Then yes, it'd be a good decision. Battery life is way better, just know it's not going to be able to handle games the Ally can, so if you want more battery life out of DD2, it's a bad idea.
I know 2 people irl who have talked to me about their deck and they are both fat and balding
also I'm pretty sure neither one of them have used it outside in any capacity, they just like laying in bed with it or sitting on the toilet with it
Personally I think it's pretty sad
yep, many deckies are literal reddit manchildren and only have the device so they can play vidya 3 feet away from their pc in bed
modern smart phone already does everything the deck does and more
such a pointless fricking device
nah already love my steam controller. trackpads are legit if you’re autistic enough to move sliders around for literal hours. even made it a perfectly tuned steering wheel for racing sims
If the former, go ahead. Steam Deck has been great for me. Results seem to vary person to person, but it finally pushed me away from any consoles at all.
>but it finally pushed me away from any consoles at all
The deck has been fricking awesome, but making me realize I'm never going to get another console or deal with console bullshit again is probably the most important thing it did. It just made me realize how astoundingly shit something like the switch is in comparison and I've ended up not touching it since I got the deck.
>couldn't decide between this or the Ally Extreme
Ordered both, the one I like the least is getting returned
and this will work alongside a T480 already. I want something to use for a bit on the bed at night, and the laptop is a bit cumbersome for that.
If it was just for games and nothing but games, I'd probably just take the deck and call it a day, but it will be a jack of all trades instead, that blurs things a bit on which will do best, which is why I want to try both.
i honestly love my Steam Deck and it brought me back to enjoying vidya. it was a gift so i dunno if i would've bought it otherwise though. i still recommend it if you can deal with the bulkiness. as an emulation device alone it's worth it, but the steam compatibility and use as an actual PC give it a lot of value.
it's also become my go to way to play emulated shit on my TV. the dock is great and it works in a pinch for shit like jackbox games if that's your style.
mainly playing stardew, pizza tower, pokemon colosseum, outer wilds, super monkey ball 2, mario odyssey and persona 3 reloaded. its been nice broadening my horizons and having a proper dedicated gaming device to keep me from just scrolling Ganker all day.
that being said it's clear that if you like the concept you'll like the execution, if you aren't impressed by what you've seen or heard i don't thin anything can change your mind. it's really just how much value you think you'd get out of it.
Yeah, I had a similar experience. Though I bought one on a whim and was really surprised how much I liked it. It does help, that like you, I don't play any particularly high spec games.
I do have a PC for M/KB games, and if I do want to go wild with the specs, but it's pretty rare. Helldivers 2 has been the main one recently.
Also some porn game which does not run on Linux (barely runs on windows, honestly)
Summer Memories.
I am being completely honest when I say, I didn't realize it was a porn game. During the spring sale Steam said "You might like this" and so I bought it for a dollar. It's okay. All incest stuff which is not really my thing.
Good portable Steam machine, but holy frick is the desktop mode a trash fire. It can barely function as a computer, the Discover thing crashes constantly and even the browser can't connect to the Internet half the time.
I bought the Deck as a sidegrade to my 10yo PC and in the end I'm still using my relic.
I think it's gotten less stable overtime. That is also something I gave up on and just used my PC. I was trying to mod out Stardew after 1.6 came out, and the Desktop mode was so weird while running it through the Dock that I'm just playing on my desktop.
>but it finally pushed me away from any consoles at all

I don't mind consoles that much, I've traditionally played them. But as I get older there's very little I want. I played FFXVI, but there's not much else on the PS5 I care about. And Switch is Nintendo, which means it exists if you want to play Nintendo games. I haven't really like Nintendo games for about 30 years now, so that's whatever.
XBox is the XBox. I think it's a pretty solid interface, but it's a third party machine and I'd just play it on the Deck at this point.
Oh hey, I love that one.
I recommend checking out some of the side girls, they're not related to you.
Yeah. I'll play more at some point. I like the time management aspect of it. I like that older style of dating sim.
I'm pretty hopeful with the ROG as well. I have a Steam Deck, but I don't actually have brand loyalty and I hope some amount of ecosystem of PC hardware in this type of form factor will develop.
I expect to see better and better dedicated gaming systems release over the coming years, with the concept of the game console in general slowly dying out until everything is a glorified PC in a special box.
either way stuff like the ROG are gonna bring us closer to the world getting more interested in something like the deck, and once these types of devices are actually affordable, theyll hit a big market. literally every woman in a first world country has a switch with animal crossing new horizons on it which is more than enough evidence that casuals could jump on something like this.
I'm really curious to see where a Deck 2 can go from here. Gonna be interesting.
The Deck is kind of fun in and of itself because it just keeps improving and people keep adding cool features to it.
Valve won
Flopped + Shitted extremely badly as frick
>tfw no ick
The best
objectively, no
Objectively, YES.
>sold less copies than the NGage and barely more literal cardboard from Nintendo (LABO)
yeah, no.
>who gives a frick
Yeah, YEAH. Deck is THE BEST.
tendies' malding for 3 years straight
>steamies balding for 3 years straight
>Switch
yeah, we know you trannies love to play Switch games so much even on Deck
all i want is a diaperfur bf who isn't obese or hiv positive. is it so much to ask for?
u've come to the right thread
very common among deckies
nintend𐐬 fans are 99% furries
try your luck in Famitsu threads
what are some Steam Deck games that let you play as a boygirl with a soft bulge with occassionally cumming through your panties and cum driping down?
check dms sweetie
Thinking about selling my Rog Ally for a deck oled.
no one saying or doing this
many people saying this, unfortunate
>tendies pretending to care about the ally because the deck terrifies them that much
Ally also takes a steaming shit on the Switch you know
What for and how much do you think you can get for your Ally? I'll tell you whether that's a good idea or not.
The longer battery life is pretty much my biggest reason why.
Then yes, it'd be a good decision. Battery life is way better, just know it's not going to be able to handle games the Ally can, so if you want more battery life out of DD2, it's a bad idea.
i boughted
Pretty good for that price. But don’t expect to play big games for longer than an hour.
many people boughteding this and not boughting the steam deck
The good version is still $700, but good, this is what valve wanted, competition, getting more people into good affordable portable PCs.
>The good version is still $700
but enough about the steamie shit deck
Autism
Would have been better off picking up a 64gb deck and upgrading the storage
cant buy them anymore, and refurbs are botted by literal redditors
yep, i'm thinking deck sucks fricking shit
>couldn't decide between this or the Ally Extreme
Ordered both, the one I like the least is getting returned
enjoy ur ally then 🙂

>"modern smart phone already does everything the deck does and more"
>wasting your phone's battery and storage on games
Cringe also >touch controls
>waste battery
you literally aren't leaving the house
you aren't even sitting more than 3 feet away from your alienware PC
just stream it
>touch controls
oh, so you're shitposting ok
>"just stream it"
>wanting to deal with input delay
Cringe
>he thinks the steamie shithomosexual deck doesn't have input delay
my literal and actual sides
I’m buying a tb oled next monday and I keep watching performance vids. am excite for doom at 90/90
dont be, the controls are fricking shit
trackpads are an absolute gimmick
nah already love my steam controller. trackpads are legit if you’re autistic enough to move sliders around for literal hours. even made it a perfectly tuned steering wheel for racing sims
look how quickly they go into defense mode and call it a 'skill issue'
pretty obvious to all what the real issue is here
git gud
gayt
>trackpads are an absolute gimmick
not really.
>trackpads are an absolute gimmick
filtered
Steam controller settings and gyro are godly, if you think the trackpads are a gimmick that's on you.
unironically considering getting one as a cheap "laptop" lmao
Just for playing games or do you really want it as a laptop? Because if the latter, just a refurbished thinkpad.
If the former, go ahead. Steam Deck has been great for me. Results seem to vary person to person, but it finally pushed me away from any consoles at all.

got an OLED in december and it's just been collecting dust ever since
probably should have refunded it but i can't be arsed now
Timestamp the dust with your finger and post the picture
