yeah its development was a complete shitshow
this'll probably be the last update the game gets though, since they're abandoning the engine for UE5; no point adding features to something they're never touching again

Its a pity they are going to the generic Unreal engine when Cyberpunk looked better than any game on that piece of trash.

              Anonymous

CDPR got too big, it's that simple.
Moving to UE5 is more of a sound business/financial decision. It makes more sense for everyone to learn it, use it, with offloaded technical support they can call up if needed, and not having to write totally new things from scratch everywhere.

For a big studio it makes sense.
That's part of the reason why these big studios always end up looking like the same faceless corporation as the next. CDPR is well on their way to being another DICE, Ubisoft, etc.

Bioshock is an immersive sim and Deus Ex isn't? Lmao

Double jump already trivialises 99% of the games difficulty based on terrain and obstacles because all you have to do is find a 1 pixel ledge to get anywhere. Wall running is harmless.

        >more clothes, more gigs, more cyberware and why not more enemies and bosses
No we just need shit fixed.
ATM the crafted weapons dont go on the wall in the apartment.
The crafting section is messy, meeds tidying like iconic quickhacks and iconic weapons in a different section.
Need to be able to favourite vehicles.
        Need a higher difficulty.
Need to be able to just buy crafting materials.
Need cyberware and crafted weapons to have the better stats. Current stat pool RNG for cyberware is fricked and to get the best weapon rolls is just RNG drops from enemies. We should be able to craft that shit or buy it ourselves.
Merchants are near useless because of this homosexualry.

          >The crafting section is messy, meeds tidying like iconic quickhacks and iconic weapons in a different section.
honestly, game never should've had crafting in the first place. they axed a bunch of it with 2.0.

            Anonymous

            >they axed a bunch of it with 2.0.
Not at all. As a tech/netrunner I like crafting. Crafted weapons should always be more OP than shit you find off mook enemies.
What they did with the 2.0 update is make crafting universal to all builds (but you still gimp yourself if you dont put points in tech because cyberware capacity) but the highest level crafted or bought weapons do not drop all the empty mod slots.
So the game became a grind for crafting materials to upgrade your iconic and cyberware, but the cyberware stat pools are RNG and broken as frick, iconics are often weaker than the better generic weapons (except iconic unique buffs) and to get the best generic weapons with all mod slots open and empty (because you cannot take mods off any more) they are all RNG dropped from enemies.
Making crafting or buying the high level weapons useless.
It should be crafting the high level weapons create the guns with all and empty mod slots and the ones you get from enemies are generic shit you decon for craft mats, and/or sell and be able to buy craft mats from merchants.
With 2.0 they made the game into a hunt for craft mats. It is moronic.

How about before adding this superfluous shit you add basic functionality like being able to see how many rounds a guns magazine holds without needing to equip the fricking thing first.

        Anonymous

This isn't a feature in many games because it doesn't make logical sense. You need to hold a weapon and eject a magazine to make even a rough guess at how many rounds you have left. At the very least you need a magazine with a window or an indicator. This is such a weird gripe. You seem like you've never actually fired a gun, before. Did you want a party window, like pokemon where you can see all of your guns' HP? Who the frick even puts away their gun, half-loaded? You're either full or empty. What the frick kind of zoomer doom spastic gaming do you do? Dual wield is way more rational to add. You're insane. I've never played the game, lol.

          wow you're stupid
he means he wants to look at how many shots a gun can hold so he can compare it to another gun and see how many shots it holds while in the menu. the only way to do so would be to equip both guns and then go into the game world and pull the gun out so that the UI pops up and says how many shots you have in your current magazine. that is dumb and it should just be another stat you can look at in the menu like the other totally not useless stats

              >Bioshock, Hitman
              moron.
Dudesex IS an immersive sim, maybe you should play it more than once.
Bioshock is NOT an immersive sim its a FPS with illusion of choice that gives you 1 or 2 endings (BaS2 is immersive sim like forllowing thief gameplay) and while I can understand if you do not know what an im-sim is you would think hitman is one, but in fact hitman is a completely scripted game where there are only definitive outcomes and hand crafted scripted ways to kill teh target.

CP2077 level design in stuff like the gigs are more immersive sim than bioshock or hitman combined. There are multiple entry and exit points, multiple ways to complete the mission and multiple build and tools you can use.
Still not immersive sim though, just RPG with immersive sim level designs. Very good ones at that.

      >Or can you simply just tackle every encounter the same way every time?
that's what i did. i got good at bunny hoppy around while using a pistol, sniper, and knives.

      Anonymous

      Not very.
Most builds devolve into slow-motion spam and mulching through the braindead and trivial enemies. I played on hard mode and got bored about 20 hours in and stopped playing. I reset my skill tree multiple times to try different weapon builds, but they're all sort of overpowered and samey.
The weapons are well done and feel good to use, but it's just so mind-numbingly boring mulching through generic gang members that are close to zero threat to you after 5 hours of playing.
Double jump and bunny hopping becomes the standard movement, and while it is fun, it provides no benefit to exploring or anything at all besides making you too lazy to use the vehicles because you can bunny hop and air dash to get to your destination just as fast.

I wish I could have beaten it, because the world is so well made and I love everything about it, but jesus christ is it boring as frick.

        Anonymous

3rd person isn't janky in games like this though. We have had literal decades of 3rd person games like this one. Even Witcher 2 and 3 allowed third person views, and photomode in cyberpunk handles camera movement within the environment pretty well.

The only reason 3rd person view sucks in the game (if you enable with mods) is because there's no proper animations for it and the player model is badly warped, missing the head, and things don't render properly on you.

          Anonymous

Yeah man there's totally never been a open world city game featuring third person.

No, its not janky in open world games, its janky in cyberpunk 2077 - the game is made for first person and it can be janky already, with slipping and sliding over items, clipping etc. I have no confidence whatsoever they would be able to make it good in third person. Not with the the above plus the fast-paced combat. Forget about it.

            Anonymous

Maybe if they designed the game to have the camera swappable between first and third person from the get go then it wouldn't be so bad. The compromise they made with the photo mode felt half-assed.

People just actually played the game instead of listening to morons tell them what the game is like

Turns out (this is crazy I know) the people relentlessly shitting on the game weren't being entirely honest about it, and made mountains out of molehills. The thing harped on by far the most of all was that the game is a buggy mess - and yet not only is that actually not a big problem the game has (ten minutes with baldur's gate 3 or starfield and you'll already encounter twice as many bugs as cyberpunk) but there's genuinely a bunch of obvious issues that should have been #1 comments by people shitting on the game if they had actually played it themselves and knew anything at all about what they were talking about.

All we're seeing now is that people are playing it, discovering ok, it's got some issues, but it's still fun to play, and the spergs (like you) now having meltdowns attributing this change of heart by people to "the anime" and "the engoodening" and not simply the fact you asshat morons have been relentlessly spewing bullshit out of your ass for 3 years straight turning your hatred of the game into some kind a cult and personality trait rather than an actual criticism of what it does wrong.

the game sucks, they lied about what the game would be, the game ran awful.
they pretty much had millions of people do early access funding for their game to finish development on it without explicitly saying so.
this is why people shit on it, because the devs really fricked up and fricked over people that were actually excited and interested in the game and only care about the big bucks that moronic normalgays would shower them with because of the advertisements, celebrity mocaps, and youtubers going "THIS'LL BE THE BEST GAME EVER"

It ran fine for me on release other than needing to upgrade my graphics card drivers to fix the background in the distance appearing while in the car ride with Dex. The bugs encountered were similar to the many webms posted before but nothing gamebreaking.

The game really doesn't run awful at all

With max graphics and no raytracing I get 140ish fps on a 3060
With psycho raytracing its 40-50 fps
          With pathtracing 15-20fps

You're really proving the case that you don't know wtf you're talking about. This game is actually pretty well optimized considering how it looks.

          I agree with
          >people shitting on the game have never even played it
because you people keep pulling shit like this out of your ass when it's very clearly not an actual issue with the game. The actual issues are more like game design choices and clear lack of followthrough/time, not bugs and performance.

congrats on having the proper hardware that they optimized for.
that doesn't negate everyone else's problems they had with the game and they admitted that they had to be fixed and better optimized, so stop acting like your experience was the actual real experience and that everyone else is lying to make your game seem worse.

even after being "fixed", the actual game was mid. there were some enjoyable moments and after seeing how Starfield came out, I appreciate their open world more than I originally did. 7/10. never paid for it, never will.

First major exposure to CDPR's incompetent management that was mentioned by former employees in the past. They acted like all the criticism they got over the launch of the game was unjust when it was bad enough that Sony had to pull the game from their stores. They only passed the cert from Sony because CDPR promised them that their day one patch would fix the glaring performance issues found in the game.

No because actual people never hated the game.
This is because shazamgays are a lesser form of life, not human, ergo, don't count.

NG+ wouldn't really make sense considering the games endings.

NG+ doesn't have to make sense. Witcher 3's NG+ didn't make sense either, but it got added.

    >still the same bugs from launch
    >still same jank gameplay
It's like Skyrim. No matter how many mods and shit they add, it's still flawee at its core.

About 99% of popular Nexus mods for CP2077 are clothing and pose mods for the photomode anyway.

could say the same for skyrim
people like sex and playing dressup

most of the gameplay overhaul mods are also dead since the PL update massively improved the skills/combat mechanics and obviously it's good enough at this point nobody's felt like trying to revive those mods or make further improvements.

It didn't have them until years after it came out though. I must've played it about 2-3 years after release and loverslab was only just starting to get proper coomer mods (that barely worked and largely weren't worth it)

I'd say it wasn't good as a sexo game until 5 years after launch but that might just be my hazy memory

      >same bugs from launch
I didn't experience any so far. While on my last playthrough at this point i had probably seen a dozen to two.
      >same jank
I find the combat never was too bad, sure the ai could be a bit smarter with their placement and decisions. It isn't amazing but it's not boring either.

There's just no way they'll be able to go back to this planned design for the sequel, I know it. The seniors at the company that were planning the game quit after the Witcher 3 team joined and the company began full development on Cyberpunk. Judging by Phantom Liberty, they'll be sticking with this cinematic narrative design.

      >dev conference years before the game is even in production (whats known as preproduction when you're throwing ideas at a wall and planning the game out)
      >dev conference so it's not even marketing or PR it's just a talk with other devs
      >Just a list of design goals and desires for the game because the game doesn't even exist yet

This is the kind of sensationalist garbage shitposting that makes it clear you're dealing with someone who turned hating this game into a personality trait and shitposting pasttime. You're like some deranged moron lashing out about trump at this point.
