buy it if you want pussy, now for real, its a great console if you leave your house and stuff like that and you simply dont enjoy the portability of a computer, you will have fun, probably. dont get a Rog Ally that shit sucks, Steam Deck has a better future, honestly.
its really good for emulation in bed but if you have a competent PC it's not worth having to lower the settings in nice looking games to play it in handheld mode. i mistakenly thought that "Deck Verified" meant the game had some sort of optimization mode specifically for the Steam Deck that would retain graphical fidelity but God of War, despite being deck verified runs/looks like shit
buy it if you want to play games like hades or something on handheld
>30 min gaming battery >destroys your eyes >forced to use linux (it's for gaygets) >your weiner will get in the way while gaming for those 30 minutes >average SteamDeck verified game is goyslop like hades 2
Comfy bed gaming is nice but unless you travel a lot or have too much money then it's prob not worth it.
I fly out to to work in an outback mine (2 weeks on 2 weeks off). We have good internet but I have a different room everytime so anything permanent is not an option.
Get a GPD Win 4. Much more powerful, has 2 TB of storage, 32GB of RAM, 1080p display, has an actual keyboard, uses AMD Ryzen, and plays absolutely ANYTHING you throw at it without it complaining since it's Windows.
What's the point of that keyboard... not only is it too small but you wouldn't be able to reach the middle section with your thumbs when you hold it with your both arms.

There is a small thing to move the mouse on the side with your thumb. This is on top of having a mouse input be mapped to the right analog stick in mouse mode (which is hardware based and IS a "mouse" instead of emulating one) and a touch screen.
I only assume that it is there to not have to toggle between mouse and controller mode, as well as an option for more accurate controls in FPSs by using this thing as a mouse.

Don't.

That's what I got last week.
What stops console gaming from using a powerbank holder and be connected 24/7 for much longer battery life? >muh original battery will degrade faster
why would i care if powerbanks are easily replaceable?
Don't buy it if you spend 12 hours on your pc on your days off or a neet. It's better for people who take business trips or cannot be home most of the time, and work requires very little input to the point that it's acceptable to kill time.
It's a comfy emulation and indie machine. I make six figures but my boss is a homosexual and likes me to desk warm a lot of the year so I bring it and play comfy boomer games.
nah

Deck OLED best gaming device
Steam Deck is basically my dream gaming device I always wanted.

nobody serious about gaming buys a shitty steam deck.
it can barely run most games at good performance and the battery lasts very little.
unless all you play are old games
You will finish your steam backlog

Also is small enough to fit in your pocket.
What's the point of that keyboard... not only is it too small but you wouldn't be able to reach the middle section with your thumbs when you hold it with your both arms.
It's better than using a touch screen one. It's more meant for doing things like passwords and typing short, simple things.
Why no trackpads?

How brutal is the battery life? I can't imagine that thing lasting long.

About an hour and a half to 2 hours. More if you lower TDP for less demanding games.
I bought a Steam Deck instead of a real computer and I feel like an idiot
I wish I had a real computer
Kek
He boughted le steam eck for 720p gaming at 30fps. At least you have on OLED screen lmfao

>Steam deck is not available to your country
Oh ok it seems valve doesn't care so why should I convince you?

An RTX 3080ti costs the same.
