But seriously, this is a joke right? They're not *actually* bringing back one of the worst controllers ever made and charging $59.99 for it right? A controller whose analog stick breaks after 3 minutes, no less

Do you really think they wouldn't improve the stick at all this time around?
It's modern Nintendo we're talking about. Of course not.
I can see them not and saying it was for "authenticity" and not replacing broken ones
N64 sticks were unironically better quality than the shit being made today
>$59.99
I thought it was $49.99.
Mine never broke and I still have the controllers and the system to this day. What the hell were you doing to them?
Not breaking per se, but N64 analog sticks are notorious for getting "floppy" after a while, due to how they were fabricated.
Children with mario party 1 were the ones to wear out the stick the fastest.
It's because the analog stick was designed with plastic-on-plastic parts, meaning the plastic grinds on eachother, which over time literally wears the plastic down to a dust, and loses all tension, thus you get the "floppy" stick.
I guarantee all of your sticks are limp and you never noticed, unlike mine which is stiff and doesn't jiggle.
>What the hell were you doing to them?
Oh I don't know, rotating the stick a million times because every N64 game had at least one action like that.
Controllers are expensive in 2021 because production costs are high and this is a low volume product. Literally 0 issue with it and I'm thankful I'll finally have a proper N64 controller to use in (PC) emulators
I played the frick out of Mario Party 1 and all my controllers have functioning control sticks.
The analog stick being faulty faster than other controllers is exactly a good reason to bring it back so we can ditch the busted ones. Doesn't help most reproductions are fricking garbage at recreating them accurately. Playing with Gamecube or Xbox controllers are barely good alternatives too for how different the button schemes are, it always feels fricking awkward and their analog sticks don't have the same sensitivity.
What the frick you people do with the controllers? I was a literal nintentoddler in N64 days and same controller works today.
>A controller whose analog stick breaks after 3 minutes, no less
My N64 controllers all still work, bro. Maybe not be an spergy homosexual.
I have 4 original controllers. The analogue sticks are fine, and always were. You can’t tell a difference between my grey favourite and the completely unused red controller. Or, at least nearly unused.
They were always great controllers. I can only imagine that this idea of the m64 controller having a weak stick is down to morons making up their opinion after playing Waveracer on some demo machine that has been literally chewed up by thousands of moronic children like you.
I own the machine, and I can tell you, it really is one of the best of all time.
The graphics were great for the time.
The controllers are superb, and definitely shows where Sony took their inspiration from. The games are out of this world, I don’t believe any single console has as games as well received as the n64.
Ocarina of time - literally the best game in the world. No other game has gotten as high a score across the board, not even over 20 years later. Majorca mask, super mario 64, banjo kazooie, mario kart 64, goldeneye, all of these games were kings of their respective genre at one point, and half of them are STILL considered the best, if not some of the best, of their respective genres, still, over 20 years later.
Finally, unlike the later consoles, the N64 has instant load sequences. Back in the day, they threw the games on the equivalent of an SSD today. In the 90s. 0 load times, instant gameplay.
Anyone that hates on the n64 was clearly just too poor to get one, and salty that they never did. The ps1 was alright, but not nearly as good as the n64. The Sega Genesis and Saturn were complete fricking fumbles. Like watching an entire company trip over its own shoelaces. Hilarious, in a way, but sometimes I wish Sonic would’ve been bought by Sony or Nintendo. It definitely wouldn’t have hurt the little blue guy to have a decent machine, and some developers that weren’t complete nutcases to work on it.
>that's a nice controller you have there
>shame if something were to happen to the stick
kek. the OG "Gamer Mark". You knew someone was playing Mario Party if they had those blisters
>oh cool mario party seems like fu-
>oh sweet jesus oh god help me frick
i miss old Ganker
i am chris chan son of god
