Been thinking of going back and doing another playthrough of Stardew. Are there any must-have mods to use? I've heard very mixed things about SV Expanded.

Harvest with Scythe is pretty useful. And if you want a drastic change to gameplay then there's MARGO, but you really need to go over the changes made in each module before you install it.
It just got an update with a few fixed. I use it but only for profesionm tweax and ponds. Other stuffs are too buggy yet

They also added a horrible false scene where Emily told me she just wants to be friends after our wonderful date. That. Didn't. HAPPEN!
Isn't Sophia part of the bad as well? From what I understand she's shilled incredibly hard and is annoying.

I haven't played SVE yet so I don't know personally. I'd probably go for Claire if I was going for one of the SVE characters. Though pink hair is kinda hot even though it's a massive red flag.
Claire is nice, she just feels disjointed from the rest of the town. After her 6th(?) heart event she begins to show up at aerobics on Tuesdays, but that's it. No interactions with other NPCs. Meanwhile Sophia regularly goes to Haley's to put on makeup and Olivia hangs out with Jodi/Caroline.
I said Claire mostly because she's an attractive redhead. That's really all it takes. I'm so into redheads that I even married Leah.
That's the other thing, I don't think what Stardew Valley needed was another dysfunctional person. We already have Shane and Jas and the mess that is everyone in the Demetrious/Robin household, do we really need another depressed girl too?
I wish she was the orange horse. That's the best one.

The larger character mods aren't great, East Scarp is nice, adds a handful of nice characters and is generally unobtrusive.
It's fun to get the tractor mod, any mod that gives you a larger than default farm, set the profit to 25%, and never use sprinklers. Changes up the gameplay.
Also look at the butchery mod, but beyond that, most misc production mods just end up being "put x crop in x crop processing box then sell."
Is there a mod that makes her age? 23 yeara and she is still a kid, this kills my immerssion.

I was honestly planning to play SV, but the amount of diversity pushes me away. I also hear there's cuckoldry somewhere? Jesus. And to top it all off, based mods are deleted from nexusmods. Is there a basednexusmods or whatever?

Reading a bit more, I see predditors complaining about anti-promiscuity mod which removes female voice lines like "I want to explore myself". This mod was deleted it seems. God, SV is so leftist it hurts.
There's also this for the cucking... Did Robin frick Lewis? Possibly...
Non Newtonian mods, Black person
Stardew Valley is one of the least "diverse" modern games released recently. There's only two black people in the game and both are realistically flawed. The game even has huge number of people with red hair while every other media property on earth is replacing redheads with god knows what. There isn't even a gay character unless you yourself try to romance someone of the same sex. Even the games "big corporations are bad" message is handled with nuance as there are real advantages of keeping Joja Mart in town and the small town shop owner is portrayed as a massive dick. To the point where most people think him getting cucked is funny and deserved.
Even one non-white or non-superstraight character is one too many for a fictional world we escape to. Flaws don't matter. If I could tolerate diversity characters, I'd stay irl.

I just noticed Clint in the background directly staring at Emily's ass. Pretty good attention to detail there, I give them credit for that.
It was pointed out in previous threads that much of the non-Ganker SDV community hates Penny, to the point there was a youtube short where some woman has her PC hit Penny with a hammer. Why do these folks hate Penny? Is it really just treeposters escaping Ganker or is it something deeper? I wish poor Penny could just catch a break.
They hate her because she's the most stereotypically "trad"

Penny is just an all around good person, the only questionable thing she does was push George's wheelchair out of the way and her heart was in the right place. It's insane that people hate her because they themselves can't live up to her standard (which is very easy to meet). Tall poppy syndrome to be sure.
