They're objectively bad and it's impossible to like this garbage unless you're just overly nostalgic. You like the memories of your childhood, not the game.

I played them for the first time this year and enjoyed them. the "people only like ____ because they played it as a kid" argument is shit because there are ALWAYS counter-examples
>the "people only like ____ because they played it as a kid" argument is shit because there are ALWAYS counter-examples
They're always found out to be lying, like you are. Same goes for Obliviongays, WoWgays, Morrowindgays, UUgays, Arxgays and NewVegasgays.
>like you are
proof?
All of this kiddy stockholme syndrome. It's impossible for them to enjoy good games now because of their nostalgia
Fricking zoomers are pathetic
Stockholm Syndrome is where you develop an emotional attachment to an abuser or captor. Not having rose-tinted glasses about the quality of a game from your childhood. At best you might be able to claim that about a game that's inordinately difficult and claim that it's only because of the constant failure and abuse of the game that people call it good, like Contra or Ghosts n' Goblins. But Baldur's Gate doesn't fit that bill.
Your metaphor sucks, your thread is gay, and given the opportunity you should 40% yourself off the board.
>It's impossible for them to enjoy good games now because of their nostalgia
What would be a good game for you, OP?
Skyrim.
Haha, oh wow.
Unstable Baldurstroony alert
>its edgy not to like my shit game
zoomers weren't even born when baldur's gate came out. you're contradicting yourself
>t. filtered by tarnesh
Be glad then, BG3 was made for your kind.
I played them this year for the first time.
They are amazing games.
Patrician taste, anon.
baldurs gate 1 and 2 are great clearing out the maps is FUN. What game do you consider to be superior then this garbage OP?
rtwplets BTFO
hard as you might try... you'll never be a woman
I never played them as a child and I enjoyed Baldur's Gate I and finished it in not a lot of time
If you're not having fun probably you have a shit character or party. I know it because it happened to me too
You will never be a woman.
Hijacking your thread to ask, are these games actually decent? Never really got a chance to play a whole lot of crpgs since I was mostly a console owner growing up.
If it's not too difficult to get into I was considering getting it then. Are they long games?
They're fairly long. There are difficulty configurations, but as long as you familiarize yourself with the rules then there won't be a problem. These old games expected that players read the manual, so don't go in expecting any kind of handholding.
yeah they're great, the first one is a bit lacking in some ways but is still a very good game, and the second is a classic. it's definitely a big time investment though.
would definitely recommend playing them.
I literally played and beat both this year and enjoyed them both. But I’m also capable of watching movies made before I was born without passing out from lack of stimulating Marvel quips and explosions so maybe I’m the odd one out.
you're so unique anon not like the other girls at school
OLD GAME BAD
NEW GAME GOOD
Baldur's Gate is a new game you stupid homosexual
I didn't play these games until I was like 17. Trust me, it's not nostalgia.
i agree OP. Didn't play through all of the first game but it was shit. The fricking metal is bad boo fricking hoo who the frick cares I want to kill god. Fricking wrpggays
>free-range use of "objectively"
>Usage of "nostalgia"
Well, you sure you don't want to add "dilate" or "cope"? We can bump your grade up into a D.
I only have Stockholm for image related.
They were pretty fun. When you get used to the flow of it, you don't even need the AI turned on. It's fun that way especially when you start using cleric command to stop casters from casting in BG1 and learning how to take advantage of different ability speeds.
Why are all depictions of drow of them being light grey and not the jet black that they are? Is it racism?
It's mostly because jet black skin is difficult to depict, unless you use a good contrast. It usually looks like shit otherwise. So most artists simply don't bother.
Have you ever tried to draw expression or interesting lighting on something that's completely pitch black? Let alone just making them stand out from their gear, which is also going to be dark colors, and their background, which is doing to be dark given they're drow? There's a fairly good reason artists pretty much universally ignore the "jet black skin" stuff, it's an absolute b***h to do well.
Let me guess, you got your ass handed to you while playing BG1 and came here to complain about how the game is shit and nobody likes it.
Wrong, didn't play them until a few years ago when I hit 30
They were great and Irenicus is one of the best wrpg villains ever.
Eat dicks OP, I just got into CRPGs and BG 1 and 2 are next on my backlog.
