Haven't played it, but the base game runs great, muddy textures at points but it's manageable, the gameplay is smooth and up to where I am, haven't encountered drops.
Good to know it runs good, might buy them next time they're on sale on the eShop.
Want to try Nier when it comes out but been worried about the potential performance.
Surprisingly good, got them only because they were on sale, both games look good and run good, it's not PC levels of course, my friend was watching me play and agreed that the game looked better than it should, I played it on PC first and I am enjoying it equally.

The Schooling isn't hard and if you've ever wanted to work on a Cessna you'll get to. Just make sure you pay attention and if your instructors are good they'll walk you through how to pass the Powerplant and practical exams.
Not even joking with you, even if you're slightly interested you should do it. A&P mechanics are in such low supply right now that you have full bargaining power with pretty much any employer you want. Another big perk is that I get free flights whenever the frick I want on any Southwest flight that has open seats for me and up to 2 family members or friends.

Wouldn't recommend working for Delta. One thing your instructors tell you though is to put your school work down as work experience and to list them as references, you get hands on experience working with aircraft of 18 months. Worked when I had to do it. It may have helped somewhat that I had a few years experience working for Boeing before I applied but in a completely unrelated capacity.
>I'm an adult, so obviously I can't stop thinking about the switch and hang out in switch threads on a website whose demographic is teens.
Not even (You) worthy, ma'am
picked up these from the current sale >gatorobo >part time ufo >toem >link's awakening
looking at >rune factory 5 >cuphead bundle >various shmups
currently playing >mario kart 8
>cuphead bundle
I don't think it needs any more shilling but I will anyway because it's fricking amazing and plays wonderfully on switch.
Seriously Cuphead is such a rock solid game. Just get it. If only for the soundtrack
>What have you been enjoying on your Switch lately Ganker?
Marble Maid, Burnout Paradise, Hat in time, and about to start Paperball Deluxe after I grabbed it on sale last week. Just noticed they added pokemon Snap so probably play that later too.
I'd settle for some fricking GC games, I want to play Billy Hatcher again
Whole group pitched in bought it for a friend’s birthday he’s gonna love it
noice, but did you get him a screen protector
I've been having fun with Cadence of Hyrule
I need to try it again, got smothered by my Splatoon 2 DLC play-through
AI The Somnium Files 2, Monster Hunter Rise, and ElecHead on my own this week.
Visited my brother and played some Mario Gold: Super Rush yesterday, gonna do Cuphead tonight.
Just finished Chex Quest HD, I am currently playing Sin & Punishment 64 but can't beat 1-3 boss
I also recently bought AI Somnium Files, Saints Row III, Capcom Arcade Stadium and Castlevania Advance Collection on the Switch eshop sales.
I also have tons of fricking games on the backlog like Pacman Museum+, Astral Chain, SMT V, DOOM 1, DOOM 2, DOOM 3 and 64, Bravely Default II, Aggelos, Blasphemous, Demon Turf, Ion Fury, Hotline Miami 1&2, Dragon Ball Fighterz, Ender Lilies, Steamworld, and other 200 games..
But also I am playing most N64 and Sega Genesis games, I'm currently enjoying Kirby 64, ToeJam & Earl, Ristar and Castlevania: Bloodlines
I dunno how you ppl handle your backlog, guess I will stop getting games for a while except for Xeno 3, Bayo 3 and Splatoon 3.
I hope we get Super Mario Odyssey 2, New DK game and GBC/GBA games coming to Switch
Also I need DLC for MK8 Deluxe and Mario Party Superstars

I don't know if they fixed it yet but there is a bug in kotor2 that makes it impossible to finish the game. I haven't played it on switch but I'm pretty sure you will run into it and there's a significant portion of the game left when it happens.
The last Mario+Rabbids Sparks of Hope presentation convinced me to give the first game a try. And since it's dirt cheap I just bought the gold edition. It's been fun so far, also the game looks surprisingly pretty visually, for a year 1 Switch game
Yep, it's something special. I always tell people to try it when they ask for Switch recommends. The sequel looks like it might be even better, and more soulful too now that all the Rabbids have unique VAs to fit them. Rabbid Mario sounding like a Brooklynite now is a godsend.
TMNT: Shredder's Revenge. I'm trying to beat the last challenge of defeating the final boss without getting hit, and it's a pain. I swear the hitbox on those flames changes.
There's nothing comfy about the switch, cant personalize, cant even change the wallpaper, no games, games that finally come out are 5 years old and played to death. cant stream any videos, cant do shit. the day switch gets hacked is the day it becomes comfy, until then enjoy the paperweight.
Finished portal 1 and 2, also luigi mansion 3, I am on the fence if buying the klonoa remasters on pc or on switch also looking foward to xenoblade 3 and pac-man world re-pac.
Been playing Revita alot lately but played some TMNT and Demon slayer with friends yesterday. Want to get into other games like Cuphead DLC, MonHun DLC, Fire Emblem Warriors, and more but Revita has me by the balls. I'm addicted to Roguelites and this one has me in a chokehold. Waiting for Klonoa collection too.
finally got some time to play 13 Sentinels, the story has been pretty engaging, 73% and it has been "trust nobody not even yourself not even yourself self" fun but now I have to do the combat bit to unlock more of the story, it is fine but ehhh, it hasn't click on me yet, kinda wish it was just a full VN instead.
Nintendo needs to add achievements/trophies for games. It makes finishing games feel hollow because there's no digital footprint you accomplished anything.
I used to think that but I'm actually thankful there are none of that bs, I play games out of enjoyment unlike before and 100% when I want to, not because of dumb internet points, no longer doing mindless or just plain obnoxious task is a plus too.
its not about dumb internet points its about having a digital scrapbook of your gaming history. I can go on psn/xbox/steam and see times, dates, in chronological order showing me years worth of games as well as compare with friends.
This.
Sorry to say but if you have some moronic compulsive shit that makes you feel "obligated" to platinum every single game then you need to see a doctor.
It's just a fun and simple thing to add that can add tons of replayability to the console and games.
45 hours in Hollow Knight so far. Taking a break from it. A little bit of Knockout City in between. Awesome game, but I'd rather play it on PS4 from now on.
I just sent mine in back in January. It was my only pair and the wait was annoying but they've been fine. I was kind of hoping they'd accidentally send me back random colors and was a little disappointed they sent back what I had.
Playing Astral Chain right now, got past the tutorial.
Dunno how to feel about it so far. I love the visuals and the music, but I don't care much about the story and the Legion combat takes some getting used to. I almost wish that it didn't have auto-attack for the legion and was more like a weird RPG, but it's kinda growing on me.
>I love the visuals and the music, but I don't care much about the story and the Legion combat takes some getting used to.
I felt the same way. The action never clicked with me so I dropped the game after a long as frick astral plane mission
I am doing my second playthrough of Dragon Quest XI now, this time in 2D. It feels like a completely new game and now I actually know what's going on because the entire story is summarized in a handful dialogue boxes instead of those annoyingly long cutscenes.
Also, I am hyped for: >Dragon Quest Treasures >Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection >Siralim Ultimate
And I am still hoping for the release of a good 4X game on the Switch, maybe Songs of Conquest.
>hori split pad started drifting down on the right stick
Feels bad. They were normally so reliable. I might have to just get a new set. I'll dust off my joycon for the time being I guess unless someone has an easy fix? I've tried using my compressor but I don't think I can get at where it might be impacted.
I dont know how nintendo managed to do it but they fricking manage to make people completely forget about MM2.
This was so fricking "huge" on the Wii U. How tf did completely ruin it in the second installment?
I hope the first free update for Strikers is meaty. I read a "leak" a few days ago about Daisy and a new alien character with a UFO game mode. Sounded cool as frick.
I'm thinking of buying a switch lite today, as I only have a shared TV and most games would probably look better and comfier on the small screen anyway. This will be my first and only game system since I had to sell my PC in lockdown. My tastes and tolerance has changed since and I'm looking for something simpler. I'll pick up Tropical Freeze, Dread, SMT3, and possibly another.
Have fun anon. If you're looking for something simple maybe try Shovel Knight and Celeste if you haven't already.
They're pretty comfy to play in bed I find.
If you're planning on going for a Switch lite, I recommend getting not only some screen protectors, but the Satisfye grip. Or any grip in general, though the Satisfye grip on amazon comes with a nice travel case, some nubs to make the analog sticks larger, and a USB-C cable for charging on the side.
I found the Switch Lite is too tiny for my adult hands without a grip, but with one it feels pretty decent.
What people never discuss about hackable units is that batteries do erode, and the switch is designed in such a way so as to prevent the dock from working if the battery cannot charge. 5 years for a games console used daily is probably going to have taken a considerable amount off from the max capacity. This is one of the (admittedly autistic) reasons I didn't buy one.
No. I'm implying that hacked switches are 2017 models, and the system is in its sixth year now. Why spend all that money for a system which has a seriously worn battery by this point?
You can just replace the battery and the fan, you know. You can find replacement parts online and it's super easy to do, all you have to do is remove a bunch of screws: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8JDbQTk5zw . Other than that, nothing else "degrades" in the Switch.
Spending $40 in parts and 20 minutes of your time to replace them is worth years of free games imo. This is assuming they even need replacing in the first place: even if you're buying the device second-hand it doesn't mean it's been used every single day for five years.
You said nothing else degrades, but I'm interesting to see whether that is the case. Previous nintendo handhelds have been indestructible, but none have ever ran games at such high quality. You couldn't play the witcher 3 on DS. A GPU in a computer will last longer if it isn't put under stress. I haven't heard of switches from 2017 dying en masse yet, so it sounds like good news. I'm not having an argument here, I'm just honestly interested in this aspect

Not that anon. I have a day one Switch which I've played for an embarassingly high number of hours. I've replaced the fan once and I'd probably replace the battery if I didn't mostly play it at home or didn't have a power bank for when I plan to play it outside. I hope they put out a hardware refresh next year so I can upgrade from this model, but it still works perfectly fine.

Switch runs underclocked and keeps their surface temperature under the standard temperature for handheld items.
Performance degradation is also temperature-dependent, meaning that the performance won't be degraded fast unlike in PC/laptop/etc.

Silicon does degrade over time, but it's such a slow process it doesn't matter for consumers. We're talking about 20+ years. Chips degrade faster if you push high voltages through them, but this of course is not the case for a low-powered device such as the Switch.
What kills graphics cards most of the time is thermal cycling: the constant expansion and contraction may damage the solder joints at the bottom over time. But this is mostly an issue for huge, high-end GPUs; the Tegra X1 in the Switch is not only pretty small, but it doesn't heat up all that much. So again, the degradation is mostly theoretical in this case as well.
What people should be concerned about when buying an old Switch model is the battery, the fan... and the joycons I guess.
Very interesting, thanks. Yes, the joycons are perhaps the largest concern, though thankfully replaceable. I hated them so much, that I got a lite and sticked to handheld. Its just much less stressful for me to maintain one all-in-one device than to worry about the batteries and performance of two controllers, in addition to the tablet. Drift does exist in the lite but I'm not bothered about returning, though I do think its massively overstated or at least dependent on how you use the sticks, i.e. the types of games played.

Yeah, its lifetime is only like 2 million cycles.
Still, surprisingly my right stick gets fricked first. Probably because of how I try to maintain the perspective when playing games. Hopefully, developers will fix that problem by releasing an auto-focus camera feature.

No, I know gyro aim and I used that for MH Rise when I was playing as an LBG user. I meant it's for something like Astral Chain, Xenoblade etc that its perspective needs to be corrected manually.

No, just standard wear and tear. Sleep mode is no different to on a phone or tablet. But the switch doesn't have excellent battery life as it is, and assuming the previous owner played a moderate amount in handheld mode, they would have been charging once, possibly twice a day for the last 5 years +. And most modern batteries are rated for 900-1,200 charge cycles. If the console was always docked it wouldn't be such an issue.
The genre can be made with very little resources compared to other video game genres. Sounds nice on paper but in reality this results in a genre that has a lot of lazy garbage titles that people have to dig through to find the gems. People know what to expect from an EO game but if it doesn't have that name tag you're basically rolling a die and 5 out of 6 it's going to be another lazy garbage game.
Nothing, I haven't enjoyed video games in years. I'm just living day to day until I either die of a horrible illness or gather the courage to stick my Beretta in my mouth.
Try MK8 Deluxe and DKC TROPICAL FREEZE. Seriously, I basically quit playing in 2019 because I was so disillusioned and playing became a habit rather than for fun. Took a while off, played a couple of minor titles in between, resumed last month with switch and its a joy.
Playing Monster Hunter Rise. It's decent. Give me something to play while I wait for Splatoon 3. Nothing else on switch I want this year. Unless Silksong comes out.
I've mostly been playing minecraft. mostly been mining and stacking materials, and filling out maps and putting them on my wall. Im pretty new but i learn something new to make or build almost every time i play it
Can you give me your impressions? I've been hard thinking about it but I don't really enjoy other dynasty warriors-esque games but I really love pretty much every Fire Emblem game.
RPG games that get translated into musou games tend to have better mechanics than just a pure musou game, so you might enjoy it more. Also, I thought there's a free demo for the game? You can just try it man.
Note that the demo doesn't get to the actual meat of the game which is the war chapter that adds all the base camp mechanics. It's like a slightly streamlined version of Three Houses where you can move around camp, talk to the other characters, spend activity points for training or strenghtening bonds, use resources to upgrade facilities and plan your route to the chapter's main mission on the map screen. It's similar to Three Houses in a lot of ways, I'm sure you'll be fine if you liked that.
Yes but it's a lot more action than platforming. Still good if you're a megaman fan though, especially if you just want something to fill the void until the Megaman Battle Network collection comes out.
Is OLED good?
Definitely looks better than the original model, a substantial battery upgrade too if you still have the old 2017-19 models.
>Definitely looks better than the original model, a substantial battery upgrade too if you still have the old 2017-19 models.
Build quality is also miles ahead. Front frame is metal, kickstand is metal and wider. Better matte finish on the back.
>How's Metroid Dread? I feel the hype carried that mediocre-looking game.
To me, it's one of the best games in 2021 and a candidate for the list of games to be replayed every year.
There's a demo containing the entire first area. Give it a try and form your own opinion.
It just seems a far cry from 2017-18 nintendo titles in effort and soul. It was clearly a tidy up and remaster of a 3DS game that never was. The environments look extremely bland and samey, and I'm not a fan of the whole 'unkillable enemies you have to run from' aspect. I'll get the demo.
>The environments look extremely bland and samey, and I'm not a fan of the whole 'unkillable enemies you have to run from' aspect.
Yeah the EMMI sections are hit and miss. They eventually grew on me, but I understand why others still don't like them.
>form your own opinion
Why do so many people on Ganker struggle with this? Is it an age thing?
>Is it an age thing?
Always has been. I am pretty sure even our ancestors were shittalking about cave paintings they never saw.
Dread is a fantastic game. It's not flawless but lots of people decided to overanalyze it and impose whatever standards on the game, highlighting every little detail that wasn't 100% perfect according to them. It's a great 2D Metroid game that you'll love if you loved previous 2D Metroid games. If you are a zoomer who grew up playing Hollow Knight, a fat neckbeard obsessed with Super Metroid speedruns or a normalgay expecting Prime 4, then yeah you'll be disappointed with Dread.
Nah the EMMI parts are great. The first time around they are really tense and atmospheric, and in replays they are a really cool test of reflexes and skill to go throught their areas as fast as possible without getting caught
It's also one of the best games on the system. But zoomers only care about the rate of play time per dollar spent. So unless a game takes at least 50 hours for a single playthrough, it's automatically considered shit.
Most of that pile is no great loss, having not much in the way of replayability and/or an underwhelming experience. I do the same in only keeping my favourites, which with the switch so far is Tropical Freeze and Xenoblade Chronicles
Different anon here. I know you mean well but I have to disagree. When I was a child, I used to trade and sell games a lot, so that I could play newer stuff. I really regret losing big parts of my collection from my childhood. As an adult, I haven't sold or given away a single game, unless it was conplete ass.
Its just personal preference. If I didn't have quite the foundation of digital games, I'd probably keep my physical copies, but as my collection is mixed that will always annoy me and I see no point of holding onto it (unless I buy physical copies for my digital library)
I get you, though. I had boxed copies of heartgold AND soulsilver growing up, with the pokewalker and all. I sold them for pennies, now they are worth more than I could ever put down for a game.
>muh comfy thread >muh fisher price toy >muh 12fps underpowered console
frick off bingshitters. You ruin every famitsu thread with ur flamewar garbage and now you act like u gays are comfy and wholesome in ur safespace threads? Cant wait when you start crying when the new GoW comes out and takes the industry by storm while everyone remembers Nintendo as a toy company for babies
Based. I own one myself but there is barely any must have games and the lack of power is clearly holding back the potential of the exclusives. The pokemon games look ugly as sin
I think it is because if you mod better textures into a game like pokemon legends it does actually lag the system. But that doesn't happen when you do the same thing on emulator
Just beat Altered Beast and Vectorman. Haven't chipped away at Phantasy Star II yet. Probably going to bounce some action games around until one sticks or I'll hop onto my N64 and finish up Forsaken 64. I know for sure after I beat Phantasy Star II I'll hop onto Shining Force II since I beat the first SF.
I completed Pikmin 3 Deluxe recently. I was surprised by how short it was. I feel like the game was only starting and then it was all over.
I hope, if they ever continue the franchise, that they make it much more open world. Like Minecraft or Harvest Moon type of game. Just let players explore the world, collect fruit, make more pikmin, discover human objects, go into caves and shit. No need for there to be an ultra linear mission based campaign.
Nearing the end of Crysis Remastered. It sorta falls off after the half-way point. I'll slog it out, hoping to get to 2.
Also dipped my toes in cities skylines. Might watch some tutorials on youtube and reset it tho, get a good start. Fricking aids that the half of the default map is unusable hills immediately.
Currently in the post-game on Pokemon Legends, probably just going to wrap up the extra story and then move on to something else.
I've got a big backlog of Switch games to play but I'll probably start by finishing Earthbound or Dragon Quest XI
Just finished Colony 6 restoration to 100%. Now to do all the sub quests before I can finally beat the final boss and play Future Connected before Xenoblade 2...
Nocturne has been £25 for the deluxe edition on a key website for a while, I'm very tempted but don't know if I can be bothered with all the research (endings, fusing)
>Smash Ultimate
Underwhelming if you like singleplayer which is somewhat offset by its gigantic roster. But if you play with friends offline, it's the best it's ever been since Brawl (for offline fun experience anyway).
I got Diablo 2 recently on switch. Am I crazy for thinking the old graphics kinda look better. Also is oddly muted. Like it's half as loud as every other switch game unless I switch to legacy graphics. But I feel like I'm missing something if I play the whole game like that. Anyways anyone got noob tips?
The old graphics look like shit on portable mode. They are very crunchy compared to OG Diablo II. I haven't tried it on a TV so I can't comment on that. What class are you starting as? Don't worry about Normal difficulty since it's manageable. When you get to Nightmare then gear up with the Countess getting some basic rune words. Then when you can Nightmare Mephisto kill him a bunch until you can gear up. Poverty tier and the best way to start magic finding is to get a 3 socket helm and 4 socket body armor and shove in as many perfect topazes into them to get insane magic find since magic find will increase the frequency and rarity of magical items.
Started playing as paladin. Cleansing evil from the land with holy power is based. Anyways I saw something about exclusive runewords to the ladder and stuff but I wasn't really sure what all that meant? Is it like an gear enchantment system or something?
How does it play on Switch?
I only have a switch lite. So far it's only chugged at class select and everywhere else has been a consistent 30fps, but I haven't gone anywhere busy yet I'm not sure if it'll remain smooth if lots of enemies show up at once. Though, it does drain battery more than other games, might just be my imagination.
With the remaster they allowed a bunch of ladder only rune words to be allowed to be used on non-ladder. Rune words are made up of runes put into a certain order in a specific item and it grants that item many magical properties. They only work in non-magical socketed gear, so having a unique item with many sockets won't net you rune word bonuses even if you insert the right runes in the correct order.
If you're playing a melee paladin, you don't have to worry about this yet, but when you get into Nightmare you'll want to obtain items that give you crushing blow. Crushing blow does percentage based damage according to a monsters current HP which can really whittle down monsters, and bosses, quickly. The first place people often get crushing blow is through unique boots, like goblin toe or gore riders.
DOOM Eternal
Based. Is the DLC worth getting?
Haven't played it, but the base game runs great, muddy textures at points but it's manageable, the gameplay is smooth and up to where I am, haven't encountered drops.
Part 1 was kind of eh. Part 2 is a lot of fun mechanucally, but the maps are the most boring.
How is it playing Doom at 30fps? Wanted to try the port, shame there's no demo
I played through both Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal on Switch both played great. The gyro makes it.
Been bouncing rapidly between games like a squirrel.
>SMT V
>Fortnite (I know; a friend invited me to play it, it's fun)
>Friday the 13th
>Doom 2016 (still struggling with it a year after buying it)
If I suck at 2016 will I suck worse at Eternal?
>If I suck at 2016 will I suck worse at Eternal
Yes.
Guess I better get gud.

>Guess I better get gud.
why do we talk the same way like all posts are written by the same person. its kinda weird
It's such a different game that I can't believe it is a sequel to it, but yeah, Eternal is way faster.
How do you guys get around paying $20 bucks a year to use your own online? Xbox at least has bing...
I make 20 bucks in like 20 minutes when I am working, I would prefer not to pay though
what is your profession?
Chemical engineer
Can I become one and make as much money as you in 2 years?
Not him but I got an A&P License in a little under two years and now work for Southwest doing frick all every day for 60$ an hour.
I like that
The Schooling isn't hard and if you've ever wanted to work on a Cessna you'll get to.
It's a big switch from medical assistant but I'll do it
I have a family member who did Medical Assisting and he said it was fricking ass, completely killed any motivation for me to go for it. I don't think he ever actually got certified for it after he had to do his interning at our local hospital.
Might be difficult to find one in 2 years... 3 for sure
Wouldn't recommend working for Delta. One thing your instructors tell you though is to put your school work down as work experience and to list them as references, you get hands on experience working with aircraft of 18 months. Worked when I had to do it. It may have helped somewhat that I had a few years experience working for Boeing before I applied but in a completely unrelated capacity.
because it's only $20 bucks a year.
Monsuta hunta
Been enjoying some mh rise on my switch pro
I'm an adult, so obviously I don't have a Switch.
>I'm an adult, so obviously I can't stop thinking about the switch and hang out in switch threads on a website whose demographic is teens.
Not even (You) worthy, ma'am
>What have you been enjoying on your Switch lately Ganker?
NOTHING
New mystery dungeon dx playthough. Cursing the acnh diy gods
Just beat Resident Evil 4 for the first time. Quality game.
Is Narita Boy any good? The art style caught my interest
i wanted to replay RE4 on switch but was so pissed off about them not adding gyro that i couldn't bring myself to buy it even on sale. fricking c**ts
need non-JRPGs please
second wind while i wait for the masterpiece
Might give up on getting NMH1 + 2 physically and just get them digitally whilst they are on sale.
Have you tried Play Asia?
https://www.play-asia.com/no-more-heroes-1-2-english/13/70evjt
No thanks. I have a deck
Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak
Fe: Three Hopes
TMNT: Shredders Revenge
Cuphead DLC
Comfy time to play the Switch
it really is. I got Undermine, MH Sunbreak, Doom Eternal with DLCs, and Astral Chain. Lots of stuff to play.
tbh I just play minecraft for like 30 min before bed every night.
picked up these from the current sale
>gatorobo
>part time ufo
>toem
>link's awakening

>rune factory 5
>cuphead bundle

Is Gatoroboto any good?
solid cute litte metroid clone
Yep. Quick and fun.
>cuphead bundle
I don't think it needs any more shilling but I will anyway because it's fricking amazing and plays wonderfully on switch.
Seriously Cuphead is such a rock solid game. Just get it. If only for the soundtrack
>cuphead bundle
Is it still on for a physical copy when all the dlc comes out ?
bundle
>Is it still on for a physical copy when all the dlc comes out ?
Yes, the devs said that they will share news on the physical Switch version soon.
Mario and Rabbids is this months NSO Game Trial so I'm finally giving that a try
When does it start?
Already has
I wish they'd port risen and dead island to switch
I wish we got Dead Rising 1, 2 and OTR
Just get a Steam Deck
How do Xenoblade 2 and Astral Chain run on the Deck, Anon? Those are my favorite Switch games.
Valve only made like a dozen. My friend preordered his the first day and still hasn't gotten it
I'm not buying anything from the console kiddie shit social media platform of PC gayming. Canceled my reservation in February and do not care
Me too, Anon. Me too.
Yeah...
Follow me!
Hello?
Over there!
Good!
Faaaantastic!
Nintendo's pretty cozy with Microsoft, if they make that Switch 2 we've seen the specs for they could probably get DR3 as well.
Eh. I can take or leave DR3.
What, it's not like I said YOU GUYS ARE LIKE THE HITLERS OF ZOMBIES! THANKS OBAMA!
I'm still fricking mad about that game.
>What have you been enjoying on your Switch lately Ganker?
Marble Maid, Burnout Paradise, Hat in time, and about to start Paperball Deluxe after I grabbed it on sale last week. Just noticed they added pokemon Snap so probably play that later too.
I'd settle for some fricking GC games, I want to play Billy Hatcher again
noice, but did you get him a screen protector
I need to try it again, got smothered by my Splatoon 2 DLC play-through
Whole group pitched in bought it for a friend’s birthday he’s gonna love it
You couldn't scrape together another $50 for the OLED?
Thinking about picking up a Castlevania collection. Any specific recommendations?
any good multiplayer dungeon crawlers/resource gatherers?
Sauce on this qt?
I have her titty photos. Brown nipples.
Fricking post the uncropped one already
>Aggelos
Thinking about playing this soon, just got my copy in.
Yes, pretty underrated game, a hidden gem
I've been having fun with Cadence of Hyrule
I want to only play niche games for the switch, name me hentai games or niche games
Get Dark Devotion
Been playing the newest Star Wars ports on it, currently playing Force Unleashed after finishing KOTOR, I'll get KOTOR 2 once I'm done with FU.
I don't know if they fixed it yet but there is a bug in kotor2 that makes it impossible to finish the game. I haven't played it on switch but I'm pretty sure you will run into it and there's a significant portion of the game left when it happens.
It got patched.
That's great but I'd wait for the restored content mod to be added. You have to start a new game to play it.
>Force Unleashed
Motion controls or regular?
Have you played Jedi Academy on switch. Tempted to revisit that
The last Mario+Rabbids Sparks of Hope presentation convinced me to give the first game a try.
I got Force Unleashed, Megaman 11, and Huntdown during the summer sale. Did I do good?
TMNT: Shredder's Revenge. I'm trying to beat the last challenge of defeating the final boss without getting hit, and it's a pain. I swear the hitbox on those flames changes.
When will we get FFXI on switch?
Still playing SMT V
And I plan to buy live a live and Nier port
I own a switch and IM FRICKING GAY!
Cuphead
There's nothing comfy about the switch, cant personalize, cant even change the wallpaper, no games, games that finally come out are 5 years old and played to death. cant stream any videos, cant do shit. the day switch gets hacked is the day it becomes comfy, until then enjoy the paperweight.
it got hacked since day one you moron
How to hack the second model then?
Finished portal 1 and 2, also luigi mansion 3, I am on the fence if buying the klonoa remasters on pc or on switch also looking foward to xenoblade 3 and pac-man world re-pac.
Getting to the end of hollow knight
30 hours in on tales of vesperia. I think I am halfway through? Is there any point in using the other characters? I just keep using Yuri.
Astral Chain, just started the post-game cases.
Best hack and slash of the gen
I'm still finishing SMTV. I might actually put off Sunbreak despite having already bought it since Xeno3 is rapidly approaching
Xenoblade 2. Really annoyed that KOS-MOS isn't showing up and I'm still in NG so I'm not getting the other blades while I'm opening these cores.
Hope they never listen to you
World of tanks blitz
There's honestly not many games I'd like to play right now on the Switch, I'm just waiting for BotW 2.
45 hours in Hollow Knight so far. Taking a break from it. A little bit of Knockout City in between. Awesome game, but I'd rather play it on PS4 from now on.
>buy joycon repair kit
>replace the supposed new screws and they got stripped before even fully enter the joycon
Fricking hell
Yeah Triwing screws are effectively made to be inserted and then never removed. It's just your usual anti-consumer tech company bullshit.
I just sent mine in back in January. It was my only pair and the wait was annoying but they've been fine. I was kind of hoping they'd accidentally send me back random colors and was a little disappointed they sent back what I had.
Omori finally comes in the mail tomorrow since they decided to ship on a holiday weekend like a bunch of morons. Looking forward to it.
>inb4 troony
Just like me some fujoshit shotacon coomer bait :^)
Playing Astral Chain right now, got past the tutorial.
Dunno how to feel about it so far. I love the visuals and the music, but I don't care much about the story and the Legion combat takes some getting used to. I almost wish that it didn't have auto-attack for the legion and was more like a weird RPG, but it's kinda growing on me.
>I love the visuals and the music, but I don't care much about the story and the Legion combat takes some getting used to.
I felt the same way. The action never clicked with me so I dropped the game after a long as frick astral plane mission
Buuump
Miitopia and Sunbreak
I can't even play one match of Fall guys, it doesn't want to go pass the loading screen
Lots and lots of monster hunter.
I am doing my second playthrough of Dragon Quest XI now, this time in 2D. It feels like a completely new game and now I actually know what's going on because the entire story is summarized in a handful dialogue boxes instead of those annoyingly long cutscenes.
Also, I am hyped for:
>Dragon Quest Treasures
>Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection
>Siralim Ultimate
And I am still hoping for the release of a good 4X game on the Switch, maybe Songs of Conquest.
Still playing Metroid Dread, controls are so satisfying
Is Joy-Con Zelda Edition for about 74 bucks worth the price?
>hori split pad started drifting down on the right stick
Feels bad. They were normally so reliable. I might have to just get a new set. I'll dust off my joycon for the time being I guess unless someone has an easy fix? I've tried using my compressor but I don't think I can get at where it might be impacted.
Any anons got any suggestions? Some of the split pads are on sale right now so I might just pull the trigger but if I don't have to, it'd be ideal.
Tendiebros, is mario makes 2 worth $40? like i dont wanna buy this shit and a sequel gets announce a month later, you know what i mean?
the sequel will likely be on the next system. fwiw, i didnt like the game
I dont know how nintendo managed to do it but they fricking manage to make people completely forget about MM2.
This was so fricking "huge" on the Wii U. How tf did completely ruin it in the second installment?
Literally 0 support.
Like they're fricking doing with Strikers right now.
I hope the first free update for Strikers is meaty. I read a "leak" a few days ago about Daisy and a new alien character with a UFO game mode. Sounded cool as frick.
Removing the amiibo support on the 3DS port and the sequel was an absolute dogshit move.
Dragonball xenoverse 2, just started the android saga, did all the hub world quests including beating ss bluegeta
Pretty dog anon
what's the point in getting a dog if you go for an oversized rat breed but are bigger pussys than a cat
Emotions are hard to understad, huh?
autist detected
What's his Pokémon team?
I played Bayonetta 1 for the first time. Amazing and hilarious game.
I had to stop to fap.
About to get a hackable unit soon. Is it worth all the hassle?
What people never discuss about hackable units is that batteries do erode, and the switch is designed in such a way so as to prevent the dock from working if the battery cannot charge. 5 years for a games console used daily is probably going to have taken a considerable amount off from the max capacity. This is one of the (admittedly autistic) reasons I didn't buy one.
Are you implying the batteries don't erode if your switch is not hacked? What?
No. I'm implying that hacked switches are 2017 models, and the system is in its sixth year now. Why spend all that money for a system which has a seriously worn battery by this point?
Replacing the battery shouldn't be terribly difficult. Even then, my original model that I got in late 2017 still works like a charm.
Oh you're talking about buying used. I didn't have that concern because I bought an old model that was still unused.
The fan I replaced was so loud, that when I replaced it I thought I didn't connect the new on e right, it was silent.
Switch runs underclocked and keeps their surface temperature under the standard temperature for handheld items.
Performance degradation is also temperature-dependent, meaning that the performance won't be degraded fast unlike in PC/laptop/etc.
See if you played something like splatoon with gyro aim you are barely using the stick
No, I know gyro aim and I used that for MH Rise when I was playing as an LBG user. I meant it's for something like Astral Chain, Xenoblade etc that its perspective needs to be corrected manually.
You mean leaving the console on sleep mode for that long?
No, just standard wear and tear. Sleep mode is no different to on a phone or tablet. But the switch doesn't have excellent battery life as it is, and assuming the previous owner played a moderate amount in handheld mode, they would have been charging once, possibly twice a day for the last 5 years +. And most modern batteries are rated for 900-1,200 charge cycles. If the console was always docked it wouldn't be such an issue.
>autistic
moronic, all things break down, I've had to replace the fan and joysticks several times, that's how things are and have always been.
i miss etrian odyssey
I took the chance to play some other dungeon crawlers in its absence, but yeah.
Anon are you me? Except the switch cured this for me. I actually enjoy switch games but got sick of AAA and multiplayer games.
I tried picking up my switch earlier, played a couple rounds in Smash bros and put it down. Three hopes looks fun I guess.
Im pretty new but i learn something new to make or build almost every time i play it
MHR without Sunbreak. Waiting a while until it goes on sale.
XC2
Waiting on Splatoon 3
Three Hopes is like drugs even compared to other Warriors.
I was just about to say sorry for being moronic because I just saw the free demo in the store, gonna download and give it a try tonight.
Just ordered this, hopefully I will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed playing XCDE and XC2.
So anons, “big” sale ends in two days. Anything you all found worth getting?
>SMT Nocturne still £45
tf?
Depends on whether you are in Yurope or Burgistan.
AI Somnium Files
Got Gunvolt and Legend of Mana
Is Gunvolt good? I like Megaman games
Yes but it's a lot more action than platforming. Still good if you're a megaman fan though, especially if you just want something to fill the void until the Megaman Battle Network collection comes out.
Is it normal that the Switch can become quite warm after a while in handheld mode?
Yes, it becomes uncomfortable at times.
Picking up a lite today w/ SMT3, Tropical Freeze. How's Metroid Dread? I feel the hype carried that mediocre-looking game.
>Is it an age thing?
Always has been. I am pretty sure even our ancestors were shittalking about cave paintings they never saw.
>form your own opinion
Why do so many people on Ganker struggle with this? Is it an age thing?
>On Ganker
Most people get their opinion from someone else.
Great movement and controls, great bosses. Map and exploration is meh, EMMI parts are terrible. It's a good game, but far from a masterpiece.
I like the EMMI sections, felt like an evolution of the SA-X chasing you in Fusion.
Nah the EMMI parts are great. The first time around they are really tense and atmospheric, and in replays they are a really cool test of reflexes and skill to go throught their areas as fast as possible without getting caught
Dread is one of the best games in the series.
It's also one of the best games on the system. But zoomers only care about the rate of play time per dollar spent. So unless a game takes at least 50 hours for a single playthrough, it's automatically considered shit.
Slay the Spyre. It's quite addictive.
Also got MH Rise on sale. Looking forward to my first MH experience
Got new Joy-Cons.
without flash
Nice anon. Do you play docked or handheld more?
nice image and colors
I think I play equally.
Hey, everyone.
Having to post this here because Reddit keeps removing my shit due to some gay fricking rule.
Basically my joycons dont work in Homebrew when connected "clicked" into the Switch.
When these Joycons aren't connected into the Switch and are used wirelessly they work in homebrew.
Wtf is causing this shit?
>sold all these games since I ran out of money
Feels bad…
games are temporary, but you will always have good memories from them
Most of that pile is no great loss, having not much in the way of replayability and/or an underwhelming experience.
I sold them for pennies, now they are worth more than I could ever put down for a game.
>muh comfy thread
>muh fisher price toy
>muh 12fps underpowered console
frick off bingshitters.
The pokemon games look ugly as sin
>potential
There's not a single modern game more complex than BotW.
Yeah but that game runs at like 20fps and looks very blurry
That's not true
Also
>Being a graphics prostitute
Graphics aren't everything but they shouldn't be ugly looking. I think ACNH and Ultimate are games which look good on the system
Entirely an opinion.
its not about gwafix its just your tablet that cant handle the game, works flawlessly on my machine (PC)
You better be merely pretending.
I find it runs at a solid 30fps now compared to the rocky 25 to 30 back when it first came out
Botw is not really an exclusive to the switch. But yeah. I myself prefer the switch as my JRPG machine
>muh semantics
Doesn't matter on this context.
It's the art style. The Switch isn't holding Pokémon back.
I think it is because if you mod better textures into a game like pokemon legends it does actually lag the system. But that doesn't happen when you do the same thing on emulator
That's because gamefreak doesn't know how to optimize their games, they could release a game on a super computer and it would still stutter.
>Altered Beast
>Vectorman
>Phantasy Star II
>Shining Force II
Glad to see somebody else enjoying his Sega Switch.
I've got a big backlog of Switch games to play but I'll probably start by finishing Earthbound or Dragon Quest XI
>play Zero Wing
>it's actually pretty good
Shame it's only known for the memes
Buuuuuump
Anyone got the SMT nocturne port? Has the framerate been fixed?
It's better, but not perfect
Is handheld mode better? I can't stand sub-30fps, no excuses for a PS2 game
>I can't stand sub-30fps
Probably want to skip it then
Just finished Colony 6 restoration to 100%. Now to do all the sub quests before I can finally beat the final boss and play Future Connected before Xenoblade 2...
Triangle Strategy
SMT Nocturne (love this game)
Breath of the Wild
Kind of underwhelmed with BOTW. What were they thinking making weapons break after 2-3 fights?
How is Smash Ultimate?
How does it play on Switch?
It's adequate. Sometimes if you play on handheld mode for a long time the game will start chugging and you'll need to reboot it.
Is OLED good?
If you don't have a switch, definitely buy the OLED version.
What should I buy with my $8? I'm thinking Valkyria Chronicles.
Not a bad game on the switch, love playing that on handheld
