This has literally been known the entire time. Activision stated that they would skip a CoD release for 2023 and provide a "substantial DLC update" to MWII instead. But then things changed and they felt that the DLC was big enough to warrant being its own game.
i think its more the idea that theyre selling it as a new game that is what is making people mad. Why not just make it 30 bucks DLC for MW2 2022 and call it a day? Get a little good will with the community and just for once dont try to rape their wallet? Frankly I just dont get why companies always have to do shit like that in the name of profit. Not everything is "number go up" to have a successful business.
>Why not just make it 30 bucks DLC for MW2 2022 and call it a day?
There's actually some recent rumors that it's going to be $30-$40 for people who already bought MWII.
There was some dude who saw the game on Steam and it was priced at the equivalent of ~$40. Pic related.
If the game only took a little over a year of development time, then maybe ActiBlizz are pricing it depending on how little work went into developing the game.
is this better or worse than when CODs would charge a 60 dollar season pass on release, barring anyone who didn't purchase it from the rest of the community who did? i guess its the same, just spread out over two years than just one.
Nah, I want to believe that most of you guys are smart fellas and won't waste money on this game. It's a glorified DLC and I personally believe that it is not ready to be released in November.
It was initially a DLC that was meant to integrate into MWII's MP + BR mode, but then they changed it into being its own standalone game. The DLC tag on Steam is just a holdover from before.
>The DLC tag on Steam is just a holdover from before.
Stop playing stupid, moron. If it was an actual full blown game with a story they would have changed that by now. You fricking corpo whiteknights are the reason gaming is so shit these days
The braindeadness of COD fans is almost nintendo level of stupid. >He probably told them to put DLC these guys frick with yo mind
Hey guys, they just put "DLC" in to frick with you hehehe, I bet it was Makarov who did this, god this game is so genius, I have to buy 3 copies
Why is the actor who plays Price just laughing like a complete moron? "Oh no, they found out that I was lying, guess I will just laugh it off, I got paid anyway hahahaha"

Man frick them actijews
I'm only interested in multiplayer and still would have to pay $70 every year and it's not like the game isn't focused on skin sales like some f2p chink garbage
Well in this case they get $0
Yeah no enough is enough, as people are obviously too stupid to stop buying this goyslop shit we actual need laws for that. A NEW game has to be DRAMATICALLY different from the previous game. What a fricking joke man
Every CoD sequel has been DLC since the first one
This is unironically the first time we got a literal copy pasted game from the previous year
FIFA on the switch did it first. Like three years in a row it was the exact same code just updated rosters lol
this is a good thing though, everyone likes the reboot

This isn't news.

Not him but I don't believe that for a second, I'm positive they'll make it $70 because like
said, people will still buy it.

Its ok when Nintendo does it
It literally is.
t. game tester
tell us some more shit

I haven't bought MWII though.
Zombies?
>Zombies?
This is what they did with MW2 already. Game was about half finished when it released last Nov.
Activision is horrible company.
Beginning of the end. Funny how they couldn't effectively milk Modern Warfare/Black Ops nostalgia enough
>Beginning of the end
People said the same with:
>WaW
>MW3
>Ghosts
>AW
>IW
>WWII
>Cold War
>Vanguard
And yet CoD still marches on.
we know
So it really has come down to this. This time it's actual fricking DLC. If this shit sells well (which it 100% will) we're beyond fricked.

dont care. still buying, still playing, still enjoying, still having fun with my CoDslop
shitters don't @ me, skill issue
they'll still buy it
Call4 and MW2 is the best
Making a new AAA online game became so unfeasible that the "next title" or the bigger number is basically just an update. Look Overwatch 2 or CS2
>making entire new games became so hard, game devs literally just gave up
So, this is how gaming dies, huh? By game devs not even pretending anymore?
Why would you use CS2 as an example? It's completely free, and it's something that the CSGO community has been asking for, for ages.
The braindeadness of COD fans is almost nintendo level of stupid.

Because he knows it's not a DLC. See

Agreed, something needs to change
don’t care, still buying Nicki Minaj operator
besides COD will be Gamepass for free soon, the only people this effects is Tendies, Steamies and Ponies
Xbox wins
thanks anon, feels good backing Microsoft this gen
i fricking loathe Warzone 2, compared to Warzone 1.
It takes real effort to make the game unfun to newbies, casuals, midtier, sweats, and pros.
We haven't gotten a COD game since WWII. MW 2019 permanently ruined the franchise.
FRICK BATTLE ROYALE.
