          These are precisely the classes that extra speed helps against, unless the Pyro is using a Scorch Shot you should be able to dodge their projectiles.
          As for Heavies you shouldn't be taking them head on in the first place and should be shooting him in the back, which by the way should be much easier to do with the extra speed letting you get behind enemies much easier through the flanks.
          Also you people b***h about losing boost easily but its gained just as easy, pepper someone 4 times and you are already back at Scout's original speed.

            not really? again, pyro just puffs you once with the flamethrower and it's over. that is not uncommon at all and having boost doesn't suddenly make you immune to something like that. soldier? if you could double jump sure but you'd lose boost by doing that, and if you aren't double jumping you're generally going to have a harder time avoiding explosives with such a wide radius unless he's using the direct hit. it gets even worse in enclosed spaces, which are most flank routes scouts take.

            people b***h about losing boost easily because in a fight if you get tagged once it might as well be over with how much slower you will go depending on the class and situation. it basically feels like the BFB's risk reward is super imbalanced and that's why people b***h about it so hard, because in exchange for losing a fight in potentially one hit and heavily discouraging double jumping, you just go really fast.

        People don’t realize but the Wrangler used to be stronger before and was nerfed.
        Before, the Wrangler shield didn’t reduce healing. You could tank 3 pipes and heal all that damage in single swing. Same metal cost too. So while effectively tripling your health, you also triple your healing AND save 2/3rds of your metal healing too.

        competitive in tf2 revolves around two things

        1) rgl (for tournies)
        2) b4nny's pug group (for everyday practice) (you have to suck the wiener of a member to get in)

        there is no longer a way to just play competitive TF2, like tf2lobby back in the day

        the game's comp scene is also a joke with a lot of cheating. in the VAC wave a few years back, literally 30% of highlander sniper players got banned. and that's just the detections

        Heavy is slow, and good at denying area to the faster classes. If you let the Heavy get to mid, the game slows down a lot. Then, there's less risk and more incentive to bring a Sniper to mid. All of a sudden, 6v6 has the same Sniper duels that Highlander does.
        6v6 players generally want to go fast and not wait around in stalemates, so the whip and the GRU stay in the trash.

      Not that anon but the risk really isn't that bad because of how easy it is to regain boost. If you jump or take damage, but you manage to potshot someone for 25 or more, you're already back to normal Scout speed. You hit a meatshot, your entire meter is back. It's so easy to bounce between speeds as you fight that it's sometimes even a strength for the weapon.
      It still does what people want from it: makes you fast and unpredictable in fights, and lets you cruise through backlines at 100 mph. Fun weapon. What holds it back from being as good as Stock is the ammo penalty and nothing else, but that's fine for a weapon like this.
