COD To Follow In Halo Infinites Footsteps

looks like Call Of Duty about to be 343i’d, why does Microsoft/Xbox love using short term contracters so much?

It's a disgusting practice that should be illegal but a lot of game studios do this. They make you take mandatory 3 month breaks and then give you a new contract so it restarts.

here's an idea. don't work on the fricking videogames business. if workers were in short supply they wouldn't pull this shit.

also it doesn't matter because they'll all be gone in 5-10 years anyways when AI takes over. good riddance to these israelite Black person worshipping homosexuals.

no, I mean, it's not like this will cause the quality of the games to nose dive, because they're already shit, so the fans will continue to eat it up because they're clearly content with that

Campaign was good, firefight is good too. Halo 5's firefight was better though.
But PvP multiplayer is just too much like CoD run n gun. Everyone starts with a gun that can shoot across the map. And the maps are shit.

Reminder that when Halo Infinite launched, 343 couldn't add a Slayer playlist because no one who was left at the company knew how to edit the UI. There's plenty of reasons why 343 is a terrible developer, but the overabundance of contract work is probably the biggest reason why.

I didn't think there were any Halo defenders left. They fricked up not making a BR game. Now they lost their window as BR games are kind of a dying genre. So Halo is just dead.

          Anonymous

Halo is dead because the franchise is trying to continue a story that should have ended with 3, it has no new ideas in its sandbox as a result other than "what if grappling hook?", and the level design is drab and inspired. A battle royale would have changed none of these things, and in fact would have just been an admission that the franchise is out of ideas.
CoD is another franchise out of ideas and you can see the consequences with the reaction to nu-MW3.

Lack of BR is not why Infinite failed. Frick BR.

No one gives a shit about the story. It is all about gameplay and game modes. BR was the current trend when Infinite was in development and 343 refused to adapt. They actively resisted the idea and when Infinite came out it was ass. Then they scrambled to try and create some BR mode, but then that eventually fell through as they were already too far behind.

Halo's sandbox is extremely dependent on the campaign's mechanics, zoom zoom.

                >sandbox
                >campaign
No one cares. No one has cared about Halo's campaign since Halo 3 and a sandbox game FPS game isn't something that succeeds in modern gaming. How do you not get that? How dumb where they in creating a new FPS game and trying to base it on fricking Farcry 3 from 2012?

              >No one gives a shit about the story.
They STOPPED giving a shit, and the series died when that happened. Halo is not like Mario with a bunch of characters you could easily plop into different settings, Halo is a finished story with a clear beginning, middle, and end.

This makes no sense. They just bought IW, Treyarch, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software. 4 studios who have been making CoD games full-time for like a decade. The only studio that had officially confirmed layoffs was Sledgehammer Games, losing 30% of their employees(~135).

Why the FRICK would they then start hiring contractors instead? What's actually more plausible is that MS is hiring contractors for customer support, not actual development, like they are doing with other Blizzard games.

I am noticing this trend on reddit and I guess here where you absolutely cannot blame devs for any issues in any game except now I guess it's ok if the devs are contract workers. Halo Infinite played just fine. The issue was management and that led to identity issues within the game and chasing trends. Infinite was a GaaS free to play game and as we see that model is imploding. Plus like it or not, 343 adopted a no crunch policy so that added another layer of shit
