I literally have no idea what any of the enemies or bosses actually do and I don't care.
How do people have fun playing the game like this?
How can you use a single move over and over and have fun?
the same could be said of all video games.
lilbro pretending that the game is way deeper than roll, attack
Experementing and exploring options isn't fun. I prefer familiarity and reliability, it makes me feel safe. It's autism.
Thoss are strength tards. It's a group comprised of 80% "this is my first souls game" and 20% autists. Dex enjoyers actually appreciate weapons for their flow and movement options.
>Dex enjoyers actually appreciate weapons for their flow and movement options.
lmao stfu. you spam art homosexual
No? When the moveset of the weapon has actual travel distance you don't need weapon arts unless you want to weave it into a combo. You don't know the joy of blending up a group of enemies with a twinblade. Not the braindead str funnel, but jumping right into the middle of an enemy camp and wheeling around 720 degrees to dispatch threats as they zerg rush you from all sides.
>be dex enjoyer
>spam lightning zweihander with lions claw
cope and seethe
That's not a dex enjoyer. Being a strength moron is not about the weapon but how you use it. Only repeating 1 move from a weapon is what makes you a strength tard. You will never understand the light greatsword aka the best weapon type ever made.
I'm gonna put lions claw on a light greatsword and there's nothing you can do to stop me.
You break my heart
If it makes you feel better I'll probably be spamming piercing fang instead, it's the better choice for greatsword class weapons.
There's nothing inherently "dex" about not using literally 1 or 2 moves to beat the game.
Dex has just as many opportunities to do this with by spamming bullshit overpowered aows like piercing fang and unsheathe just like str can lion's claw and spam jump attacks.
Nothing makes me laugh more than video game elitism ESPECIALLY when it's coming from a clueless moron who tries to high road someone else when, ironically enough, theyre probably dogshit at the game themselves.
I've beaten elden ring ranging from consumables only to a dagger+0 only. I am not saying this to brag but to tell you to sit the frick down and stop pretending you're better than anyone else because you're a DeX EnJoYer. You homosexuals are so corny it's unbelievable.
People didn't complain about Diablo or Elder Scrolls or FPS games so why not?
Not everyone is an autistic adhd moron who can't stay focused if the screen isn't filled by brig colours and anime shit. I've literally never used other weapon that wasn't long sword/uchigatana/claymore and I've beaten each of these games multiple times.
>missing the point
I'm asking if it's fun to use A SINGLE ATTACK over and over and over again.
How is using the same L2 over and over with no variation fun? Where is the enjoyment in not using any of the rest of a weapon's moveset?
Lion's Claw is SO FRICKING BROKEN
I love it
Its kinda crazy that from all the other shit being nerfed, Lion's Claw stood the test of time. This shit is strong every weapon.
Cause we are monkey brains? It do most number, therefore press L2. I could have 10 spells, but the moment you piece together the FP cost/Damage ratio why even fricking bother with the useless ones?
Watch any mage build, like a hundred sorcery spells probably but pebble and carian slicer scale ridiculously well you see them end game.
Ice crag replaces pebble because it procs frost but you do have a point. Magic is jjat never going to be implemented well into souls games short of cooldown timers and that is a headache no one really wants. Might as well just keep it accessible and purely spectacle driven then make it functional but anti fun. Besides now we have weapons masquerading as spells with smithcraft shit.
As another anon once said, the early game "bread and butter" spells are tested better because they're going to be with you the most.
It's why Pebble, Golden Discus, Lightning Spear and Black Flame all have extremely good milage compared to many big frick you spells, some of which have terrible cost to damage ratios or are impossible to get off in a fight without impeccable timing.
I put cragblade on it for very high stagger damage
Don't get this meme. Lions Claw doesnt ignore damage, just stagger. You're going to eat shit against any enemy not pancaked by it which is most bosses
Heavy armor +dragon great shield talisman made face tanking end game bosses with lions claw very easy
It stance breaks most bosses in 2-3 hits on a colossal, and the fact that you can't get interrupted means the boss's stance meter doesn't get a chance to refill.
MY BROTHER
I'm gonna make a new character STR only and call him Donovan. Any suggestions on the weapon? I'm thinking Brick hammer
I actually had a similar idea, but his name was gonna be Balrog.
have 2 of those and call yourself Bomberman
COME JOIN ME
Lion's Claw is cool but this weapon truly comes alive and becomes an ungodly implement of destruction when you stack Highland Axe/Roar Medallion/Braggart's Roar/Flame, Grant Me Strength/Golden Vow/Charge damage physick/Axe Talisman on it
The game literally forces you to do stupid shit like this by the way, as long as you treat it like wacky experimentation instead of meta chasing you can still enjoy the game
>The game literally forces you to do stupid shit like this

it literally does so and I'm going to rape you if you reply to me again with your dumb opinion

Guardian's Swordspear has the AR of nearly 700 at 55 dex. That's the damage of an UGS for a Halberd. How much more damage do you need?
My Nightrider Glaive does over 700 at 54 Strength, are halberds just goated?
mashing r1 to interrupt bosses is not honest
I like other weapons more but I like how you can just run to Caelid and get this 20 minutes into the game.
It's almost always my early game weapon.
legit question, i tried playing through early (1.0) elden ring with a str weapon (ugs) and it was garbage. like completely garbage, most people straight up told you to switch to something else
i heard they made a big balance patch (1.09?) and changed a lot of shit, mainly concerning str weapons. are str swords viable now? what changed?
STR weapons are viable but you'll be doing jumping R2s or weapon art spam 90% of the time. These will delete bosses, regular r1s are rarely worth using and regular r2s pretty much never.
Charged R2s with this thing equipped are underrated as frick. You can also use spiked cracked tear and stonebarb cracked tear and if you can poise through one attack you'll be able to stunlock everything to death.
You've never played with a colossal sword and probably never played elden ring at all.
I literally only r1 and it works. I don't even know how to jumping r2
Speaking as a Strengthbro, that's completely untrue. They all have their own timing, the same as any other weapon.
>jumping attacks
Unironically ydbtg
They made it swing slightly faster, which made a big difference in hitting those faster foes that like to hop around after they attack, and raised their guard rate to really help tank hit.
They buffed the shit out of strength weapons after release. By like 1.07 many weak strength weapons were good tier
>what changed?
At launch R1/R2 was very slow. Jumping attacks were faster, and dealt more damage than a full charge. Now jump attacks deal less and R1/2 are faster. Its that simple.
Its never been bad though, just boring. Now at least you can use attacks other than jump, attack, repeat.
Claymore will carry you until you get the Blasphemous Blade or to the end if you are good.
Does this sword work for a str and fth build? I'm running 50 str and 45 fth to maximize clawmark seal incantation damage output. Maybe infuse it with fire or fire art?
You can get the sacred blade WA at the church where you find wondrous flask super early and the only enemy that'll resist holy damage is Godrick, who isn't that hard a boss anyway. Then later through the game you can infuse with flame art or whatever you want.
Blasphemous blade or Maliketh's Black Blade are all you need
>Cragblade
>Stonebarb Tear
>Leaden Tear
No more combos
Baemore is the true honest weapon for noble STR chads.
Except it's a quality weapon.
>add lion's claw ash of war with flame art pairing to instantly improve it
sorry strength only "chads", strength/faith gods are stealing all your girls.
Don't heavy weapons in Elden Ping just fricking suck because they take too long to swing, don't do that much more damage and don't really have any increased stagger potential? It'd be one thing if it took longer to swing but you staggered the enemy but you don't.
The Longsword can use Square Off and staggerlock enemies and also swing quickly, so why even use the Greatsword?
>use greatshield
>roll anyway
cringe
What can I say? Fromshit roll-slop is a roll game. You hit the B button. It's a hit the B button kind of game. No strategy beyond simply reacting and hitting the B button. If you want strategy with your combat, play the Monster Hunter series instead.
you can beat every boss in the game without rolling
You CAN do this but the game is designed around hitting the b button. just hit the b button
but i already did that 15 times, i dont want to
In fact you can beat every boss in the game without avoiding damage at all
In NG+0 anyway
You could beat every Fromslop games with a broken straight sword +10. That doesn't mean you should.
Discord troony
NTA but even with a shield you want to roll. It's slower to attack out of blocking so you'll get input-read too often if you try. The shield is for blocking bullshit mega-delays or anime combos really.
rolling is actually the second worst defensive option in the entire game while jumping is mathematically supported by frame data and hitboxes to be objectively the best defensive option in the game
even shuffling is superior to rolling because a slight shuffle can actually dodge the majority of anime combos
>Just lose all your stamina and maybe get staggered
there are multiple ways to make it so you take little stamina damage while using shields
>complain about rolling
>in a Fromslop game
Training for the DLC. Fought the giant Star Beast near Volcano Manor and just using my Great Shield was asking to be poise breaked. You need to dodge and watch your stamina.
You're right and the replies are wrong. Had he blocked he could have countered which deals more damage than a basic R2 and also far more stagger.
Greatshield =/= blocking = pussy behavior.
the game is just poorly balanced in that regard.
STR + INT is underrated
I did a STR/INT gravity run in April and it was the easiest playthrough I've ever done.

>tfw three of my favorite Strength weapons are on that list
reminder the game will be going through another series of balance patches post-dlc, so in addition to ranking the new weapons every base game weapon will probably have to be reconsidered in their ranking.
There's a balance patch releasing WITH the DLC, too
Varre's bouquet being up there is funny as frick that thing is straight trash
I always laugh at ice rind hatchets in you beat the game tier. You literally didn't beat the game if you made this tierlist and didn't experience that hoar(e) frost stomp was the most broken shit in the entire game.
Hoarfrost stomp got nerfed ages ago.
No shit moron. Hence why they are outed as not beating the game. Whoever made this list made it post all the nerfs and buffs which made the game drastically easier.
>which made the game drastically easier.
The only thing made drastically easier were the duo fights
>radahn
The radahn nerfs were undone
Blood got massively nerfed and Rivers of Blood isn't even good anymore. Get with the times, grandpa.
No one uses scythes for bleed. Or uses them at all.
I'm not sure why, they're all pretty good.
It lacks the range of a polearm but still have the slow moveset. Slapping Double Slash or Sword Dance is kinda hilarious because you don't expect that movie on a polearm-ish weapon. Meanwhile the Halo Scythe's discs hit like fricking trucks. Sucks we never got a proper "Holy rot" weapon.
>NOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T PLAY THE GAME INTELLIGENTLY, YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO NOT WIN UNTIL YOU'VE PERFECTED YOUR ROLLSPAM
Most of the broken weapons have been severely nerfed and are now bad. Anyone who thinks Moonveil is still good hasn't played since 2022.
i am the only person in the world who uses a heavy scythe in this game. it ain't the burial blade, but it's something
I'm currently using the bottom three groups gargoyles axe is pretty good with wild strikes
Now that its buffed to shit I really want to do a spear of granasax playthrough. Its annoying how much you need to get through to get it and how high the stat requirements are though.
Don't care Eleanora's Poleblade is fun as frick.
I prefer two Giant Crushers.
Are beast claws/martial arts going to be good, do you think? As close as you have to stay to enemies, it will be risky to use them.
>boss does a 15 attack beyblade combo
>instantly starts another one afterwards
when are you suppose to attack
Margot is just a crap boss because he has a shitload of position based combo extenders that aren't intuitive to learn at all because next to no other enemy does them but then he becomes kinda trivial once you do know them.
Unironically? In the middle of attack chains. There's a reason why Margit is the tutorial boss.
>if you pay attention, there are plenty of opportunities to attack him even during his basic attack chains
>if you try to fight him like a Dark Souls 3 boss by attacking him after his "turn" is done, you get the daggers
Notice that the daggers do basically no damage, but basically function like the mechanical equivalent of touching a hot stove. Margit is one of the most aggressive bosses in the game when it comes to delayed swings, long attack chains, and follow-up attacks because he's designed to drill these lessons into the player early.
Unfortunately, most people just brute force him, learn nothing, and whine.
This. Radagon is the same, you have plenty of opportunities to hit him between his attacks.
Niall / O'Neil are also the poster children for this design decision. Elemer fits the bill as well. And the Godskins. And Loretta. And basically any human-sized enemy.
>when are you suppose to attack
You're not. You're supposed to watch.
we all beat the game using daggers and doing quick single strikes with pinpoint accuracy between combos directly at knees
>The most honest weapon in the game
lmao, there's nothing honest about how strong and simple that is to use.
You're a huge homosexual.
Dex babies stay seething
Dex has nothing to do with it. There's nothing "honest" about frickhuge stagger damage and 1-shotting most trash enemies.
Can't be that great if I can't even equip it
Used this for most of the game but when I realized just equipping another 2 hander and spamming jump attacks it kinda ruined it, doesn't feel nearly as cool.
yeah, but then again that still feels better than every other build
I don't really get why people use dual wield jumping attack spam. It's not fun, it's not interesting. The greatsword is plenty strong without having to rely on jumping attacks.
Sure but when you have a move in your moveset that just works much better than any other move, you tend to use that. I get not going for broken builds to give yourself a challenge but avoiding certain moves just feels silly.
because the boss design railroads you into playing in ways that aren't fun or interesting
Pre patch it was the most reliable way to use them as doing anything else usually made you eat shit.
Always my weapon of choice. I also like the ruins greastword for the higher damage and weapons art and the zweihander for style.
*cough*
I've done like 15 ng playthroughs and still haven't done a run with this.
I did one recently, honestly a really fun weapon.
Drake sword on crack
i hate curved swords, big and small. I don't know why but i just hate the way moveset looks and the way character looks when you do normal attacks. I know this thing is OP as shit but i can't play it
Why do people in israelitetube keep using katanas bonus if it has bleed and INT based weapons?
because im xXx_Sephiroth_xXx
What are some good early game poise weapons?
brick hammer
You can get the large club right behind the bloodhound knight jail in weeping peninsula. One of the best strength weapons in the game

Braver from FF7R.
Artorias flip
>12 Dex
Okay
>We have kirkhammer at home.
I have two of these. Do pretty good damage and stagger with jump attacks and heavies.
Everytime I play soulslop games I end up using a dagger or whip and I do literally no damage to bosses. It's weird you think a two hander that hits like a truck is "honest" in comparison.
Maybe you should use something that does damage instead.
It's slow and high commitment. With a dagger you can play like a spastic moron and still roll out of the way. There consistently not getting hit is the main priority.
>takes 2 days to fully swing when bosses have yugioh bullshit attack combos
>not honest
With a fast weapon you have to at least play the game because you need to punish EVERY boss attack and not just dodge spam and run away until the boss does THAT attack and then get a free hit in.
Is there a reason to dual wield these over great hammers? In running two heavy GS but maybe I should switch to using hammers

Who else here honest and noble? Nothing more satisfying than pulling off a fully charged Carian grandeur and deleting whatever is in front of you.

I can't bring myself to do paladin build. It feels so fricking awful at the end.
Brother, your cleansing righteous flame?
If by "almost everything in the game" you mean Maliketh, Radagon, and EB. And even for them you can just use something like the golden halberd which does so much physical damage it makes up for it
Brother, your flame art weapon? Your fire incantations?
>fire
>lightning
not real paladin
Lightning was the paladin element in Dark Souls.
At the end of the game now, beat Godfrey an hour or so ago, not that cool of a fight really. Just stomps and grab attacks, not that kino if you ask me. I just helped someone beat the Elden Beast, why the hell did they make the last boss so damn cute?
>we're still pretending STR isn't easy mode
uh yeah bro being able to infinite stagger 90% of mobs and half the bosses sure takes skill
>b-but high commitment
lol, as if jump attacks arent fast
Int players admit they have it easy. FTH players admit they have it easy. Bleed players admit they have it easy. So why oh why so STRtards refuse to just admit the build is not le hardcore and is in fact also easy?
>No THIS style is the easiest
>No THIS style is!
>Frick you!
>No frick you!
>Repeat for two decades
honestly this hasn't been a problem until dark souls 3 when the normies got involved. "git gud" used to be the worst sort of gatekeeping people did. now people make their whole identities around it lol
It's funny because none of these games are about difficulty. I blame marketing and journos harping on the difficulty alone. If I didn't know anything about soulsborne games, I'd think they were something akin to kaizo mario rage games. That's just DS2 though.
>It's funny because none of these games are about difficulty.
This is such a stupid response. Of course the games were marketed as being difficult. The Dark Souls 1 DLC is literally called "Prepare to Die".
Yeah, they were marketed as being difficult because that's all room temp IQ normies gathered from the games. They aren't ABOUT difficulty. If that were the case, there wouldn't be so many tools baked into the game that make it almost trivial.
>game can't be about difficulty unless it meets my arbitrary definition of TRUE difficulty
you sound like every other clown who tries to make this point
>cheese an exploit
>yeah family. thats how the game was meant to be played. 😀
you're an idiot.
>how the game was meant to be played
Yes precisely. The ER devs wanted you to use these tools. Why else did they put them in the game if you're so clever? What is with this weird obsession anyyway? It's a singleplayer game after all. None of this has any impact on you. Why make this your whole personality?
>It's funny because none of these games are about difficulty.
Extremely dishonest.
you'd think we could just be happy that everything finally has some way to be good after decades of useless stats and gimped weapon classes
Meanwhile, INT gays are casually sitting in the background hoping nobody notices them.
Personally I think you're right. Glintstone Pebble on [Any weapon] is the simpliest and most powerful build that anyone can abuse to stagger lock bosses.
The style that's the easiest and most skilless is whatever my opponent is using, simple as
>complains about stagger but then talk about spamming jump attacks
?
you didn't beat the game
>they got rid of being able to inflict buff status from lava pools left behind from eruption/prelates charge
why
I was going to go blackflame blade + eruption with the new fire greatsword. From seems to really fricking hate blackflame blade.
For me? The fire damage is nice.
I just wish the posture/poise bar for enemies was visible like in Sekiro. Felt like too many times I did virtually the same attack strings and it was random whether they stance broke or not. I know it's not random but it feels like it when you can't see the bar.

sorry, I'm using str/arc. enjoy your shitty buffs that get hard countered by regression tho
Counter argument:
Funny horn go doot doot
what weapon is str/arc
literally anything with good innate str scaling infused with bleed, e.g iron greatsword
marais executioner's sword
mohg's spear
bleed infused colossals proc bleed in 2-3 hits on top of still doing most of their big colossal weapon damage
>on top of still doing most of their big colossal weapon damage
They tend to beat out pure str for AR if you have blood's exultation active, which is kind of ridiculous since you're also getting that % bleed damage on top of it all. And you have the insane stance break of a colossal with the interrupt from bleed, giving you even more opportunities to hit things.
I'm at the end of my first run waiting for the DLC, level 156, and with my equipment on i have 81 INT/40 VIG
What makes it better than other colossals?
range and damage
Very high damage for a colossal SWORD.
I'm using it right now in my current fth/str build
>can buff the shit out of it

>hits incredibly hard

>CE'd 99 larval tears, 99 somber and non-somber ancient smithing stones and 600 lord runes on my DLC character before the update drops
Anything else I am forgetting?
How is dual wielding Large Clubs? I love their range and my friend can give me one to have two. However, they only get A tier scaling as opposed to other great hammer's S. Does A -> S make a huge difference in terms of damage? Or does less weight + more range make up for it?
Also, do all weapons of the same type do the same poise damage? Or do individual weapons have poise damage values?
Large club is marginally weaker compared to something like the great mace, but it makes up for by having good range for its weapon class and also being quite light. A very solid weapon.
>Also, do all weapons of the same type do the same poise damage?
Generally, yes, although weapons with unique skills might do unique amounts of poise damage with said skills.
Cool. I kind of just wanna equip two giant hammers, use braggart's roar on both of them, and just go to town like a madman. Large Club might be a good choice because the range means I'll hit more and the weight means I can wear heavier armor for trading blows with enemies.
Large club trades away a good chunk of AR for lighter weight compared to other great hammers. The scaling letters have a corresponding internal value. It's possible to have scaling that is almost indistinguishable between A and S because the value of one weapon might just be out of range to what constitutes an S scaling weapon where the other might be just over the threshold. And it's not just about the scaling but also the base AR of the weapon.
Large club has a str scaling value of 166 when heavy infused. For comparison, a great mace has a scaling value of 179 and that's considered to be in the S scaling range. The AR difference between the two is only about ~40 AR at 54 str, two handed, but the great mace also weighs 3.0 more than the club.
>Also, do all weapons of the same type do the same poise damage?
Yes, with a few rare exceptions. Troll's hammer for example does more poise damage with its jumping R2 attacks than other colossal for whatever reason.
colossal hammers are a sub category within colossal weapons, I don't know why they aren't just a totally separate class like colossal swords are
It's because colossal swords have a completely different moveset, where as colossal hammers share moves with other colossal weapons
Do you think Large Club is worth using? Or should I go with other Large Hammers?
Large club is fine, but more AR is better so if you can afford the weight, there's no reason not to use a stronger hammer. Unless you like the aesthetic or something.
>raptor claws
>Slap on bloodflame
>slap on all the the attack+ tailsmans for bleed and rapid attacks

What is the least tryhardgay metagay weapon i'm allowed to beat the game with?
A katana is the most honoraburu form of combat
The least tryhardgay metagay weapon is picking something you think looks cool you colossal homosexual.
anything if you don't use weapon arts
>Asking permission to use a wepaon
Jesus just pick something you like anon dont pay attention to the homosexuals
Non-homosexualry infused daggers
You're also getting the new throwable ones in the DLC so aim for those

Speaking of Great Spears, I've never seen anyone use the Tree Spear.
it's good, on a faith build you can buff it with order's blade for high AR
It's ugly.
REMINDER
Anyone using this weapon did not beat the DLC
Is it possible to make a decent Mohg build that uses both this spear and bloodflame incants without being level 400?
just offhand reduvia its better than all the bloodflame spells
Are we still pretending that STR isn't the easiest build in the game?
STR is the 2nd easiest build
easiest build is night spell caster
>Poke the sky
>Win
easiest run ive had
even pvp Black folk hate it
>even pvp Black folk hate it
Only if they're dumb enough to not have any ranged move
>even pvp Black folk hate it
it's a free backstab for anyone not moronic
anyone else tired of souls/elden combat?
maybe it's just me but
>never got into magic
>small weapons like daggers or fancy weapons like rapiers feel out of place fighting giants and monsters
>larger weapons are usually worse in pvp cause muh speed
>best weapons are realistic mid-sized weapons
am I just moronic? all weapons just feel so samey to me
>pvp
>small weapons like daggers or fancy weapons like rapiers feel out of place fighting giants and monsters
Speak for yourself, Reduvia's WA feels like you're tearing chunks of flesh as you cut.
>anyone else tired of souls/elden combat?
No, it's just you, discord troony
>I'm tired of this combat guys
>also I literally never use anything but the same weapons I've always used, for arbitrary reasons I conjured up
You are dumb
is there a way of making hyper-armor permanent with cheat engine? I just don't enjoy getting staggered by ANY attack and don't want to force myself to use weapons I don't want to use to get it
What's a decent faith and strength weapon, if there is any?
ordovis's greatsword
Ordovis greatsword, Siluria's tree, Staff of the Avatar, Maliketh's knotblade.
What's kind of spear should I be using if I want to be a pure spear chucker with this? Just the one with highest AR?
I just realised that you don't lose weapon arts when swapping them
Just beat the game, what a disappointing last 3 bosses. Thoroughly unimpressive
Everything from Leyndell onward is horrible.
I dropped the game 2 years ago when I got through the Haligtree, at the doorway to Malenia after fighting her a million times by myself. I hated the snowfields so fricking much i'm amazed I even pushed through the tree itself to find her. Beating everything I had leftover, these last few bosses today, and the leaks are seriously making me reconsider buying the DLC. I just want more Sekiro, especially after playing Stellar Blade a few months ago
Godfrey was an okay fight, but it was really simple - stomps and AOE, then dashing swipes/grab attacks. As a mage I just blasted the shit out of him with Comet spells, didnt even need ashes or summons. The Elden Beast was really the shit fight, just fricking kept running away and spamming homing lasers, worst parts of Skyrim in a Souls game
nintendo falseflagger
>everyone who disagrees with me is a shill!
he was pretty cool but the AOE attacks were annoying. if he had 2 or 3 more phases he could've been great but EB ruined it
Godfrey feels very undertuned for some reason. Otherwise the fight is fun.
He's got the same issue as Malenia in that outside of one or two moves, he's got nothing threatening. Plus he spends 100 years telegraphing his attacks.
fricking hated that they turned him from a dignified royalty into a murderhobo. Should've been the other way around.
Radagon is one of the best bosses in From's entire catalog
>Gideon
Interesting twist boss that you wouldn't expect unless you read between the lines. Otherwise, he's an annoying spambot. At least he gives you the whole monologue to set up and stun lock him.
>Godfrey
Fun boss with a good rhythm. Can't take him seriously after the second phase cutscene though.
>Radagon
Great boss. Cinematic, great theme and he has a fun moveset to fight against. He would be a great ending to the game if it wasn't for
>Elden beast
Oh boy, chasing a fricking amoeba across the map for 20 minutes while he spams magic at you. What the actual frick.
>Can't take him seriously after the second phase cutscene though.
I looked up his Voice Actor once and his only other claim to fame is in a sex ed video that all kids in Norway or something see in school and he won an award for it.
>I know fight as Whora Lewd
>WHORRIOR!
Radagon should've been a solo boss with multiple phases. Elden beast shouldn't exist except as maybe a secret boss after Radagon similar to Moon Presence.
Why are invadersissies so hysterical about being "ganked"?
Because poor little red phantom cuts out most build types in favor of big AOEs.
>double pike
>storm stomp
>catch rolls with pikes
>catch rolls with stomp
pvp kinda felt like a joke
Iron greatsword > Greatsword
What are some links to good builds? Im having trouble deciding for the dlc.
lv 125 should be fine to play through DLC normally right
Malenia is a shit boss and you can't convince me otherwise.
yeah, because you're honestly a homosexual if you use STR builds
>dood lookat all my poise
>just stand there and whack away
>dex gay lol look at onlyafro
>onlyafro is a crossdressing queen
quit acting like it's cool to play the easiest shit in those games. you wanna roleplay guts or whatever the frick go ahead, but you stand there and absorb all the damage and call it gameplay.
I'm a simple man. I find the biggest hammer, wear the heaviest armor, and smash the enemy.
yeah that's fine. you're not acting like a homosexual about it.
>Dexgays just abuse statuses to godly effects or gransax/silura snipe
>Faithgays just nuzzle up to the bosses wiener and drop ancient tstorm
>STRgays just war art spam into insta stagger rinse repeat
>INTgays kamehameha afk
>ARCgays exploit every possible broken thing in the game
everyone is a gay.
STR is definitely the easiest of the homosexualry tho but every build has easily natty brokenness
ohhhhh you left out my build. all stats even, what's that make me buddy haha is it a moron? haha yesssss
Honestly, that probably makes you pretty smart. You may not be able to use any broken shit efficiently, but you can easily alter your stats with equipment to fit any situation. There's at least a couple bosses that frick over every type of dedicated build, but you don't have to worry about hitting those kind of road bumps. Like the other anon said, based moron.
yep. it's fun to do it in most games, but some games certain stats are way too broken, completely worthless, or do something you definitely don't need more of past a point like add more slots for spells or something
but it is nice because you never have to think how much this how much that you just go down the list over and over putting one point in everything and get back to gaymen
>STR
>chads
IS EVERYONE IN THIS WORLD A MASSIVE homosexual EXCEPT ME, A FTH CHAD?
Hi
i've never done a faith run. i've actually done dex every time every game. nioh 1 & 2 and elden ring I put all stats equal, but ds1 2 3 all dex.
I really just don't have the time to replay these games so many times.
I've got a faith build. Lightning incants. Hoping the dlc brings new red lightning incants.
The problem with fth is that it takes too long to get going. You're stuck with dogshit fireballs until you spam black flame fireball for 50% of the game before you get anything fun.
Flame of the Fell God is fun and underrated.
>41 fth
Like I said, stuck with fireballs for 50% of the game.
you can boost faith by +20 by the time you're in liurnia
Meanwhile other builds can do whatever they want without going out of their way to even just barely be able to use their toys.
>Emptying entire FP bar for 1 attack.
Must be fun having to reset your pots every 5 minutes
you also kill the entire boss with that one fp bar so it seems fair
you can get dragon shit really early
the dragon rot breath shits on most of the game
>Stuck with dog shit fireballs
Did you forget lightning was faith?
My bad, dogshit lightning too that does less damage than 1 straight sword R1
Anon I'm not sure what you're smoking, lightning spear is incredibly strong?
>REEE I CAN'T HAVE FUN UNLESS I'M SUPER OP AND ONE-SHOTTING EVERYTHING
You just sound like a homosexual, bro.
DEX/INT is probably more your speed.
You can get cipher pata as soon as you start the game.
Catch Flame is selectable at start of game and is the best fire spell in the game.
I tried FTH DEX on my very first playthrough and got absolutely ass blasted in the later half of the game. For some reason, every boss has high faith resist from Morgot onward.
holy is completely dicked over all game. you basically have to take the lightning/madness/darkflame pill. From quite literally added a talisman that converts holy dmg to lightning. they've given up that much on it.
>80% holy at the end of the game
for me it's rivers of blood and moonveil.
Rivers of Blood is fun as frick and I'm tired of pretending it's not. I love my edgelord blade.
Anyone need a summon for Mohg? I have a level 138 character I can move over there.
I don't understand enemy damage type resistance. There's a ton of slash resistant enemies that are made of rock or something similar, makes sense. But how am I supposed to know if an enemy is strike/pierce resistant? Does the game even have any of those?
In From logic, fatty, blobby enemies are usually very strike resistant, but are usually weak to pierce, or even slash.
I think Adjudicator in Demon Souls was super Strike resistant.
In DaS II for example the Covetous Demon was infamous for being like 90% resistant to strike damage or some shit in a game where everything was weak to strike (because everything was a knight)
In Elden Ring, the same principle applies. Guess what Godskin Nobles best resistance is? Strike at 35%.
Pierce is usually the one that is hard to identify, it's usually strong against enemies that look like they'd be thick skinned enough to resist cutting but lacking the armor for strike to cave in. I think reptilians or draconic foes are usually weakest to pierce in From Games.
Faith weapon's most readily available element is holy (despite most holy damage spells being int/fai)
Holy is insanely resistant by demigods and anything born of the Erdtree. It's like going to Olympus with lightning to challenge Zeus.
It's really only strong against Albinaurics (because lol false life) and Those who live in Death (But strangely resistant by anything infected by Godwyn like Wormfaces, also Revenants for some reason).
If you're going Dex/Fai, your main options aside from holy shit are the fire whips. Your Lightning weapons scale exclusively with dex.
Fire is only resisted by a couple of hot heads like Mohg and the Giant, Lightning is resisted mainly by dragons.
it's based on reality. slice and pierce > flesh, blunt > armor
Does the game even have any of those?
The only notable bosses in the game resistant to strike are the godskins
Debating whether to go dex/ fth or str/int for the dlc and looks like most of the weapons are going to be dex so going in with the best colossal sword in the game.
>Use Sword of Milos for a quality build going into the DLC
>1 phase Mohg
how did i ever sleep on this weapon, why is it so fricking strong
That's the one that drains FP on kill, right?
yes and it has a cool roar
I'm using Godfrey's axe right now. The ash on it is great for dealing with multiple enemies swarming you.
Is it true the DLC has a pontiff sulyvahn paired fire/magic greatsword?
yes
I'm using that for sure. Hope it's early on but I saved everything after Fire Giant for the DLC weapons including Malenia.
I've seen those. They look cool.
I'm more interested in the beast claws. Sounds lame, but I loved the build in Bloodborne and will make it in this game if I can.
The beast build in BB is pretty fun, really picks up if you do early Laurence. Definitely a whole lot better than a KOSim build. The kicks they showed in the trailer looked great as well. This DLC is looking great.
There's a new weapon class called thrusting shields, apparently features a spear/sword folded in.
You want a really honest Strength weapon? Here you go. A tool of the common man, sharp and reliable. Solid AR, manageable weight, good hitboxes, a selection of slick moves that work well whether playing aggressively or defensively. Its attacks go through shields, it does a little bleed to make those long, drawn-out fights less tiresome without being ridiculously cheesy, and it even gives you a little bit of extra resistance to deathblight because deathblight is an annoying stat and this weapon aims to make your day easier, not harder. It even is compatible with several of the coolest Ashes of War in the game.
i feel like a gay using a scythe as a weapon in any game. it's so stupid and impractical.
You're an under 6 foot tall virgin.
scythes are the fedora of weapons.
You didn't deny it you short little homosexual.
>not just disconnecting
A lion doesn't concern himself with the opinions of the sheep, school shooter.
Everything you do in life is pointless because you're small. You can gymcel cope but for what? you're still under 6 foot tall. You can gain muscle but not height. Also your skin is prob brown.
Shut up, girls say I'm cute all the time, and there's nothing wrong with being brown when it's normal here.
I thought so too but somehow in this game it just clicks, and frankly we all lost the right to talk about realism the moment we chose the stat allocation where we swing metal surfboards at things. Its moveset is pure sex.
I'd only really want to use a scythe on a ghostflame/death magic build. My autism requires that everything be thematically appropriate.
That is lidderally my build.
The Inf/fai necessary to make it work mean you won't be having a good melee option to begin with.
It's why I haven't done the build. Pity there are only two thorn sorceries. Those look neat.
I tried so hard to make it work. ADR is a good spell because it bullies a lot of bosses but it's all you really have except Ghost Flame Explosion, which is funny as frick but pure Style Points as Zamor Ice Storm is way better than it.
This is if you want to go pure necromancer. I threw in some magma for a "Blasphemous" arch type, then at one point incorporated just Death and Golden Order spells for some sort of "crypt priest" style, which worked better.
To get the death aesthetic down you could always go int/dex and use a death birb weapons, while putting in bare minimum faith for Rancorcall.
Int/fai is not complete trash, Golden Order Incants can be powerful in the right hands, so are magma spells.
But ultimately for Magma, putting the bare minimum in fai and pumping int is the better rout.
You are 13 years old
lmao go bak 2 ur fields peasant
But she said I was a true lord...
>stormcaller
Yeah, you are
Get the frick out of here with your literal BLASPHEMOUS blade, heretic, you're no paladin
That which is ugly can still be noble. Each tendril on that blade was once a hero, who suffered greatly and deserves redemption. Each blow is a prayer of penance.
Feels good to be recognized. I just like the Storm ashes of war a lot. Plus if you time when you use it right, you can catch her with it and just toss her across the arena flat on her ass while she's trying to do one of her combos. It also does a great job illustrating how she can just bust out of stagger and into a kick, she's such a great boss fight.
I just like sending moon beams at greatsword gays that invade me and wait for the
>that's dishonest!!!
cope.
how many arcane weapons in the dlc bros? any arcane without bleed?
AFAIK these are all the natively ARC scaling weapons without bleed, other than that I guess you can do arcane infusion on standard weapons.
Are frenzy flame incants any good for pve? I want to do a build, but if it isn't viable I won't force it.
They have native fire buildup so they are fine in PVE, but they are all quite slow.
>Frenzied burst
Slow, long range, hits hard, can be charged
>Howl of Shabriri
Buff and debuff, more damage taken and gained, makes enemies more likely to attack you.
>Unendurable frenzy
Can be cast while walking, continuous AoE in front of you, can be continuously channeled.
>The flame of frenzy
Basically the same AoE effect as Unendurable Frenzy but cannot be channeled and you can't move while using it
>Inescapable frenzy
PvE grab
yeah madness is goat'd. i routinely use frenzied burst for its godly range in my non-madness build. i'll often weave the others in too.
not to mention you can wear that helm that buffs you when madness'd.
What helm?
black dumpling
Would you consider it cheating if I level my character to 200 but just to spread my stats to 40 across the board so I don't have to spend laval tears every time I want to try a new weapon?
There's plenty of pvp at 250. It's fun having a full arsenal.
>stuns bosses every 2nd hit so you don't have to fight them
basically cheese, actually
you need 12 dex, that's gay... STR chads use no dex at all.
I only use great and colossal weapons because it feels stupid killing giant enemies with a weapon they could use as a toothpick.
stupid to only someone who hasn't studied the blade.
>tfw using my giant hammer to beat a god until he falls down and then shoving a misericorde knife into his urethra.
Only way to play, brother. If they don't like it they should have put more points into poise. Not our problem.
Strength is all that is honest. The only thing pure.
Of all the people who have no right to say this, the author of Baki has the least right to say this out of anyone through his goddamn "voice of the author" character given how much he relies on that shit.
Anyone here use shields like actual shields for blocking instead of weapon art carrier?
From made sure that wasn't an option outside of basically the tutorial. Blocking is a surefire way to get your stamina drained fully, your poise broken, and your shit pushed in
Works on my machine.
Moonveil is the only weapon a MAN needs.
more like transveil
FWHING! FWHING! FWHING! FWHING! FWHING! FWHING! FWHING! FWHING!
GET PARRIED
GET PARRIED
GET PARRIED
this is essentially cheating
Moonveil users deserve to suffer.
>I'm gonna totally mix it up this playthrough and not use the Greatsword
>Use Zwei instead
Shikata ga nai
Why do Strength mains call each other "brother"?
You wouldn't understand.
latent homosexuality, homosexuals are deviants, deviants commit incest or fantasize about it.
Because Strength mains are real men.
>Modest
>Humble
>Reliable
What else does this understated, yet sophisticated, weapon say about its user?
Your weapon is in every thumbnail of "TRY THIS OP BUILD THAT KILLS THE BOSS IN 5 SECONDS" compilations.
60 STR, 30 FTH,
Silurias tree,
Ordovis greatsword
simple as
Boys, how viable our straight swords? I wanna go faster without going full DEX homosexualry.
Put stamp upward cut or lion's claw on one of those bad boys and it's straight up meta.
the best weapon type right behind greatswords.
most of them are great. incredible move sets.
They’re great, especially with shields.
Square-off is a top-tier ash in PvE, one of the best that isn't a brainlet ranged spam one. Incredible poise damage vs bosses, good utility against stronger mobs.
I still go dex on straight swords since I primarily one-hand them with a shield. If we get Straight Swords with 2h Poke R2(besides Short Sword), I'd use them on Heavy.
Cold/Lightning/Keen straight swords are peak.
You know i always thought the soulsborne community was always the most toxic in gaming but ive recently got into monster hunter and you frickers are downright pleasant compared to those sweaty homosexuals
He's right about you lmao
That was someone elses post, they were complaining about how the game was hard or something. I was just using it as an example but you've proven my point beautifully.
No, read the post, the dude bought Monster Hunter and is complaining that it isn't Witcher. He should have done his research and not whined that it isn't the game he wanted.
>pull out ice infused warped axe
>smack mohg until he frostbites
>switch to my bleed infused warped axe
>smack him until he starts to nihil
>go behind his ass and hold down lt for wild strikes spam
>do 500~ damage per swing plus 90 bleed build up a hit
nice "endgame boss" lmao
What C and E stand for?
Cokay and Ebad.
i can't wait until the next fromsoft game comes out so I can finally shit on ER extensively without third world hispanics calling me a shill
anyway, the DLC lore leaks are incredibly disappointing. just the gayest, most lazy subversive shit imaginable
>the next fromsoft game
Shadow Tower/King's Field spiritual successor but as an FPS with light RPG elements
Weird how every post shilling against ER has redditspacing.
weird how "redditspacing" was exactly how we used to post back in 06 if you look at the archives.
anyway, got me to respond, paco. good job
>Ranjeep changed his typing style after being called out.
You know what was better than Elden Ring? DS2. And I'm not joking.
So is there a single negative review of the DLC where the negatives are not "too hard"?
So is everyone who pvps going in at 150 or not?
Make a low level character with low weapon upgrades so you can shit on people in the early game with DLC weapons.
All you have to do is kill 2 bosses to get into the DLC.
>best move in the moveset is the crouch poke
Awkward. No, thanks.
