Warband/Bannerlord is too dull without mods because it boils down to starting off with you buying a horse and a two hander to stay alive and cheese 100% of all early battles, or staying on foot and having a full crossbowman army.
Either way by the end of it all you'll be a horse archer/polearm/twohander with an army of horse archers/polearms with some useless infantry to fill in the gaps
This is why I liked the Warhammer mod because everything is OP. I can genuinely use a two hander on foot and slice through a mount charge and be alright.
the warhammer mod was slow as shit for me and i could never get my party going because the early quest rewards weren't scaled correctly. i would lose money doing the basic starting errands while trying to avoid getting raped by every party on the map
Downloading now, btw I just ordered by newest mod on moddb and found this other weird conceptual mod
https://www.moddb.com/mods/warlords-of-azhrann
Maybe I'll try that next.
be warned though, never underestimate your enemy no matter the numbers
elite and upgraded units are nearly invulnerable to damage and can slaugther a hundred basic soldiers per second

all high end units are over-the-top in some way, you have jedi ninjas with lightsabers that slice through armies like butter and move at the speed or sound, slow but highly armored heavy gunners, riders armed with mind control devices, soldiers with massive shields and brenades, etc

Can the main character become this overpowered, realistically?
Anonymous
yes. last time i played i had a full auto shotgun that could kill armies from across the map and i wore super cyborg armor with really high stats and rarely took damage
2 years ago
Anonymous
yes and even more
you have access to unique abilities too (needs cheats to be enabled because they rely on the slow motion cheat to work)
mutations can give you massive amount of stats, but that relies on time, mutation skill and level of mutagen in the air, so you can't abuse it
crafting also gives you access to busted equipment not found anywhere else
some unique starts also come with special or unique features, like the lich being able to raise enemies and prisoners as undeads, at the cost of doomsday clicks which speed up the end of the world

So what level of statbloat are we looking at here, I thought Pendor used to be the king with its level 40ish elite knights, then I saw some of the elite lord units from Perisno and I can only imagine the gap that developed since I haven't played between then and now.
did bannerlord ever make auto-resolve worth a damn, or do I still have to open up the fight and AFK for 15 minutes while my army slaughters everything?
autoresolve is never worth it in any game like this if youre actually good. It kind of cant be, because if its too good youll just use it instead, but if its too bad youll just fight every battle. Theres no sweet spot because every players skill level will be different.
I think pendor is awesome and really well done for the most part, but the difficulty spike in the endgame is made for the same autists who like the Final Fantasy X endgame grind, it’s really fricked
Pendor easily, aside from the random bandit mooks having high tier knights making early game hell, its great. Aesthetically on point and has great late game custom units and random 1000+ death balls walking around.
>Pendor easily, aside from the random bandit mooks having high tier knights making early game hell,
You can't really understate this issue though, Pendor early game is extremely moronic
i cheese it with the broken Ranged units >go with the start that gives me 7 leadership right away >start in Ravenstern territory, get 10-30 recruits depending on my current money >train them using the Training field >the third to last upgrade of their archer tree is enough to kill mosts Bearclaw barbs partys without taking damage if you camp at the border of the map or on top of a hill >use double shield and a sturdy horse and make the enemy turn their backs to my archers (thankfully the AI has preference to target you so this part is easy, not dying gets harder as more ranged units come your way) >repeat until i have enough money to upgrade to max tier >get all companions and give them ranged weapons, stick them in front of my archers as bait >move to vaersky raiders territory and farm them for the rest of the game
Pendor is not diffcult, its all about grinding, wich makes it more of a chore than anything else
>Start in the dessert
Fight horse archers with improved ai >Start near the sea
Fight huskarls with homing axes >Start in the snowy area
Fight barbarians with 50 strength using two handers one shoting units even heavy armor >Start in bootleg Rome
Snake cults and heretics >Start in not swadia
Forest bandits led by edgy robin hood
>Deserter army of Nord veterans appears near Tihr >it's 100+ units strong >I'm in a civil war with the Nords; most of the fighting is in former Vaegir territory >lord of Tihr defects to the Swadians mid war >Tihr gets completely ignored by me and the Nords >finally conquer Sargoth and unite the Nords >head over to Tihr to see what the situation is >Deserter army is now 2000 units big and growing
I absolute love things like this. Warband is so good for self generating stories.
The major problem I have with Warband is the bandit parties keep getting bigger and bigger, and if I don't visit, for example Rivacheg in one week the coast is filled with Sea Raiders. They become even bigger than most war parties. Also their base is flooded. How do I do bandit control? Is there a mod/flag to decrease their growth?
The voice acting of warband is so masculine it makes bannerlord look pathetic
just listen to those Chads Roaring like lions a they charge into Swadian cavalry
I haven't touched bannerlord yet, but I remember hearing that they were gonna buff 2 handed weapons so that you could cleave through multiple people at the same time. How is that? I want to do a guts-like character and say frick shields (or at least only wear a shield while I'm on horseback and approaching enemies)
>fricking cringe.
It's still something as high as 30%
did bannerlord ever make auto-resolve worth a damn, or do I still have to open up the fight and AFK for 15 minutes while my army slaughters everything?
Autoresolve saw a lot of changes and it's good for non siege fights now. Siege is very fricking stupid though, 20 man garrison will still murder 300 out of a 500 man army.
The problem is the tactics skill is supposed to be about buffing the frick out of autoresolve stuff and it has actual good parts you can abuse BUT you can only fricking level it by auto-resolving crap that you should never autoresolve or running away from fights.
It's moronic.

It was really silly of them to introduce blacksmithing and not alternate activities for your party that uses the same stamina bar.
has anyone ever encountered a small brigand group with a fricking lord as a prisoner before? >see a group of brigands running around >lol 12+1 >ignore them >keep seeing them roaming around >decide to check them out >they have Count Reland as a prisoner >leave them alone

but thus far I've always given up or gotten distracted with other games.
I guess my first step would be to play on normal since difficulty influences the final score no?
guess you could speedrun it if you play on the highest difficulty but that's a cut above my paygrade at this moment.
I actually wish they'd slow down the Bannerlord patches a bit, consolidate them into less but bigger ones. It's almost impossible to mod now because everything just breaks every other week.

What mod is best for going as two-handed on foot? I’ve tried in several mods and it seems pretty shit in all of them, I know it’s a moronic strategy but it looks cool
I can kill 36 soldiers myself

chivalry out the window i see

why is every single map different
>Range kites you on horse
Nothing personal. Now hand over your best prisoners
>get 60 swadian cav
>easily able to frick up most armies on the map except on a siege
I always found that funny, the raiders Keep thier mounts while the army helping the village does not lol.
If you have knights thier hitpoints are doubled by the horse pretty much.
I hope he has good prisoners. They make good recruitment sometimes.
it's great when they're also at war with a 3rd party and you end up with an army of almost exclusivley the 3rd party's kingdom soldiers as a result.

boohoo

I've been checking moddb bannerlord mods daily since it was announced and so many of them are looking amazing.
It's a shame they'll never release.

are there any conversion mods for Bannerlord yet that restore full plate armor era aesthetic
I hate the fricking look of the armor in vanilla
You can literally solo that stack with just a horse and lance.
what are some mods that allow you to create your own custom troops? I only know of the custom knight order from PoP

Any mod which adds freelancer into their bundle allows for custom troops.
i thought all freelancer did was allow you to join a lord's army as a soldier?
Ok but what about WF&S?
Only thing I remember from that was the grenades and using them to troll the shit out of everyone in multi until they where banned.
