>Go back to waterfall cave to check up on a seeker token location >Finally, I can show that wight homosexual who's boss >Forgot I kited him into the chimera arena >He's still there >High level wights can cast fricking maelstrom >Getting bullied by a fricking gore chimera in a florida hurricane while my archer pawn just deletes the wight for me

meh, the reward he gives is like 12k gold and a dogshit ring, that you will never use, the elite camping kit the other guy gives is good. Honestly complete the quests how you want to because the difference in rewards between what's most "optimal" is bad in the long run anyways
Shit i didnt even encounter the fricking cat i just gave the snooty guy the real deal. Got decent amount of gold and a shit ring for a fighter.
Now im stuck on that quest where i have to find a boy. Ive been forced to camp due to having to kill a wight and frick up a griffin a bit more. Is he dead?
Thats how it works out. Cat gives you reward as normal. If you run into him again he tells you others found it was a fake but he just assumes you got duped as well. However he threatens to hurt you if he finds out that you did knowingly give him a fake.
>gave the cat guy the real jade oppaite >give the forgery to the snooty guy >nothing happened
I guess so. Did you bribe the forgery guy to lie for you?
>Riftstone of remembrance >Talk to generic bimbo mage pawn I had for a bit >She asks if we've met before >Talk to fighter girl pawn I had with me for hours and put in good work >She comments on how strong I've gotten since she last saw me
I had this moment there. I found it while going to Battahl for the first time and all my pawns brined themselves when i took a harpy ride to the tip of the cape.
>Spend all of my 20s with a healerfu pawn >Never change her out because she's just applying weapon buffs, healing, and curing >Eventually change her out because I get Magick Archer and I can heal the party well enough >"I will look back on our travels fondly, Arisen." >Me too, Rita >Progress into the 40s >Main Pawn is now a super powerful sorcerer and my party is basically just two front liner pawns while we hang in the back and nuke >Happen upon Riftstone of Rememberence >"I've missed you, Arisen! Look how you've grown!"
Why are we not allowed to enjoy this feeling anymore?
Its a neat feature and makes them a little more colorful. I need to check the travelogue more as they just keep talking about all women parties and how one had different ones in their private room every night.
either
a: Your pawn fell into water or off a cliff or wasn't revived in time before fading, giving no chance to give a rating or gift (most likely)
or
b: the person that hired your pawn is a c**t that never gives ratings or gifts to anyone ever
The self-depreciating assumption is that they didn't like your pawn but realistically I don't think that happens very often because hosts can already see all the stats and abilities of a pawn before they hire them

>mfw pawn returns with a weed and no rating >pawn mentions suffering much cruelty at the hands of the arisen
why do they hate her

I just gave no rating and a rotten fish to a pawn because it kept using fire enchants when I got to the volcanic isle where everything resists fire thus making us do less damage instead of using its fricking attacks
I didn't happen across any complaints yet, but there have been am amusing comment >>As a matter of fact >>One of my previous masters only hires women, I wonder why that is
>Hire a mage Pawn from level 10 all the way to level 30 >Cute appearance, very useful, modestly dressed >Lose her from some weird incident where I got knocked into the water and all of my Pawns disappear >Eventually meet her again >Now dressed like a turbo bawd

Has anyone been able to make DD2 work on Linux? I finally managed to get through the start up logos, but when I git start game I hit a black screen. Im using nvidia-550.67-1 drivers for what its worth.
>run into your natural enemies >Somehow it's the game's fault
Get gud. It was the same with the first game. Hell nothing says you can't leave and go get different pawns.
I gotta ask: Is there any place to find medusas in endgame? I've fought god knows how many dragons, chimeras and whatever else but I haven't fought any medusas besides the one in the forest.
you can get mystic Spearhand pretty early by doing the drake fight at harve and talking to the Spearhand homie after
magic archer and trickster are both in battahl
Yeah I did that, was one of the worst fricking experiences of my life trying to do the escort quest. The actual trip there isn't bad except for the cave with all the roller saurids and the exit is blocked off so you have to avoid those nasty frickers while you try to break the exit
I found it by going south since i wanted to see if i could get to the last region right after battalh.
I had forgotten my camping supplies, so i spent the whole escort quest with my pawns at 25% hp.
just ran through batahl for the first time and got to the main city.
I wouldn't really say it's particularly difficult, but enemies put up a fight much more, especially in terms of stun resist. My max health got pretty low on the trip and fighting an elder ogre gave a few close calls.
What weapons and skills are you using on warfarer?
I got ricochet and ice boulder on magick bow and skull crusher on daggers, then a staff for levitation
Haven’t unlocked it yet but I think I’ll mix mage for palladium, sorcerer for twin casting with pawns and magick archer for hitting the sticky bombs sorcerer pawns cast. And since it’s three magic weapons it makes the augments easy to slot in.
>do a few escort quests with elf princess >normally just lug her around if I have to over my shoulder >get affinity high enough she starts blushing >whenever I pick her up now I princess carry her while she just enjoys it
They thought of everything
Killed the last boss just 2 minutes ago It was disappointing, everything was so abrupt and the fight was way too easy. I expected a fight with several phases but it was just a stationary "le big monster" fight. Literally killed him without getting hit.
What are some good arisen/pawn combinations? I was thinking of aiming for magick archer with a warrior pawn, but I feel like I'd struggle without a good mage to heal/cure status effects. I know I can just hire pawns but I kinda want a my arisen and main pawn to be able to handle anything on their own.
you can really do anything and have your support pawns do whatever else is needed. Personally I usually have my support pawns as mage or archer, since me and my pawn tend to be frontline classes.
Fighter Arisen, Sorcerer Pawn. Magic Archer is unlocked quite late in the game. You can run to it right away, but the journey is going to be pure misery and you ruin a good experience if you google how to get to battahl instead of finding a way on your own.
>fighting a drake at a rivers edge >get it down to last health bar >it knocks the entire party into the brine >I respawn alone >solo the last health bar >with a single hit remaining, it flies up into the air and ground stops into the water >I get no loot
thanks
>meet the dwarf + elf couple >elf gives me an escort quest >"alright that seems low effort but maybe this is how I learn elvish" >take her to Battahl >suddenly get achievement for maxing out a character's affection >pic related
What the frick is this, I don't want some loose elven hag that cheats on my dwarf bro, get the frick out of here. Is there some way to lower affection or should I just throw her into the brine?
I literally just got it from her I promise it works

Nah I just gave up and went to another elf and got it after 2 sets of flowers. Its just strange and I assume the NPC need to stay in place and provide service overwrote the affection.
The escort quests are randomly generated and can have miserable locations. I don't know if it is possible to cancel them. So far all of them have gifted me flowers as a reward.
they will always gift you flowers after the escort, it means you have max affinity
there is a chance they will give you other gifts when you see them again
I just wish it was a boss fight instead of a cutscene, where if you run like a coward it fricks shit up and you lose the pawn slot until you go back and kick its ass
The punishment could be more interesting than "haha I kill your quest people."
A 1v1 with the pawn that you've been leveling the whole game would be sick.
>People are taking my pawn out despite her being a straightforward fighter. >Designed her to just be a cool bro rather than sexo waifu
Glad people have been adventuring with her. Had some guy kill like four ogres with her.
give him skills and augments that aren't shit
I am level 50 and frequently see pawns with a single ability and no augmented wearing starter gear
I don't know how the frick you can play the game that much ignoring basic mechanics
>almost make Warcraft Orc pawn >get worried that the gaps on his shoulders, hips and hands where huge greenskin tattoos don't reach spoil the appearance >keep his dark, dirty skin, pointy Orc ears, scars, and change out his green coverage for other tatoos >surprisingly satisfied with the resulting elder warrior look
Now I just gotta put some decent skills in his rotation and throw him to the masses. No shot of him because I'm a dirty phoneposter
And now that you've gone and opened up that can of worms, I suppose I'll post mine here as well. You'll have to forgive the lack of fashion on her-- it's a work in progress that requires more gold than I currently have.
So is the only missable maister vocation skill the fighter one? The rest can be got at any time, even if you've already spoken with/done the quest for the NPC that gives it but you weren't the vocation for it at the time?
I need to know for sure before I walk into Nameless Village as not a thief and miss the skills because you can't come back as one and get the skills later
alright, thank you. I'd been putting off some quests friends told me they got skills from because I wasn't sure if you had to have that vocation equipped to get them as rewards
Im gathering the grimoires for the mage/sorc mastery but the counselor I saved never gave me his, he just keep asking to get his glasses from the party
Am I fricked?
are you actually on the mission Spellbound? he didn't give it to me until I was on the mission. Also you might have to go get his glasses, they are really simple to get
You're fine at that point. The game will literally tell you when it's about to progress the story. Hell I'm not even sure you need to do the question. Could just walk in there and grab them.
I've been playing DD2 12 hours a day since launch, feels just as fun as when I played the first game when it released on consoles. I hope the game does well enough we get a third game within a decade.
My only complaints are >Fricked up character creation, "no new game" button sucked. Got it sorted. >FPS tanks in Vernworth. >Hi-five bugs out sometimes >found some floating trees >some ideas feel half baked >MK is kill
Everything else is great. A lot of the aspects of combat are better than DD1. I'm still pretty early on, but it's been fun. Exploration is basically fricking first time going through Skyrim kind of huge.
I know you guys are still playing the game and having fun (so am I) so you aren't ready to talk about it yet but: The set of vocations you get in 2 is shit compared to 1. No more dual weapon vocations. No bow/dagger vocations, Magick Archer has none of its cool dagger skills, Mystic Knight is gone, Warfarer is shit compared to Assassin since it allows 3 skills instead of 6, even Fighter is gimped by only having 4 skills instead of 3 shield and 3 sword. Mage/Sorcerer just straight downgraded from 6 spells to 4. This is the worst and biggest issue of DD2 compared to DA. Also no BBI-like endgame. I'm overall massively disappointed with DD2 in every way except the very core fundamental combat, which isn't better or worse than 1 but rather feels exactly the same.
They really failed in letting so many vocations fall through. I at least assumed MK would be in fighter in some way, but the near entirety of its skillset is just gone, big shields n all. Hell they could have pushed a more holy/dark mechanic for it if they wanted to make each vocations more unique. And good god they fricked up the dragons faith shield so bad.
>>MK is kill
Which is so sad and basically needless, because you could just give fighters a way to give themselves a unique dark enchant, and then fighters have basically a great fighter kit while also having a pretty decent set of MK features.
I still like how well the basic vocations have been fleshed out, but it sucks being a jedi instead of a true MK.

I only agree for certain vocations. Fighter and especially warrior are improvements. Shield skills are much less valuable than weapon skills, and the movesets have included some old skills or new abilities like finishers on stunned enemies. thief is strong as frick as the dagger class since it gets strider and assassin moves. Mage exists as a support class and you can always benefit from having one around.
I think Sorc is the one that really suffers from less spells and utility overall. Warfarer should've had a few skills per weapon though, instead of just 3 altogether. limit it to 2-3 weapons to compensate.
Yeah but Trickster is pure kino. No clue how Itsuno managed to sneak that one in. It's the most anti-Mainstream "big guy with sword" hipster thing I've seen put in a AAA game in a looong time. That and Dragon Aids. God bless this madman.
We don't even know everything about Pawns in 1 so I'm not gonna make definitive statements about them in 2.
However, they do seem better in combat, yet this may be a negative because it makes combat even easier compared to 1.
>because it makes combat even easier compared to 1
Combat in Battahl seems significantly more challenging than Vermund. I'm getting my ass kicked and need new gear ASAP.
pawns being more capable in combat is a good thing, the enemies being a bit too easy to take down is a problem of their stats needing a bit of a boost.
Pawns also seem much more useful in pointing out chests and quest objectives in the world, which is great.
>the enemies being a bit too easy to take down is a problem of their stats needing a bit of a boost.
I agree. Right now I'm getting knockdowns like crazy and we just smoke everything. Game needs a hard mode like 1, and BBI-like dangerous enemies.

Or you could play the game the way it was intended, just you and your pawn. Hiring two schmucks doubles your fire and stun power. A party of 4 is Very Easy mode in this game, same as it was in DD1. Solo is Very Hard and DD2 does NOT have the Autonomy Assassin augments that DD1 had.

Battahl enemies are noticeably more resistant to knockdowns than vermund, they can actually fight back. but I haven't been there long, so who knows if the first shop I go to will give me gear to start fricking them up again.
I still think the game should scale up enemies on NG+, no idea why they didn't implement that. It was one of the things I'd hoped they would change from the first game.

Definitely hoping for a hard mode eventually, one that doesn't royally frick the balance of the game by making it "get one shot by everything" at first then potentially easier for the rest of the game because of all the extra XP and gold you get. It came out for DD1 like 6 months after release but I think it's something that should've been included by default in DD2. Maybe after they fix some of the technical shit.
It doesn't even need to be bbi-tier, just make it moderately harder, enemies can be a bit bulkier so I don't tear through them so fast and hit a bit harder.

I think the actual world of DD2 feels a lot better. Beyond just being bigger, the increase in caves to explore makes it feel like there's more to find
It really could have used more proper dungeons, or crypts, or areas like the old battleground. Too many caves for my liking.
To the right there's a small ledge you can levitate on. It's a throwback to the ledge from DD1 which mages could use to get instant access to the Weirwood.
Well that's fricking moronic. Not having the ledge to get there faster - that's neat, but why the frick lock the door from the inside of the cave?
There are at LEAST 2-3 that I can recall around the world. There's nothing special behind the ones I've opened, but figuring out how to open them is satisfying nonetheless.

I think he means ones that are locked with a bar on one side of them
Its way better than one in so many ways apart from difficulty, where DD2 is a lot easier. and vocations are way more fleshed out.
The only thing that should be improved is giving us more assigned skills, because its rough for getting good elemental coverage but even then the increased amount of core skills is a great boon. Mages get fricking anodyne as a core skill somehow. Really strong stuff.
>DD1 is also very easy bro
Exactly my point my dear anon. Im literally fricking invincible, anodyne heals me faster than ogres and cyclops can damage me, and palladium combined with deflect means that i can go toe to toe with big monsters until they stagger.
My only weakness right now is stamina.
As someone who played the original twelve years ago it's pretty funny seeing all the normies jump on the hypetrain expecting some monster hunter/elden ring hybrid. People unironically asking for horses and only spamming Helm Splitter because their "GET OP FAST BEST THEIF BUILD DO NOTTT WASTE URRR TIMMEE" clickbait video told them to.
Once I was comfortable with Bathal I ditched all hired pawns, now it's just me and my partner waging a guerilla war against the hobgoblins there. I haven't been this immersed in a game in years.
Im trying spearhand, the concept is cool but the execution is poor.
The whole vocation relies on overloading the enemies and teleport to them but it easy to either miss the shot or the teleport.
The shield is a very nice thing to have tho
Can you swap between pawn specializations once you have more than one? Mine speaks elvish and I want to try the others but all the scrolls are single-use.
>Escort mission >Griffin comes down >"WATS GUD homie" >casting a spell >pawn yells "watch out!" >yeah that's lightning >wait is that an AoE >get oneshot
Honestly, I'm glad they aren't pulling any punches. That was fricking hilarious to experience.
I might be moronic but what is actually the point in all those statues you see scattered about the map? I can't seem to actually be able to interact with them in anyway and my pawns call them out whenever they see one but I don't get why.
do we know if my friend will be able to hire my pawn if i progress into ng+ and he's still in ng? very hard to find any info about ng+ other than the things that carry over...
>accidently jump off a tower to a height that will very clearly kill me >"oh shit bout to die" >my fricking pawn catches me before I hit the ground saving me from taking any damage
I did not know they could do that.
Man, I wish there were an mechanic for sacrificing exp/levels for vocation points or maybe even gold, bacause not only hate getting overleveled, but I also feel like I dont get as many pawn hires as I did in when I was sub level 25 and I got a taste for living parasocialy through my pawn.
Guys, I'm level 38 and still haven't killed a dragon.
Is that normal?
I get stomped every single time I try.
Once I came close then the homosexual flew away.
Wait hold up you can get to battahl without going through the checkpoint town or having a pass? Just found the cave that leads to it randomly Okay that's kinda neat. Also not sure if it's because my arisen is min height but he's been dickstabbing everything with the mystic spearhand's heavy attack finisher on stunned standing enemies.
the only thing that will help you reach those places is levitating as a mage
I thought prerelease they said you could ask your pawns for a boost but I've never seen it
fighters and warriors get the team boost abilities if you know something I don't
Fighter and Warrior have launching abilities. Mages can levitate up places. Thats about it.
Your own vocation is much more important for reaching places. Mage levitate. Thief mid-air explosion jump.
Mystic spearhand gap closer skill is probably my favorite. Your height stays static and you launch forward in a straight line. Skipped so many gaps with that.
I cant find anywhere online how the romance system has changed, are there dedicated npcs now? Can you still romance any npc you come across? Is there a more deadset way to choose your partner so you dont get a rando merchant tossed at you?
Loss Gauge is one of the worst mechanics I've ever seen in a videogame. Instead of fixing DD1's dogshit healing system, they instead put this garbage in.
Equipping the Physical/Magic damage negation augments you also take less loss gauge. I can kill five dragons in a row without resting. There's also the warrior augment to decrease it if you're too much of a moron.
>quite a few caves, most aren't huge but they're all over
Oh shit nice I like stumbling upon that type of stuff plus it being smaller is a positive to me. Get in and get the frick out I say.
How the frick do you lower the ladder to the north of Melve that connects to the Elven forest?
The cave that should lead you to that ladder has a barred door that can only be opened from the side with the ladder.
This is pissing me off more than it should
I went to that cave for the elf quest to save the girl from the troll, but that door never got opened. Is there a separate elf quest you're talking about?
>How the frick do you lower the ladder to the north of Melve that connects to the Elven forest?
I used an Harpy beacon but unless I missed something there were doors locked on both sides
To the right there's a small ledge you can levitate on. It's a throwback to the ledge from DD1 which mages could use to get instant access to the Weirwood.
you have to go in the elven ruins at night
skeletons should spawn on the other side of the door, bait them to attack you so they hit the wooden bar instead
farming drakes in this one is infuriating. sleep 7+ days then walk all the way there and if they aren't there backtrack all the way until at least a fire then camp then walk all the way there then if they aren't there all the way back to the fire again and yadda yadda all this shit and half an hour later you have +10 wlc.
i'd farm ferrystones and set up portcrystals but there doesn't seem to be a reliable ferrystone enemy drop and vendor scumming with gold exploiting just "feels" like cheating.
>i'd farm ferrystones and set up portcrystals but there doesn't seem to be a reliable ferrystone enemy drop and vendor scumming with gold exploiting just "feels" like cheating.
My thief pawn got few using the steal skill on the volcanic Island. The first time I went there to do deliver some letter by the time I decided to turn back she had 5 or 6 in her inventory.
assuming you just want crystals play a thief, use the ring that weakens your attacks and just whack the motherfricker with light attacks.
I did this with the lesser dragon quest since it doesn't fly away and got 120 crystals in an hour or so.
PSA some quests that aren't explicitly timed are hidden-timed (phantom cart for example) I got it after going to batahl so no, it was not that. finish quests as you get them, other than story quests, I guess.
I was forced into the last story mission because I haven't explored volcano island. Now I'm being forced into NG+
I don't know what's the cutoff point but the game should fricking tell you, like going to batahl.
you can't give me a quest to go there and then nope, too bad.
there are some serious pacing and story issues for batahl. I think they spent most of their time on vermund and then capcom told itsuno to wrap it up so he can churn up DMC6 or something. there are only about 2 missions involving their queen/priestess.
maybe im fricking moronic but I just realized there is a built in clock on the pause menu
the ring around the map shows a sun that represents noon, and the top is the current time
I keep seeing people talk about the clock mod so i guess there are a lot of other morons out there including the guy who made the mod
Yeah. Managed to do it during the dwarf quest to carry him to the healing pools. And the head will still keep shooting lasers that you can use if you aim at something. I think it has something to do with causing the Golem to crumble into pieces during the fight, then it fails to get his head back.
Is that the gate to pawn knowledge now?
I hope not, though recently I started playing mage and now my Pawn actually has started giving useful advice on elements.
It does, the ability where you launch into the air and come back down gives you I-frames and increases damage when you "dodge" an attack when you use it.
>get to frickdark woods >undead everywhere >obviously evil glowing shit in the middle >fog doesn't clear, and it's still as dark as brant's asscrack
Oh I hate this place.
All of the vocation maisters feel like they should be the people who teach you the vocation or give you some early tips or something, not be the endgame for them
Lacks soul
I ran through the checkpoint into battahl when it opened and the guards chased me until I got attacked by a griffin. then night fell and a golem lurched out of the darkness joined by some wolves and spirits. having a blast.
Man I just came back to the capital to do some shopping and get my gear enhanced the vermund way the actual hell is this butthole doing here. Screw this I'm ferrystoning out before someone becomes a casualty of this jerk
>r9 5900x >4080 >thought I'd probably be fine, how bad could it really be? >get to vernworth >dips into the low 30fps range occasionally
holy shit it's actually THAT bad huh
game is fun despite that but man this is pretty rough
Bro what the frick even ARE Pawns? How do they work?
>supposed to exist solely serve the arisen >hundreds of pawns wandering around not giving a frick about the arisen >sit in towns but apparently aren't really true citizens of that town >pawns can be any race, even ones disconnected from the other races
Is is just a "video-gamey" thing and I should stop thinking about it?
I always kind of wondered what the frick pawns do all day and how normal people react to them. Battahl has a prejudice against them but what the hell are all these pawns doing if there's no arisen running around to command a few at a time?
The slave camp at the beginning was kind of interesting and it makes sense that people would try to take advantage of all these strong warriors who can be ordered around with the right magic bullshit.
Make a living as sellswords and manual labor, although with how easy they come and go from the rift why they would spend their time doing mundane work for mundane men when they could be having fun elsewhere in the multiverse with an arisen is a mystery. I get why the slave camp ones stick around, and that's because that crystal bullshit emulates the arisen's command of the Legion, but the random ones just milling about towns and the roads could just up and leave back to the rift to find gainful employment under an arisen
They're past Arisens stored in the Rift to serve as highly functional autist companions to the current Arisen. They're the ones who never even got to the Dragon's Dogma™, they died before that part.
Why would people complain about that? I appreciated actually having to activate a handful of neurons in combat encounters for a change. I wish the enemy counts in general were doubled throughout as well as their damage and health
>be archer >enemy gets close to me >proceed to literally get the shit kicked out of me while stunlocked on the floor
they really shouldve given archer some kind of dodge skill or something
The running slide and jump kicking off an enemy kind of serve that, but they take a second or two of setup, so you have to see the enemy coming. Don't really mind it since archer isn't supposed to be up close if you can help it. I think Sorc gets a pretty good stagger resist augment so maybe try that if it bothers you.
Its really clear how much better thief is compared to fighter when thieves can knock harpies down from the sky and they die to their own fall damage, while fighters have to wait or try to use cloud strike with its worse autoaim.
That said a fighter is literally invincible with deflect an a support mage, and does lots of knockdown, but other classes seem to do more of everything.
is there a follow up to the coral snakes questline? i heard from some npcs that they moved location to the ancient battleground but im not finding shit here.
i progressed the quest with hugo and he went to go get revenge on them
i showed up and killed the coral snakes boss instantly and then hugo talked to me and it was over
Am I the only one that just uses Warfarer to wear cool armor while using the other vocations? The vocation seems pretty shit if you try to use it any other way.
Nah pawns suck shit at archer in this game. Probably because they don't use the vocation action, they just mash square. They were much better in the first game where they snipe things in the weakpoint every time because they have no choice but to aim the bow.
They all have their advantages.
Mage: healbot and buffs
Archer: Fastest ranged option
Sorcerer: Great AoE damage and nuking large enemies
Thief: Free wakestone shards from looting and super high damage to weakspots
Warrior: Big dick damage when they can connect and holding agro
The only pawn vocation that feels kind of worthless is fighter. It's not really any better at tanking than a warrior with roar and seems to do way less damage.
Whatever you want. A thief with Pilfer will net you tens of thousands of gold once you hit Bathal. I personally don't like caster pawns, enemies will die too quick. A well build fighter is unkilleable and will stagger the frick out of anything with an Ogre Ring. Pawns are god-tier at blocking and using counterskills too.
Thieves have a skill that lets you steal items from monsters. It can steal some pretty good shit like wakestone shards with surprising frequency.
It only triggers when the enemy is knocked down but I just gave my thief the grappling hook which knocks down enemies
Is thief the most broken vocation? I maxed it and just haven't touched it because I can't help but abuse pyre and kill bosses in 10 seconds. Nothing else has come close
The most powerful vocation is mystic spearhand because they can make the entire party invincible for the entire fight while also doing decent damage. Or if you just want the best damage go with sorcerer using the master spells

No, anon is right. Killing her is a riddle. You using the arrow shows you're moronic and can't solve the puzzle.
a pawn that dies gets no rating or item, yeah. Usually if you get your pawn back without an item or rating you can assume it probably fell off a cliff or got brined since most people will at least gift some random crap in their inventory
>pcheats need to mod and cheat and hack >can't just keep their filthy hands out of the games innards
This is why all games should be PS5 permanent exclusive, PC has a toddlers palate and cannot truly and responsibly appreciate video games the same way actual gamers do

Don't see how.
The game is good besides the level scaling bullshit it has going on. It's REALLY bad. All it does is make the game a slog because to get anywhere you have to fight monsters that are tanky despite you having killed them 10 billion times.
>Get to Sacred Arbor >Forget I don't have any pawns who speak Elvish >Can't be bothered to raise affection with one to get the tome to learn it
If it was more prevalent in the game I'd care I guess, but then again its not like any of the other specializations are really that great either.
so i killed the dragon the credits rolled and put me to the title screen so clearly I missed something because that felt anti-climatic and shit and I expected something similar to DD1 after you kill the dragon are there required quests im supposed to do or something
Did you get the part of the ending cutscene where you can walk around and talk to people as king? Try talking to the ghost of darth sidious who was hanging out weirdly there and hell let you retry to do it right.
If you need a hint on how to do it right and unlock postgame, notice that Greg the dragon says that your time is up when you reach the battlefield. In other words, you need to do "something" while riding greg and before you reach the battlefield.
You're supposed to get a different ending but I didn't bother resting so I have to go through the entire game again to experience some underwhelming content. I'm done with this junk personally.
>when you're just wiping out a half dozen goblins on your way to some random place that the melee fighters can wipe out in a few hits and the mage pawn in your party manages to let loose their level 9 nuclear fougasse spell
mine always had both since before i got to the desert, and the cast time rings
i also have beef with all the mage pawns having dogshit skills
but most of all what bugs me is how the popularity system is worthless because most useless pawns have lots of points, so i have to check skills each time
Just ran into my second dullahan in the area with dragonforged and had no idea they could use a grappling hook. He brined all of my pawns and me with that and just barely beat him.
Put her through fighter to get Thew first because that gives you free weight and inhale the gold beetles. My tiny warrior girl has never gone above Light.
>lvl ~10 >just got to vernworth >get a quest to get a letter to melve >get on oxcart >no 5 minutes out a griffin fricking crash lands into the cart and rips it to shreds >fight it for 10 minutes, barely got one of its 4 health bars down >it fricks off >turn around >some guards/pawns are fighting lizards and goblins >help them out >hear roar >Ah there he is. >That motherfricker. >What a tool. >griffin comes back for round 2 >low on resources and barely doing any damage to it but frick it, let's do this >fight goes on for a few minutes >griffin jumps to nearby riverbank >bugs out doing the same flinch animation on a loop >inches closer and closer to the water while flinching >falls in >brined
guess that's one way to kill it...
Glyndwr no longer appears of the map. I got distracted into a fight with a troll and I can't reach the Elf village, I'm screwed, but I don't feel like starting over from the 'last inn rest' which I don't remember when it was.
If you've been picking up all the monster drops like you should have you can easily make 5-10k RIGHT NOW by selling off some goblin horns and monster hides.
be a fruit merchant to sell ripe fruit to sand Black folk for 7x profit
go to melve, buy apple and grape, sit on bench 4x to pass a day, rinse and repeat
everytime fruit turns ripe, put it in storage
then either go back to bazekistan and sell it to any vendor there for 350 each per ripe fruits, or go to checkpoint border town and wait for the furBlack person wandering merchant to show up to sell the fruits.
that wasn't a thing in the first game was it? or am I misremembering?

i dont know, i dont remember it being a thing in DD:DA, but last time i played that game was close to 10 years ago

There was technically a limit but it was unrealistically high, like 5000 unique item types or something like that. I picked up absolutely fricking everything and never got close to running out of space.
Exclusively hire pawns with 10k gold reward kill quests
Sell all your valuable gems in the region where they're rare to find, they sell for 2.5k+ gold each
Use thief pawns/be a thief that can steal, they can steal those rare gems from certain enemies
I'm currently sitting on 500k gold
>sphinx isn't a fight >talos is gimmick >medusa is in one area and spawns every two weeks >dullahan so rare he might as well not be in the game >rock golem
great new content
Dragon aids. I was curious what would happen if I didn't deal with it and assumed most companies knew better than to add a mechanic that could potentially brick your save.
I did something stupid, I went to the dragonforge and used some wyvern crystals to buy the super arrow that lets you kill anything, I was planning to save it for the sphinx, but I teleported back to the city and found a dragon killing everybody in town, I tried fighting it but couldn't do much so I used the arrow and killed it (lot of people died tho) and got more crystals so I went back to the guy to try to buy another arrow but seems like he only had one and it's completely sold out no matter how many days pass, I fricked up big, is there any way to get another arrow? can they be duplicated?
bros can anyone confirm if inclinations really change pawn ai alot or not really? like calm for example ive been using it on my mage pawn but id like to change her to a thief or warrior, will she be more useless because of calm?
but have you hired a calm thief to compare? the thing is I dont want to change from calm because I like the voice. if my pawn performs worse because of it then it was stupid to tie voice to inclinations imo.
i think its more so vocation that determines their behavior. my pawn is calm and has been fighter/warrior all game and is aggressive as frick. i switched her to mage and she'd still do shit like pick up an enemy and throw them or pick up a boulder and just throw it at an enemy lol
>fighting Drake >mage has both fire affinity and ice affinity >she keeps saying "fire won't work well but ice will!" >refuses to do the latter, only the former
Wait so... (ACTUAL SPOILERS AHEAD) Is there really no Grigori fight in this? Does he really just show up in one cutscene, does some vastly inferior monologuing to the 11/10 he delivered in 1, and then gets Godsbane'd? There wasn't even a cool bossfight before it, just a clusterfrick of human enemies. Bros...
You watched a Youtube video of a guy getting the true ending. You fight him. He's 10x easier than any drake lmao what a joke
Honest to god I did not. The game gave me a Godsbane and an interactive climbing part similar to 1, except I couldn't attack, and had free movement to crawl onto his chest where there was a giant, beating, glowing weak point just on all the drakes. 2+2=4
Is the fight at least good? I know it's not gonna hold a candle to the fight in 1, but still. They copied the "hang onto his back" part from 1, but in 1 you just have to reach the glowing spot on his back and smack it. I assumed I had to do something similar to that, but I noticed
1. There's no spot on his back
2. I have completely free movement and there's no stamina
3. I can move freely, whereas in 1 it's just a straight line with the occasional left stick waggle QTE
4. I can't even attack
What was I supposed to do, sit around with my thumb up my ass and do nothing? I crawled around until I found his heart spot, pondered on why they would spend their budget on making this interactive rather than just have him monologue in a cutscene, then remembered I had the Godsbane. How was I uspposed to know it would cheat me out of a cool fight?
>What was I supposed to do, sit around with my thumb up my ass and do nothing?
Unfortunately yeah. The fight is the exact same as the original, and you can get a pretty cool sequence if you get to the ballista.
NTA but Grigori fell over in literally two seconds. Didn't even get to experience the fight. Then the second time when the NotSeneschal puts you on Grigori I assumed they wanted you to Godsbane him. What happens if you ride it out again the second time?
>40 hours in, still in Vermund
starting to think I'm stupid for autistically going through everything making sure I don't miss anything instead of leaving them for subsequent playthroughs as a nice surprise
I'm in NG+ and I'm fricking melting enemies in less than a minute
anything weaker than the rock saurians I basically 1 shot
should I get the mods to double enemy health and damage? I don't really know how else to keep the game playable
I understand letting players have that power fantasy and getting strong as frick but man this game was easy
at this point i cant wait to beat the game so i can go replay dd1. jesus christ this game was so enjoyable in vermund, i got to battahl and there werent any new bosses and then that just so happens to be when i found out theres no endgame and theres no level scaling in ng+. what were they thinking????
To my knowledge there's no minimum story quests to get it, but it's insanely out of the way and in a relatively late game area. You could probably go there now, but you'd have a bad time.
Can confirm.
I wandered over there around level 20 to get some dirt for a different quest and decided to pick up the letter delivery quest because why not, and it turned into a 3 hour pain filled odyssey.
Mostly because I was moronic and I've been keeping my camping set on a hired pawn and forgot to replace it when I swapped out pawns. My HP cap was down to about 100 by the time I made it to the hotsprings.
they are super cheap, just buy them and sell the materials from monsters you hunt to keep a constant amount, losing time finding flowers is a bad idea.
>no mystic knight >no good boss fights >barely any cool locations, world feels AI generated >game too cluttered with bullshit, pack of goblins/saurians etc every 10 steps, crafting shit and treasure chests with nothing but potatoes in them every 5 steps >less equipment slots and less armor variety >side quests are still either completely meaningless or very important but permanently missable >no cool "endgame" dungeon like the everfall >less monster variety >movement feels insanely clunky slipping and sliding on every pebble or slight incline on the ground, pawns constantly run off of edges and die for no reason
they didn't improve a single aspect from dark arisen besides graphics
I'm pretty sure the Pathfinder is not actually the Seneschal. I think the Seneschal is actually the Beast guy who gives you the Godsbane. I think the Pathfinder is a different Godlike being that controls the Brine.
at best it might just give you an extra 10% boost
OS scheduling, at least on sane OSes like Linux, adjusts based on CPU demand from the process. I would assume Windows does that by default too
It just modern Capcom things, just like Iceborne and Sunbreak did for MonHun i bet the future expansion for DD2 will be great. Thing is it shouldnt feel incomplete without it, which it totally does.
>attacked by griffin >starts to fly away on low health but I manage to grab on >flies almost entirely across the starting map >have to keep eating stamina boosts as it flies over the castle and capital city >blow up a powder blast over a forest that kills it but sends me flying >caught by buff mommy pawn "a well placed strike will take down great foes" >sleep at a camp and immediately woken by another griffin that flies me to its nest mid fight >pawns sprinting to catch up and they come save my ass >"it's hard work to keep up with a flying griffin Arisen"
God damn they juiced the pawn behaviour in this one
The pawns catching you is such a nice touch. My gato saved my life multiple times in the walking titan fight. I know the pawns basically teleport to directly under you to make it happen, but I don't care because it's really cool.

yeah I love the pawns, I liked them in the first game already and they're even better in this one
so for anyone that's finished it, is it actually Dragon's Dogma 1 as it should have been or was originally intended?
I'm on the fence on buying this but might wait for a sale if its at least good, but finding any real feedback about the game is hard since its largely wanking over MTX and performance issues (which sure are problems but not fundamental in the long term).
Lol moon was visible in prerelease footage but noticeably absent in final release, my guess is it wasn't ready in time for gold and will be added back in via DLC
i havent fricked with any of it yet but i imagine enemy hp and damage modifier would be good enough. ill either wait for modders to implent shit like medusa and the sphinx as roaming bosses or just wait for the dlc.
it's like dragon's dogma 1.2 maybe
better graphics, different map, most systems are exactly the same
just more of the same which is great in a way but frustrating in another as there's barely any improvement on issues the first game had
they forgot most of what made the first game good and unique and just made a decent but middling open world action game. it's fun but it's not what it should have been
As someone who really enjoyed DDDA and played through all the content but once but was never autistic about builds etc, I'm having just as much fun with this one. If it wasn't for the shit performance I'd recommend everyone play it. I wish I'd just got a PS5 and Rebirth to tide me over until this game gets fixed cause experiencing this game for the first time with all the problems ironed out would have been incredible.
This region and its road back to Vermund with the cliff ledges with small decorations made me feel inconfortable and weird for some unexplicable reason.
Maybe that is why.
Why do i need a permit tp cross the border? How do I get one? There are quests I have to do in Battahl... but this guard won't let get past here without one.
>Go back to waterfall cave to check up on a seeker token location
>Finally, I can show that wight homosexual who's boss
>Forgot I kited him into the chimera arena
>He's still there
>High level wights can cast fricking maelstrom
>Getting bullied by a fricking gore chimera in a florida hurricane while my archer pawn just deletes the wight for me
t-thanks
>prey for the pack

its broken
you have to escort the little shit. he should still be there when you go back
Entering the Nameless Village for the first time at night was comfy af
>gave the cat guy the real jade oppaite
>give the forgery to the snooty guy
>get thrown in jail
did I frick up
meh, the reward he gives is like 12k gold and a dogshit ring, that you will never use, the elite camping kit the other guy gives is good. Honestly complete the quests how you want to because the difference in rewards between what's most "optimal" is bad in the long run anyways
thanks. I always feel like I make the wrong decision in quests like this. I tried bribing the stupid forger and ran out of money as well.
I think Skullduggery is the strongest ring I've found
Shit i didnt even encounter the fricking cat i just gave the snooty guy the real deal. Got decent amount of gold and a shit ring for a fighter.
Now im stuck on that quest where i have to find a boy. Ive been forced to camp due to having to kill a wight and frick up a griffin a bit more. Is he dead?
i just gave the merchant the jade and told the cat i didnt know where it was and he fricked off
I was trying to be clever. I suppose the optimal way is give the cat the fake. He probably wouldn't have dragged me to the forger for inspection
Thats how it works out. Cat gives you reward as normal. If you run into him again he tells you others found it was a fake but he just assumes you got duped as well. However he threatens to hurt you if he finds out that you did knowingly give him a fake.
>gave the cat guy the real jade oppaite
>give the forgery to the snooty guy
>nothing happened
I guess so. Did you bribe the forgery guy to lie for you?
I tried but I ran out of money before it was enough lol
>grabbed the cat and brought him over to the merchant
>he and his men attack the guy and kill him
Immediately after mentioning the orb the cat got caught and murdered in the street. Made it easy to give the rich guy his orb.
I just snuck into the women's side of the hot springs to bathe with my pawn, this is so good
Holy shit is this vanilla?
yeah, go to volcano hot springs
have modders removed the steam yet?
There's been 2 nude mods and one remove underwear mod since the character creator demo.
The steam is probably a just clothing item right? shouldn't be too hard to get rid of once its found.
>Riftstone of remembrance
>Talk to generic bimbo mage pawn I had for a bit
>She asks if we've met before
>Talk to fighter girl pawn I had with me for hours and put in good work
>She comments on how strong I've gotten since she last saw me
I had this moment there. I found it while going to Battahl for the first time and all my pawns brined themselves when i took a harpy ride to the tip of the cape.
>Spend all of my 20s with a healerfu pawn

>Main Pawn is now a super powerful sorcerer and my party is basically just two front liner pawns while we hang in the back and nuke
>Happen upon Riftstone of Rememberence
>"I've missed you, Arisen! Look how you've grown!"
Why are we not allowed to enjoy this feeling anymore?
>wake up in bed
>pawn tells me she came back from other arisin
>says she feels abused and experienced trauma that she needs to unpack
The frick are you guys doing to my cat?
UHHH BROS
MY PAWN JUST SAID SOMETHING KINDA PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE
he got the dragon aids
I like how they can b***h about other arisen
Its a neat feature and makes them a little more colorful. I need to check the travelogue more as they just keep talking about all women parties and how one had different ones in their private room every night.
What does it mean when they hire your pawn but don't like it or give it a heart?
either
a: Your pawn fell into water or off a cliff or wasn't revived in time before fading, giving no chance to give a rating or gift (most likely)
or
b: the person that hired your pawn is a c**t that never gives ratings or gifts to anyone ever
The self-depreciating assumption is that they didn't like your pawn but realistically I don't think that happens very often because hosts can already see all the stats and abilities of a pawn before they hire them
>mfw pawn returns with a weed and no rating
>pawn mentions suffering much cruelty at the hands of the arisen
why do they hate her
I just gave no rating and a rotten fish to a pawn because it kept using fire enchants when I got to the volcanic isle where everything resists fire thus making us do less damage instead of using its fricking attacks
They probably brined themselves
I didn't happen across any complaints yet, but there have been am amusing comment
>>As a matter of fact
>>One of my previous masters only hires women, I wonder why that is
I've gotten some pawn banter on exhibitionist arisen
Rangers tights shows off my lovely legs and my pantsu, don't judge me
>Hire a mage Pawn from level 10 all the way to level 30
>Cute appearance, very useful, modestly dressed
>Lose her from some weird incident where I got knocked into the water and all of my Pawns disappear
>Eventually meet her again
>Now dressed like a turbo bawd
Bros...
Magic archer is so kino bros
I love hurling fricking ice boulders at enemies, knocking them over
>36 hours in
>no major issues since release
>change job to trickster
>suddenly the game starts crashing
guess I'm the one getting tricked
any follow ups to what is in this anons?
how soulful it would be if it were only maxed chest and rear sized pawns
it's literally for big breasts it's not hard to figure out
yeah but i want to see pictures holy frick
Has anyone been able to make DD2 work on Linux? I finally managed to get through the start up logos, but when I git start game I hit a black screen. Im using nvidia-550.67-1 drivers for what its worth.
Unironically try /r/linux_gaming and GloriousEggroll since he's like Atlas holding the whole Linux gaming scene on his asian shoulders
>fighting a golem as trickster
>no bandit pawns
this class fricking blows man
>run into your natural enemies
>Somehow it's the game's fault
Get gud. It was the same with the first game. Hell nothing says you can't leave and go get different pawns.
The class screams "i am a debuffer with Torpor and Miasma" but no, it absolutely nothing instead.
I gotta ask: Is there any place to find medusas in endgame? I've fought god knows how many dragons, chimeras and whatever else but I haven't fought any medusas besides the one in the forest.
Where the frick is the Magic Archer trainer!?
its the elven chick in the island house in the far south, you have to save her husband in a really painful escort quest
Frick it's been 10s of hours and I'm still around the first city. I guess that's going to be a NG+ Vocation.
I mean there's nothing stopping you from just running down there, unlocking the class, then ferrystoning back up to Vernworth
What trainer for the special vocations is the easiest/earliest to find if I don't wanna do that?
you can get mystic Spearhand pretty early by doing the drake fight at harve and talking to the Spearhand homie after
magic archer and trickster are both in battahl
hmm. Looking at the location, following the road will take ages. Wonder if there's any shortcuts down there.
not really, there's a door that opens up in Bakbattahl during the MSQ but before that its really just the long road
It is going to be in one of the last zones you will find unless you know and have the balls to walk the hard way there from the game start.
I just can't fricking click with the archer in this game. Strider and Ranger both felt amazing back in DDDA.
aiming controls feel off, you shoot with the same button as aim now, which doesn't feel as good. Also I miss fivefold flurry
Abandon aiming.
Embrace dash/jump trickshots with the ring which gives more damage on close shots (dash trickshots do a frickton of damage and stun).
You just need to use aim shot at a weak point once, then your next auto aim shots will target that same spot every time.
What weapons and skills are you using on warfarer?
I got ricochet and ice boulder on magick bow and skull crusher on daggers, then a staff for levitation
Ice storm and Explosive flare from Sorcerer
Aromatic whatever from Trickster
Yeah I’m boring
Haven’t unlocked it yet but I think I’ll mix mage for palladium, sorcerer for twin casting with pawns and magick archer for hitting the sticky bombs sorcerer pawns cast. And since it’s three magic weapons it makes the augments easy to slot in.
>do a few escort quests with elf princess
>normally just lug her around if I have to over my shoulder
>get affinity high enough she starts blushing
>whenever I pick her up now I princess carry her while she just enjoys it
They thought of everything
How do I princess carry my pawn instead.
I think your heights need to be different enough
Is she an actual romance like Ulrika and the gypsy prostitute?
Killed the last boss just 2 minutes ago
It was disappointing, everything was so abrupt and the fight was way too easy. I expected a fight with several phases but it was just a stationary "le big monster" fight. Literally killed him without getting hit.
Goblin’s Dogma
Bro dude it’s a slop game you expected a good encounter
how do I set a pawn quest?
I accidentally backed out of the last prompt and now my pawn is questless
no one wants a pawn with no quests
At one of the main rift stones
thanks homie
What are some good arisen/pawn combinations? I was thinking of aiming for magick archer with a warrior pawn, but I feel like I'd struggle without a good mage to heal/cure status effects. I know I can just hire pawns but I kinda want a my arisen and main pawn to be able to handle anything on their own.
any
just hire other pawns to fill out the party
I've completed 4 vocations so far and so has my pawn
you can really do anything and have your support pawns do whatever else is needed.
Thief/Thief/Thief/Thief
>fighting a drake at a rivers edge
>get it down to last health bar
>it knocks the entire party into the brine
>I respawn alone
>solo the last health bar
>with a single hit remaining, it flies up into the air and ground stops into the water
>I get no loot
thanks
FOOLED YOU
THAT'S DRAGON'S DOGMA, BABY!
>Bandit stole a wakestone shard from me
>Pawns too stupid to hit him
>He pops smoke and fricks off
okay
>meet the dwarf + elf couple
>elf gives me an escort quest
>"alright that seems low effort but maybe this is how I learn elvish"
>take her to Battahl
>suddenly get achievement for maxing out a character's affection
>pic related
What the frick is this, I don't want some loose elven hag that cheats on my dwarf bro, get the frick out of here. Is there some way to lower affection or should I just throw her into the brine?
Learning elvish is ez you just need 3 flowers and to make it to their city
I got to their city with dozens of flowers in my inventory and didn't learn shit.
give the inn keeper a flower, rest a day, repeat
3 flowers over 3 days and she should gift you the scroll
Not the innkeeper, anyone but her, her being an innkeeper overwrites her ability to give the scroll.
I literally just got it from her I promise it works
I gave her so many flowers over so many days, and her face basically turns run anytime Im in the city and she refused to give me anything. I swear this game just does not function.
that's fricked yeah maybe it's a glitch
or maybe check your storage that you don't already have one sitting in there from who knows when
Nah I just gave up and went to another elf and got it after 2 sets of flowers. Its just strange and I assume the NPC need to stay in place and provide service overwrote the affection.
you have to give flowers to an elf once a day for three days to get the scroll, then you use the scroll on your pawn and they become a translator
child cat needs correction
The escort quests are randomly generated and can have miserable locations. I don't know if it is possible to cancel them. So far all of them have gifted me flowers as a reward.
they will always gift you flowers after the escort, it means you have max affinity
there is a chance they will give you other gifts when you see them again
Dragon Covid is a cool game mechanic ngl.
Had some guy kill like four ogres with her.
my pawn has played the game more than I have and I made him in 10 minutes
How do you check how long your pawn's played the game for dude?
I just mean he's killed more bosses than I have
when do I get a better fricking greatsword goddamn it
>138 days
can I take as long as I want before beating the game? does it affect the ending in any way?
how do I get people to use my pawn 🙁 he's a big fella with a big sword...
Make him sexy
I made Billy Herrington pawn named Aniki, he gets used some, but hes not super popular, but hes my bro all the same.
that's based. that's so based. If I ever see him I will grab him.
pawn quest, bribe them
give him skills and augments that aren't shit
I am level 50 and frequently see pawns with a single ability and no augmented wearing starter gear
I don't know how the frick you can play the game that much ignoring basic mechanics
make him le funny green man
Your graphics make this look like a Warcraft 2 cutscene and it's somehow more soulful.
>almost make Warcraft Orc pawn
>get worried that the gaps on his shoulders, hips and hands where huge greenskin tattoos don't reach spoil the appearance
>keep his dark, dirty skin, pointy Orc ears, scars, and change out his green coverage for other tatoos
>surprisingly satisfied with the resulting elder warrior look
Now I just gotta put some decent skills in his rotation and throw him to the masses.
No shot of him because I'm a dirty phoneposter
10k gold for kill quests.
You advertise on Ganker. Hire my pawn. MFVE8EGAMVSQ
Very cute, will hire.
And now that you've gone and opened up that can of worms, I suppose I'll post mine here as well. You'll have to forgive the lack of fashion on her-- it's a work in progress that requires more gold than I currently have.
PC/NA
SJA0ML9MKFV3
Thanks. Your pawn is cute, too. Luckily thieves and archers can wear whatever they want since they aren't suppose to take damage.
>he
found your problem
So is the only missable maister vocation skill the fighter one? The rest can be got at any time, even if you've already spoken with/done the quest for the NPC that gives it but you weren't the vocation for it at the time?
I need to know for sure before I walk into Nameless Village as not a thief and miss the skills because you can't come back as one and get the skills later
you can get meister skills without ever playing the vocation
alright, thank you.
Also you might have to go get his glasses, they are really simple to get
Get his glasses you big dummy. Then talk to him again. Don't forget to copy it.
And progress the story? Not before Im done exploring
him getting his glasses doesn't progress shit
I thought I needed to attend the maskerade, can I just get them outside that quest?
masquerade isn't a one time event, they just happen
I'm not even sure that building is locked
the glasses are in a side room next to a chest, nothing triggers by walking in the building, and just going down the hallway to pick them up
You're fine at that point. The game will literally tell you when it's about to progress the story. Hell I'm not even sure you need to do the question. Could just walk in there and grab them.
>sphinx riddle
>go into nearbt cave and deliver what i find
>rotten apple
theres another chest
You FAIL
My in-progress Dark Elf pawn. Is she cute enough? I kind of want to start the game already...
That's a BLACK Elf, not a Dark Elf.
Taller female pawns only
Big Woman!
what's the optimal vocation for my pawn if I want to dress her up in lots of loose clothes?
Any dogs?
>raid bandit's hideout
>kids trying to escape
>bandits acting like I'm the bad guy
Huh???
The coral snakes one right? Felt like I missed some backstory when some of the bandits were able to be wakestoned.
the bandits are the bad guys, they're just manipulating the moronic twink Hugo
Can you side with the bandits if you refuse the quest to find them?
I've been playing DD2 12 hours a day since launch, feels just as fun as when I played the first game when it released on consoles. I hope the game does well enough we get a third game within a decade.
I cannot believe how fast time flies after a DD2 session
I will kill an many dragons as I have to in order to get Mercedes back.
FRICK the seneschal and FRICK the eternal cycle
I just hope we get an expansion adding a third zone with more vocations. Just got to Battahl and I'm loving it.
hello David
I think you got the wrong guy anon
My only complaints are
>Fricked up character creation, "no new game" button sucked. Got it sorted.
>FPS tanks in Vernworth.
>Hi-five bugs out sometimes
>found some floating trees
>some ideas feel half baked
>MK is kill
Everything else is great. A lot of the aspects of combat are better than DD1. I'm still pretty early on, but it's been fun. Exploration is basically fricking first time going through Skyrim kind of huge.
I know you guys are still playing the game and having fun (so am I) so you aren't ready to talk about it yet but:
The set of vocations you get in 2 is shit compared to 1.
Nah moron bro. I like having playable vocations that aren't just assassin and magick archer.
I will say that sorcerer got gimped thoughever.
While I agree for the most part, Pawns are much, much, much better now than they used to be. And that's kind of a big deal.
Pawns being much, much, much better also saps dozens of FPS. Need it or keep it?
Sneed it and feed it
I've got a 6gb GPU and the game runs just well enough with tweaks that I ain't even worried about it.
Battahl enemies are noticeably more resistant to knockdowns than vermund, they can actually fight back. but I haven't been there long, so who knows if the first shop I go to will give me gear to start fricking them up again.
I think the actual world of DD2 feels a lot better. Beyond just being bigger, the increase in caves to explore makes it feel like there's more to find
It really could have used more proper dungeons, or crypts, or areas like the old battleground. Too many caves for my liking.
Well that's fricking moronic. Not having the ledge to get there faster - that's neat, but why the frick lock the door from the inside of the cave?
You can use sorc flare to open locked doors 🙂
Duly noted, ty.
Still a stupid design decision to lock that door anyways
wut
how many locked doors are there outside the gaols
There are at LEAST 2-3 that I can recall around the world. There's nothing special behind the ones I've opened, but figuring out how to open them is satisfying nonetheless.
oh shit
neat
I think he means ones that are locked with a bar on one side of them
Unless they release a roadmap of free updates, i already see them nickel'n'diming access to MN once the expansion drops.
>nickel'n'diming access to MN once the expansion drops.
FOR ONLY $30 DOLLARS YOU CAN ENJOY THIS
Its way better than one in so many ways apart from difficulty, where DD2 is a lot easier. and vocations are way more fleshed out.
The only thing that should be improved is giving us more assigned skills, because its rough for getting good elemental coverage but even then the increased amount of core skills is a great boon. Mages get fricking anodyne as a core skill somehow. Really strong stuff.
DD1 is also very easy bro
>DD1 is also very easy bro
Exactly my point my dear anon. Im literally fricking invincible, anodyne heals me faster than ogres and cyclops can damage me, and palladium combined with deflect means that i can go toe to toe with big monsters until they stagger.
My only weakness right now is stamina.
>and vocations are way more fleshed out
fricking how
They're going to add all this with the DLC, I'm calling it now. There's probably going to be multiple DLCs this time.
YouTube and influencers have made people incapable of enjoying video games.
>give pawn a thong
>give them a skirt
>issue "go" command
>enjoy the show
Why is it considered morally wrong to love your pawn again?
They can't say no
>A-arisen, are you sure we shou-
Im trying spearhand, the concept is cool but the execution is poor.
The whole vocation relies on overloading the enemies and teleport to them but it easy to either miss the shot or the teleport.
The shield is a very nice thing to have tho
>steam cloud frick between my laptop and main pc
>20 hours lost
it's over for me
Itsuno's vision has been achieved.
Can you swap between pawn specializations once you have more than one? Mine speaks elvish and I want to try the others but all the scrolls are single-use.
Nope, you'd need another Elven scroll. No so bad for that one, considering you can get it from any elf.
>Escort mission
>Griffin comes down
>"WATS GUD homie"
>casting a spell
>pawn yells "watch out!"
>yeah that's lightning
>wait is that an AoE
>get oneshot
Honestly, I'm glad they aren't pulling any punches. That was fricking hilarious to experience.
I love the weird gimmicky shit in this game
I love breaking my neck for Ganker posts
i'm sorry
I won't forgive you
Art of metamorphosis is a consumable item.
its is consumed based on account, not by save. Loading to last inn will not give it back.
I might be moronic but what is actually the point in all those statues you see scattered about the map? I can't seem to actually be able to interact with them in anyway and my pawns call them out whenever they see one but I don't get why.
They face in the direction of locations of interest, usually.
>finish sphinx quest
>run around for an hour wondering why i'm doing no damage
>the weak should fear the strong
do we know if my friend will be able to hire my pawn if i progress into ng+ and he's still in ng? very hard to find any info about ng+ other than the things that carry over...
>accidently jump off a tower to a height that will very clearly kill me
>"oh shit bout to die"
>my fricking pawn catches me before I hit the ground saving me from taking any damage
I did not know they could do that.
It's pretty neat when they do it when you get thrown from a Griffon or a Drake.
they can help you jump across gaps too, but it's almost never useful at all because they have to be on the side you're jumping to
I'm pretty sure you can throw your pawns further than you can actually jump yourself.
i blushed irl the first time that happened because a big cat lady caught me in a princess carry motion before setting me down
Man, I wish there were an mechanic for sacrificing exp/levels for vocation points or maybe even gold, bacause not only hate getting overleveled, but I also feel like I dont get as many pawn hires as I did in when I was sub level 25 and I got a taste for living parasocialy through my pawn.
You might be undergeared.
Talos was one of the most insufferable piles of shit that I've sat through in quite sometime, bravo.
Guys, I'm level 38 and still haven't killed a dragon.
Is that normal?
I get stomped every single time I try.
Once I came close then the homosexual flew away.
What vocation?
Wait hold up you can get to battahl without going through the checkpoint town or having a pass? Just found the cave that leads to it randomly Okay that's kinda neat. Also not sure if it's because my arisen is min height but he's been dickstabbing everything with the mystic spearhand's heavy attack finisher on stunned standing enemies.
What's a good set of of vocations to have in my party to cover my bases with exploring?
a mage to heal
frickin whatever else it doesn't matter at all
I don't mean for combat. I mean for getting to hard to reach places.
the only thing that will help you reach those places is levitating as a mage
I thought prerelease they said you could ask your pawns for a boost but I've never seen it
fighters and warriors get the team boost abilities if you know something I don't
Telling a warrior or fighter pawn with the appropriate skill to go will have them boost you.
Mage sorc warrior will beat the game for you.
I cant find anywhere online how the romance system has changed, are there dedicated npcs now? Can you still romance any npc you come across? Is there a more deadset way to choose your partner so you dont get a rando merchant tossed at you?
meow milk
Ring to choose your beloved, anyone can be your belvoed except children. There are certain important characters with "sex" scenes
>anyone can be your belvoed except children.
For now
based glad I wasn't the only to notice the fat titty gato
Loss Gauge is one of the worst mechanics I've ever seen in a videogame. Instead of fixing DD1's dogshit healing system, they instead put this garbage in.
moron
Git gud 🙂
Equipping the Physical/Magic damage negation augments you also take less loss gauge. I can kill five dragons in a row without resting. There's also the warrior augment to decrease it if you're too much of a moron.
>you can enter the female section of the hot springs
GOTY
Are there cool caves and dungeons and shit? I much prefer that type of stuff then just hoofing it around the over world.
quite a few caves, most aren't huge but they're all over
>quite a few caves, most aren't huge but they're all over
Oh shit nice I like stumbling upon that type of stuff plus it being smaller is a positive to me. Get in and get the frick out I say.
How the frick do you lower the ladder to the north of Melve that connects to the Elven forest?
The cave that should lead you to that ladder has a barred door that can only be opened from the side with the ladder.
This is pissing me off more than it should
Elf quest
I went to that cave for the elf quest to save the girl from the troll, but that door never got opened. Is there a separate elf quest you're talking about?
O wait, I'm thinking of the wrong ladder. I never figured that one out either.
>How the frick do you lower the ladder to the north of Melve that connects to the Elven forest?
I used an Harpy beacon but unless I missed something there were doors locked on both sides
I spent like 2 hours in that location looking for a way to do it
To the right there's a small ledge you can levitate on.
The first time I went there to do deliver some letter by the time I decided to turn back she had 5 or 6 in her inventory.
>vendor scumming with gold exploiting
elaborate, is there a way to exploit vendors?
assuming you just want crystals play a thief, use the ring that weakens your attacks and just whack the motherfricker with light attacks.
I think they spent most of their time on vermund and then capcom told itsuno to wrap it up so he can churn up DMC6 or something. there are only about 2 missions involving their queen/priestess.
maybe im fricking moronic but I just realized there is a built in clock on the pause menu
the ring around the map shows a sun that represents noon, and the top is the current time
I keep seeing people talk about the clock mod so i guess there are a lot of other morons out there including the guy who made the mod
the clock mod also tells you how many days passed in-game not just the time. some quest makes you wait x amount of days and its easy to lose track.
i am also moronic
When I go to NG+ do I get to customize my pawn and my character? Or do I have to do it beforehand
Has anyone noticed you can decapitate Golems now? I'm not sure what triggers it but the first time it happened surprised me
Yeah. Managed to do it during the dwarf quest to carry him to the healing pools. And the head will still keep shooting lasers that you can use if you aim at something. I think it has something to do with causing the Golem to crumble into pieces during the fight, then it fails to get his head back.
Oh thats really cool, so far they died pretty soon after the head came off
So let me get this straight.
All the npcs are demanding high CPU usage while doing stupid shit like a cat fight in a bar while I go off and get my head caved in by a minotaur?
Yep, just like real life.
Can I get a quick rundown? From the brief footage I've seen it looks just like DD1 with better graphics
It's ARPG RE Engine.
So besides blowing 20k at the brothel is there anything it does? Like is there an actual premium membership or is it just 20,000 gold for nothing?
>No paladin vocation
>No cleric vocation
Frick off paladingay, go play WoW for big pauldron circlejerks
>no summoner vocation
>no monk vocation
>no summoner vocation
Technically trickster, even if it's all just illusions.
>pawn gets Cyclops and Ogre badges
>whenever they get staggered now they start pulling on their leg causing them to fall to the ground
Is that the gate to pawn knowledge now?
I hope not, though recently I started playing mage and now my Pawn actually has started giving useful advice on elements.
>offer 10k for ogre kills on my pawn quest
>no one ever does it
im gonna have to do it myself
i might do 0 damage but this class is fun to play with
Mystic Spearhand should've had a dodge.
It does, the ability where you launch into the air and come back down gives you I-frames and increases damage when you "dodge" an attack when you use it.
you have a dash, a jump and an invincibility shield. another dodge would have been clutter.
mystic archer should have levitate, why not, it's already a god
>get to frickdark woods
>undead everywhere
>obviously evil glowing shit in the middle
>fog doesn't clear, and it's still as dark as brant's asscrack
Oh I hate this place.
All of the vocation maisters feel like they should be the people who teach you the vocation or give you some early tips or something, not be the endgame for them
Lacks soul
>carry old man to the spa
>YOU CAN NOW BE A MAGICK ARCHER
thanks Itsuno
>Warrior with Celerity
what the actual frick is this crack?
Crack is windstorm slash
im level 25 and need two pawns shill your pawn bawds to me
I dont want to play anything other than thief.
Friendly reminder that sharing your pawn with others = getting cucked
>t. nobody wants his pawn
You can keep her.
>eceleb on YouTube making "guides"
>he doesn't even know Easy Kill works on bosses
Kind reminder the only person to trust for DD stuff is Nihil0.0. Especially now that Fextra gobbled the wiki up.
fextra is just spamming videos for the algorithm
Does smoke bomb let you use easy kill?
My McGonagall.
>Start game with griffin buddy that saves your life
>Ulrika kills it
>You're supposed to like her
No frick you

>>You're supposed to like her
she's kind of moronic and the game mostly rewards her for it. i prefer the elf waifu.
elves talk like native americans who have never left the reservation
I ran through the checkpoint into battahl when it opened and the guards chased me until I got attacked by a griffin. then night fell and a golem lurched out of the darkness joined by some wolves and spirits. having a blast.
3 Sorcerer pawns
1 Warfarer Arisen (Sorcerer with just Anodyne+Palladium)
We're gonna spellsync in your face and there is NOTHING you can do about it
Man I just came back to the capital to do some shopping and get my gear enhanced the vermund way the actual hell is this butthole doing here. Screw this I'm ferrystoning out before someone becomes a casualty of this jerk
Frick these guys. Even at lvl30 I still get 1 shot by almost every attack they have
>he doesn't KNOW
look up dragon pawn disease. basically that entire town NPCs are dead now. gg.
moron
Did any streamers have that pawn dragon disease frick them over? please tell me there is clips of it
>r9 5900x
>4080
>thought I'd probably be fine, how bad could it really be?
>get to vernworth
>dips into the low 30fps range occasionally
holy shit it's actually THAT bad huh
game is fun despite that but man this is pretty rough
Funnily enough I found turning off bloom to be one of the biggest performance gains
love my pawn wife
Bro what the frick even ARE Pawns? How do they work?
>supposed to exist solely serve the arisen
>hundreds of pawns wandering around not giving a frick about the arisen
>sit in towns but apparently aren't really true citizens of that town
>pawns can be any race, even ones disconnected from the other races
They're the ones who never even got to the Dragon's Dogma™, they died before that part.
does different loot spawn in chests depending on your level? did I frick myself by looting a shitload of chests while I was low level?
Your S tier class sir. You DID beat the game.
>ensnares you and slits your throat
kino fricking vocation assassin could NEVER be this cool
>made my pawn a thief
>give him steal skill
>he randomly fricking mugs and ganks guards in the city
topkek
>hear people complaining about the desert mobs spamming you with enemies
>Can one shot everything with a single smoke bomb
Why would people complain about that? I appreciated actually having to activate a handful of neurons in combat encounters for a change. I wish the enemy counts in general were doubled throughout as well as their damage and health
Because the combat in this game is boring as shit
if you dont like the combat what are you even playing the game for
Gooning
Some vocations get stun locked easily
getting stunlocked is literally the only way the game can challenge the player in its current state.
The more I play this game the more I genuinely hate it
At the late game regions its non stop stun lock until you are close to death, so fricking moronic
>be archer
>enemy gets close to me
>proceed to literally get the shit kicked out of me while stunlocked on the floor
they really shouldve given archer some kind of dodge skill or something
The running slide and jump kicking off an enemy kind of serve that, but they take a second or two of setup, so you have to see the enemy coming. Don't really mind it since archer isn't supposed to be up close if you can help it. I think Sorc gets a pretty good stagger resist augment so maybe try that if it bothers you.
>GOD TIER

>HIGH TIER
>Mystic spearhead
>mage
>MID TIER

>LOW TIER

Trickster
My guy, a single loaded flare from a Sorcerer can nuke three full healthbars from a dragon.
>anything in the same tier as trickster
I know sorc got nerfed compared to 1 but it is absolutely not shitty.
Dumb list. I go out of my way to never hire Sorcerer pawns because they trivialize every fight.
Is there a mod that removes the dishonest health reduction?
what does this even mean
The dumb Loss shit. I'm sick of this dying in one hit "gameplay".
unironically git gud, game is ez
Camping kits are reusable. Use them.
Yes, here:

is there a follow up to the coral snakes questline? i heard from some npcs that they moved location to the ancient battleground but im not finding shit here.
i progressed the quest with hugo and he went to go get revenge on them
i showed up and killed the coral snakes boss instantly and then hugo talked to me and it was over
>didnt tell him about his parents
>now hes working at the prostitute house and says hes different now and doesnt care for revenge
well shit
entire questline is bugged to shit. and no one knows even why.
I want to frick this crazy nun
>femrook
homie u might just be closeted homosexual
It's her personality (femme fatale + crazy) that makes her attractive, not her face.
>Where does she go if you release her?
IDK. I didn't release her. The game just bugged out and spawned her outside of her prison cell.
Where does she go if you release her?
Am I the only one that just uses Warfarer to wear cool armor while using the other vocations? The vocation seems pretty shit if you try to use it any other way.
Outside of mage, what are the best vocations to give pawns?
As good as thieves are, I feel like pawns kind of use them moronicly, and they're ESPECIALLY bad at warrior
>and they're ESPECIALLY bad at warrior
false, my big muscle b***h dominates everything and staggers bosses to shit
Archer is good as background support DPS because they have autoaim
However Sorcerer is probably the best because they blow shit up
Nah pawns suck shit at archer in this game. Probably because they don't use the vocation action, they just mash square. They were much better in the first game where they snipe things in the weakpoint every time because they have no choice but to aim the bow.
just do dual caster pawns. Sorc + mage pawns will carry your ass.
>Pilfer
What? How?
>put Pilfer on thief pawn
>pawn will now automically steal gold, ferrystones and wakeshards for you
Enemy thief bandits can do it to you as well. Your stolen items will appear in the scrap shop.
Thieves have a skill that lets you steal items from monsters. It can steal some pretty good shit like wakestone shards with surprising frequency.
It only triggers when the enemy is knocked down but I just gave my thief the grappling hook which knocks down enemies
Game is boring as frick so glad I finished this slop so I can go back to valkyria chronicles.
>already less than 200K players on steam
ohononono hahahahhahaaaaa
Is thief the most broken vocation? I maxed it and just haven't touched it because I can't help but abuse pyre and kill bosses in 10 seconds. Nothing else has come close
Yeah its kind of moronic. Like they didn't even bother to playtest Thief.
Believe it or not magic archer outdamages thief.
Warrior is also extremely high damage while also doing unrealistic amounts of stun.
Spearhead is arguably the most broken not because of damage, but because your team is LITERALLY INVINCIBLE 90% of the time.
The most powerful vocation is mystic spearhand because they can make the entire party invincible for the entire fight while also doing decent damage. Or if you just want the best damage go with sorcerer using the master spells
Kill something immediately > gay bubble of attrition
Yes. The auto dodge combined with pyre can trivialize every fight. There is no reason to actually use the Immolate ability normally.

She runs away if you don't kill her in 10 seconds.
..youre joking right? i thought she was a whole ass boss fight? what the frick? frick itsuno holy shit
You're supposed to unmaking arrow her
You have no way of knowing this beforehand so if you don't have one you miss out and have to do it in NG+
doesnt that instantly kill her? whats the fricking point
>riddle themed monster
>even figuring out how to kill her is a riddle
the point is that it's kino
>mentions how no one has ever bested her in a fight so its fair to assume shes a really tough boss
>just b***hes out if you dont instantly kill her
>"k-kino"
yeah dude so kino in the game with like 5 different bosses.
>you need to use the arrow to kill her
No, anon is right. Killing her is a riddle. You using the arrow shows you're moronic and can't solve the puzzle.

If a rented pawn dies do they get nothing
a pawn that dies gets no rating or item, yeah. Usually if you get your pawn back without an item or rating you can assume it probably fell off a cliff or got brined since most people will at least gift some random crap in their inventory
>https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonsdogma2/mods/186
https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonsdogma2/mods/130
the game has unironically been fixed with two mods
>pcheats need to mod and cheat and hack
>can't just keep their filthy hands out of the games innards
This is why all games should be PS5 permanent exclusive, PC has a toddlers palate and cannot truly and responsibly appreciate video games the same way actual gamers do
>console players mad that pc players can tweak the game to their liking
i have a PS5 too but im not so poor that i cant enjoy both
>common Ganker complaint is when enemies are just bullshit damage bullet sponges
>mod makes enemies bullshit damage stab sponges
>this fixes the game
Don't see how.
The game is good besides the level scaling bullshit it has going on. It's REALLY bad. All it does is make the game a slog because to get anywhere you have to fight monsters that are tanky despite you having killed them 10 billion times.
>Get to Sacred Arbor
>Forget I don't have any pawns who speak Elvish
>Can't be bothered to raise affection with one to get the tome to learn it
If it was more prevalent in the game I'd care I guess, but then again its not like any of the other specializations are really that great either.
Hire my pawn.
So in the inevitable DLC just how many new vocations are we going to get? 3?
This is israelitecom, not effortcom. 2 at most and they'll be half assed ports.
>saw an elf archer with MASSIVE breasts
>title was "milk"
Yeah that cost me 380 RC but I don't regret it
well well looks like the game sucks after al that talk hoohoo
so i killed the dragon the credits rolled and put me to the title screen so clearly I missed something because that felt anti-climatic and shit and I expected something similar to DD1 after you kill the dragon are there required quests im supposed to do or something
I JUST STOLE A FERRYSTONE
Why do none of the sorc pawns in the rift have meteor or maelstrom?
no one finishes the sorc quest, no one can find those fricking books
Are the books at the bald dude's house in the checkpoint town?
it's kind of a pain in the ass to unlock those spells.
>wanting pawns to make the game easy for you
i found one on ps5
i put them on my pawn and got 1 hire in two days.
mine always had both since before i got to the desert, and the cast time rings
i also have beef with all the mage pawns having dogshit skills
but most of all what bugs me is how the popularity system is worthless because most useless pawns have lots of points, so i have to check skills each time
your pawn looks like she's hiding a colossal ass
hiding?
she is 198cm 105 kg
>mfw Seafloor Shrine
>spend an hour making a cute goth pawn
>open the rift for the first time
>half the female pawns look exactly like mine
post her
Post her NOW!!!!
Just ran into my second dullahan in the area with dragonforged and had no idea they could use a grappling hook. He brined all of my pawns and me with that and just barely beat him.
Bros, I had a small-medium sized pawn on warrior and my recent upgrade to her armor has her on permanently heavy
Should I reroll her bigger or should I just stop using hammer?
Put her through fighter to get Thew first because that gives you free weight and inhale the gold beetles. My tiny warrior girl has never gone above Light.
>lvl ~10
>just got to vernworth
>get a quest to get a letter to melve
>get on oxcart
>no 5 minutes out a griffin fricking crash lands into the cart and rips it to shreds
>fight it for 10 minutes, barely got one of its 4 health bars down
>it fricks off
>turn around
>some guards/pawns are fighting lizards and goblins
>help them out
>hear roar
>Ah there he is.
>That motherfricker.
>What a tool.
>griffin comes back for round 2
>low on resources and barely doing any damage to it but frick it, let's do this
>fight goes on for a few minutes
>griffin jumps to nearby riverbank
>bugs out doing the same flinch animation on a loop
>inches closer and closer to the water while flinching
>falls in
>brined
guess that's one way to kill it...
Glyndwr no longer appears of the map. I got distracted into a fight with a troll and I can't reach the Elf village, I'm screwed, but I don't feel like starting over from the 'last inn rest' which I don't remember when it was.
Okay I found my way to the Elf village but the NPC is just completely gone. I don't know where.
armor in bazekistan is too expensive how do i make the money?
raid the royal vault
i spent like a good hour looking for the vault in battahls capital and couldnt find shit aside the research lab
Stuff doesn't age in storage?
Nope
nah, I had like 70something of each ripe apple and grape in storage before i ran out of space after throwing in 5-10 ripe fruits per day
>before i ran out of space
you can run out of storage space?
apparently, i was surprised too
this game just gets moronicly janky at times
that wasn't a thing in the first game was it? or am I misremembering?
i dont know, i dont remember it being a thing in DD:DA, but last time i played that game was close to 10 years ago
There was technically a limit but it was unrealistically high, like 5000 unique item types or something like that. I picked up absolutely fricking everything and never got close to running out of space.
Magical fantasy refrigerators
does it matter who i sell to there?
i went to the armor merchant, it's possible this is limited to beastren merchant, but i havent tried selling it to other merchant in bazekistan
Exclusively hire pawns with 10k gold reward kill quests
Sell all your valuable gems in the region where they're rare to find, they sell for 2.5k+ gold each
Use thief pawns/be a thief that can steal, they can steal those rare gems from certain enemies
I'm currently sitting on 500k gold
sic 'em bo-
Does the voice acting in this game get any better? I just started and it feels like a huge step down.
Sounds like a personal opinion thing. I like the acting so far, especially for the pawns.
>there are two identical, ugly as frick npcs called Dante and Vergil
>identical
>been wearing women robes this whole time
god damnit
So I beat the game
And that's it?
That's it.
Why'd they make this.
wasted all my rift crystals on cool glasses 🙂
>sphinx isn't a fight
>talos is gimmick
>medusa is in one area and spawns every two weeks
>dullahan so rare he might as well not be in the game
>rock golem
great new content
>talos is gimmick
dont tell me you didnt saw that one coming from a mile just from the trailers
i want to frick my pawn
It's fricking over.
dragon aids or did you enact "Arisen is tired of your shit" scenario?
Dragon aids. I was curious what would happen if I didn't deal with it and assumed most companies knew better than to add a mechanic that could potentially brick your save.
it doesn't brick your save, you can always Wakestone the important people back
99% of characters don't matter just like irl
I think Sphinx gives AoE infinite use wakestone for NPC on completion of her quest, so it's not technically bricked
or you could just finish the playthrough for NG+ if you can't be assed to do that
How's performance?
>counterfeit ferrystone
wow thats fricking GAY
>give it to a rented pawn
haha based, the cycle continues
The eternal cycle of the seneschal is just one unending pass along of the counterfeit ferrystone that is the world.
The sphinx can duplicate any item once but you need to actually have the time with you for that. I think it's time for NG+
>Beren quest is bugged so I can’t get Arc of
This game is beginning to piss me off
bros can anyone confirm if inclinations really change pawn ai alot or not really? like calm for example ive been using it on my mage pawn but id like to change her to a thief or warrior, will she be more useless because of calm?
yeah they do
I hired a thief pawn that was fricking hyperactive jumping and sprinting everywhere versus a mage pawn that was calm and reserved
but have you hired a calm thief to compare? the thing is I dont want to change from calm because I like the voice. if my pawn performs worse because of it then it was stupid to tie voice to inclinations imo.
>but have you hired a calm thief to compare?
yeah I swapped out the adhd thief for a dark edgy masked sonic OC type and he's pretty calm in comparison
i think its more so vocation that determines their behavior. my pawn is calm and has been fighter/warrior all game and is aggressive as frick. i switched her to mage and she'd still do shit like pick up an enemy and throw them or pick up a boulder and just throw it at an enemy lol
>fighting Drake
>mage has both fire affinity and ice affinity
>she keeps saying "fire won't work well but ice will!"
>refuses to do the latter, only the former
Wait so... (ACTUAL SPOILERS AHEAD)
Is there really no Grigori fight in this? Does he really just show up in one cutscene, does some vastly inferior monologuing to the 11/10 he delivered in 1, and then gets Godsbane'd? There wasn't even a cool bossfight before it, just a clusterfrick of human enemies. Bros...
this homie followed a guide
Honest to god I did not. The game gave me a Godsbane and an interactive climbing part similar to 1, except I couldn't attack, and had free movement to crawl onto his chest where there was a giant, beating, glowing weak point just on all the drakes. 2+2=4
You watched a Youtube video of a guy getting the true ending. You fight him. He's 10x easier than any drake lmao what a joke
No. You should've just took the ride and listened to his monologue first.
You do the fight and ending over again.
Wonder if it's good exp.
Not that it really matters in this game with no hard mode or BBI.
>40 hours in, still in Vermund
starting to think I'm stupid for autistically going through everything making sure I don't miss anything instead of leaving them for subsequent playthroughs as a nice surprise
I'm having that issue too, instead of doing the quests that Idris Elba gave me I'm constantly trying to get to every headless statue I can see
what's the deal with the statues?, my pawns mention them all the time but I don't see them anywhere, what do they look?.
they're statues but without heads
They're usually located at good vantage point for you to survey the distance for curiosities. They'll also provide hints on location of caves.
After a pawn remarks on it, it should have become visible on minimap (exclamation mark)
CAPSHIT MONKEYS STILL SHILLING THIS SHIT?!
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAS
If it says 'No destination' to some quests does that mean I messed up and can no longer finished them?
best specialization?
Should I do anything before I do the coronation quest? I was told I need to progress the main story to get magick archer and I want it dammit.
Is there a good place to get a ton of Sunbloom? My pawn is obsessed with stabbing shit with explosive arrows and I can't craft enough to keep up.
they are super cheap, just buy them and sell the materials from monsters you hunt to keep a constant amount, losing time finding flowers is a bad idea.
>no mystic knight
>no good boss fights
>barely any cool locations, world feels AI generated
>game too cluttered with bullshit, pack of goblins/saurians etc every 10 steps, crafting shit and treasure chests with nothing but potatoes in them every 5 steps
>less equipment slots and less armor variety
>side quests are still either completely meaningless or very important but permanently missable
>no cool "endgame" dungeon like the everfall
>less monster variety
>movement feels insanely clunky slipping and sliding on every pebble or slight incline on the ground, pawns constantly run off of edges and die for no reason
they didn't improve a single aspect from dark arisen besides graphics
Dont compare it to DA, compare it to vanilla DD1 instead. Tho even then still falls short due to lack of a post game dungeon.
I'm pretty sure the Pathfinder is not actually the Seneschal. I think the Seneschal is actually the Beast guy who gives you the Godsbane. I think the Pathfinder is a different Godlike being that controls the Brine.
>just set your DD2 process priority to high in task manager bro
is it just me, or every time i see this recommended for a game, it never actually does shit?
at best it might just give you an extra 10% boost
OS scheduling, at least on sane OSes like Linux, adjusts based on CPU demand from the process. I would assume Windows does that by default too
So we all agree Itsuno is a fraud and this game sucks because warrior doesnt get AoD right?
what the frick. Im leveling warrior right now this cant be real.
its not real, arc of might is the meister skill. it does kinda suck, though.
It just modern Capcom things, just like Iceborne and Sunbreak did for MonHun i bet the future expansion for DD2 will be great. Thing is it shouldnt feel incomplete without it, which it totally does.
Do you love your Pawn and their multi-vocation mastery?
Fellas... Ngl. I'm a broke ass b***h with a negative bank account from all the woes of life... Who's Cobble do I have to gobble for a copy on steam?
Steam Name: Goofy's-Roofies
I'm poor as frick and haven't had a dollar to my name since 2019, kys.
Tbh that would probably be best 🙁
>attacked by griffin
>starts to fly away on low health but I manage to grab on
>flies almost entirely across the starting map
>have to keep eating stamina boosts as it flies over the castle and capital city
>blow up a powder blast over a forest that kills it but sends me flying
>caught by buff mommy pawn "a well placed strike will take down great foes"
>sleep at a camp and immediately woken by another griffin that flies me to its nest mid fight
>pawns sprinting to catch up and they come save my ass
>"it's hard work to keep up with a flying griffin Arisen"
God damn they juiced the pawn behaviour in this one
The pawns catching you is such a nice touch. My gato saved my life multiple times in the walking titan fight. I know the pawns basically teleport to directly under you to make it happen, but I don't care because it's really cool.
yeah I love the pawns, I liked them in the first game already and they're even better in this one
My pawns a straightforward female fighter who's smaller than me, I got a little doki doki when she casually saved my fall and says she's got me
so for anyone that's finished it, is it actually Dragon's Dogma 1 as it should have been or was originally intended?
I'm on the fence on buying this but might wait for a sale if its at least good, but finding any real feedback about the game is hard since its largely wanking over MTX and performance issues (which sure are problems but not fundamental in the long term).
its great but dont expect any replayability unless you plan to download hp modifier mods
did Itsuno at least implement the moon stuff?
lol
I'm not kidding, this concept rocks
What's special about this? It's just separate worlds unless the tower and moons themselves offer something cool.
You got a green area and a desert area.
Lol
moon was visible in prerelease footage but noticeably absent in final release, my guess is it wasn't ready in time for gold and will be added back in via DLC
do you have a recommendation for which mod versions to pick? NG+ is braindead ez
i havent fricked with any of it yet but i imagine enemy hp and damage modifier would be good enough. ill either wait for modders to implent shit like medusa and the sphinx as roaming bosses or just wait for the dlc.
No. It still feels unfinished. If you enjoyer the first game, it's just more of that.
it's like dragon's dogma 1.2 maybe
better graphics, different map, most systems are exactly the same
just more of the same which is great in a way but frustrating in another as there's barely any improvement on issues the first game had
they forgot most of what made the first game good and unique and just made a decent but middling open world action game. it's fun but it's not what it should have been
As someone who really enjoyed DDDA and played through all the content but once but was never autistic about builds etc, I'm having just as much fun with this one. If it wasn't for the shit performance I'd recommend everyone play it. I wish I'd just got a PS5 and Rebirth to tide me over until this game gets fixed cause experiencing this game for the first time with all the problems ironed out would have been incredible.
Is Itsuno the asian Peter Molyneux?
No, peter molyneux actually made some good games
The coastline, the sound of seagulls... reminds me of cassardis, where it all started.
minus the good music
music in 2 blows ass
This region and its road back to Vermund with the cliff ledges with small decorations made me feel inconfortable and weird for some unexplicable reason.
Maybe that is why.
>Those first posts
Is this a false flag thread?
>normal enemies are a trillion times harder than boss enemies
what is this design philosophy called?
went spearhand uh should i use infernal edge or fool's prize?
Why do i need a permit tp cross the border? How do I get one? There are quests I have to do in Battahl... but this guard won't let get past here without one.
you get sent there for the main quest, but there are alternate paths around this gate.
Looking at the map area, it looks like the INN is behind that gate for this middle town so I can't go to sleep.
the checkpoint town? Nah there's an inn near the entrance
