Believe me when I say that normal is not the baseline for any fricking game, like, who the frick plays Terraria in normal? Expert mode is the lowest you should play to actually enjoy what Terraria has to offer, this game is no different, if you want to actually experience the enemy move sets then play on hard.

Every boss has new mechanics, for example the first boss shoots a horizontal water laser that will one shot you so you have to get behind the adds it spawns and keep them alive so you can use them as cover. It's fun but very punishing. For the first two bosses even a single hit will almost kill you.
It improves difficulty in a good way, for example the bone throwing enemy won't just throw 1 bone it will throw 3, and you will see it appear in an earlier area than usual, small but significant changes like that are made for most of the enemies, and the enemy placement is altered for harder encounters too (and better shard grinding spots), bosses also get new attacks, you will find that the hard way because the first boss has a very nasty ass attack it only does on hard or higher and is noticeably bullshit to evade.

Its basic b***h metroidvania formula with female protag. Order of ecclesia is better for that. Lets say you yourself made a loosely castlevania themed metroidvania, this is exactly how it would turn out. It doesn't deserve the praise it gets.
It's bloody awful. The level design and gameplay Is as uninspired and generic as can be.
There's forced "story" bits that are painfully written, and the art direction is absolutely terrible - so bad that it's sometimes difficult to even tell what's a platform you can jump on, and what's just a piece of shit part of the backgrounds.
Also there's an area where all the redditers who kickstarted the game have their portraits on the walls and they're all making the onions face.

It's alright. I'm not that keen on Metroidvanias, but it was fun enough to play. Miriam a cute, but I hated a lot of the visuals in the game for their use of 3D, but it's feasible. Something like 20h of gameplay, worth on a sale.
