That’s not deus ex
it is more Deus Ex than DX ever was cope
Pretty mid bait ngl frfr
Deus Ex is about a design philosophy, not about its actual raw included content, story, writing or dialogue. Mankind Divided adheres better to Warren Spector's design philosophy than Deus Ex 1 was capable of. Cope.
Mankind Divided does what the whole point of Deus Ex was better than Deus Ex 1 did. In fact, some aspects of Deus Ex 1 are directly the opposite of what Warren Spector wanted. "The depth of an ocean with the width of a pond" -and then you have multiple city hubs with almost nothing in them. A campaign that outstays its welcome stretching the story and devolving into barren and bland levels that were obviously forced instead of inspired.
Divided does what the whole point of Deus Ex was better than Deus Ex 1 did
come on son
If you don't agree with that statement, you don't understand what Deus Ex was always supposed to be. You like the first game for the wrong reasons, and that's why you don't see the improvements of the newer games that did certain things for the right reasons.
Because Squeenix blew their load with the Deux Ex Universe project by getting a bunch of shitty books and comics made, realised nobody was THAT invested in Adam Jensen, then abruptly threw it all away and put DX onto "indefinite hiatus" until selling Eidos Montreal to Embracer Group
> realised nobody was THAT invested in Adam Jensen
well i mean no one exactly cares about Denton either aside from some nostalgiagays but overall Adam has quite the following and is an actual character and not just a blank state for player to RP with.
I think people love Jensen as a character, but the problem is that being a prequel the Deus Ex universe had hardly even got interesting yet. The Augment apartheid stuff is not really that deep.
it is plenty interesting if you have the attention span to read through the many cool notes/e-books/e-mails but i guess it filtered most of people, hell people missed that the whole ''racism allegory to augs'' is literally an in-game psy-op but they went screaming ''sjw'' game.
most people got filtered so hard they still think the main narrative was about those -biggoted chud apartheid racists for no reason-. When in game lore it is pretty clearly stated what kind of destruction the rampaging agus inflicted in such a short time. Dubai as seen in game is a completely abandoned city with almost everybody of it pre frenzy inhabitants dead
concentration camps like the aug ghetto is a milky toast moderate response to the half machines after that
>i guess it filtered most of people
I'm going to copy and paste this post I made yesterday cause I'm lazy:
A lot of Anons say people got filtered and didn't catch this, but the way it's portrayed in-game is piss poor. While I acknowledge this plot point is in in the game, in the end the game's themes aren't so much about "how people can be influenced to be racist" but simply about racism in general which is much less fitting theme for the series and not as interesting. For it to be about psyops, the game would actually need to say something about it, which it doesn't, but it has many, many things to say about racism.
Honestly I might steal the idea and do something with it for my own game, some kinda theme about how society is being divided on purpose as a means of distraction. It's a good theme to work with.
>For it to be about psyops, the game would actually need to say something about it,
It did. He's right, just because you missed it doesn't make your interpretation correct.
>It did
What did it say about psyops besides the fact that one is happening in the DX universe? Please point me to them because if I really was filtered hard I'd love to know.
>racism in general which is much less fitting theme for the series and not as interesting.
This right here betrays your biases. You hate the way MD did it because you're probably racist yourself and fail to see irl psyops
>You hate the way MD did it because you're probably racist yourself
lol, lmao
I mean I liked it for what it was, but I just wanted them to get more into the real meaty stuff leading up to the first game instead of dancing around hinting at stuff. It wouldn't have been so bad if Mankind Divided was more self contained or they made a sequel sooner, but neither of that happened so the story basically ends on a cliffhanger. At least the next game whenever that happens will probably make things better.
Would be based. I like the DX universe more than Cyberpunk. I just hope it wouldn't be about Jensen again. I want it to be about an augmented girl in Tokyo.
but why would a girl in Tokyo be interested in the Illuminati?
>download our app!
>scan the triangles!
>bonus content!
Seriously now. I think one of the devs had to upload the bonus crap somewhere for free because the app is long gone.
Yeah this shit single-handly ruined Mankind Divided's reputation. Which is a shame because if it wasn't for the moronic app/preorder bonuses/season pass the game would have been regarded much better.
Don't forget wasting dev time and money on multiplayer nobody asked for.
Thanks Square.
Would OG Deus Ex work better as a live action TV series or animated series? I can definitely see a TV series that has 13 hour long episodes (since the game has 13 missions), but multi part animated series would also work.
honestly i don't think they would make it to TV show or something like that if only because of the ''muh man made virus that was made by the same people that make the vaccine'' plot that would anger NPCs.
Never understood this comparison.
In DX they purposely withhold the vaccine so that the virus would wreck havoc. This didn't happen with covid.
It's not even a vaccine, it's just a regular post-infection treatment.
The goal was the same though. With the covaxx the goal is to install the necessary components (graphene and others) for future nanobots controlled via wifi. In Deus Ex the point of making Humanity suffer first was to convince people to accept nanobot augmentations. The game devs didn't believe people would be so stupid and eager to join the hivemind cyborg agenda as they actually have been since covid and onwards. The devs thought people would ask questions and raise concerns, while in reality people juat followed vapid propaganda with covid.
there were plans to adapt deus ex to a movie, both the original (which according to warren had a great script) and human revolution, but neither of them panned out
honestly i'd rather not see any more deus ex media besides games. square's deus ex universe bullshit gave me weird vibes like they were trying to hard to milk it, it's a pretty good setting with lots of potential but i don't think the modern games' writing is so good it can support a huge universe with books and comics.
oh yeah the Human Revolution script was like 1:1 as the game.
i can see that working, just add some tense sneaking/combat bits between plot beats and you got a decent action movie that's smarter than most of the slop being released today
A better question to this, and all questions like it, is why in the name of fricking god would you even want one to begin with.
The anime was decent. Idk about the game but the anime was good enough that I'll probably end up giving it a spin when it's on sale despite all the hate it gets here.
Deus Ex anime would be cool I guess. The OG though, not the embarrassing new games.
sucks to have a shit taste
>Deus slop
And who would pay for it?
CP2077 anime is just a part of marketing campaign.
>CDPR asked
>Edios Montreal didn't
simple as that
>All we get are some dlc posters
Fricking hate how badly this franchise has been mismanaged.
I was excited to see that woman from the DLC poster before starting system rift. Then I actually saw her ingame model.
Alex Vega is the same, she looked better before her awful appearance in MD. Doesn't help that she was boring as frick, meanwhile I still remember Pritchard fondly
Deus Ex reboot setting is bland and uninspired
Cyberpunk setting is kino
>reboot
mankind divided has a beautiful setting, definitely not bland
I want more Deus Ex novels.
there are good ones?
I'm not so caught up on the whole good or bad aspect, but I would just like to have more small stories to expand the world I'm enjoying while playing the game.
He never asked for it
>7 years later
>still no nu-Dude Sex 3
Being a fan of this series is pure suffering
new DX game is being worked on but so far its unknown if its continuation of Adam or something else.
what'd make the most financial sense at this point is doing a deus ex remaster in the same way they're remastering system shock 2, take the old game, make it run better on new pcs and throw in slightly prettier visuals
i hope they continue adam's story eventually though
well the guys that bought the IP said they're interested in remasters and remakes and sequels n shit so it is possible but i think it might Adam's sequel since some job applications suggested a south asia location set.
a new deus ex game is the only release i'd be excited about honestly
deus ex got a movie though
That's not a Deus Ex movie. It's a "Don't be a fricking simp, you dumb fricks." movie.
>want to play deus ex for the first time
>play on revision so I get the achievements, various mods and the mod that gives a new campaign
>Black folk on here always say to play with the original map layouts
>listen to them and get stuck 2 times because you can't open something because there's no button or the door simply locks itself without explanation
>have to restart the whole mission from the start again 2 times
game is good but frick you Black folk
original is not worth it so yeah Revision only is good.
so far I find that original layouts are decent/good, I'll play them again with the revision layouts. Have you tried the mods that modify gameplay?
aside from Revision no i haven't tried any other mods, i don't hate the original levels but they're veeery barebones compared to Revision.
I meant that in Revision I saw that you could enable some combat mods like Shifter and another one that I don't remember the name
ah those, right.
Yeah but i feel like there was no difference from the OG or maybe it didn't apply the ''enable'' for me but idk for sure.
>cyborg chief of security at a billion dollar cyborg company
>"you need upgrades to protect us? Have you searched in nearby dumpsters and sewers?"
The deus ex games were shit and the protagonist isn't interesting. You want a deus ex series? Go look in nearby dumpsters
Someone didn't play the game.
I liked HR and MD even less than I did CP77. If there was an animation based on DE1 then I might watch it.
cool but no one cares contraritroons
nu-deusslop is not deus ex and never will be.
because 2077 is better than Deus Ex
