fighters better at ranged combat than a ranger?
Because rangers get an animal familiar, potentially an animal companion, and spells. Fighters just hit stuff and they're good at that regardless of weapon choice.
>live long enough to see frothing at the mouth defending journalist mode in games
Holy frick the election ruined this site. Every third post is someone advocating cheating or turning the difficulty down to toddler.
>defending
>usually enjoy rogues in fantasy rpgs
>hate them in turn based games
What class would I enjoy bros?
GoO Warlocks should get permanent detect thoughts rather than having to waste a cast on it and losing it every time you want to cast a concentration spell. Failing that, they should at least get the spell as a cantrip.
I'm a dragonborn paladin, frick you
character creation is suprisingly limited, or am i missing something? and you cant even choose dark black, it just turns grey?
So dark urge doesn’t recognize your racial choices, right? If you want those you need to do custom?
Been stuck on character creation for 2 hours
Might just end up going fighter
What's the most fun class/build? Both in social encounters and combat.
Warlock
been having fun with Fiend Warlock. Since you use Charisma for your spells you get the added benefit of also doing good on speech checks.
I made mine with Dark Urge origin and it doesnt look like a diceroll to resist it. The squirrel bit happens automatically and you can rip the wings off the bird that Nettie was healing as a dialogue option.
You also do shit like pic related and then have to deal with the consequences
Reclassing your entire party into 1 trickery domain cleric and 3 assassins because it's funny.
>wild magic sorc has fun random stuff happening in combat
ITS TIME
So what were the changes to monk and its two subclasses?
SHADOWHEART STYLES HER PUBES
Just started with an elf ranger. I think I'll go gloomstalker assassin. How should I proceed ?
Ranger up to level 5, Rogue up to 4, the rest can be whatever. More ranger, rogue, throw in some fighter, all good.
The mods are already being updated on Nexus,
Is there a “hard” mode or is it just normal/easy?
HOW THE FRICK DO I FIGURE OUT WHAT TO PLAY THERE ARE LITERALLY INFINITE OPTIONS OH MY GOD
Just make all your stats equal and take one level of everything
>I have become death, destroyer of worlds
Remember, you have an entire party of other characters (you + 3 others at a time) that you can customize and reclass to anything you want too. Anything you think you also want to be, just make a party member do it. Make 4 characters you want to play as.
Can you respec the other origin characters into whatever you want?
Yep, they'll treat them by plot like they're their old class (so the Warlock still has a patron even if you made him a Fighter), but no limits on it for gameplay.
Ah, thats good. That gives more options then.
Don't bulli gobbos
bard is so gay and boring holy frick
Sorc reroll inc
what a bunch of gay text. if you want to HAVE FUN then pick a barbarian, go bear totem, and RAGE.
reckless attack will basically guarantee you hit each time and RAGE and BEAR TOTEM will guarantee that you take LITERALLY ZERO DAMAGE
pick up great weapon master as your first feat and HIT LIKE A FRICKING TRUCK while NEVER MISSING and taking LITERALLY ZERO DAMAGE
does anyone know if hand crossbows work like they did in EA? If I need twf then I need to change plans
Has anyone playing ITT reached whichever NPC offers respecs yet?
Yeah, Withers does it, he can also resurrect your party members still
>Asmodeus Tieflings no logner get Thaumaturgy, only Zariel Tieflings
What is this foolishness? Now I have to choose between Darkness or Thaumaturgy.
Anyone know if Tome Pact is still predetermined cantrips?
Wait for real? All this time I've been agonizing over the fact that you can't make a good looking tiefling and now I'm going to be playing as a fricking Drow anyway?
They really need to let you pick thaumaturgy as a cantrip on non-clerics
It's a super powerful cantrip what with all the Intimidation dialogue options there are, and right now the only option to get it besides Multiclassing/Initiate feat Cleric is rolling Zariel Tiefling. But the smite spells that gives are useless on an Eldritch Blast warlock.
I'd get it from Tome Pact but for some insane reason they predefined those cantrips.
Yeah I'm playing evil and I loved all the intimidate checks in the EA (and I didn't even play the whole thing). But without having both thaumaturgy and darkness and with how much I hate the tiefling faces in this game, I'm really tempted to just give up on thaumaturgy , play Drow for darkness, and rely on inspiration dice the rare times I actually fail to intimidate (shame to waste inspiration on something I could have innate advantage on though). I dunno, what a stupid change.
Frick it, I'm just gonna go with the Zariel Tiefling and go Blade Pact to get some use out of those smites.
Anon no! Blade pact wants darkness and devil's sight!
If those two even interact properly, because they didn't in Early Access.
Ah shit homie does your familiar chime in to speak?
Can Warlock get Pact of the Familiar or does Warlock suck in this game?
Pact of the Familiar is better than ever in this game because the imp doesn't use your action. But whether it's actually worth going >2 in Warlock instead of multiclassing into Sorc remains to be seen, as we don't know how they've homebrewed the class features yet. Do we really think GoO Warlocks are going to get permanent thralls? Seems unlikely but people are too busy datamining cosmetic shit to look into the class features and Larian was too lazy to include them in the character creator.
Do you need fighter proficiencies? Pact of the blade gives you automatic proficiency in your pact weapon. You could go Gith for medium armor proficiency out of the gate. Surely you're better off multiclassing into bard or paladin at that point if you wanted to add more melee shit in? I dunno, I've never played a martial nor a hexblade so take this advice with a grain of salt.
>Do you need fighter proficiencies?
I want to put on heavy armor and use a greatsword with Pact of the Blade, plus Eldritch Blast for ranged attack. I could probably go for Paladin for extra synergy but I feel like Paladin flavour wouldn't fit my character concept. And Bard doesn't give Heavy Armor prof.
I also just thought maybe I could dip Ranger instead and take Ranger Knight to also get a pet and some energy resistance.
>Pact of the blade strength Warlock with 1 level of Fighter for proficiencies.
Yay or Nay?
Scout ahead for enemy groups and traps.
test post don't mind me 4sq4nP
>NPCs keep running away from my bear summon
Oh come on. They didnt fricking fix this?
wouldn't YOU fricking run from a bear?
Can you play with just the mouse? I'm not gonna jerk off while playing or anything I'm just extremely lazy
What kind of pets can Ranger take? Is Beastmaster spec a thing?
is the combat just horrible combat to divinity??
is the dark urge recruitable or is it a "need to play him" class
i wanna play dark hungy but don't wanna do it if i can find him
>naked female tiefling
I'm uhh, gonna be stuck in this character creator for a while.
Well, Ganker? Can you?
>top surgery scars
>macbook
>"want to get a pc but idk where to even begin"
>scaly, shipper and an artgay
Yep, it's a brainwashed woman
Just mod it and be invincible, or get max stat points
Pick who you want
Enjoy
So how do I increase the party size so I can play with more than 4 people?
i've only ever played scifi tabletop games so i have no idea:
what the frick is the practical difference between wizards, warlocks and sorcerers? which one are chad old graybearded men and which one is made for being raped in japanese h games
Sorcerers are naturally gifted with magical powers, Wizards learned magic by learning, Warlocks are Wizards but evil.
wizard it is then
>Warlocks are Wizards but evil.
Warlocks are cheating homosexuals that bargain for power with a stronger entity and become its minion or agent.
Could be ancient squid god, demon/devil, fae or even a sufficiently powerful angel.
Downside is that you don't earn your magic normally and your boss has tasks they want doing.
Positive is that all your spells are as powerful as they can be regardless of the slot you use for it.
>chad old graybearded men
Wizards
>raped in hentai games
Warlocks when their deals go wrong
Sorcerers are like autistic wizards that cast spells naturally through talent but only cast a handful of their favorites
>get fricked by gnolls
>get fricked by giant spiders
>get fricked by goblins
Well frick me. At least I can talk to the goblins.
Tome Pact is confirmed to be predefined Guidance, Vicious Mockery and Thorn Whip.
At this point I'm tempted to just ditch warlock and go sorc or bard instead.
>chain is easily the best
>nerf tome
I guess it's just lazy.
Sex with Us!
>5e Ranger
>good, much less better than anything else
God this post reeks of someone who's never touched 5e and thinks BG3 will play exactly like BG1 and 2.
>see black npc
>*quicksaves*
Is this game appealing at all for someone who doesn't want to frick bears or dickgirls?
It's Dragon Age Origins 2.
If that appeals to you play it, it's free after all.
You're not forced to do either.
Yes as you don't have to engage in degeneracy and can kill pretty much everyone in the game. Even Mr. Bear.
Are there any actual dickgirls in the game other than character creations?
Are mage characters fun to play? I want to feel like a badass wizard.
Wizard in DND are CC bots but I’m sure Larian has applied Divinity bullshit liberally so you can explode things in 2 hours
If you wanna be a spell slinging damage dealer in DnD you go sorc instead of wizard, everyone knows this.
Everyone who plays BG1/2 knows this
Your average person who bought even PF kingmaker complained constantly
>magic is useless my fireball never hits anything enemy always succeeds save
Yes but you have to know how to magic good, Wizards are the best magic class but its expected you have some understanding of how you should be magicing.
What do I need to know from Baldur gate 1-2 before playing this game? Also what's Ganker's recommend class and race?
The absolute state of redditoids
>when you're so fricking moronic even Redditors manage to bait you
LOL
>Didnt check his profile to see that it's actually real
>NOOOOOOOOO YOU HAVE TO LET US LIVE IN YOUR GROVE, LEECHING OFF YOUR RESOURCES, WHILE OUR CHILDREN COMMIT CRIMES NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Tieflings are such complete Black folk. Kagha did nothing wrong.
I can fix her
Bald Gays 3 is for nerds
>all these /tg/ homosexuals minmaxing the shit out the game already
Pact of the Blade Warlock or Wildmagic Barbarian?
What race do I make my hunter ranger?
Does Bardin Inspiration just do nothing if I don't turn it on to Ask instead of just On?
Thanks OP for reminding me that there are some people out there who only play video games to feel strong and powerful, for some kind of termimal power fantasy they can't achieve irl and how I do not suffer from that brand of video game brainrot.
I WILL be playing a a multiclassed gimmick build with a homemade witten out character lore bg. And I WILL be having a blast. Thanks again.
>some kind of termimal power fantasy they can't achieve irl
In contrast to cool people like you and me, who can actually cast jaw-dropping spells and shapeshift into animals irl
more like you'll be RPing a moron because you are a moron LMAO OWNED moron
You will maybe complete the game once on medium difficulty. You will never know the pure bliss of your mind being dissolved into the game itself, you will never reach the transcendent state of game knowledge that comes from thousands of hours of obsession, where you can build a character capable of beating the hardest difficulty not only when awake but even while dreaming. You are not one of us.
>medium difficulty
Lmao it's called dnd core rules and its the only real "difficulty" you should be playing these games on
>t. shitter
How is the controller support?
>storm sorc
>go human
>tank str to 8, get to carry 300 pounds still
>get FREE light armor and shield prof
>go storm sorc, now have more armor than scalie RP homosexuals
>fly 30 feet away with no AoO every single turn you cast a spell
>use cleric to put water on shit if you wanna go nova
EZ GAME
What are some of the later subclass features because looking at the tabletop ones they look kinda meh
Dunno how they handled the later ones but human already makes level 1 of it more worth it than dragongay for me. If it's really terrible I'll respec to scalie along with everyone else. Unlike PnP we do double damage to wet shit, btw. That includes things in steam clouds.
>Unlike PnP we do double damage to wet shit, btw
Why do they have to force in their divinity environmental meme shit, just make it give advantage for fricks sake
Are dragonborn supposed to be the OP race? I just like how they look
That sounds pretty cool, now you kinda have me wanting to go Sorc instead of Warlock.
Eh I'm just gonna play what I think will be fun
Thanks anyway metagay
do i need a rogue for not missing loot and locked things?
Pick up chest->send to camp->make a pile of locked chests in camp->fireball them all
Is sorc fun?
This is objectively moronic advice by any metric.
i haven't touched a DnD game since NWII more than a decade ago, is balanced ok enough or explorer is better since i have no idea about any of the systems yet,
Balanced is fine, just read what your abilities do.
>441,000 playing
holy moly. i didn't think BG was that popular honestly.
we haven't gotten a Dragon Age or Witcher game in a while
REMINDER TO DISABLE KARMIC DICE.
It's on by default, turn it off or you'll find yourself seething.
this was already fixed, why are you trying to trick people LOL
>half-orc ranger with a human skin tone
Thoughts?
>Playing a ranger.
Honestly just play fighter and use bows/crossbows.
perhaps he wants to feel like a pokemon trainer?
Then play a Warlock with the pact of the chain.
Rangers have been treated like fricking dirt when it comes to 5e and I'm tired of pretending they haven't.
Ranger rework in 5e is pretty good, and Ranger's other rework in BG3 is fantastic. It's not base 5e and hasn't been for a long time.
>Wizard is not even an option.
frick you Black person I'm making a necromancer with a bunch of SKELETONS dancing around me at ALL TIMES
>min/maxing
>in a single player game
>that only has 12 levels
What the frick this only goes up to 12? Even the new Solasta DLC (haven't played yet) goes up to fricking 18 and WotR goes up to 20.
Commander Dick is impossible on Tactician now lmao
Time to move on
Yeah I noticed. Tried to kill him three times, never even got close, and I'm pretty sure the other cambions now rush in way earlier.
AHHH FRICK OFF CAMBIONS FRICK OFF
How do I oathbreak with the oath of vengeance?
ok my character can be n4ked, but: can i smoke w33d in this game? haha
Any Warlock players can tell me if they've already gotten to interact with the patron? I'm mainly interested in the roleplaying aspect of the class.
Secondan the question because warlocks aren't really that interesting in 5e tbh, it's all the patron side
I wonder how many poor saps are going to believe this advice. Paladin, cleric, bard and wizard are the best classes in 5e
Have bards and clerics ever been even close to being bad apart from ad&d(only for bards, I think clerics were nice even then)
FRICK YOU I DID IT FRICK YOUR 195 HP AND YOUR NOW EARLY SPAWNING wienerLICKERS homosexual
I AM TACTICIAN
YOU ARE SHIT
this looks like absolute dogshit visually
that's cool; didn't ask, don't care
ok but make sure you don't do it in your parent's house. You owe that much, you giant homosexual
true, the game's atmosphere and isometric perspective isnt used effectively, watching lirik play the game it looked like DA:I , but worse
Noice. Any tips? I remember doing the WotR elemental at the start and using all the scrolls and little items you find around the beginning level really helped take him out.
yeah; don't waste your time carrying the containers there anymore because they don't explode
they just put a pool of useless bullshit on the floor.
Sorc's chromatic orb lightning helped a ton. I've also heard you can command him to drop the sword and if so, I would do that and then leave. Not worth the 75 xp and the cambions are just a flat out no-go on Tactician
>I've also heard you can command him to drop the sword
Hope my Edgyboy warlock will be able to do this. I love cool interactions like that.
holy shit, how anon? gratz btw
as gay as it is you have to savescum Shadowheart's and your two spell casts and hope that RNG is on your side for that weak ass mindflayer to live long enough
everyone has to pound that guy and have a wizard sorc or ranged guy go stand at the console while ranged blasting so you can GTFO the second you loot the sword
The achievement for killing commander Zhalk isn't working. Now my friends will think I'm a shitter.
yeah it is, I just got it.
Ah, it only triggers if your party gets the killing blow instead of the mindflayer I guess.
makes sense, that cuck died two turns before I killed him
>having friends
loser
UNGA BUNGA CLUB SMASH
yeah min maxing isnt required, ive beaten bg2 like with every class
im gonna replay bg1 +2 before 3,
Setting background details:
If you don't commit yourself to a god, your soul is consigned to be digested over hundreds of years as a brick in a great physical example to everyone else why they should get on their knees and submit to the status quo. Your best bet in that situation is to hope a devil or demon comes along and is willing to drag you out where you'll then be converted into a blasphemous infernal homonculi and have to climb your way up a fricked, cannibalistic hierarchy as a creature of raw evil.
Also, wizards are all artificially limited in the scope of their power and all magic present in the setting comes from Ed Greenwood's waifu. So if a mage in the Forgotten Realms ever managed to leave, they might have a hard time being a mage. But that isn't unique to The Forgotten Realms by any means. Just ask Dark Sun mages.
>If you don't commit yourself to a god, your soul is consigned to be digested over hundreds of years as a brick in a great physical example to everyone else why they should get on their knees and submit to the status quo. I'm sure there's still a few ways of saving your ass out of a horrible afterlife without also needing to be a lv20 godlike adventurer
If it was a competitive game with a leaderboard sure but this is a story centered rpg, I don't really care about your useless tips.
I've also played dnd for a long ass time and min maxing is never as fun as making a rp centered character.
Black person I created cold dragonborn sorc and I WILL PLAY IT. KYS.
does rogue or monk get anything fun? i dont know what i want to play
I CANT FRICKING KILL COMMANDER ZHALK! More specifically in 5 turns or less before the 3 demons that one hit kill your fricking party spawn behind you.
Even if I get a hail mary of lucky crits that allow me to kill Commander Zhalk, then the the Mindflayer simply turns around and instagibs my party before we can flee.
brainboy should be position to eat the first round of Cambion hits
Mindflayer will NOT attack you if the cambions are out (and how the frick did you keep him alive, putting shield on him didn't even work for me, are you on normal?) so try to kill him turn 1 or 2 after the cambions appear
>so try to kill him turn 1 or 2 after the cambions appear
how? my paladin and the gith companion only do about 5 damage if we hit. And shadowheart hits for 10 damage at best with her cleric spells
> are you on normal?
yes
>try ranger
>super bored early on
What do I try next?
wizard is literallyb
better*
not in the vidya game he's not
metamagic>>>>> everything
OP here: If you do this without playing the murderhobo background you're moronic btw.
Do you have to make a Larian account to play a steam game? That's gay as hell don't care about cross platform bullshit
Why the frick isn't withers in the crypt?
This game must be seriously homebrewed if sorcerer is better than wizard in 5e.
Not really, encounters and enemies in video games are heavily scripted and repetitive so you can get by just fine with way less spells.
Not to mention the video game format that eliminates a lot of spells present in paper nerfing wizard's versatility even more.
this has been the case in almost every D&D video game ever
in PnP = versatility and creativity
in vidya gaem where you murder millions = blasting/cc >>> versatility
in 5e with sorcs having metamagic and haste being as disgusting as they are, they win. Twinning haste automatically makes them better barring all the other considerations
Or they go the other way around like BG 1,2 and Pathfinder WoTC where wizard is still superior because you have an ungodly amount of access to scrolls where in any sensible game you wouldn't be close to having.
sorc is way better in WotR and Kingmaker
way way way way better
>beaten both multiple times on Unfair as both
Compared to regular wizard ye but the scroll scribe or whatever it was called was really strong, comparable to sorc imo
Scroll scribe was arguably the strongest caster in the game given the game provided infinite scrolls for purchase and hundreds to find.
well the scroll savant got hard gayed by nerfs anyways and bloodlines in PF are just silly, like getting a full martial in the form of a pet
Are you Warlocks gonna multiclass into Sorc or just stay pure Warlock?
the frick is a Warlock, anyway?
How do they differ from Wizards and Sorcerors?
BG1 and 2 didn't have those
People who get their powers from pacts with powerful entities like devils or fey beings
So gameplay wise no different
No, they're quite different. Their spells are always up-scaled to the highest level but they can only cast two. However, their spells recover on short rests as well as long rests unlike Wizard and Sorc who can only recover spells on long rests.
newbie to these series here
Is this game Like Dininity? Saw some gameplay and it looks the same
I WILL savescum to pass ALL skillchecks. (Also not paying)
the female head options are all kinda ugly
Tell me that you're autistic without telling me that you're autistic
Do I get a pact weapon as a warlock?
is there any class to multispec with rogue? like dip in a one or a couple levels and be way stronger?
>want my party to be me and 3 babes
>will end up with fighter/barb/cleric because of this
What do I make my character? If I go a high charisma face, I'll be lacking an INT skill-bitch. And vice versa if I go an high INT character.
I haven't played the game yet but do you need the barb?
Bros, i want to rip off gale hands, he will be Ok?
Is dark urge really Tav+? So no reason to go normal Tav as first time player?
Swen said specifically that he wouldn't recommend Dark Urge on a first playthrough. Make of that what you will.
>You will play a wild shape druid
>You will just take average CHA
>You will focus wolf shape
>You will score more human, white girl pussy then the most CHA dripped out bard
>wanted to play cleric
>they removed the dead three from the divinity list
sigh
moron here
whats the guardian
do i care about how they look?
>2) For that reason - ignore all classes aside from Fighter, Ranger, Sorcerer.
Paladin is the strongest class in a tier of it's own and Cleric is not only stronger than two classes in your list but is easier to play.
Where torrent
>3070
>non stop stuttering exploring new areas
Why?
Because you bought a garbage card
Next
Recommended card is a 1060
Then you shoulda got a 1060 since its recommended
Isn't the game Vulkan based?
If so then its caching new shaders.
I could try switching to Vulkan. Isn't it more strenuous performance wise?
Vulkan is a modern lower level API than the outdated DX11 and thus has less overhead/can be made to be faster. It's also officially recommended by the devs.
God, turn-based feels so bad to play.
What’s the point of playing a video game inspired by D&D if it doesn’t remove the biggest hurdle imposed by pen and paper?
>99 Yoshi-p coins have been deposited into your bottom surgery savings account.
>What’s the point of playing a video game inspired by D&D if it doesn’t remove the biggest hurdle imposed by pen and paper?
The biggest problem is that 5e's action economy doesn't translate well to RTwP at all. The action/bonus action/reaction system means that you'd have to pause all the time to micro your actions and bonus actions, and your reactions wouldn't be worth shit.
Managing features like smite would also be a pain in the ass, since those are applied after landing a hit.
I personally prefer RTwP or straight-up real time to turn-based, but it wouldn't work for 5e D&D. 2e was much more simplistic, which is why BG1 and BG2 got away with it.
>3) Do not Multiclass. I repeat. DO NOT MULTICLASS. Its a trap. Whatever advantage you get has bigger downsides.
Can't wait to do my Warlock/Cleric and be a healer who can blast fools with eldrich blast.
It's going to be sweet.
>Warlocks can't use their slots for sorc spells
haha get fricked morons
also going to post a reddit pic and I don't give a frick, so go cry about it if you want. This gay is the one who is using a mod to level everything to 12 to see how shit works.
Storm Bros, I TOLD you we win
I absolutely hate these minimalistic spell icons.
I'm getting bg1 flashbacks
>Warlocks can't use their slots for sorc spells
Okay but that still doesn't tell me if I should dual class warlock into word or not
Into sorc, rather
Yes, if you're an idiot you definitely should
So if you equip a rapier it automatically chooses dex or str for damage, right
Yep, whichever's higher.
>Tfw want to play but have to wait for my homosexual friends to get on so we can play the campaing together
I can already tell it's going to take me 2 years to beat this game because of sheduling issues, just like a real rpg
>Somehow immediately lost the Book of the Dead
FRICK
Was it in that trapped room, or in another?
ok give it to me straight, no sensationalism, no contrarianism, no bs.
can i expect a fun game with a wide variety of rp potential? i barely care about anything else, i just want to know if the game is worth getting into. i know next to nothing about baldurs gate but i enjoy rpgs where you can play any kind of character you like
Do I need to know the lore of BG 1-2 or DND to understand what is going on in this game?
Any fun/strong multiclass options for vengeance pally? Probably going into two handed weapons exclusively.
After level 6 in Vengeance Paladin, it's pretty good to go a full caster since Paladin's 7 to 12 skills are pretty weak. Since you could still multiclass into something even with 8 in their main stat, I think a good choice is War Cleric to make you do bonus action attacks/add +10 to hit along with good spells and full spell slots to spend on smites.
I was literally torn between War Cleric and Vengeance Pally so this is excellent news. I think I'll give it a shot, thanks bro.
Weren't preorders supposed to be auto upgraded to digital deluxe? What happened to that?
