"That extra sneaky bullet to dodge!" That's how I sum up the Cuphead DLC experience. If you forget about that additional thing that most of the bosses have, you're liable to take a hit! When I fought the chef, I tunneled on the shit he threw at me and then I'd only notice the flame sprite at the very last moment.
I like playing as Ms Chalice. This is going to sound like I'm shitposting, but her dash parry is like playing as Beck (Mighty No9) and I enjoyed it.

Yeah
I liked the dash parry too but it took a while to adjust without the jump parry.
Why is she so hot?
She isn't. You're just a maladjusted degenerate.
I didn't even know that phase exists
Or is this expert mode only?
You get it by not killing all the planes in the 2nd phase by a certain time.
I got it by accident and it was so much easier than the normal 3rd phase that it ended up being boring.
If you managed to get all of the jetpack dogs to low hp (gray smoke) the heli dog saves them and triggers a secret phase
wtf
Ms Chalice make fights against King Dice's minions easier but also make harder to parry things
Well balanced tbh
Thoughts?
Not a bad list, but is this list about just beating the level or S ranking it?
Just beating it
Expert version is actually way harder yeah
No she's just easy. First phase seems overwhelming at first but as long as you realize where the cactus-spitter is you'll be fine. And then the other phases are literally one attack each with a lot of parry points.
I think most of DLC's bosses weren't that difficult
I beat Saltbaker on my second try, unless the expert version is especially crazy I don't see why he'd be at the top.
Wouldn't put Wally that high, I'd replace him with Baroness Bon Bon because RNG in stage one and the chase phase is kinda awkward.
Frick the robot though, I'm still filtered by it to this day.
Chef's difficulty is frontloaded, get past the first phase and as long as you're familiar with the rest you'll be fine.
I've died an embarrassing amount of times to the heart phase on peashooter only runs
Did you first try Whinchester or something? No way you actually found her that easy
Crackshot is such a strong weapon, I wonder how long they'll take to nerf it. Also why does this game not have autoshooting?
I noticed how Cuphead bosses tend to have easier last phases compared to the first phases, so I made this list:
The Root Pack - Harder last phase
Goopy Le Grande - Easier last phase
Hilda Berg - Harder last phase
Ribby & Croaks - Harder last phase
Cagney Carnation - Easier last phase
Baroness von Bon Bon - Harder last phase
Beppi the Clown - Easier last phase
Djimmi the Great - Harder last phase
Wally Warbles - Easier last phase
Grim Matchstick - Harder last phase
Rumor Honeybottoms - Easier last phase
Captain Brineybeard - Harder last phase
Werner Werman - Easier last phase
Dr. Kahl's Robot - Easier last phase
Cala Maria - Easier last phase
Sally Stageplay - Easier last phase
Phantom Express - Easier last phase
King Dice - Easier last phase
The Devil - Easier last phase
Moonshine Mob - Harder last phase
Esther Winchester - Easier last phase
The Howling Aces - Harder last phase
Mortimer Freeze - Harder last phase
Glumstone Giant - Easier last phase
Chef Saltbaker - Easier last phase
Count:
10 harder
15 easier
It feels like a lot of the game is just repeating the first phase until I can make it through with no damage. I usually just reset if I get hit once or twice quickly.
The old bosses were worse about that. The candy queen's jellybeans, the two birds who shoot pills that split in half, and pretty much the entire robot boss. All the little nasty things in the DLC bosses tended to be something you could either prepare for or take out early, like concentrating on killing the horse flies during the cow boss, and the snow golem gives you lots of time to react to the popsicles coming in.
