We Love Katamari
Most of my favorite games are single player games, but if I could only pick a handful of them to play for the rest of my life I would have to pick my favorite multiplayer games. I chose the last two because to me, they perfectly nail the kind of beauty and fun that can only really be found in video games.
If we're allowed mods then probably
Minecraft
TWW3 (with all DLC so it's basically 1&2 as well)
TF2
Deep Rock Galactic OCA/Xianxia Corruption of Champions
These are games I like a lot but they're also games that have almost a ton of replayability. I'd probably go insane after just a few years of not being able to play some of my other favorites and anhero though. Five is insanely limiting, I could probably make due with like 25 though.
>Self-imposed Hardmode: no online or multi-player games
But that's easy mode. Hard mode is picking only multiplayer games with no idea when they'll get shut down or otherwise die from a lack of players.
>World of Warcraft (+classic private server and sql files for safety) >Wurm Unlimited (self-hosted) >Path of Exile (that shit will go on forever don't even fret) >any current Counter-Strike (guaranteed 10-20 years, not to mention noSteam possibilities for self-host) >any other game where you can host
As a norm yes. But, personally, almost every single Saturday night to Sunday morning, me and deboys host a grognard lan-party to play Age 2, Age Mythology, CS 1.6, Quake 3, etc.
Frick I'm actually jealous. Used to do lanparties with high school friends back in the day but we've all dispersed since then.

There is a valley between 20 and 30 years-old where people stop momentarily enjoying themselves because money.
I used to do a lot of gaming in my early 20s. O had to stop until around now that I'm 30 years-old. Income good, housing sturdy, family stable, childs relatively grown-up.
I can start doing things i like again.

You still need to plant a tree for 100% tutorial completion.

I take care of some common plants for cooking out the back. Don't know if that counts.
I am planning on planting a mango tree in the yard. They provide so much cover it's unreal.

Final Fantasy 15
Baldur's Gate 3 (actual full release)
Mass Effect Legendary Collection ( frick you it counts as one)
Skyrim with mods, especially porn ones
assuming I'm not the only person that gets to pick 5 games, I would go with a balance between what I find fun and what has chances to have been picked by a healthy amount of players
this will let me pick if I want to group up or play alone at any time
League of Legends
Final Fantasy 14

-Path of exile [even in its current kinda shitty state it's still good.]
-Orange box. [Portal doesn't have replayability much to me, but I love half life 2, and tf2 jump maps are kino]
-Elden ring. I thought about monster hunter, but I'd get more mileage out of Elden.
-The original xcom - either that or starsector.
-Animal Crossing new horizons. [Heck is this really the game I thought of?]
If I did get mods, fallout 4 makes the list, maybe skyrim, maybe terrains.
With human interaction probably Age of Empires 2 DE.

>Self-imposed Hardmode: no online or multi-player games
But that's easy mode. Hard mode is picking only multiplayer games with no idea when they'll get shut down or otherwise die from a lack of players.
You're right. Hadn't thought of that.
You replied to me with good arguments, but:
>World of Warcraft (+classic private server and sql files for safety)
>Wurm Unlimited (self-hosted)
>Path of Exile (that shit will go on forever don't even fret)
>any current Counter-Strike (guaranteed 10-20 years, not to mention noSteam possibilities for self-host)
>any other game where you can host
Online doesn't mean server-dependent
True, but that is hard mode for most people nowadays.
Dedicated servers and self-hosting as a norm died 15 years ago.
As a norm yes. But, personally, almost every single Saturday night to Sunday morning, me and deboys host a grognard lan-party to play Age 2, Age Mythology, CS 1.6, Quake 3, etc.
You just need to convince some frens.
