>DMC is said by Capcom to be one of their new “pillars”
>No actual new game since 2019
Why not just remake DMC1 in the meantime? It’s practically a guaranteed success and it would give the fans something to keep them waiting until 6.

please stop fricking asking for remakes
They never said that.
>Why not just remake DMC1 in the meantime?
so they can focus their team's efforts on a new one. fricking Black person ass moron
DMC sucks anyways. Who gives a shit? Ninja Gaiden is much better.
None of you homosexuals can even agree which Ninja Gaiden is the best, and it turns into a bloodbath every time. God forbid someone asks which VERSION of your favourite Ninja Gaiden entry you're allowed to play so you don't break the ninja code and invoke the wrath of some greasy fricking homosexual who will put out a hit for e-ninjas to come and izuna drop your modem
>GIVE ME A GAME OF THIS SERIES EVERY YEAR AAAA i MUST CONSOOM
yearly or even every two years are the reason series go to shit.
>remake remake remake remaster remake remaster remake remake remaster remaster remaster remake
remaster yourself out the fricking window
hahaha a dmc 1 remake is inevitable and you can’t do shit
They only said that DMC5 reinvigorated the franchise and they will likely revisit the series. Most of the DMC team were carried over to Dragon's Dogma 2 and the rest of Capcom are busy on other projects such as MH, that kami maks game, RE, Pragmata and more. Probably only in the last year or so has work on a new DMC begun as a good deal of the DD2 team would have no real work left so go back to DMC.
Hopefully we get 6 instead of remake cancer.
6 Will be a Sparta prequel, Mostly because it will allow them to reuse assets from Dragons dogma 2
Unlikely. Next game will almost certainly have Dante front and center as he is the face of the franchise. Whether its 6 or a remake of 1 is yet to be seen. I feel pretty confident that 6 will be Dante, Vergil and Nero or at the very least, Dante and Vergil.
>Dante front and center as he is the face of the franchise.
Step aside, old man, Nero is the new face of the franchise.
Hell, Reuben won't even voice Dante anymore.
I'm a fellow Nerochad anon but the reality is people want Dante. 6 giving us Dante, Vergil and Nero avoids any letdowns and complaints.
Vergil would have to be heavily nerfed to make his gameplay more comparable to the other characters
I still think a sequal going into depth about Sparda and what he was like/what killed him would be cool
Nice quads
Nero is a good character, but I don't think he can carry the franchise. Personally, I think the story has been put to bed. How many Supreme Evil Beings can there be? Dante and Vergil have kind of, sort of, maybe almost reconciled. Just leave it. Let people remember when it was good. I promise if they release another DMC2 tier game, people won't forget about it this time.
>How many Supreme Evil Beings can there be?
2, 3 and 4 are about humans. 5 is about a half-human. The only supreme evil being was Mundus.
Not quite. 2 was about a human channeling Argosax the Chaos (Best demon name evar). 3 was about a human seeking to become a Supreme Evil Being, so we can meet halfway on that one. 4 was about the pope. So you got me there. I don't really know where Urizen falls in that, though. He ate the pomegranate or whatever. Personally, I would be surprised if they were able to come up with another antagonist that didn't make me roll my eyes.
I truly think they have one last big game in them and that can be the last hurrah. 5 is still a fine ending point though.
Front and center is a bit much but he will be a big part of the game and all over the marketing. Its Dante, DMC isn't really DMC without him.
Vergil getting a huge overhaul will be worth it.
I agree and disagree on the Sparda stuff. It would be cool but at the same time so much has happened with the series that it doesn't need to happen.
>It would be cool but at the same time so much has happened with the series that it doesn't need to happen.
I don't really know what they could do plot-wise if not elaborate on Sparda (or possibly even a prequel where you play as him).
I think introducing another random big bad would feel underwhelming - Nero may have trouble with one, but Dante and Vergil would canonically make mincemeat of them.
Properly introducing Sparda would give a realistic antagonist that Vergil and Dante couldn't beat (and he could pull Devil Sword Sparda out of Dante to give him something to unlock later).
On the other hand, it'd be really easy to overexplain or frick up Sparda's backstory and retroactively dull some of the cool mystery of past games. So meh, 50/50
considering that dante and vergil are pretty much god-like beings now, don't think mundus will be much of a threat to these two (or 3?)
They can write in new lore and characters pretty easily. Power level creep is a bad thing but 5's story was sort of about nipping that in the bud. Vergil is over his power autism so Dante doesn't have to keep chasing him either. At the end of the day DMC runs on shonen rules. That being love, the power of friendship, HEART trumps power and evil. They can have Mundus time travel back to his peak, introduce a whole new deeper layer of the underworld that makes Mundus look like a chump or just have a vile human betray everyone for immortality via demons.
>Vile Human betray everybody
That was Arkham.
Mundus did say he would come back one day. It might be kind of poetic if VERGIL'S son was the one to frick him up.
>mfw no Nero spin-off where Nero and Nico go on Scobby doo style demon killing adventures with Jake and Sherry from RE And Ammy from okami
>Next game will almost certainly have Dante front and center
Nah, even if 6 is in the modern day. Dante won't be the staring Lead Protagonist until 7 at the earliest.
2 is the only game that would benefit from a remake
FRICK REMAKES FRICK REMAKES FRICK REMAKES AAAAAAA
MAKE A NEW GAME
Biggest downside of DMC5 aside from lackluster environments was pretty much zero alternate costumes
RE4 Remake has decent costumes so I'm hoping that an eventual DMC6 has them (and better unlockables in general)
>Why not just remake DMC1 in the meantime?
why dont you kys?
do you really want DMC6? without Reuben, with Suzi, and with HEALTH doing the soundtrack?
because that's what you're asking for if you want DMC6
>Without Reuben
>with Suzi
>with HEALTH
This poster has a point. I'd rather new DMC never be made.
I want a DMC6 with young Dante doing commissions that tie in on a bigger demonic conspiracy. There's too much focus on Shakespearean family drama imo
Damn, this guy's in everywhere, kinda reminds me of that chick who shilled Cyberpunk like crazy back then who kinda fell out because God of War people called her out for being fraud or something.
we know your real name james frick off
its johnny
>Why not just remake DMC1
because they'll fricking ruin all the atmosphere and make the characters into ugly gremlins.
No remakes, and no annual release slop like yakuza.
Dmc6 would be kino.
It would have Co-op for the first time.
In the overworld, you play as Nero and a new hunter. You fight giant monsters.
In the underworld, you play as Dante and Vergil. The two settle a truce so they can collaborate to find the mastermind behind the giant monster attacks.
A spin-off has potential but I don't think I'd just want DMC5.5. Personally speaking, I'd want something more experimental that switches up gameplay in some way. What if they made a 2D game to see if combat could still work? What if the protagonist was Lady or some other human, and it became a third person shooter as a result? What about an artstyle/graphics change, more stylized and anime-esque? What if you could ride bikes or the van, and they tried to make stylish vehicular combat?
For sure there'd be doomposting about like "WHERE'S ITSUNO, WHY'D THEY CHANGE THE GAMEPLAY", etc. but I think it'd be worth it to see what they can do outside normal restraints. Worst case scenario, it's quietly forgotten by the time DMC6 actually releases.
>What if they made a 2D game to see if combat could still work?
Odin Sphere, Muramasa, Astra Libre or however its spelled, Guacamelee, Rainblood Chronicles: Mirage, etc...
Vergil is so cool guys
