If blizzard would have gone ahead and organised Blizzcon '24, they should have considered selling pocket turds. Because with nothing new to talk about, people would start throwing shit at them.
It would probably be a profitable venture for them still. I believe the ticket prices are max milking scam prices and they still have plenty of con goers. But someone in marketing probably decided the PR hit wasn't worth it.
Last Blizzcon was a scam. The opening ceremony was only on one stage and they raffled tickets, so even if you paid to go most people still had to watch the entire opening ceremony on a screen. Plus they got rid of most of the community panels like cosplay contest and Q&A, so people literally paid $600 or whatever to watch commercials on a screen.
Because scalpers were unable to sell their tickets even after nearly cutting the price in half. And that was for a Blizzcon that actually had a WoW expansion lined up.
I left some of my dick milk to feed my son in the fridge at Blizzard office and when i went back to get it someone had stolen it. There's some employee out there with my milk and i want it back darn it!

it's really easy to get. Overwatch 2 failing forced them to release info as they come instead of building a proper hyped convention reveal asthey used to do. D4 failed and they know the upcomming paid expansion is disapointing and unworthy of a public release. Warcraft and hearstone kinda survive but don't drag public attention anymore.
They might have put too much efforts in that now cancelled game they had.
hearthstone still has a small dedicated whalebase, so its in no danger of being cancelled. and up until recently i'd even have said it treated the warcraft franchise with more respect
