As for Heavies you shouldn't be taking them head on in the first place and should be shooting him in the back, which by the way should be much easier to do with the extra speed letting you get behind enemies much easier through the flanks.

I never acted like it was useless, when the frick did I do that? my entire point was that going fast while very nice is heavily offset by the huge downsides the weapon has, which is why I made it a point to say that the risk/reward of the weapon is heavily imbalanced

People don’t realize but the Wrangler used to be stronger before and was nerfed.
Before, the Wrangler shield didn’t reduce healing. You could tank 3 pipes and heal all that damage in single swing. Same metal cost too. So while effectively tripling your health, you also triple your healing AND save 2/3rds of your metal healing too.

Heavy is slow, and good at denying area to the faster classes. If you let the Heavy get to mid, the game slows down a lot. Then, there's less risk and more incentive to bring a Sniper to mid. All of a sudden, 6v6 has the same Sniper duels that Highlander does.
6v6 players generally want to go fast and not wait around in stalemates, so the whip and the GRU stay in the trash.

yes. you're blatantly ignoring major parts of the weapon and massively oversimplifying it. if those were the stats like you described? it'd be pretty good but that's clearly not the case.
Not that anon but the risk really isn't that bad because of how easy it is to regain boost. If you jump or take damage, but you manage to potshot someone for 25 or more, you're already back to normal Scout speed. You hit a meatshot, your entire meter is back. It's so easy to bounce between speeds as you fight that it's sometimes even a strength for the weapon.
It still does what people want from it: makes you fast and unpredictable in fights, and lets you cruise through backlines at 100 mph. Fun weapon. What holds it back from being as good as Stock is the ammo penalty and nothing else, but that's fine for a weapon like this.

honestly it's genuinely embarrassing to try to play with friends now, used to be able to just have some good dumb fun in quickplay
now you constantly have to switch servers every 5 minutes because of bots and it just feels awful

The Sandman should have been reworked into being about to headshot players. The stun mechanic is simply something no one is gonna like and no one should attempt to make it an enjoyable mechanic.

i hate playing modern tf2, the community sucks, the weapon balance is fricking trash unless your name is soldier or demo, it runs like ass despite the game running just fine in 2007 but now with hardware thats 20x more powerful it can't fricking maintain a steady framerate, bots are still infesting servers to this fricking day despite it being an issue for HALF A FRICKING DECADE and valve hasn't lifted a fricking finger outside of muting f2ps for some moronic reason

not sure why you're downplaying this when the entire idea behind scout is being a very frail but highly damaging target that is also hard to hit due to his speed and double jump, the gun is nerfing both your speed to start AND you're insanely punished for double jumping in the first place.

while a very good reward again, you get tagged and you lose that and you're practically a sitting duck with one of your major balancing attributes being potentially gone depending on how much damage you took.

yes. you're blatantly ignoring major parts of the weapon and massively oversimplifying it. if those were the stats like you described? it'd be pretty good but that's clearly not the case.

Not that anon but the risk really isn't that bad because of how easy it is to regain boost. If you jump or take damage, but you manage to potshot someone for 25 or more, you're already back to normal Scout speed. You hit a meatshot, your entire meter is back. It's so easy to bounce between speeds as you fight that it's sometimes even a strength for the weapon.
It still does what people want from it: makes you fast and unpredictable in fights, and lets you cruise through backlines at 100 mph. Fun weapon. What holds it back from being as good as Stock is the ammo penalty and nothing else, but that's fine for a weapon like this.

How to fix scout

>damage received decreases with distance (snipers excluded)
>scattergun does 0 damage unless right next to target
