>you will play as an ugly lesbian with a penis goyim
Obsessed
>Stop noticing things
troony lingo, have a nice day homosexual mutilated monster
Obsessed.
>ugly
only if you play default
>lesbian
best option for female characters
>with a penis
only if you attach it like a gay.
No, I will play as a stacked street kid who loves net running.
actually i will play as an aryan gigachad (like me irl)
im glad i finally get to play cyberpunk again but this time its the way the devs intended, no problem i have to buy it again, since im rich
Is the male body that feminine or something??
nah, dude has that swim bod. Would have been nice to have a stronger or weaker model though. Getting mods to work is annoying.
>Bugs are mostly fixed
>Roleplaying is still incredibly shallow with a completely dissonant voiced protagonist that breaks immersion
>The story feels like 4 different unfinished scripts stapled together
>Gear and upgrades are the most inconsequential skinnerbox skilltree horseshit shit with no meaningful tradeoffs.
No thanks. The bugs were the least of that games issues.
I wish they saved the simplified skill tree for the sequel. Launch and 2.0 are essentially different games gameplay wise.
Not sure why you call it simplified, the skill tree is flat out better with more viable builds now
What does it change? I beat it on launch and have absolutely zero desire to ever play the piece of shit again. The skill trees were absolutely absurd with the game acting like it was so deep by offering +2 damage from long rifles against armored enemies or whatever. Just pointless number wanking to make normies feel like they're playing a real RPG and making choices.
>What does it change?
There's less skill tree options but each one has more meaningful changes.
new skill tree actually changes how you play and unlocks more gameplay options. my only gripe is the fact that enemies now level with you, but game in hand it's not as bad as it sound. there's also a lot of small additions here and there.
the dlc is also really good
>Dissonant voiced protagonist breaking immersion
Do you always pseud this hard, or is it more of a one off thing?
What about my statement is psued shit? You have dialogue choices presented to you, and more often than not, V's voice acting says something that completely clashes with your selected dialogue. Its dissonant, what's so hard to understand about that?
This is interesting, game actually made me pull out a dictionary to make sure I understood standardized definitions. There are many inconsistencies.
I never really felt that myself, though to be fair I've only done one playthrough of the game as corpo V.
Nah, it’s kinda true. The corpo background story, for example, is supposedly one of a rich, or at least middle class guy/girl, with a proper education and upbringing, but somehow he/she still talks like a ghetto Black person. It’s jarring and immersion breaking.
male v is so fricking gay holy shit i hate his voice
he sounds like a tryhard posing instead of the confident and cold corpo executor i want to play as
He reminds me of Jesse from Breaking Bad.
Come on, Todd, you'll win your GOTY next time. It's time to stop being salty b***h.
I get complaining about the gear, but the skill tree is really damn cool for all 5 attributes. You get cool skills from every tree.
Also the game isn't really an RPG to self insert with. V is a character with for the most part definited traits, just a few variations depending on life path.
>isn't really an RPG to self insert with
what do you mean, it's totally a mature rpg with advanced rpg mechanics :^)
I said it's not an RPG to self insert with.
Not every RPG requires self inserting.
Heck even RPGs with full on character customization and far more differences in choice outcomes aren't necessarily about self inserting. You can create a character that's entirely something different from you.
if you can't self-insert to some degree (which is to say at the very least, make choices that you yourself [or more importantly, a created character] would make), then it's a shit roleplaying game
cyberpunk fails that test because, outside of picking an ending, nothing you do matters
everything else proceeds the exact same for every player
the sinner man shit where you can choose to kill vasquez and skip the questline
and that's about the entire size of freedom of roleplay available
some characters won't appear if you kill others. There are some branching paths, but at the end it comes together the same way no matter your decision. I bet someone thought that was cool and realistic, because life is like that. But it's not. In a video game you want to see things exaggerated.
>then it's a shit roleplaying game
Some of the best RPGs out there have defined main characters/cast instead of a self insert MC.
Besides, you're arguing for RPG elements at a plot level. What about at a mechanic/gameplay level?
Each V can be vastly different in that sense.
You're just focusing on a single aspect of RPGs and complaining it's not present. Which is a fair criticism, but it's also reductive.
>What about at a mechanic/gameplay level?
completely fricking meaningless
it boils down to this
>come across problem
>for example a door
>have high tech
>can use it to open the door
>don't have high tech
>can just walk around, break a window, and enter
>apply to any other physical barrier
>if you can't do it x way, there's always an alternative that requires no skill investment
dialogues
>most skill dialogue checks are just blue ones (which is a good thing because it's the closest they actually come to roleplay except blue dialogue never means anything outside of the suicidal cop quest)
>if it's relevant to a quest, dialogue means absolutely nothing because, again, there's always an alternative that requires no skill investment
the only relevance your build has to roleplay is offering shortcuts, you are almost never locked out of content for building any particular way because there's always a way around it which means your build has absolutely no stakes and makes it worthless
the only exceptions are sinner man shit mentioned above and that vending machine side quest where a body check can lock you out
>>if you can't do it x way, there's always an alternative that requires no skill investment
Yes, but the result is always different.
Different points of entry means different approach.
And besides, what about just playing the game in general.
The game's not gonna be the same if you're running a blade build vs if you're doing a sniper build. It plays different. Vastly so. That's still RPG mechanics.
different approach doesn't matter if the results always going to be the same
what part of this are you struggling to grasp?
>results always going to be the same
Okay, but what about the fact it's LITERALLY different approach. Are you simply ignoring that the end result is just one expect of actually playing through the missions/game?
>it's LITERALLY different approach.
pic related, it doesn't matter
if all roads end on the same path then there's no point trying to take a different one
yes yes different approach but there's nothing unique about them
opening a door with a tech check or a body check and opening that same door by jumping through a window is not roleplay
there is no grander effect stemming from that sort of thing
I already did, you had no retort except insults
How about trying an argument other than making your own private definition of a word that nobody else in the entire world agrees with?
>your argument
>my game from 1986 is the standard for roleplay!
>my argument
>the tabletop game from 1974 (that actually established a standard for roleplay) is the standard for roleplay
you're the one trying to argue definitions
if you think choosing to open a door with a skill check vs opening it by jumping through a window is riveting roleplay, I can't help you
doubling down on your shitty definition doesn't really make you look all that smart. Even less so when your definition is made for an entirely different medium than the one being talked about.
>shitty definition
here I'll use your own argument
>is D&D not an RPG, by this logic? Answer the question, it's relevant, considering D&D was one of the first RPG games ever
where do you think the inspiration for DQ came from, exactly?
If you think killing the entire gig's worth of enemies using stealth and quickhacks vs going in the front door and time slow cutting them up vs staying at a distance and snipping all of them before they even realize it because you're using Overwatch isn't different I dunno what to tell you.
>there's no point trying to take a different one
The point is to fricking play in a different way
You're playing a video game. The end result is not the only factor that determines if something's defined an RPG.
by this logic, almost every DQ game isn't an RPG.
okay, who said anything about DQ games?
are DQ games not RPGs, by this logic? Answer the question, it's relevant, considering DQ1 was one of the first RPG games ever on console.
rpg simply means taking a character and growing it. most roguelikes are rpgs and yet they have only one ending and barely a plot.
why? because even choosing things like a class or talents or stat counts as "choices".
>lists a bunch of choices based on your build
i mean, isn't that... having choice? You just described Deus Ex
It's fine that Cyberpunk isn't a self-insert game. Deus Ex is like that too, since JC is a pre-established character and the plot follows along a mostly linear path due to the Unatco route being scrapped. But JC succeeds as an RPG protagonist and V fails as one. With JC, you can be largely consistent in his personality. He's always a cold, calculating weirdo, but that same weirdo can be empathetic and curious, lenient and torn between two ideologies, or a complete fascist authority figure who still abuses those around him even when he sides with the NSF.
V on the other hand is a schizophrenic mess and you just cannot even begin to play him as a consistent character. Oh, your V had a corporate background and is an agent for a mega corporation? Okay, how about V still talks like a street urchin and never once behaves in a manner that shows those roots, no matter your dialogue choices. I don't mind not being able to self-insert, but I do mind having to play a character that makes no sense and contradicts itself.
JC works as a voiced protagonist because he has a cold, unwavering demeanor that works well for all the dialogue responses. You can very easily slip into that character. But V, no matter how you play him, is a trash talking "shoot first ask questions later" moron street kid.
Even corpo V had ties to Jackie pre game and then spends 6 months living with him.
Some time passes between the events of corpo V losing their position and the game itself. And the flash forward clearly shows them getting sucked into the underbelly of NC. Not to mention the fact some of the corpo dialogue choices in the way their acted definitely demonstrate V tapping back into their corpo background. If not in behavior, at the very least in mindset and analysis of a situation.
>Bugs are mostly fixed
Not even close. Although the bugs that are there aren't game breaking.
V being voiced is the biggest issue the game has. I can't consider the game a roleplaying game just because of that.
Palyed it on release and the bugs were the only thing actually entertaining about this otherwise boring game
I also want to customize my weapons and cars. It does not even need to be a true personalization, just let us swap to other in-game models, is it that difficult?
what does it add though
I would guess it's just the base game + latest dlc everyone's shilling
Imagine still caring about this piece of shit game full of nothing but cut content and broken promises?
>1 SINGLE piece of fricking DLC because it flopped so terribly and the diversity hires at CDPReddit are now moving over to Unreal 5 because trannies can't into RedEngine
lol LMAO
didn't play it, don't give a shit about souls shit
>but they did it too!
doesn't make it better either
>Cyberjunk can't even be considered good enough to have a "GotY" edition
Lmao truly a game that will go down as nothing and be forgotten.
>Please buy our shit game!!?!!
Pathetic
Male V is way cooler as the cover art, also the better voice in game by far
what does being "ultimate" mean here? with Phantom Liberty included?
>ultimate edition for a single dlc
fricking lmao
>cuck endings
>cucked roleplay (because you can't roleplay lol!)
>cucked release that took several years to be half of what it promised to be
cybercucks get what they deserve
I'm buying it. I'm a homosexual.
Is that just game+dlc or are they adding something more?
>release update to fix your broken game
>re-release the physical edition because people will eat it up anyway
i'd be laughing if it wasn't so sad
TLoU2 is getting a remastered edition. Bro, some studios have no tricks left. This is the last one.
You'd think so, but they'll be releasing yet another version before you know it.
i wouldn't play it even if they send me a 4k TV, PS5 and a copy of CP2077 for FREE.
Why does cdpr cause such eternal seething from autists?
Because autists have played more RPGs than normies and subsequently have higher standards for a AAA $60 RPG that failed to deliver on the promises it made over a decade in development. Normies are happy with any old bullshit, and that's really true for any consumption-based medium like gaming. The deeper you're into it, the more picky you are.
Because youre okay with eating shit.
I dont care how autistic i am, i will NEVER be a shit eater like you trash.
>don't like a game
>you're seething!!!
I can tell there's not a whole lot going on upstairs
>Answer the question, it's relevant,
it really isn't considering I'm talking about cyberpunk
haven't played DQ, don't plan to because I don't play JRPGs
>rpg simply means taking a character and growing it
no, this is the braindead take on it
a roleplaying game is a game where you can create a unique character within the confines of the world
there's player agency, actions and consequences that affect the story or the world, not just your loot and level
>i mean, isn't that... having choice?
sure but you're conveniently ignoring the part where none of the choices matter because they don't actually do anything to effect how the story proceeds or the world around your character
>it really isn't considering I'm talking about cyberpunk
>haven't played DQ, don't plan to because I don't play JRPGs
Stop dodging the fricking question anon. By your own moronic logic that explains why Cyberpunk can't be a REAL RPG, then like almost every DQ game, the series that helped define the entire genre, can't also be a REAL RPG. Why do you think that, you moron?
how do you suppose a pass judgement on games I've never played? are you that dense?
do you have player agency in DQ? does making choosing route A prevent you from going route B or does it not matter which route you choose and everything still proceeds the same no matter what?
if the former, yes it's an rpg
if the latter, no, it's an action adventure game with rpg elements (like cyberpunk)
Why would anyone listen to someone like you who are insisting on using a definition that goes against 40+ years of gaming history?
D&D came out before DQ, it's a better standard for roleplay
>anyone listen to someone like you
are you so mindbroken that you feel compelled to? I don't give a shit who listens, posting on Ganker is talking into the void
Right. You just keep answering because you don't care. You are so fricking irony poisoned that your brain has broken.
I post because I can, not because I care
>your brain has broken.
t. absolutely seething with each reply but can't actually counter a single point
>I don't care but i am enjoying myself larping as the chad owning the incels
How does one counter a point to someone working in their own private world, entirely separate from the rest of reality? How does one counter someone who is constantly changing what words mean to make everything fit their own flat earth?
keep moving the goalposts man, I'm sure you'll have a real argument soon
reminder that this started with the discussion of roleplaying elements in a video game
How about you come up with an argument for how some of the biggest and most popular RPG series of all times, aren't actually rpgs.
Because this place is crawling with 3rd world Europoors, and the idea of a Polish studio becoming successful makes them fricking lose their minds, for some reason.
Where do you think you are?
I think a playthrough is worth it because Night City looks nice, Johnny is mostly entertaining and there's nothing downright bad.
That said, I bought it for 10 bucks used and I would give them 20 at most after all this time. Dunno about the DLC, not interested
Dogtown is like Downtown LA with more guns. Felt like I was at the Staples center. It's good shit.
they really retconnned male V out of all promotional material. they're pushing that ugly gypsy looking female V everywhere, even the e3 2018 fem V was better
Makes perfect sense. While the new female V looks terrible, her voice actress is so much better than the male one that no one should ever bother playing as him.
troony cope.
Male V for original and Female V for PL is pretty nice.
Just wish they'd made FemV a bit cuter.
The expansion fricking sucks
>Lie to the consumer
>Hold back review copies because you know it doesn't work
>Everyone just forgets
>They are now going to win an "ongoing game" award for getting the game in an acceptable state for release 3 years after launch
That is what happens when 90% of gamers can play through the bug ridden hellscape that is modern AAA games, while somehow managing to never once notice any of them.
I prefer it pre 2.0 tbh
>game at least attempted being a RPG
>skills were percentage increases which are better than stacking time slowing mechanics on top of each other
>had level scalling, you felt more powerful because you could actually complete a gig you couldn't 10 levels earlier
>story was not tainted by PL shit writing
nope, 2.0 fixed everything. doesn't deliver on original promises but is a much better game. PL is no worse than the original games writing either.
>yfw phase 2 kicks in
?t=136
I never cared about Songbird
If Poland ceased to exist, what aspects of society would suffer?
Alcoholism, wife-beating, suicide and those dodgy-looking sausages
I'm gonna go get lunch now but little schizo boy, I want you to sit back and reflect on the hour of your life you just spent here and ask yourself if it was worth it
Games great, probably my most played single player in the last like 20 years
This edition of the game is just a price drop for people who didn't bother to play the base game because its still something like 70 dollars without a sale.
I liked Johnny.
>troony edition
>still full priced
hard pass, not even pirating
