They literally said it has "familiar MMO elements". It being advertised as a single player game while saying there are MMO mechanics is and has always been a red flag with Korean games.
Not him and i don't know what he's specifically referencing but the devs had an interview last year where they said their mission statement was to "make the world's best mmo's" then started showing off dokev and crimson desert.
It's got all the stuff you can do in BDO only its actually better and is a real game.
Not going to lie or mince words. Laugh it up, but I been playing BDO since it launched almost a decade ago and I fricking hate.
I hate this.
It's betrayal.
Nobody wants this.
Nobody asked for this.
It's shit. Frick this game. Frick Pearl Abyss.
They give us some ultra nationalist korean island bullshit without a single mob to fight or grind while they are churning out this utter garbage. Frick these people forever. Betrayal.
black desert has a lot of neat ideas that could actually be realized in a single player game that doesn't have to worry about balancing around other players
Well if you're gonna make detailed open world game with high production values than RDR2 is the standard to live up. The games fricking 5 years old but new games STILL don't have its horse back riding and production details. Kinda sad.
No most of this stuff that was supposed to be in BDO a decade ago before the devs realized that the only way to make the game survive was to make it KMMO slop.
I really really enjoyed the trailer, looks very cool, but with some major gripes >if it's multiplayer it WILL have p2w asiatic garbage, and nobody seems to be in agreement about wether or not this is singleplayer, session based multiplayer, or an MMO >the combat looks very style over function, seems like fighting small enemies boils down to "press button and you get an animation that you're invincible during" a la batman or shadow of mordor
otherwise though it looks pretty interesting
Nothing in the trailer points to it being multiplayer at all. Same with the game literally being advertised with a set MC and a story where "your actions matter" then there's the whole recruitable npcs to form a team thing.
The combat looks like Black Desert in the same engine which means it shouldn't be close to batmanslop.
The devs have openly talked about how their SP and MP are 100% unified, there's no separation of the two, so it's going to have MP. They've said so. They just haven't specified how it's going to work exactly. >why aren't they showing it then?
Because maybe they don't want to?
You are wrong. It was about this game. the interviewer said it was a single-player game then was instantly corrected when the developer said the SP/MP are unified and refused to call it an SP game, only that the game had solo content within it. I'll try to find the source.

nothing every morons wants Roll+attack simulators.
Shadow of War combat is visually better, more fun and more varied than Soulsshit.
But of course cant admit this because its HARDCORE enough for their e-peen. although i'd would like to see these Soulstards play Bamham or Mordor on hardest difficulty without the UI prompts play the game, considering they got rekt when they had to play Sekiro and couldnt adapt because all they know is roll+attack.
There's a big difference between Mordor and War.
Mordor was too trivialized by the Batman counter, and it left such an impression that most people think that's how it still is. You could massacre hundreds of orcs without even looking at the screen, and some of your special moves could override anything the elite dudes were capable of. This hardly changed at all even at the endgame.
War diversified things both among the warlords and the generic grunts so that it was no longer like Mordor. You could rarely rely on any one tactic or technique because they had a bunch of enemy types designed to counter each of your counters and shit on any of your ezmode mixup moves. You have to be more proactive to take out enemies who will frick you up if you keep doing the same shit or just aren't paying attention. The endgame/postgame sometimes became so nightmarish(ly fun) when you encounter some dude immune to almost everything, bringing along a gang with all of his traits, equipped with some techniques that will blow you the frick out if you aren't on the ball.

people love that shit though, see skyrim.
Let me guess, another boring as frick AIDS filled microtransaction shitty Korean MMO with gender locked classes and a character creator that lies about just how much choice you have
DBO has blacks in it. This is a prequel to that, so when a Black person shows up in a pre-release trailers 3 years later, don't have a meltdown over it.
They stated several times the prequel thing is false. It was first conceived as a prequel but then put in its own universe with no actual relation to Black Desert outside easter eggs.
this will probably launch early 2024 or something and then we can finally start getting updates on dokev, the actual interesting game
they will be wrapping up development on crimson desert later this year and assigning major staff to the dokev team to catch up
they will be reusing assets like trees and stuff from crimson desert
sadly, the developers are moronic for not prioritizing the game that generated a lot of hype during gamescom
i hope they market it properly because the game genuinely looks fun
BDO characters each have like 30+ skills each and there are like 20 characters that all have to be loaded at once. This is a believable variety of content from pearl abyss the question is will it have responsive gameplay? Will it have good LOD loading? Will it have polished storytelling including facial movement?
It sure as frick looks good. I like how your armor changes and you can wear full helmets as well. The fact that it is a singleplayer RPG has me sold 10x over
You are wrong. It was about this game. the interviewer said it was a single-player game then was instantly corrected when the developer said the SP/MP are unified and refused to call it an SP game, only that the game had solo content within it. I'll try to find the source.
Here's the source of the interviewer being corrected when saying the game had separate SP/MP modes. The developer clarified that there is no separate mode and that the SP/MP is a single aspect with available solo content with in the world for those who wish for that. During this same interview they reiterate that the SP "mode" and MP are completely intertwined and are not separated from each other. They even mention pvp faction wars, sieges, and the like.
They state that there will be "no multiplayer exclusive content" (i.e you can solo play things but never say the solo content is in a separate instance from the MP content) but didn't really clarify outside of that. Even in the sentence where the guy mentions a campaign mode, he keeps saying the MP is purposefully built into it and that the two are completely intertwined. They state that the game is not a "traditional MMORPG".
This is the source where the devs brought up their "best MMO games" mission statement while periodically showing off their upcoming games throughout the stream. they first mention it up around the 12 minute mark and it pops up repeatedly later on.
>that could mean anything, this needs to be the case or else I have no argument anymore
Stop coping, don't be surprised when the mmorpg company shits out what's essentially just another mmorpg since it's all they know how to make.

I hate the game, but they sure try to keep it alive.

>why wouldn't they kill off their other game for this game when this game probably won't come out for another 5 years
I fricking wonder? If this game were supposed to be a "replacement", and I'm not saying it is, why would they kill off their main active game now when this game clearly won't come out any time soon?
It's probably gonna be a tie-in game for a MMO later down the line.
Get normans to play this because it's single player, then hook them either on BDO or a Crimson Desert Online in 2 years.
Mounted horse skill from BDO let’s you boost and drift
It's a Korean money laundering operation . No way they can develop something this complex. It'd take GTA levels of money and 50 years of development time.
Literally a BDO asset flips. 80%os the s to if shown already exists in BDO or was at one point showcased but cut as they redid the it game to be a generic grondfeat
Kek, I focused primarily on the robot that I didn't notice that the dragon is mechanical as well.
So what's the story of BDO? Looks like a mish mash of different settings.
It's a Korean money laundering operation . No way they can develop something this complex. It'd take GTA levels of money and 50 years of development time.
No.
Black Desert is and this is technically just an elaborate asset flip.
Question is how much MMO bullshit they're gonna actually put in
It's a single player so that's not happening
They literally said it has "familiar MMO elements". It being advertised as a single player game while saying there are MMO mechanics is and has always been a red flag with Korean games.
no, anon, that means they're ripping whole chunks of BDO to paste into it
It'll basically be a singleplayer mmo
>They literally said it has "familiar MMO elements"
Link to where they said this?
Hope that isn't the case here.
Not him and i don't know what he's specifically referencing but the devs had an interview last year where they said their mission statement was to "make the world's best mmo's" then started showing off dokev and crimson desert.
Didn't stop Dragon Age Inquisition or FF16 from doing stupid things.
It's got all the stuff you can do in BDO only its actually better and is a real game.

Feels like the devs played too much RDR2.
Well if you're gonna make detailed open world game with high production values than RDR2 is the standard to live up. The games fricking 5 years old but new games STILL don't have its horse back riding and production details. Kinda sad.
RDR 2 + BOTW + TOTK + Assassin's Creed + Dark Souls.
No most of this stuff that was supposed to be in BDO a decade ago before the devs realized that the only way to make the game survive was to make it KMMO slop.

The reason its debated is because they had some korean presentation about the game where they talked about specifically MMO things
Yeah, that was about DokeV... not Crimson Desert.
You are wrong. It was about this game. the interviewer said it was a single-player game then was instantly corrected when the developer said the SP/MP are unified and refused to call it an SP game, only that the game had solo content within it. I'll try to find the source.
No. Why are you posting when you haven't looked into it?

I played Shadow of War in Brutal and it was fricking great. The game kicked my ass constantly.

His point is still correct though
No it isn't

IIRC it was straight up canned in favor of the e-girl game and more black desert content
Let me guess, another boring as frick AIDS filled microtransaction shitty Korean MMO with gender locked classes and a character creator that lies about just how much choice you have
Why comment if you know nothing. It's a single player game you homosexual
>Korean game
Only a matter of time until they flood that game with fish-faced women with angel wings and high-heels. God I hate korean games so much.
>no blacks at all and women are kept to a bare minimum
i have no idea what it is but just for that i absolutely fricking love it.
>no blacks at all
someone doesnt know about hashashin in BDO. if this game was taking place in the same universe there 100% would be lmao
>tan character
Omg kangzz he iz black n shiiiiiieeeeet
dont you have a store to rob or something?
now this is cope
>blue eyes
>If they aren't charcoal or shit colored, then they aren't black

How the frick do people like this exist? You must not play any games if all the characters have to be white
Did you reply to the wrong person? That was never my argument.
Yes
>fishing
>grand theft carriage
>giant enemy crab
GOTY confirmed
What is it with games these days and those fricking rectangular photogrammetry rock cliff assets everywhere?
Probably easier on the hardware than having a "usual" slope that needs trees to not look strangely empty.
In the sub-30 segment every frame counts.
Looks cool. DokeV when.
Hopefully never

Why must dicky simulator be so far away? Guess I'll enjoy Crimson Desert and others in the meantime
It's gonna be some shitty online game, who cares. This probably will be too given the developer history.
sadly, the developers are moronic for not prioritizing the game that generated a lot of hype during gamescom
i hope they market it properly because the game genuinely looks fun
After Crimson Desert releases.
korean witcher vaporware
damn I wanted to be a hot asiatic b***h not discount geralt
still looks cool though
there are 5 characters to select I believe
oh that's cool, hope the options are interesting then
here they are
what the frick is that on the left? I kinda like it
your worst nightmare
I think they are enemies in one part of the trailer.
Oh man, it's gonna be either the bear or the horned fella for me.
>there are 5 characters to select
Single-player BDO without its character creator? That's kinda lame...
You can create a character for multiplayer
looks kino af ngl
gib guardian gf

The fact they didn't show the female characters in a western presentation is a godd sign. Means there will be plently of coom around.
It sure as frick looks good. I like how your armor changes and you can wear full helmets as well. The fact that it is a singleplayer RPG has me sold 10x over

Genuine question: why can’t Koreans make good mmos?
fricking no one can anymore
BDO is one of the best MMOs on the market.
And it's still garbage.
It definitely looks incredible. It has that dragon's dogma vibe to it. Cautiously hyped.
Does it have an endgame?
So how are they going to ruin it to extract thousands of dollars every month from whales?
it's just one large muslim romance simulator
>log back in
>no idea what the frick I'm doing
aw shit, here we go again

Main character looks like the guy from Hunt down the Freeman.
i like how it has a fantasy medieval setting without blacks all over the place
I like that they're including black people in their fantasy universe
*not
>fantasy worlds should only have white people because I said so
