They already have the cash cow that is GTA online. There was just no way red dead online was going to be nearly as successful as GTA online, Take two was just honestly delusional about it
then it's alright, it's the only thing I do in online other than getting Chinese hackers all over my shit
hopefully the lack of content will drive them away
Rockstar didn't support it much. But the main issue was that while RDR2 is great as a single player game, the slow gameplay doesn't lend itself as well to multiplayer zoom zooms, especially when Rockstar make its competition which has multiple vehicles and weapons etc
I think it lends itself to perfect coop multiplayer experience but they never added anything into the multiplayer.
There are still those fricking "lobby matches" while the whole point should be just roam around and have interesting stuff to do
No anti-cheat so hackers can just warp you off the map, kill your framerate with spawned explosives, trap you in cages, or close the game on you with le epik chinese trolling.
>wasted an entire year without renewing the extra content pass >do nothing about the fact people can hack in your real money currency (via the way it can be earned in-game) >surprised that RDO isn't making money
wienerstar only has itself to blame.
Online was dead on arrival. >Monetisation out the ass >Nerfed all methods of making ingame money multiple times >World is practically empty, aside from tedious unrewarding grind quests >Still uses outdated lobbys for a good chunk of the content >Can't rob people >Fricking rabbit hunting rifle being op af >No way of getting gear, guns or anything worthwile without grunding hundreds of hours or paying hard cash >Gear doesen't even do anything, guns all equally shit
You forgot >accidentally shot their own monetization in the foot by making dailies pay out MASSIVE amounts of gold through multipliers
Yeah they nerfed it but not before anyone who played it even remotely regularly could rack up more gold bars then they could possibly spend.
I still had about 230 when I uninstalled.
All I want is a single player free roam with my own custom character, don't care about online multiplayer or playing as John after killing Micah. Just let me roam...

is this actually dead as I can't play it anymore?
it's dead as you only can ride your horse around and shoot people if you ever met any
And that's it

It's still alive, the community is sad that the devs have officially said they aren't adding any more new major content. They only care about GTAO.
Can't have robot horses and shit so the devs have no idea what to add anymore.

Nobody wanted it, we wanted Undead Nightmare 2
I play it regularly with friends, it's just that we've run out of shit to do because they won't rerun the Outlaw Passes, which lock away content.

>"You were killed by qiue48483849"
or some shit.
take two was upset it didn't make a gojillion dollars a second like gtao so they killed it

>have zero protection against cheaters and hackers
>game dies

They designed it to fail.

all they need to do is add a real director mode like with GTA V
>What went wrong
Everything
two more weeks until the expansion that fixes everything just wait
