I'll never use ray tracing, waste of performance and power

Unless you play every game on lowest possible settings and resolution, you're a hypocrite. Because all of that is just waste of performance and power

Everything that takes you under your max refresh rate is a waste, and if you own a 60Hz monitor you're a fricking idiot. Simple as that.

I was sceptical with early versions of DLSS, but it came a long way and looks really good now. It works wonders in certain titles, like RDR2 for one, where the rendering pipeline breaks the LOD when you turn off temporal AA and you get ugly pop in. With DLSS you get the benefit of temporal AA without the blurr, that and you can even run it in conjunction with DLDSR, rendering the game at twice the resolution and downsampling to your monitors native res. Looks realy sharp and no jaggies. Same with Cyberpunk, DLSS somehow makes the game look sharper and less blurry compared to the normal AA implementation.

why do they use the dlss label for everything? i've heard ray reconstruction is coming to all rtx series gpus... so some will be capable of dlss 3.5 but not dlss 3? completely moronic.
also why isn't amd even trying?

only frame generation is exclusive to 4000 series

stupid naming, frame generation is just a feature of dlss 3, your 20/30 gen rtx can use dlss 3 just not that one feature, but of course nvidia is moronic and couldn't properly explain this

only frame generation is exclusive to 4000 series, everything else will work with other nvidia rtx cards

DLSS 3 or DLSS 3.5 are just names for the whole thing. All cards can use the spatial upscaler feature of DLSS3, as in any updates that gets apply to all 2000, 3000 and 4000 cards. It looks like this ray reconstruction/AI denoiser is going to be the same. The frame generation feature specifically is only available for 4000 cards because it apparently uses some dedicated hardware that the older cards do not have.

    >3.0 was only for 4000 series
    >uhhh 3.5 is for 2000, 3000 and 4000 series!
So besides being massive fricking israelites to sell 4000 series cards no one wanted, what is the reasoning behind this?

3.0 is for all generations. The frame generation is 4000 and windows exclusive because it requires certain hardware and kernel features.

Why do devs decide to make everything look so fricking shiny when implementing raytracing. It's supposed to look realistic, but irl everything isn't fricking glossy. It unironically makes a lot of scenes look worse.

So what, all the reflections will have fricked up schizophrenic text and reflections as it desperately tries to combine dozens of faked frames into a believable reflection, defeating the point of ray tracing in the first place?
Perfect for the mentally ill moron that buys Nvidia for gaming in this day and age.

anything to distract from the gameplay

I don't use upscaling, since I only play at native resolution. As they've begin to inextricably tie raytracing into the upscaling system then I won't be using that either.

If the only way they can make it work at playable framrerates is by upscaling 720p then I don't want it.

I unironically lost interest in nvidia's RTX stuff when it started being "faked".

I don't want fake frames injected into my game, I don't want faked resolution blurred until you can't tell while it's moving, I don't want fake raytracing.

Give me REAL raytracing that tanks the average normie's computer or don't give me it at all, The OP image looks like shit, water on the floor doesn't make perfect fricking mirrors, the example on the right looks worse than the example on the left.
RTX has truly lost sight of what the frick it was made for.

ray reconstruction is about denoising because the initial image only calculates tiny fraction of rays out of the whole picture, and then combines those with previous frames rays to come to a conclusion of what the pixel is meant to look like

99% of the picture is """"fake"""" and the word is meaningless
