Been playing Godherja and LOTR mostly. Only problem with LOTR is the map is too small and it's taken them over half a year to add Elves (which still aren't in). Godherja is fun but the lead dev turned into a troon this month sadly.

Gay accepted religious doctrine is forced. They literally removed shunned/criminal from the game so you can't even add it in religious reformation. Their justification for it is very flimsy (PCs in the games can marry anyone regardless of character gender, therefore everyone in Tamriel can too).
More importantly, everyone except Orcs runs equal inheritance when the AI blatantly can't handle it.

Anyone know how to get mods to run on a pirated copy? Can't launch the launcher it seems to be missing.
You can start the game without launcher by just using the executable in the folder.
For mods, use Irony mod manager, it doesn't discern pirate/legit copies. Gonna need to put your mods set up yourself but it's not that hard

I think Paradox gave the devs early access or something as a way of promoting the IP, since the mod was in a (comparatively) really good state almost immediately after CKIII launched.

Elder Kings 2 has been fun. Keep switching to a new character/race after uniting a certain region/kingdom with the previous one.
The only mods that are worth an install are the community mods for historicity modpack.
EK2 is unplayable due to the equal inheritance. It breaks my attempts at immersing myself.
Haven't tried other overhaul mods since they don't look interesting, unlike agot3 and ate3
Have you tried out the most based EK2 modder Vert's Unbound submod? It lets you change gender preference laws (which include inheritance) along with reactivating homosexuality acceptance doctrines and letting you ban it.

Yes. Every single nation has equal inheritance, despite it not being based anywhere on the lore.

I think that has to be a technical limitation or something though, Rikke's a woman and she's Tullius' second in command, and there's that imperial veteran woman in Dawnstar that gets put in as jarl if the imperials take the city.
AFAIK imperials are the only faction with all-male troops.
Forsworn, Bandits, Stormcloaks, and Aldmeri all have male and female units.
There's female generals like the ones you mentioned and the one in the tutorial dungeon, but it seems deliberate.

I am still of the opinion that it was orginally intended to be male-preference succession for most Elder Scrolls realms because most rulers were male in the Lore.
It wasn't explicity written anywhere though, so this meant due to IRL cultural change that it's all equal succession now even though there is a big gender imbalance in favour of males.
Sucession in Cyrodiil is by no way equal, what happened here is that you looked at some wiki list and didnt bother reading it further, the female empress we have detailed accounts are either the only living relative of the former Emperor, or, the only child of one, of course, not counting exceptional people like Katariah Septim, the dark elf one. We can further debate the other holds succession, take a look at the First Empire of the Nords, all male, the second shit hit the fan and they got pushed back to Skyrim there was one female High King, who spent all her reign fighting rebellions against her, and lets not forget abou the second High Queen, whose election split Skyrim in two. You know nothing about Elder Scrolls lore, stop mass replying to people and shiting out incorrent and misleading arguments.

There is nothing that says so in the lore and vast majority of landed title holding characters are men, which implies that succession laws prefers men, but still allows women.
Curiously, it also allows wifes to to inherit titles from their husbands, since their are at least two examples of this happening in the games themselves.

AtE for CK3 sucks. Other than the gay coding religion, gay Muslims, and gay whatever else religions that you'll hear everyone else complaining about its got other problems.
The biggest of these are the lack of events and decisions. Despite spending all that time making the thing just like regular CK3 it falls flat without any events, plus all the unique decisions like forming Deseret or Pennsylvania aren't in the game.
Next I think the scale was a mistake, not only in covering the North and South America but even all the new cultures. Because of the new size of the map they had more room for stuff, meaning new independant cultures right? Well it makes their previous hypothetical cultures blander. Now (for example) the Maritimes are split between a Gaelic culture and an English Maritimer culture, in CK2 those were one culture and a cool example of these weird cultural fusions in the 2600s. Plus the Ck3 language heritage system makes it a mess, Maine and the Maritimes are now two completely different cultures instead of being somewhat related. They removed some others too, but mostly all the splitting is what hurts it.
I also miss the references, like some are still in, but most of them are gone, like no Stoklasa dynasty of Milwakee, no de Avonlea in PEI, no Morgana le Fay with Lancelot, Edward Kaiser is like a generic and compassionate character. I think a majority of places lack ducal flags too but I don't remember.
If you have ck3 there's no reason not to check it out, it just gets boring fast.

No, the mods trying to do that all floundered. That being said I always found the average quality of the writing in Dark World to be terrible.
The only impressive CK3 lewd mod so far is Character Body Overhaul and its related mods, and they're strictly for nudity and sex scenes with the character models (and for large booba and extreme body proportions depending on which submods you use)

It is but look at what Paradox gave them to work with. If you're not doing a total conversion with your own added systems there's not much point. On that note Paradox tend to completely rewrite how modding shit works every patch so modders go fed up with that too.
They were going well early on but a lot seemingly aren't getting updated anymore. The game was too shit for too long and modders lost interest I guess. There was a great succubus mod in development but I think it's been a year since anything was added to it.
Carnalitas with the character body overhaul is nice. You just need an additional mod to prettify the female characters.

Any good base game or historical overhauls? I imagine I'll just have to install Sinews of War again. Crazy that I haven't played in half a year and the base game has not changed in any meaningful way. "they'll fix it with DLC" can't even be used as an excuse anymore. They just release these barebones shitpiles and sell 20 dollar cosmetics packs, with an extra menu slapped on at best.

the court dlc was so disappointing, and I didn't expect anything from it since I bought the season pass on launch and essentially didn't have to pay for it. they should've just made a sort of artsy combination of 2D backgrounds with 3D assets and added for the saved 3D costs a huge variety of items, fluff and visuals...
now every mod is bogged down in developing shitty 3D assets like game studios who suddenly have to hire thrice the amount of artists for no game after they adopt a new, more cumbersome art style.

Changelog included. It's a submod for Open Beta 6, so if they release an update in the near future it probably won't work with that. Especially with the upcoming Christianity changes.

One of my weirdly favorite runs in the original was as Mad Lady Lothston. My heir was a bawd of a warrior and I played her as one. Married a Tully, got a Valyrian steel sword I forged into Passion, rebuilt Harrenhall, and conquered the Riverlands. It was really fun.

I made a mistake by starting EK2 with a vampire character and switching out to one of his descendants later. The dynasty has 1500 living members (architected ancestry with fecund) and the game is having weird lag spikes.
Honestly I've enjoyed after the end. I love althistory about America and it just kinda scratches an itch I had for that kind of shit. I personally don't mind the nativewank as much (I can see how it can be annoying tho) and I like a lot of the religions for how stupid they are (i.e. Gnarlist, Viking, Earthvault, etc). My big problems are how unstable the mod even after all this time and the complete lack of anything relating to the Confederacy. I know they don't wanna do any racial shit but you can't NOT have the CSA when they have an option to reform the US. Why does nobody ever talk about The Fallen Eagle? It's excellent. I had a great run playing the 406 AD submod bookmark as the Alans crossing the Rhine. I had a blast setting up a kingdom in Hispania and dealing with all the other barbarians and Romans as the west collapsed.
Fallen Eagle is the reason CK3 is installed in my deck. Wonderful mod, Paradox should learn from them.

Having played the Battle for Middle Earth (the RTS game) I just really want to remake Angmar as a Black Numenorian kingdom, expand to that bay area north of Arnor and then become not-vikings.

Kuei Jin are actually a lot of fun to play as, their unique mechanics are neat and if you go down the chi arts path you can bring back dead mortals as wraiths to serve you which is cool. They also don't give a frick about the masquerade and imo have way better duchy buildings

I've had a lot of fun with Patriarch Roger of the North Star. Bro has insane diplomacy (32+ at start depending on traits) so you can vassalize almost every Viking ruler with some effort. Barracuda Jorge of Baja Norte is also fun since you have to fend off Baja Sur and break away from California, and Chieftess Line of Svalbard is fun for forming the Empire of Nunangat as a culture that isn't Inuit

And where's Realm Divide? From Shogun 2, where every faction remaining on the map turns against you after you reach a certain size, except for a few key allies you really invested into. Once you become the biggest blob on the map in this game, there's nothing left. No one can challenge you, even if you somehow lost your 50k levies in a war they'd be back within 5 years and it cost you nothing.

Catholic Poland and pagan Lithuania had alliances against Teutonic Order, and sometimes they would switch up and Teutonic Order would help some Lithuanian pretender, while pagan Lithuania also had orthodox Christian subjects and allies too.
If anything CK can't do justice properly enough with how alliances and coalitions can and did form historically.

I wonder what the LOTR mod will make of the last update and DLC. Maybe they'll just do a quick compatibility patch, but there seems to be a lot of potential for activities.
Feasts, hunts, weddings and tours are pretty straightforward, although they'll probably get creative with the animals that can be hunted, but pilgrimages and tournaments might be trickier if they want them to fit into the setting.
And beyond that, I remember them being very interested in implementing sailing events even before activities were revealed as an upcoming thing, I'm wondering whether they might turn pilgrimages or tours into a sailing/exploring activity or something.

as far as I can tell it's either converting directly to it or MAYBE an event at some point. In a couple of my games Sol Invictus showed up but I was only observing so idk if it happened through an event or not. Prolly safest to say that you're gonna need to convert to it yourself for however much piety it takes

Anyone got a barebones execution mod? Nothing game changing or anything. I just want the flavor of being able to choose the execution method.
Better Executions does that but it also changes gameplay (different execution methods produce more dread, stresse etc.).
Vanilla is just really unsatisfying in that regard. Like, this one dirty peasant revolt leader who thought he could rebel against me just gets beheaded most of the time, or maybe hanged. Seems pretty tame if you ask me. Like, this little fricker should get fricking broken on the wheel for his insolence. On the other hand, some poor noble's son whom I have to kill and who hasn't done anything wrong, he's just born to the wrong lineage, I think he deserves a swift death and not being burned alive and shit.

Why?
Because it is a comical over simplification.
For one, it is house feud rather than dynasty feud. And those are everyone in both houses going at it. If there are 100+ people in the house spread across the world, such a thing would draw them all in and greatly impact their AI even if it is some random jackass. A personal feud perhaps, but a house feud 100% of the time with a wrathful son? Nonsense.
But more importantly, there are other factors at play. What if I hate my father or want to bump him off to get the throne? Why would I trigger an entire house feud in that case? A system where it causes a penalty which CAN spark a rivalry and CAN potentially lead to a house feud if things escalate is going to be the better handling of it.

With the 3 Roman policies (Military, Civic & Diplo) how do you keep Civic (the admin one) from collapsing as Honorius?
Mil and Diplo are fairly easy. Big/good army and good relations with vassals. The Civic one just burns out at -400 a year sometimes. I've read online to build stuff but that doesn't do shit. The suggestions in the pop-up are completely unhelpful and tell me nothing.
Open up the script values in the mod folder and look at what things boost it and what lowers it.
Build a shit ton of buildings using all of that gold to keep development as high as possible. Feed the proles their bread and circuses.

Anyone else have an issue with Fallen Eagle in which eventually the game hits a point where it crashes no matter what on a specific day? Reloading does nothing, it will crash on the same day. Multiple games, same issue, different dates of crash for different saves but inevitable. Even in observe mode it eventually happens. Loading decades old saves seems to avoid that specific crash date but it returns eventually for a different day.
Have you tried save editing past that date?
I cry every time for Aetius. I've been enjoying a game as the Roxolani in TFE in the 361 bookmark. The problem is that despite impregnating the Empress and having my bastard son become Emperor after her, the united empire is still powerful as frick so there's no way I can migrate into it and take that rich land.

if it was a non-ironman game it should be near the top of the file it should just say like date=xxxx.xx.xx and you can just bump it like a month past the crash and see if that gets it past.

I just want more events and shit, like playing default CK3 with royal court and tours and tournaments I already know all the royal court events and the most interesting thing I ever saw in tournaments was finding a woman dressed as a man to participate in the tournament, because I was orthodox with Male only martial, she was a complete exception because my intent was Recruit for that tournament and I actually got a rare female knight in my court despite it being illegal, I guess she did the Mulan thing
but I really expected this game to be much more deep, I did culture reformation, had fun building up really strong men at arms like crossbowmen, I had fun doing accolades that made my archer even more to the point where I was decimating a 50,000 mongol invasion with only like 10,000 men at arms.
Where is all the fricking flavour? Random events and cool decisions that you dont see every playthrough

the approach they took with royal court and tours and tournaments just means that the game is not replayable, you're going to get sick of the canned events eventually. tours and tournaments is actually somehow even worse than royal court, I straight up stopped playing once I got the "lone moron knight challenges you to a duel" event while travelling the 5th time in one ruler's lifetime.

Anyone else restart constantly in the exact same place with the exact same playstyle but with slightly different mods?
I always play Anglo-Saxon pagan, conquer the British Isles and then restart after 100 or so years with some new gimmick installed. It's like Skyrim all over again. Make a new character, do quests for 20 levels and then restart with new mods.
Game needs more flavour when you've reached empire status, always lose interest when I get too powerful. More activities as well, make peacetime more interesting.
Literally fricking me, I do the same exact thing, the game really needs more flavour. But also try other ethnicities, play the Africans and be Mansa Musa frick all rich, become a Gigaisraelite or a mongol conqueror, it helps but it definitely reaches a point of stagnation because of the lack of flavour, Paradox needs to adress this
