Did I mess up by settling for the 3060 Ti? I wanted the 3070 but I could never find it for cheap enough except on ebay aka mining cards. I paid $409 for this 3060 Ti on EVGA B stock and its FTW 3 whatever that means. apparently its better than regular 3060 Tis?

You got a good deal for that gpu
ok thanks anon.
Nah. You could've gotten a 6700 XT for that same price, which is on-par with a 3070
>AMD
>519€
>worse in every usecase other than like 10 gayms
I struggle to understand how amd is still alive let alone why people shill it online.
Are amd gpus still shit or something and I mean genuinely shit where you get blue screen level?
I don't know. My point is simply that nvidya generally does better all-round in the same class and costs a little more or the same in most cases (in the EU). Even if amd drivers now work, I genuinely don't get it.
I'll only speak for emulation, but the performance is totally kneecapped. Genuine "don't bother" tier.
It loses by 5-10 fps at 4k and wins by 5-10 at 1080p, but with memetracing it struggles to hit 60 fps even with the highest card. That means it's completely worthless to brand warriors.
>"""""on-par"""""
nah op got a good deal.
dont settle for AMD junk
Theres nothing to play so you arent missing out.
sell it and wait for 4000 series
I'm building from scratch and I don't want to wait for a mid 40 series cards. 40 series is already reportedly being delayed 4060/60Ti might not be out until january or february. The 4070 looks gimped with 10GB VRAM at 160-bit and is 300W base TDP. Not to mention it will be expensive and probably out of stock for a while when it launches
>GPU prices falling
>new gen right around the corner
>bought a low-mid tier GPU
lol, lmao
>He thinks GPU prices will fall when the new ones come out instead of getting scalped like the last 2 releases
Can't scalp shit when there aren't people willing to buy your overpriced crap. Mining is dead so nobody will be willing to deal with scalpers.
Cards are still going out of stock regularly. You can't find a 3060ti FE right now for MSRP.
in stock in bongland
Ah I heard about that them being available. In burgerland its still really hard to get ahold of them.
Is it that bad in the US? I bought a 3080 Ti last week for ~450EUR under MSRP. I don't mean a 2nd hand card either, from a normal store, brand new, sealed in box and with full warranty.
Us burgers are moronic and spending over MSRP for 3rd party cards. It's getting better but not by much.
This is your brain on consumerism. Imagine thinking a 3xxx series card is low-mid. There are Black folk still using gtx 970s you stupid homosexual
Literally upgrading my 970 to 3060ti next week. Sort of concerned for my 500W PSU.
>ti
be ready to buy a new power source
Works fine for me, and even if it doesn't you could undervolt it so instead of the 200-210w that my zotac oc uses max, it would use 170~180w with no noticable performance loss
>970 to 3060ti
Prepare for disappoint
970 is a beast
What about 970M to 3060 Ti?
Considering a 970M is more like a gimped 960 yeah that would be a nice upgrade
How would going from 1080 medium 45-60 fps to 1080 high 120-144 fps be disappointing?
>1080 medium 45-60 fps
>1080 high 120-144 fps
The difference realistically these days is minimal and isnt worth a 400 dollar upgrade if you have a working 970 gtx
why are you black
the fact that it took this many posts is appalling. the absolute state of nu-/v/
No. Your GPU is overkill for 99% of all games at 1440p.
no it's not
t: 3070 @ 1440p
Yes it is.
>ray tracing
>skyrim modded
no it's not
you could in fact argue it's shit considering how poorly optimized games are
>falling for the gay tracing meme
>Skyrim modder degenerate
>does not liek better looking games
why would you ever consider a new gpu if you don't care about graphics or even frame rates?
also leave my ass mods out of it you bloody bastard child
Ray tracing is not for better looking games. It's for devs to cut corners so they can push the cost of lightning to the users instead. Do you think games prior to this gay tracing meme didn't have dynamic light sources? They did, they just took effort to make. Devs want to stop trying altogether, so they're now pushing ray tracing down our throats.
>not for better looking games
you do realize ray tracing isn't just a push a button and it does all the work right? devs still need to put light sources in places
all ray tracing does is make lighting and reflections behave properly and it's not like you'll be able to escape it
5 years from now ray tracing probably will cost nothing in performance and standard in every game
The only thing ray tracing is useful for in the current year is reflections. Rendering the world twice is too expensive, and screen space reflections break if you look at them with the wrong angle.
>5 years from now ray tracing probably will cost nothing in performance and standard in every game
But not on your outdated GPU.
and that's to be expected. but it's something fun to play around with in old games like doom which with custom maps would be cool.
Indeed, at this point it's basically a gimmick that NVIDIA is pushing hard because they need to give people a reason to upgrade. You fell for it. The only reason they even put RT accelerators on their GPUs is because it's useful for the professional market.
I didn't fall for shit though, my old gpu couldn't play anything beyond 2014 and now I got a gpu that can play practically anything except for unoptimized shit games. it's more extra addon that you get for free considering inflation. there is no more rtx fee just typical market pricing bullshit because they can get away with it.
>Do you think games prior to this gay tracing meme didn't have dynamic light sources
Not good ones.
While the 3070 is better, not by much and you got a FTW 3 which is factory OC'd by EVGA so you wont even notice a difference vs a reference 3070. You did good anon especially for that price
t. fellow 3060 Ti owner
why are you black
the real question is why is homie #2 wearing a jacket indoors
>did i mess up
no b***h, it's fine, god damn
you'll be fine. if you end up changing your mind, you can currently buy a 3070 for MSRP
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3070-8gb-gddr6-pci-express-4-0-graphics-card-dark-platinum-and-black/6429442.p?skuId=6429442
is 11% higher frames worth the 22% price increase?
>you can currently buy a 3070 for MSRP
no you cant
>posts a screenshot of the process working
you have to wait like 5 minutes, zoomzoom
>blower style reference card
kek enjoy your space heater. Not to mention a FTW card will be faster out of the box and with undervolting he shouldn't even notice much power consumption or noise vs the reference card
for me its 6700XT strix
As long as you don't mind using resolution scaling or DLSS you'll be absolutely fine. I don't know how long it will last though. It depends on how demanding unreal engine 5 and other engines will be when real nexr gen games start coming out
Even PS5/SeX only games are targetting 60 fps. So you shouldn't worry. So long as devs don't go back to 1080p and 30 fps to push an insane amount of particles, we're safe.
Yes
If you have a card worth selling on fleabay in order to help lower the cost? Sure. 3060ti is probably the best price per performance 3070 isn't worth the extra $100.
Why are you complaining? I have a 3080 and i have not played a single game that even comes close to the full power of this giant ass card. 3060 ti will last you 5 years at least.
You don't game on an 1440p ultrawide or 4k monitor? I couldn't come close to 144fps at ultra settings on my 34" 144hz 1440p ultrawide g sync compatible monitor.
1080p gaming is old dated technology.
I use 1440p 27 inch monitor and a 1080p 75 hz monitor, running both consecutively my 3080 runs both no problem above 144+ hz Ultrawide is a bit of a meme tbh
What was your previous gpu?
Nothing. I'm building my first gaming pc
i got my 3070 for free so im happy
nice larp
amazon delivered it a few blocks down and the guy that got it gave it back to me.
You got a good set of neighbors dude, if that would have happened where i live it would have been stolen 100% guaranteed.
should i be using this feature in geforce experience?
I got a 3080 but what shold be my priority in games? 2k or 120 fps???
1440p 144fps
but what is its a game that can do run 2k and 144hz at the same time? For example curently having problems with MHR
which one should I lower?
>which one should I lower?
the fricking details you stupid Black person
resolution>framerate>details/posprocessing/etc.
there is no way your 3080 cant run MHR in 1440p 144hz in mid-high settings but you are probably a dumb Black person who fell for the "ultra" meme
ultra settings. Ultra settings are genuinely unironically a ploy to make people buy expensive GPUs
I mean, MHR sould EASILY run in ~200fps at 1440p ultra so you probably have a shit CPU but thats beside the point
frick I meant framerate>resultion, of course to a degree but 144FPS1080p>60FPS1440p
>Ultra settings are genuinely unironically a ploy to make people buy expensive GPUs
Holy poorgay cope
>posting webm of ethot
opinion discarded
>poorgay cope
tell me which one of these is medium, high, and ultra and why
Post a good game
Assuming you've got a variable refresh rate monitor, you don't actually NEED to hit FPS as high as the refresh rate. Is the game smooth to you? Then it's fine, why frick with it? Leave it be. If not I'd lower other settings first, lowering resolution is not acceptable because it looks like complete garbage.
What do you even mean? Like when upgrading a monitor?
1440p 144 hz, or 1080p 320+ hz for some autistic reason you play shitty Esports games.
do you have a monitor that can display a framerate over 60
do you care about aliasing
If I want more fps what are the first settings I should think about changing
Good Lord
whats wrong
I got a non-Ti 3060 last year, sucks. Might just get a 4xxx series when it comes out
>sucks
What sucks id to be you thinking a 3060 was made for 1440p moronic Black person.
Meh, no big deal, started a new job and make 25% more than at my old one, I can afford another card
>Did I mess up by settling for the 3060 Ti?
what game did you or are you planning on playing the comming year or two that 3060ti will not be enough for really?
>inb4 muh ultra settings
medium vs ultra settings make almost 0 fricking difference nowadays because "medium" is used as the standard and "ultra" is just adding a moronic amount of post processing that barely changes anything while eating up performance
I'm still on a 2060 and I legit can't find a worthwhile game that my card doesn't run well. The state of the industry is a fricking joke.
Nah that's a good deal but it also depends on what your previous GPU was.
You can still make it an even better purchase in a year or 2 if you decide to upgrade again and sell yours used for a bit cheaper.
Either way your money was well spent so play your games with a clear conscious.
>what your previous GPU was.
Nothing. This will be my first gaming PC
Thats a solid card that should serve you for years congrats
>He didn't wait for the price drop and settled for a shit gpu
bahahahahahaha
Smart tier: 1080p/144hz
It's your money tier: 1440p/144hz
Poor tier: 1080p/60hz
And everything else is trash
lol this homie still using 1080p
even console homosexuals are on 4k now.
>even console homosexuals are on 4k now.
*1440p upscaled
Because they play games on massive living room TVs, which require a higher resolution.
For computer monitors, higher resolution is just marketing memes. It might be nice to have a 27" or 32" monitor. There is a little improvement in image quality when going up to 1440p or 4k. But there are huge diminishing returns. The price you're paying for your PC is double and the visual improvement is very small.
>1060 3gb
>can't decide between 3070 or 3080
is the 3080 even worth it? i was thinking i'd grab a 3070, then see what the 4000 series is about at the end of 2023.
Not for gaming. All the 3080 3090 stuff is only worth it if you work with graphics daily
i actually do. i do 3d modelling, and heavy texture work, and i putz around with daz3d to make some money on the side. technically, the 3070 will be fine for heavy texture work, but the 3080 would be killer for 3d rendering. i just don't know if i splurge on the 3080 now, or just grab the 3070, wait for the 4000 series to come back in stock, then do a full pc upgrade after that. i have an i7-7700k that kills any game requirements today, but if i upgrade i'm going amd, and will end up building another pc.
thats msrp so a good purchase, should have no problem with max settings 1440p/100fps+ on current games without memetracing and other settings
3070 here that messes with daz, get something that has way more vram fricking hate having only 8gb even if 1440p/120fps on games
wait for 40xx series should have more ram and more cuda cores
would of gone with AMD but like messing with daz (amd really needs to add support to daz)
>memetracing
how sad. you should have gone amd
The 3060 Ti is only a little worse than the 3070 while being a lot cheaper, and it's much better than the 3060. It's the best value 3XXX card you can get besides maybe the 3080.
real homies know
>upgraded from a 3050 to a 3060 Ti
>playing Quake 2 RTX
>needed to lower the resolution scale to 85% to maintain a solid 60fps at 1080p with the 3050
>can now maintain a solid 100fps at native 1080p
I hope this card will be good enough for Unreal Engine 5 games.
>I hope this card will be good enough for Unreal Engine 5 games.
UE5 is the only thing that worries me about how long the 30 series will last
I got about 40fps on that Matrix tech demo with my 3060Ti at 1080p, and since I only have 1080p monitors I SHOULD be okay
I think games will be more optimized than that tech demo.
Oh I know, unlike many PCgays I'm totally fine with 30fps in a game as long as it's single player
Also, DLSS is a thing
I'll probably keep this card until 2032 kek
30fps on PC feels horrible because the >60hz refresh rate makes it almost impossible to get steady frametimes and because you notice a lot more stutter with mouse movement.
If you somehow manage to get consistent frametimes at 30fps it's perfectly acceptable however.
Am I gay
No
