Dark Souls 2 was their first really shit game then armored core 7 and now this.
that was dark souls 2.
and dark souls 3
and elden ring
Yes and no.
Basically they went full BoTW. The journey is cool but the rewards suck ass.
Enjoy finding nothing but upgrade materials and cookbooks.
Gaming journalists loved it. Sounds like you just don't play enough hardcore video games to handle the difficulty to be honest.
>Gaming journalists loved it
bunch of homosexuals who never complete the games/DLCs they've been tasked with reviewing. why would anyone trust them?
>gaming journalist
first? it's been a fumble since Dark Souls.
review copy gave them a different game, and they understood if they said the dlc was shit (as it is) that the rabid moron fanbase would eat them alive
>people who are paid to give good reviews gave it good reviews
I knew it was a bad sign when every review focused on how "big and pretty" it was and barely talked about the gameplay
I haven't felt this disappointed in a From release since DS2, genuinely. Not quite as bad but dangerously, dangerously close. I hope they abandon Elden Ring and all open world design entirely after this, Sekiro and AC6 directions have better futures.
get gud
It’s not what i expected. I expected a dream journey to find Miquella(a Griffith copy) and save Godywn with an eclipse. Not really this idk.
>is this from's first fumble?
>What is shadow tower
>What is Evergrace
>What is vanilla AC4
>oh yeah btw the final boss has nothing to with the lore
I don't like the skibidi mechanic and the focus on rolling
>rolling
This is getting old.
Parry is in.
This doesn't look very fun
When did from start hating shields?
Shield works maximum well with guard break, what are you talking about?
Ongbal just challenges himself.
How?
I mean putting in a flask that works better than all the shields do.
The flask enhances the guards, which shields also help.
AC6 was full on kino, you clown.
>game that was designed to be as bland, boring, and corporate as possible was kino
Next you'll say CoD is peak gaming or some shit
>How?
Well it feels a bit unbalanced how many attacks the boss can do compared to how little the player can. The windows to land a hit seem extremely short. Also the boss looks quite tanky in terms of HP, which is bizarre considering that it's a fast dual sword wielding knight/mage hybrid type of boss. It also seems to have some pretty long strings and fast movement and reach thanks to that second phase that alows it to deal explosions and shoot projectiles. I don't know, I don't think it's the kind of fight I would enjoy.
You can guard and interrupt their combo with guard counter.
It is kinda like Sekiro.
>You can guard and interrupt their combo with guard counter.
Yeah at the end of the string or else you get punished
>It is kinda like Sekiro.
I fail to see the similarity considering how balanced the back and forth in sekiro is.
>Yeah at the end of the string or else you get punished
Is it, looks like Rellena gets punished nearly every move in that vid.
>I fail to see the similarity considering how balanced the back and forth in sekiro is.
In the way that guard counter makes the fight easy.
That's not Armored Core 6.
>Is it, looks like Rellena gets punished nearly every move in that vid.
No it's clearly done at the end of a string because if another attack comes after your guard counter, you're eating it. And it's only even use ofr the first phase, the guy clearly changes weapons once the boss starts with the magic swords.
>In the way that guard counter makes the fight easy.
I still don't understand why this guard counter has anything to do with sekiro, in that game you can engage the enemy and decide to be aggressive towards them which leads to various ways of dealing damage by forcing them into a situation. In this video despite the guard counter, the rythm is still dictated by the boss only and is grossly in its favor.

ONGBAL clearly doesn't wait for the string to finish then.

That doesn't seem so to me, it's clearly a rthym where boss attacks and gets guarfd countered and punished again and again, and then you can attack on top of it.
In Sekiro, attack is only a meant to provoke while here attack can deal hefty damage as well.
>kino glands not activating
skill issue
Was this... Supposed to do something? A half fogged outline of the most generic structures possible? Christ I AM glad I waited to buy this.
guess you lack an eye for art. btw this isn't how the are usually looks. it was a combination of sunset and fog that created this appearance
>the are
the area*
see that tower?
you can't go there
>exact same hole on the exact same side on the same tower
>same brick patters in each arch as well
you think they would at least try
Wasn't really hyped for this from the get go because of the setting. Is it really just fricking brown/gold grass fields just like limgrave? Any cool detours? Wish they made the shit's setting cosmic shit/more underground cities.
This is literally more underground shit.
The map is stacked on each other.
under fabric
I wish it was just a big castle like castlevania
I had the opposite experience I have to keep myself from yelling kino out loud and with milady + deflecting heardtear I can play significantly more aggressively than the base game. It really shouldn't be a flask crystal that only lasts a few min but that's my only complaint so far
What does it look like in motion?
See
It's just an enhanced guard (essentially 100% defence and almost no stamina usage) on a perfect block. There's no animation or anything. It's EXTREMELY helpful against some bosses though.
Does it do the *CLING* CLING* CLING* CLANG* like in sekiro?
Maximum kino.
Imagine the mod.
Does this work when guarding with a weapon rather than a shield?
Yes.
Frick me, I wish I found this earlier. I already got as far as Messemer. Feels like I have nothing left to use this on.
It just a guard counter but you don't take damage.
It must be the HRT OP
Have you tried committing suicide?
I've heard from qualified sources it will make you a real woman.
>is this from's first fumble?
>DS3 DLC
>DS2
>Ninja Blade
>Shadow Tower and many other games before Demon's Souls
>>kino glands
>Google search image
eat shit
>gay man literally rapes you to death
what did fromsoft mean by this?
here's your "reward" for exploration
esl turdworlder thread
AC6 being so mid should have been a warning sign
>kino glands not activating
HRT treatment usually results in shriveled kino glands, im afraid
Player the DLC and got bored of it.
Not because of the "too hard boss fights", but I'm not getting excited for yet another dragon fight and yet another giant fire brazier.
Aside of that, the items I found after exploring is so useless it's really deactivating my braincells.
where ARE the kino glands in the body located?
Been a huge Souls fan since the beginning and the first time I tried ER I put it down after Stormveil Castle. Was just perpetually bored since the minute I started the game and feel completely burned out on open world games. I guessed right from the beginning that most exploration was a waste of time because of how items work in Souls games, and unfortunately proved myself right.
Pirated the DLC last night and was excited to give the game another shot, and this time I can barely make it through Limgrave before losing interest. Dunno, maybe I'm just burned out on open world games, but I feel like the Souls formula with literally zero innovation is starting to wear thin. The combat is just awful and simplistic and I feel like I'm just running around aimlessly.
Really disappointed that I can't enjoy the game. No idea how so many people gave it a 10/10. I feel like you all either don't play open world games or don't play Souls games. Just can't understand how someone who has played every other game in the series, and hasn't been living under a rock for the past decade and seen every franchise get turned open world, isn't shaking their head at this one.
The combat is as awful and simplistic as you play it, see here
It's literally Sekiro now in term of interactivity.
I mean, he's spamming one attack man. Obviously it requires skill but that's the definition of simplistic combat. It's basically a rhythm game
He's definitely not spamming, it requires timing, unless you mean Sekiro and Ninja Gaiden are spamming.
As in, using the same attack repeatedly. No shit it requires timing. Any plan to actually argue in good faith here? Did you play Lies of P? Hard to really defend the combat in Elden Ring at this point since they have put literally zero effort into it since DaS (and it wasn't good in DaS either).
Lies of P is the same, you parry and you attack, using R1 too.
It gets even easier since that's ALL you need to do, just parry and attack.
I'm not sure if I get your point.
pretty sure he was referring to actually playing the game, not a cherry picked boss fight in NG+. are you moronic or what anon
still more button inputs than mr. r2 up there btw
Hmm, this seems suspicious, there's less actual variation in that Lies of P vid compared to Elden Ring DLC fight.
>Just can't understand how someone who has played every other game in the series, and hasn't been living under a rock for the past decade and seen every franchise get turned open world, isn't shaking their head at this one.
Fromdrones literally think that miyazaki cant do nothing wrong and worship him like some deity. I used to be huge from fan just like you anon but they have lost the plot. but this whole elden ring scenario opened my eyes to how cult like is fromsoft fanbase actually is.
You have game like skyrim which have huge devoted fanbase but even most die hard fans can point out lots of flaws within their game which despite they still like it very much.
Boring and tedious. If they're going to make bosses that relentlessly attack you for 40 seconds straight they need to give you something else besides rollslop. Compare this to Sekiro or Lies of P or Nioh 2 and it's slop. Those games all allow you to interact with the hyperaggressive bosses outside of rollslopping for 40 seconds.
I thought the base game of Elden Ring was a 10/10 game, but the DLC is like a 4/10 at best. The game is fun when you're exploring and fighting medium difficulty bosses, but the massive empty DLC and rollslop bosses that are trying to emulate malenia everytime is not fun.
Why are you rolling when guard counter breaks these bosses?
See
Do you just want to roll, or?
>If they're going to make bosses that relentlessly attack you for 40 seconds straight they need to give you something else besides rollslop.
They did
>backhand blade AoW
>deflecting heardtear
>bloodhound step
>just throwing on a frickhuge shield and using barricade shield
You should try playing the game first before complaining the DLC unironically fixed my complaints about the base game being rollslop. I only just beat messmer and hear the last boss is fricked but even so the gameplay has been better overall
Dark Souls 2
Dark Souls 3
But specially Elden ring, were FromSoft biggest failures
No that was DS2, followed by Elden Ring and now this
