I haven't played Rogue, but Unity was definitely showing bits of it, and Syndicate was the game that changed the classic stupid disclaimer into an even more moronic one. The ridiculous turnaround time fricked Unity really badly, though, it's downright miserable to play. Syndicate's questionable decisions are at least deliberate (not that I mind the zipline as a one-game thing).
I still actually like Syndicate, though. Unity had a solid foundation, but actually playing it made me want to kill myself.
