>the magic
Yeah but putting it in more realistic terms, Mario is all about that feeling of parkour + adventure game, Kirby only has the adventure in its favor and it makes up for it with content and minigame-like gameplay, they're not only different brands of the same genre, they're almost a different thing altogether. I'd say it can absolutely sell if only because its genre is pretty barren in competition and just the idea of trying out a lot of already familiar abilities in a new perspective seems worth it, only someone as moronic as the Balan dev team could make a high profile 3D platformer sell like shit and Kirby has a similar idea going for it with abilities as gameplay so if it's a decent game it could be interesting to compare what makes a casual modern platformer work.
It's a collectathon without good platforming, aka a glorified grocery list of list to collect without having fun while doing so.
People will defend this by calling it "comfy", aka you need to turn off your brain to enjoy this because the gameplay is bland as frick.
You can have a collectathon without good platforming. Toejam & Earl 3 was really fun (once you got past the cringey rap elements) and it instead relied more on big open sandboxy levels that had a ton of novelty in their layouts and could be dicked around with thanks to all the different gadgets/presents you could bring in with you. Kirby and his copy abilities could easily do the same, but this actually just seems like it's 3D World than an open collectathon affair
I've only played the demo for the last Kirby game and thought it was pretty shit so I'm glad they took a different direction direction with this one. Looks definitely much better.
could be good, but it also looks piss-easy; those fox enemies for example seem impossible to get hit by, at least going by the trailer
I'd imagine it'll just be a 'comfy' exploration game
Kirby just looks boring by default
The designs are cute and all, you have to lack a soul to dislike Dedede, but they look like baby's first platformer
Never stopped liking Air Ride though
It looks like the game aims to emulate the gameplay and gameplay principles of classic 2D Kirby, but implemented in a 3D space and the rules of a 3D environment. Which adds a little bit more exploration to the mix.
But otherwise I think the overall gameplay will be very classic in its design. Just in a new way.
And by that I mean it won't be more of a platformer than the classic games. Just like the classic games weren't Mario, this won't be either.
kirby is always easy, the fun always comes from copy abilities just feeling good to use
can't really judge how this one will be without playing it first hand, since it's not obvious how the movesets will function
could end up being really nice or hot ass, either way I'll probably buy it just bc I have all the others
it's fascinating how you are more interested in how people feel about videogames rather than being interested in videogames themselves
soon you will become a hollow husk incapable of playing a single videogames for more than 5 minutes, and will be forced to watch longplays of them just to be able to join online discussions
It’s very low effort. Look how shitty the art style is compared to every other mainline game on the switch, and the abilities and combat are literally generic 2D kirby in a 3D space. I want it to be good because I like kirby and especially the spin-offs, but it looks like it will be average at best.
I was worried they were going to take away Kirby's core gimmick because they didn't show him use any powers or inhale until the trailer was halfway over. Has Kirby ever been in full 3D? I think my last game was Amazing Mirror so it's been awhile and while Kirby 64 was 3D, my memory says it was still a sidescroller instead of full 3D. Also, how many times has the power mixing gimmick been used? Because I fricking loved that in 64 and would like to see it return.
There's only been one other time the power mixing gimmick was used and it's pretty deemphasized in comparison. Instead of mixing two powers it's more like you mix weapon-based abilities and element based abilities to get stuff like a wind cutter or a electro bomb which is fun in its own way since the base abilities are much more dynamic than they are in 64 but less visually interesting and creative.
I'll wait and see
I'm not sure how much full 3d movement will shake up the series
it still looks like Kirby. You're still walking down a path with some occasional enemies and bricks
and I do like Kirby, but I hope they take more advantage of a larger, 3d space
I really don't like the setting. A shame, since this deserved going full vanilla with the locale more than Star Allies did, what with it going full 3D and all.
Yeah, i feel like the 3D doesn't do anything to the level design so far, i expected more verticality or a more sandboxy feel, but for now we should just wait for more information.
it's mario 3d world without the magic
>the magic

Here's one thing it's absolutely going to get right: jump and ability usage buttons are separate from each other.
>Take the Mario engine
>Take the leftover concept art from Splatoon
>Quickly put them together
>Add Kirby
>Free money
Looks cute, that's enough for me
It's a post apocalyptic world overgrown by cute creatures if you don't find that charming get therapy
Isn't Splatoon already doing that gimmick? Whatever.
Nah Splatoon has cute and funny creatures
you are ALONE and will die ALONE just like your childhood DREAMS.
kirby always sucks
It's Kirby of course it's boring.
I riked it

I imagine this is you.
The real nightmare in dream land
Its not always about giga Serious (Sam lol) Gameplay sometimes playing chill games is really great

Wow anon I didn't know you had a copy of the game already
>Big fan of 3D platformers
grow up

Who would've known
Kirby just looks boring by default

My impression is that it will be an extremely easy game, but all Kirbys are like that. It will probably be a big playground for kids to enjoy.

Mario 64 but with Kirby gameplay.
>Exist
>Ganker hates it and is contrarian about it's existence in every form possible
this, you can't discuss games on Ganker because they shit on everything no mater what

Reskin of Crystal Shards, pass
Actual moron
I wish. Nothing like crystal shards
Anyone else see games like this and cringe knowing grown men are excited for it?
no, im not obsessed with other men
Does it help to know that Youtubers only fake their excitement for views?

>30 FPS

Isn't it weird how it's rated E10+? Is that something that happened with previous Kirby games?
return to dreamland and star allies were also e10
Thanks for the info. I suspected this was more unusual than it actually is, then.
It's probably the starting areas. Also, what Kirby game advertises itself with ballbusting stages?
>rehash Mario 3D World
>put Kirby in it
>charge $60
So, it's literally ok when Nintendo does it?

this is the first full 3d kirby game, and the power mixing was only on 64, something similar was in star allies but it was not the same
Kirby 64 was 2.5D. The closest Kirby has had to 3D before this was a Minigame in Robobot that got expanded into a Spinoff.
There's only been one other time the power mixing gimmick was used and it's pretty deemphasized in comparison. >take kirby
>put him in a generic, ugly city setting that looks like it could be from any game
why limit themselves like this?
Damn this looks good
This looks like a good game for my four your old son. If you are older than 15 you should be playing eroge or dodonpachi not kirby.
I'll wait and see
I'm not sure how much full 3d movement will shake up the series

this is the first level of a kirby game.
its not gonna be some rollercoaster.

Antother game for 8 year olds? We fricking won bros
