It should have never gained popularity, but due to the same type of homosexuals that thought Ted Turner, who wants to depopulate the planet, was actually good, they actually helped blizzard make not one but two maybe even 3 gay video games when they already had Diablow, Lovecraft, and transcraft.

Winston recalls Overwatch while also recruiting new members. Talon operations begin to spike as their leaders congregate. Shared screen time between newer and older members. >S4
Overwatch v Talon with more focus on the newer recruits
I don't think they put all that much thought into the OW world or lore to be frank. Seems like all they had were vague ideas and nothing about how they really connect nor an overarching plot
Overwatch barely has a story, yes characters all have backstories but nothing is much happening now as far as the game's story is concerned, its all stuff that has already happened.
Not anymore but at first yes. Those early cinematic they released were movie quality animations.
The real problem would be that the franchise doesn't have a real fricking story, it just has a series of events that have happened at some point that you don't see or hear and lots of characters backgrounds are written backwards with big changes years into a characters release.
