It's because everyone knows that you're a woman by the way you dress up your character, or how they look by design. At worst you are recognized as a gay male but most gay males these days are playing as the big husky types; I assume your character is something close to a twink.
I don't understand. Why is the inverse not true, then, with a female character obviously made/picked by a male player? If I pick hot men I should be a FTM troony by the logic of trannies.
Because FTMs and MTFs both stereotypically choose a very shallow form of the gender they are trying to be. FTMs will abandon all sense of femininity and would not embrace such features. They try to be grisly and tough men both still have limber shoulders and a soft face.
MTFs try to be overly feminine to compensate for their lack of understanding. They are all pretty and pink and girly but don't recognize that being a woman is more than that.
It's ironic honestly. We have people trying to break the mold of gender stereotypes while doubling down on them. The trans movement has only set real gender equality back another 10 years because now men and women are conditioned to believe their "irregularities" merely need to be corrected. You can no longer be a woman who likes sports and boy things. You can no longer be a man who is a bit sensitive and likes girl things. You must affix yourself to meet the standard and any questioning of such is transphobic and invites violence.

This thread will probably 404 but I have to say that sometimes I get really down about thinking about that reality. I'm nearing the point in my life where I want to have children and am looking forward to being a father. Yet I hesitate because of all this shit going on. I don't want to raise a son or a daughter and have that moment be stripped away from me from "well-meaning" faculty like a school who insists that they have dysphoria.
The good news however is that I'm not really alone in these thoughts. I've realized this whole trans movement is overblown and is losing a lot of traction. I think the most likely scenario is that trans people will become a fraction and mostly accumulate in some spaces or even countries, while the rest of the world will continue to repopulate.

(Most) trans people are sexual deviants. They pursue a form deriving of pleasure or dissatisfaction of their current one. A lot and I mean A LOT of MtFs are coomers, plainly put. FtM's less so, but I digress. The fact of the matter is their statistic cannot keep up with traditional families who will raise their children with those same values. Trans people are not interested in the same way and are more self-absorbed to the point of psychosis. They will die out like nature taking it's course. That's a stark way of putting it, but ultimately true.
