it isnt the church that is good. the church is run by flawed humans who are as far away from god and christ as they rest of us are. its god who is good, god and jesus.
yeah and im an atheist. these fricking trad larpers dont know shit about this fad they've jumped onto. try being raised in the bible belt if you want to understand christianity.
I hope when they release the final free DLC this December that they improve the inventory and relics system so you can spend less times in the menus. It'd be nice if you can just toggle the relics on/off so you can have all of them activated at once and only turn them off when you need to, instead of constantly swapping them in and out.
>Grievous miracle responds to a guy's request to suffer as an act of penitence >Suddenly, everyone idolizes him and thinks suffering is good and it makes you pious, so suffering good >People suffer for the sake of suffering, not actually out of piety or penitence, just to make a show of it >This makes the church powerful because it basically sells suffering >Grievous Miracle doesn't make people stop suffering because they don't get it. >The Penitent one does true penitence by taking on a shitload of suffering as a burden and does so in anonymity and in complete silence >This makes the church upset and tries to kill the penitent one >Penitent One destroys the church during his quest >Grievous Miracle goes "ah, this hombre understands it, let's stop this age of suffering"
Well, The church tried to have the entire Brother of The Silent Sorrow killed and technically succeeded. Except The Miracle brought one of them back, the Penitent One we play as. Now suppose the church never tried to have them killed, would The Brotherhood eventually have succeeded as a group? Who knows.
1. equip the white prayer bead (the one that lets you keep your tears when you die).
2. die enough times to turn the bead black.
3. destroy the confessor statues (the one that gives you your tears back if you die).
4. while having the black bead equipped, there will now be a portal where the statue once stood that leads to a combat challenge room.
5. each time you beat the challenge rooms, the seed that Deogracias gave you at the start of the game will grow.
6. after beating all the challenge rooms (I think there are 6 in total), defeat the final boss to achieve the good ending.

Hi Escribar
playing devils advocate
if none of those events took place the quest never would have taken place and nobody would have the penitent one to learn from
