recently i hear about this game called syndicate from 2012 published by ea. apparently it got warm reviews and never sold well. hardly anyone even talks/talked about it. i wanted to try it but couldnt find shit on any trackers or csrinru. ea isnt even selling it on origin. i managed to get it, i forget where by now
I played little of that on the 360. It seemed alright, but I didn't have time to delve further in. No game deserves to die, especially a damn single player game.
I know it isn't. They made 2 back compat though. Why they do this? They have sequels but not the originals, or in the case of Skate you can play 1 and 3 but not 2 on Xbone. Super sad.
They probably only had the rights for the 2nd game for some reason. Shit like this happens all the time because of stupid copyright laws. Streaming services are horrible about this and it's why its a nightmare trying to marathon anything in the digital age when Netflix or Hulu only has a set number of movies in a franchise or sometimes only 1 or 2.
More and more AAA games from the last few years have huge portions of their content locked behind company-owned servers. It might take a decade or more for it to happen, but we could easily see certain multiplayer games by EA or Ubisoft rendered completely unplayable just because they pull the plug on some of their backend servers.
Just take a look at Titanfall and the long stretches of time in which the game is literally unplayable because the matchmaking servers keep getting DDOSed. The point if failure is completely out of your control as a user.
that's not really delisting, just an ending of server support
I wish EA and similar companies would give the community the tools they need to maintain these games but they don't because they're greedy fricking israelites
Not that anon but there are SP games that require a server connection (sometimes even always online) that will suffer the same fate. Some already have. DarkSpore for example is unplayable now because of this.
There's single player games like the new Hitman ones that don't even let you unlock stuff if you're not connected to their servers. So when they go down you'll never get anything except the starting weapons, equipment, suits and spawn points.
Wait huh? I thought that you could buy this game on steam. Just checked and it says something that it has been removed and needs an update? can anyone tell me why?
it uses GFWL and i don't think they can generate new keys from Microsoft.
GTA IV and Battlestations Pacific were delisted for similar reasons. Lost Planet 2 and Colonies will probably be gone in the future.
you can, the keycode is to active the game in GFWL. GFWL is totally abandoned my MS so I doubt their making new keycodes for games, but the service still kinda works.
you can crack GFWL out of the game or just use an offline account.
an interesting case of this is Firefall
game had years of servers paid for, yet the company cut the cord because they wanted to transform it into a mobile game appealing to Chinks
you can do it this way but you won't be able to save your progress, good luck playing all of Battlestations Pacific in one sitting lmao
there are solutions out there for every game, whether a MS game or Ubishit game. just have to find it.
you should be able to save your game with an offline 'local' account on gfwl.
there's also catspaw GFWL emulator, but yeah different games have different issues with saving if you use this
Did these morons even make the game F2P after release? If you're going to let your game drown by competing head to head with Blizzard, the least you could do is some CPR after the fact.
I played the frick out of this from gamefly when it came out. Went up against someone with the Kane skin and made him rage quit after killing him when he tried to betray me and then waiting for him to spawn as a cop and killing him again. Only game i ever had that much confidence in. It's like ppl were shit at aiming besides me. It was like my gaming highlight but I also I lost interest when I realized some shitter was guarding the achievement. Apparently there is a group ofpeople that been actively blocking achievement autists from getting those achievements for like 15 years straight.
it kills me that you can pretty much only buy this game on PS2 physically. i have 3 copies of it, but i would love to play it on something that isnt an emulator.
>game publisher got out of the game industry at the end of the PS2 gen and refuses to sale or rent out the rights to the few game series they own >the developers are scattered to the 4 winds >each of the Shadow Hearts games easily go for $100+ now >1 fan recently improved the graphics on Covenant and released it online to download
what does "delisted" mean
underrated post
Not available for sale anywhere, except for used physical copies, likely due to publishing issues.
Easy, R.U.S.E.
hard to get that game nowadays, and it was a good fricking game
So much better and fun to get into than the autistic fricking Wargame series they replaced it with.
pretty much
its just... better. I don't know how else to put it
ohh.. since when did they delist dead men?

speaking straight facts
You can buy Kane and Lynch on the 360 store.
Shoulda specified the PC version I guess.
Only on 360 and it's not backwards compatible. It's also not on PSN or any PC marketplace.
I know it isn't. They made 2 back compat though. Why they do this? They have sequels but not the originals, or in the case of Skate you can play 1 and 3 but not 2 on Xbone. Super sad.

Something your going to be very familiar with very soon zoomie.
explain?

scrimblo video games
RAAAAAAAAANDYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
i enjoyed playing the demo over and over again when i was a kid. something about the shooting was just very satisfying.

> GFWL
I'm sure all these always-online games released over the last few years won't have something similar happen within the next decade or so.
lol wait what. So now no one can ever play these games now?

The future you chose.
That's true. I was trying to illustrate the underlying problem more than anything. Delisting can be more complicated.

it's a tragedy
Bizarre didn't deserve this
still the best arcade racing game on PC
My favorite RTS coming through
i remember this one. it was fun and moody.
Is there some sort of website I can import my steam game list into to see if I have any delisted stuff?
Not really delisting related, but he warned you 2 years ago.
I think that the vast majority of people knew this would happen
Its just that nobody gives a frick. "They're just video games", after all
played this back in the day, kino as frick
Still mad.
remember me?

based
giving those 100%'rs blue balls
Poker Night at the Inventory was an interesting concept, sadly we'll never get something like that ever
just buy a key from some shady russian website
Bump
At least they didn't remove the store page, yet.
I made 500 bucks selling old DS codes by buying them en masse when the remaster news broke out. Thanks FROM
You can still buy a code through SE's official site so is it technically still consider delisted?
t. bought a code from their site a year or two ago.
Good question
If only this game kind of played like hitman where you choose how to handle a heust and emphasise on replay value. What a waste.
Not much was missed... but still, it sucks to see it go.
bump, this is a good thread
you can still buy it on the Square Enix store
It'll be gone soon I'm sure. It's gone from every other online store aside from the 360 Xbox Store. They probably forgot to take it down.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/8080/Kane_and_Lynch_Dead_Men/
It's been gone since March. How fricking long is it taking them to remove GFWL?
Get it before it goes up to fricking $300 like Transformers Devastation is
Anyone know a guy who sells keys for delisted games or a site that lets you search by them?
allkeyshop.com
it kills me that you can pretty much only buy this game on PS2 physically. i have 3 copies of it, but i would love to play it on something that isnt an emulator.
of these the only ones i actually cared about were prey and the original bulletstorm (club music intact)
>Only way to play this now is through pirating(which always gives errors) or Through a buying a copy on a dead console
All this because they wanted Freddy Kruger in the game
forgot image , kind of like how NRS forgot they could still release the game without Freddy
They probably removed this game cause people would see how shiete the recent MK games truly are in comparison.
So gfwl wasn't only shit when it was released, it's still shit years later by making games disappear?
Another victim.
I remember seeing the cover of this game in Gamestop and thinking it looked pretty cool.
Was it actually any good?
And another.
I don't know, it's in my gigantic steam backlog of never played games.
I'll have to check it out on my own some time then.
